Not bad for a local pub but nothing fancy either. Pretty good deals in a relaxed environment. I ordered cheeseburger the other night but got served the veggie burger instead. They had the tennis on, which was good, but then antique road show came on and we asked them to switch it back, which they did. Good for an easy feed, relaxed service and nice carpet

Great pub. Nice food. Friendly helpful staff. 2 pool tables. $8 pints of 150 lashes beer. Huge $19 meals with a pint of beer. The parmi meal pictured. Also beautiful chicken pie meal for $18 pictured. Happy hour Mon to Fri from 5 till 6 and Bulmers cider comes down from $12.20 to $7 for Happy Hour. They also have a drive through bottleshop and a TAB. Restaurant on one side and public bar on the other side. Will be back.

The Herdsman Lake Tavern is a place I visit regularly. The Manager Samantha and her team always ensure our experience is amazing. The food is great and table service is always very quick. I highly recommend the Mediterranean stack…absolutely delicious.

A really good reliable place to eat. Good service, can be quite busy at lunch time. One of the rare places to get the mouch sort after Cristmas plum pudding with proper custard, cream ice cream and a strawberry

1st time visiting. Quite a nice, spacious dining area with kind prompt staff. Only down side is I'd open the windows to let fresh air in as it had a "closed" air smell and the lamb in the lamb salad was over cooked - something to chew on. The wedges were a huge portion and squid was really nice. I would definitely go again.

This was the 1st time visit to The Herdsman lake tavern and we were pleasantly surprised..Good choice of meals and drinks available. service was polite, friendly and prompt. Meals were of substantial size and although Pub meals which in most case you would expect them to be slightly cheaper than a restaurant they were actually on the slightly higher price. In saying this as mentioned them were all of substantial size, and cooked to perfection. There was a table of 6 of us and we all enjoyed our meals, deserts, teas and coffees and great service. Will definitely be back

This place is family friendly atmosphere with great table service from the staff. The food is delicious with wide range of choices on the menu. I have been here many times for Dinner and lunch every time the food and service experienced is of a high standard. Parking is easy and entry is accessible for all people as there are on stairs to navigate. Yes I recommend this place for great value for money and I will be back here in the near future.

Good solid feed. Hubby's parmy was good but I was a little disappointed with my steak burger 🍔 steak was very dry. The air con was freezing. Staff were friendly and our wait for our meal was minimal. Will definitely give them another go.

Although the staff and beer selection are very good the system for Tap, order & pay did not seem to work for me. Waited 20 minutes for food order on a Monday night and my drink order never appeared I ordered the Monday schnitzel burger for $12 and thought that was good value.

We spontaneously chose to come here as we've heard good things, however it was very busy & the service wasn't great. We didn't know that it was kids eat free on Sunday, but still some improvement was needed to cope with this type of special. In saying that the food was still very yummy, the kids polished it all off which is always a good sign.

Relaxing and enjoyable lunch at The Herdy. Food & service is consistently great. Staff are welcoming & friendly. This is our 4th visit. My hubby had the Pork ribs served with wedges, salad & slaw. Ribs were very tender & flavoursome. Delicious dish. I had the Grilled crispy skinned barramundi served on potato rosti with mushroom & cherry ragu & mussels. Scrumptious. We shared a sticky date pudding which was tasty. Menu extensive and reasonable prices. Generous portions. We will definitely return and can recommend The Herdy.

Had a gathering there for a school reunion. We all paid $10 for finger food. The sausage rolls and party pies were ok. The fish bits were bloody awful, couldn't even stomach finishing one. Something like chicken wings would have gone down nice. Don't think I would be rushing back there.

Great food cold beer 23rd /10 Went last night still great food and cold beer but the service was very poor took 30 minutes to come to the table and take our order got the mains had to ask for water no one came to take desert order had to order it at the bar then they only brought out half of it had to ask someone to find the rest. Looked like one manager finished his shift and the next one just didn't have a clue he had all the wait staff just emptying the vacant tables not serving customers lots of customers were going to the bar to get thier orders taken. Some just paid for what they had and left.

I really wanted to give this place a good review. The staff are friendly, the food is about what you'd expect for this price. It's quite clean and there's ample parking. But the sad reality is the wait time from kitchen to plate is simply too long for the price point they are pitching at - and their staff aren't able to give reliable estimates of wait time because of this. I don't know if it's a staffing or logistical issue, but the three times we've been there on reasonably quiet midweek nights, it's taken them at least 45 minutes to get a Chicken Parmigiana to the table. One order took over an hour. Overall, a nice pub. But don't go there before the movies

Been on Sunday lunch time and place packed, chicken parmigiana was outstanding - 5 stars. Went on Thursday weeknight 2 weeks later Aug 12th, and had chicken parmigiana again but was 2 star rating: chips dried out;needed more salad dressing; needed more sauce for parmigiana.

Finally, a proper parmy in Perth! Our waitress was amazing, very attentive but not invasive; exactly what you want. The food was amazing. Lots of variety on the menu and great value for money. Two parmies with chips and salad and two drinks for about $60. Would definitely recommend.

Marinated steak with pork ribs as a topper easily the equal of a decent steakhouse. Presentation uncommonly good given your average pub can get sloppy with that. Beef and Guinness pie also wonderful. An unassuming venue with top-notch food.

Ok, I always try to give honest feedback that benefits not only the consumer but the Resturant who may know or not know about a particular aspect. Pleasant and smiley staff upon our arrival. 4 of us at the table and so ordered 4 drinks and when being delivered no record of the 4th drink which wasn't anything complicated just a soda and lime. When the drink was delivered no lime. Ordered the 4 meals and did take a longer then normal time. 3 of the meals arrived at the same time but waited another 5 minutes for the 4th, a rump steak. Maybe in some eyes not a big think but the 3 of us did wait for the 4th meal to arrive to all start together. 3 of the meals very nice but the rump was rubbery and something wouldn't order again. The man had sweets of apple and rhubarb pie and sticky date pudding and we cleaned the plate, once again very tasty. Ordered 2 long black coffees which we like as its normally hot but this was luke warm and didn't finish it. Would we come back, yes we would but wouldn't be in a rush as for reasons as outlined and would order the steak. As I said at the start any hospitality business will get better by honest feedback and hopefully I have provided that.

Excellent menu to suit an extended family on a Sunday. Kids....free (gold coin donation for charity), Nan & Pop had $15 seniors menu which was excellent, Mum & Dad had main size meals which were very generous portions. Dad and Pop didn't miss the Eagles game as there were numerous tvs on the walls. There were coloured pencils, word games and a play area for kids. I am very impressed with the place. Oh I forgot to say the staff were all great too.

We have come here on and off over the years, mostly because you get a decent feed and our kids can play at the playground. But the last few times I've come the food and service was well below par. Tonight was the last chance, and I'm so glad I gave it another chance. The service is 5/5! I cant fault the staff. They have found the fine line between checking in but not constantly interrupting. And the food was back to the quality the Herdy used to be. We will certainly be back.

Used to come here a few times a year so I came back with a group of friends. The service is good and staff are friendly, and the inclusion of a small play area is a godsend for families. The food was OK... Most of the dishes on the menu were good but my steak was dry, chewy and a bit cold by the time it got to me, so that was disappointing.

Great place on a Sunday where kids eat free. We got to watch the football on the big screen whilst the kids played in the indoor playground and did craft at a table setup especially for them. Lovely pub and family friendly took the parents for a Friday night meal. The food was beautiful with a christmas in july turkey dinner which the parents loved and the bangers and mash will fill the tummy.I had the steak and can say that it was cooked beautifully , drinks guinness and red wine was very affordable and you can get the 250 ml glass a life saver for when its busy. Great place for the Mums and Dads to take the kids and get a good meal in and a wine to say goodbye to the week.

Customer service is so important & it shines through when it is given. The manager (she) on duty did a really brilliant job with a smile & attended to it immediately. This was when the waiter serving us had a really sour attitude and just kept getting our orders wrong and in the 2nd round, the drinks never came out. Overall the food was nice, there's a play area for the kids in full view from our table, and it wasn't too overcrowded on a Saturday lunch. If you're thinking of what to eat, go past the burgers and try the steak or barra, the Guinness pie was good too.

The Hardy is a very simple pub. It does very good food and has a decent range of beers on tap. They are one of the few places around with table service that allows you to split the bill across a large table. They also have a great indoor playground set up for the kids so this is a massive bonus. The one thing they are missing though is an outdoor area, it seems a shame to have a bar in Perth and not take advantage of the great weather we have here!

I really like this venue, its comfortable with plenty of tv screens. The food is a better than the standard pub fare and reasonably priced. They could improve their beer selection. The layout works well with separate sections for kiddies and big kiddies who like a punt on the game. There is an almost sound proof indoor enclosed playground to pen the kids.

The kids had a great time and service was fantastic, food was great and the manager topped off the night, from accomodating a table for us instantly despite being fully booked and run off his feet, personally checking up on our table through out the night with some friendly banter and all with a smile on his face. Food was thoroughly enjoyed, large serves and definetely not skimping on the carbonara ingredients. Staff were great. Cashier was very friendly with my elderly grandmother when we paid. My drink didn't arrive until our mains were served and I had to reminded our waiter. We unfortunately sat at a table (Table 4) that seemed to be outside the Mgrs office. Everytime she exited she did it with such force and rush that it seemed like there was some kind of emergency. Don't think she knew what a smile is to save her life. No big deal though at the end of the day... Just some honest feedback.

When I first heard the word 'Tavern' I did not think my first visit here with tje family and a few friends families would turn out that well, however, I was surprised how open and relaxing the place was for parents bringinf children. There is an indoor playground and a massive dining area so that noone is too cramped and the pool tables and sports bar area is seperate to the dining and playground area. Very well thought out and great beer selection and food. Great cuatomer service also.

We go here very regularly because the steaks on steak night are decent and they have an indoor playground that's incredibly sound proof. If you have children, the pub is part of a chain that has a kids club, so little meals with little prices (fish and chips served in a pirate boat is a particular favourite) exist and did I mention the playground is virtually sound proof?

Our Steaks were tough. Had to ask for Dressing to go with Salad, otherwise it was dry and tasteless. Water bottles not refilled or taken away. Apple Pie was from a packet?? and didn't get the cream we asked for. Sorry not happy. Won't be back.

Half the pub is family friendly with a playground for kids, great food (above pub quality) and a decent drink selection. Prices are average. The other half of the pub is a sports bar, which bats above its average. Plenty of TV’s and the staff make sure as soon as one game finishes the channel is changed to make sure something else live is on. Also has a TAB for allll your gambling needs. The playground is in the bistro and they do play sports in the bistro as well as serving dinner.
