I just read some other highly critical reviews which are completely out of wack with reality. No idea what was going on there but you should ignore them.
L. S.A group of 5 of us had an excellent Xmas lunch here. Food was delicious with generous portions, service friendly and efficient (and dealt promptly with an initial mix-up), and all-in-all made for a lovely Xmas day. By the time we got to the end of the multiple courses I felt like someone needed to roll me home. Everything was good, but the king-prawns were likely the table's favourite. Will definitely be back.
H. C.Overall Shadow winebar was a fantastic place to celebrate any occasion. My favourite was the gnocchi and duck dish. Octopus was very chewy and can’t really bite easily. Service wise I guess it can be improved better. The man handling our table was great. But I understand that sometimes other waitstaff will serve us to cover, which there was no consistency. Even if it’s not your section, I guess consistency is very important. We will definitely come back!

P.First time visiting Shadow and I was not disappointed! I love the ambience of the dim lighting. It was exactly what I was after for an intimate dinner. I didn't take photos of the food because honestly we wolfed it down! The gnocchi, fried potatoes and market fish (snapper) were all exceptional. And nothing better than finishing it off with a beautiful dessert - pear tarte tain. Extensive wine list and small cocktail menu - could have more cocktails but it's all about the wine here!

We had the arancini, halloumi, and the San Daniele to start. All delicious.
For main we shared the lamb, which was amazing, with a side of potatoes, cooked to perfection.
To drink we had an excellent Sem Sauv Blanc.

S.Great ambience, and for once, it's set by the people having a good time rather than the noise of music that is too loud! For that reason, I'll come back. Service was great.
Food was all delicous, albeit some dishes were better value than others, which were a bit overpriced even for a fancy place. For example, 6 slices of chorizo or 2 prawns for $15??
I would come back for
- garlic broccolini. Perfectly cooked and flavoured. Bright green.
- blue cheese and Le marquis cheese. Amazing.
- the fish and artichoke dish. It was perfect.
- the pear tart dessert. Burnt caramel goodness.

Had the dugstation which was 5 shared courses. Veal tartar on bread, 1 scampi each, 2 beetroot bulbs, some fish, and pear tarte tatin. Taste was nothing special if not below ordinary.
Big wine selection.
It's was crazy windy inside.
Ladies make sure to bring a jacket and eye drops if you have sensitive eyes.
Overall we spend $330 and weren't impressed.
I'm glad we had a pre dinner snack otherwise I would have left hungry.

I went for lunch during the week with a few people, so it was a more relaxing affair. The decor was appropriate, a mix of modern and industrial with exposed ducting and pipes ceiling, sheer curtains, darker room styling. All very fitting of this wine bar.
Food was delicious, and adequately priced. Had a tempranillo, was quite delicious and paired well with a couple of the dishes we ordered.
A great venue, will visit again.

We had lunch.. Setting was lovely.. The highlight was a truely amazing staff member well versed in the wines.. Highlighted by impressive tapas simple plating with perfectly infused ingredients.. Wine list is extensive but not over whelming so selection is easy.. Pear tart for desert is a delight.

I arrived here around 5pm to finish up my day of work with a nice glass of wine. It was pretty quiet, plenty of seating. The place is modernly styled, decent playlist, music not too loud.
I was recommended a white wine, a Fiano from South Australia which was delicious. Lots of other options on the menu, not only wine but also beer and cocktails.
The service was attentive and quick.
It would be great though if they have wifi for guests a well so I don't have to tether from my phone to work :-)

P. S. L.I really wanted to love this place but I think I have been spoiled by some other amazing dining in Perth. I liked the atmosphere, the music level was just right and the service was really great. However I found it slightly sad that a Wine Bar only had a very limited list of wines by the glass. Food was not bad but I don't think I would return to (fine) dine here. Good beginnings but didn't quite hit the spot :(

E. M.I have been to Shadow Wine Bar multiple times now. And everytime the experience got better. Now there’s a new Head Chef there’s a bit of a change in the menu.
The amazing haloumi was taken out of the menu however the waiter told us they’re working on a new recipe for the haloumi.
The veal, ceviche, lamb are some of the must have.
The ambience in the restaurant is dark and Moodie. Perfect to bring a date.

P. H.I’ve eaten at Shadow many times and never had a bad experience. Food is interesting and imaginative and service is excellent. Whether you have a drink and snacks at the bar, a seated meal or a late night cocktail out the back, it’s a fabulous venue for lunch or dinner.
M. L.What a great dinner! We did the feed me option for $65 and it did not disappoint. The crab spaghettini was a highlight, as was the pear tart for dessert.
We felt it was very well priced - we left very full and very content. Wine list was also extensive including Italian and Spanish reds. Thanks for a lovely experience!

V. B.We we’re here two weeks ago. The service was fantastic!!!! Knowable, caring, attentive. And the food was excellent. Every dish was spectacular in a different way. Mozzarella, chickpea fritters, crumbed pork, gnocchi (OMG the gnocchi) and cheese, glorious cheese. The only one that wasn’t exceptional we’re the potatoes. They were only delicious, not spectacular 🙂 Thanks for a fantastic birthday dinner.
P. L.This could have been 5 stars if not for the let down in service. Our meals were great and arrived in good time but then our table seemed to get forgotten despite it not being a very busy night. We would have happily ordered dessert if we'd been offered, unfortunately there's only so long one can wait when our drinks are left empty.

The food was beautiful - we shared our 4 mains, so we got to taste them all. The beef was melt in your mouth. Service impeccable. The restaurant was exceptionally busy with delays to food delivery and as a result we ran out of time for the killer dessert - of course, it’s the pear tarte tartin. Darn shame for us! But it gives us an excuse, if we needed it, to go back.

S. S.It has been a ruff road for me with Shadow Bar. This is the place I had my first date with my partner. The food, perfection 11/10. The service has been hit and miss. In saying that the last time we went for our anniversary last year it started off so badly. But the Spanish manager was amazing, I was about to walk out but she gave me the service I expect for a meal and wine over $450.00 for two. She explained, described and offered so many suggestions. She is an asset. When you go and get the service right with the amazing food and wine this place is magical.

Food is high quality and the prices are what you would expect. Wine list is comprehensive with some good choices at all price points. Tables are available for groups with some additional privacy or in the main dining area. Book ahead for a decent table.

We chose the Dine with Me option from the menu - which is a three course meal chosen on the day by the chef/kitchen. We were delighted by the food that was served and enjoyed each portion of it. We were both left moreish by the 'Pumpkin and goat cheese agnolotti, hazelnut picada' which reminded me of lemon curd. We also enjoyed the recommended Pear tarte tatin for dessert.
