I love the Tavern. It's good for catching up with friends over a tea or a coffee, last-minute drinks, if you want to have a nice meal at the restaurant, or just for having some food to share at the pub. Also, the food is fancier than what one normally expects at a pub! Staff is always nice and you always feel so comfy you always come back. 🤩🤩🤩

The Queens has always been a popular place for us to eat after meeting there 10 years ago. This visit the food was still good however the Queens is looking very tired. Bench seats have no cushions, other chairs are basic & could do with a scrub & same for the tables. I understand it has been hard over the last couple of years but a bit of a tidy/clean would help.

Wanted to try out the new stomping ground ! It was a busy Sunday lunchtime and the staff were incredibly rushed but our drinks were forgotten about, and orders taking a long time to be placed. That being said , the squid, vegan tacos and sweet potato wedges were great. They were all fresh and definitely made up for the other shortcomings. It's a beautiful place, well decorated with a very youthful and energetic atmosphere. Well worth a look 🙂

18/12/2021: Great Pub, always has been and always will be. We have been going here ever since it opened and it hasn't really change over the years. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is a good range of beers and there is always a reasonable crowd and a good atmosphere. Reliable place for a beer or 2 and even a feed.

We attended on a Sunday evening and it was great to see a DJ inside the entry/bar area with plenty of people dancing and having a great time. Love the new QR code food/drink ordering system, staff are all friendly and helpful. Looking forward to seeing the new menu that is due out this week, hoping the chicken pizza shall be back on the menu again. Definitely one of our favourite pubs in Perth.

Been to The Queens many times and always good. Cajan chicken salad always good value and popular. Also barramundi and steak sandwich (see pics) service was prompt and helpful with helping us choose a meal and wine. Meals came out quickly and were of good quality. Prices were reasonable too. The decor inside was warm, modern and welcoming. You must give it a try. Limited parking at rear carpark via laneway and rear door entry into tavern. Gets very busy on a Sunday and public holidays

We were so impressed with the service at the Queens being a Friday night and very busy getting close to Christmas . My boyfriend and I organised and enjoyed his birthday party there recently. From the initial booking, Barbara was extremely helpful and accommodating. On the day, not only were the staff the same, but went beyond the call of duty dealing with an increasingly boisterous crowd. The food, service, and drinks were fantastic. EVERYONE at the party has since commented on how much they enjoyed the venue and atmosphere, including the complimentary music. Combine this with the relatively low total cost, I cannot recommend The Queens enough. I can’t wait to get back there again, next time I’m in Perth.

Friendly service, dog friendly area out the front. Good food, delicious cocktails and all round great experience. Went back for some lamb shanks, we were not disappointed. Large serve with creamy mash and beautiful greens. The doggos were jealous but we saved them some!

I was there for a function. Being a pub the noise was deafening, but understandably so. The food was good, a bit fiddly for fingerboard, needed lots of napkins. It would have been nice for them to turn the music down when they had the speeches, but again understandable. The bar staff were friendly, although a bit overwhelmed. The premises were clean and tidy, overall, quite pleasant.

Recently attended The Queens' NYE Prohibition theme night. Not only was the food amazing but the customer service was outstanding! It must have been one of their busiest nights but the service standard was consistently exceptional from the manager to the wait staff to the glassies. The decor looked great and many of the customers dressed up in 30s style for the night. There was a great house dj playing accompanied by live musicians - which was really different and quite special to watch. A really enjoyable event and a truly awesome pub!

Very atmospheric place - the warm, inviting interior makes it perfect for a rainy day! $8 pint on tap was excellent, food was pretty good although would say that the salmon was over cooked and the chicken crack didn’t live up to the hype sadly. Beef burger was delicious and portions were generous. All in all would definitely recommend.

Would have liked to give it three and a half stars. One of our mains was not heard correctly by our server, so we waited for a bit but had to start before the rest of the meals went cold. Server did not repeat our orders, which being the acoustics are terrible in the dining area, seems like that would be the normal practice. No offer of discount or something, maybe coffees for the table? Food is good, but not memorable. Always do enjoy Melbourne Cup day there...

Our company went to the Queens for an extended lunch - 24 of us - and had a great time. One vegan main meal on the menu and a few more veggie options. Service was friendly and helpful and the food was plentiful and tasty. The pub is fairly big and has a number of separate areas, along with a funky distressed decor and an odd doorway that is just sitting by itself that I assume was there pre renovations and had been left as an amusing motif.

I'm glad I took a leap of coming here for a meal, instead of taking on all the reviews about the food. I had a Queens chicken noodle salad... Yummo, serving size was massive I could not eat it all, and for the waiter that could not answer my question, the chicken is a thinly sliced marinated mixture of breast and thigh. Book this venue and judge for yourself because the place wasn't empty for a Thursday evening. If there could be any improvement it would be the waiters, when asked questions about the meals the knowledge was minimal. I would make my staff try each meal off the menu so they knew the quantity, quality and substance of the menu. They are the best selling point.

We go to the Queens anyway because its a great pub, good atmosphere, good food and drink. Last night the Queens hosted my son's 21st, which was a private party upstairs. I cannot fault them in any way for what was an amazing night to celebrate my son's milestone birthday. Emma who looked after us was managing her first private function and she nailed it. The bar staff were fantastic, the food lovely (definitely order the southern chicken bites if you have a function) and Emma couldnt be more attentive and accommodating if she tried (she was also looking after downstairs too). Thank you thank you so much for a fantastic night that you helped make so special. I would not hesitate to recommend the Queens and Emma and the team to anyone for their function, they do not disappoint.

After our initially review, below, we decided to revisit an give this property another go. I am so glad we did. The food is really good, the cheese burger was cooked perfectly and very tasty, hot crunchy chips, now some of the best in town. Excellent, friendly service, good specials. We are delighted to proudly call this place our local. Definitely worth a visit. Previous review (July 2020) originally a 3*** review. The $24 cheese burger was burnt and the chips were cold and dry, Not worth $5. Very unpleasant food. Great service. Good drink selection. In our group of five people, it was only the Barramundi that got the thumbs up. Love the Queens Hotel, been going there since the late 80s, so it’s a shame to see to see our local struggle on the food front.

An epic place to meet up with friends! With it's beautiful architecture and a contemporary interior, the Queens Hotel is one of Australia's BEST bar/pubs! A great selection of drinks, fantastic food and brilliant value. Most of all the friendly and professional staff are some of the best in hospitality. A nicely renovated old pub with great spaces for a quiet drink or a group. Rules for dogs are a bit inconsistent, but usually can find somewhere outside that they're allowed to sit. One of the best chicken schnitzels in town on a Thursday night

Delicious menu with options for everyone and massive sizes - it was very difficult to choose something and everything that came out looked amazing. The kids menu is great - they even had colouring in for the kids. Service was spot on too - quick with taking empty glasses and asking us for drinks. They do split billing which was very handy for our large group. We will be back.

Great Chef at this Hotel. Update 12/6/19 ( 5 months later) My friends and I meet and eat here every 2 months and ALWAYS enjoy our meals. Today one of 4 meals delivered to our table was VERY ordinary. The fish (usually deliciously succulent) was tough and the batter was awful. Even the chips were not fresh.The whole meal had a reheated feel about it. The usual small delicious tangy side salad was missing too. I left most of the meal. Even the grilled lemon half, which is a nice touch, was completely dry. What happened today guys?! The other 3 meals were great, so I won't change my star rating. I did give feedback when my plate was collected, but wondered if the right person got to hear about it.

When we visited it was super busy with a couple of functions on. We were able to find a table relatively quickly (had to borrow a chair from another table) and we were actually approached by a wait staff to talk about the option to open a tab or order at the bar. I thought this was quite prompt considering how busy it was, and opens up an oppurtunity for communication. We got a round of drinks and the service at the bar was also fast considering and the guy behind did a great job remembering the 5 drinks. I would probably try and reserve a table if I was set on eating here but otherwise you can try your luck and pop in.

Although it was very busy, the helpful staff found us a table outside. Waiting time at the bar was also fairly short even when packed which makes a refreshing change from a lot of places in Perth. They host a monthly beer night with the Royal Perth Beer Show that features a local brewery with all the beer under $10, it's always packed and a lot of fun. Their range of beers on tap while not super adventurous is still good enough for most beer lovers to be happy. They serve up good quality pub grub, and have really reasonable specials every night. You are allowed to smoke on their patio which is still licenced for food and drink. And if you want to have a sit down restaurant experience they have a small area with table service.

It's my local, Loss of a star: as the service is very average always has been. Loss of the second star: Even tho your sitting down for lunch they make you pay before you eat and as you go, if you want dessert you need to pay again then you need to pay again if you want coffee, just a pain. A group of 8 friends headed to the Queens Tavern for a Sunday lunch get together. Luckily we had made a reservation as the tavern was buzzing with lots of people. The menu was extensive and the fish and chips, roast of the day and the barramundi were the hits of the day. There is also a large range of beers on tap. The only negative was we had to wait over an hour for our meals and parking in the area is hard to get.

Love the vibe and beer garden - my partner and I are locals and come quite often. Great range of beer on tap (love the boutique beers!) and the service is always impeccable and the staff look like they enjoy working there. My biggest critique is the food menu... although it does change seasonally I'm just not a huge fan of the Summer menu! It's a massive downscale from the previous menus with only 2 options in each category to choose from. Don't get me wrong the food is always amazing but there needs to be a bit more of a variety with a gourmet Chicken Parma, risotto and chicken caesar salad added on the menu!!!! And bring back the pulled pork pizza! Queens is a pub after all so jazz up the pub classics!! :)

And we sat outside where there were lots of outdoor heaters. In general the meal and drinks prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be doing this again!

Far better food options nowadays along this strip.

Updated Review: The Queens reached out to me following my previous visit. They asked for a 2nd chance and I'm glad they did. It was a totally different experience and I couldn't have wished for better service. I was met by Steph, who bent over backwards to ensure every possible need was met. Pure service excellence! Thank you sincerely for everything you did for me. Duty Manager Lisa, was lovely and was very apologetic. "It shouldn't have happened" she said... Despite being a Sunday, I had a work lunch meeting. Just back from a few days at Rotto, I presented in a sleeveless top, thongs and a 3 day growth. Despite this, everyone I interacted with, interacted like I was in a three piece suit. Kudos! The food was excellent. Not overcooked at all and it arrived promptly. Serving sizes were large and we were full upon finishing our delightful meals. Cutlery and crockery was spotless. Drinks were filled to near the brim and ice cold, every time. Plates were cleared within a minute of finishing, as were glasses. Permission to clear, was sought on each occasion. I did like that!! It's rare for me to go from 2 stars to 5 Stars, yet each of those stars was earned. Thank you for inviting me back. I appreciated the chance to experience excellence in service delivery and will return soon. Lastly, please tell Monica, that I did recognise here Ecuadorian accent, as I have friends from Quito. Ideal for the 18-30 set which abound yet you will find all age groups represented here. Staff... Arrrhg. Seriously need to focus on customer service rather than each other. Perhaps that is a generational thing, but it does feel like I'm interrupting whenever I have ordered. Crappy little toilets mean you have to wait for the toilets on busy nights! As there are very few other decent pubs to go in Mt Lawley unfortunately this means the Queens is still the pick of the bunch! Wors of advice: if you have forgotten your ID, use the rear car park entrance, seldom does any security patrol this entrance!
