A delicious meal and reasonably priced - definitely stop by for dinner if you are passing through! The kitchen opens at 5:00pm so if you get there earlier you can check out the park across the street while you wait. The BLT was fantastic! 5/5 Not at all skimpy on the bacon and enough tomato and lettuce to keep the sandwich feeling fresh. I almost would want a little more L and T but no complaints. The sauce finished the dish greatly! Chips were tasty. The pumpkin salad was good. 4/5 Nice and fresh and a good portion. The cheese was a nice addition. The kids meals were great! 5/5 The chicken nuggets weren’t just some cheap freezer brand (well I don’t know for sure but it looked like they were fresher). Great big portions. The noodles were actually quality noodles and not just garbage they keep around for kids. It was nice to see they treated the kids meals like actual meals and not an afterthought. My wife and I stopped in at the Chidlow Tavern for lunch on our way back from the Toodyay markets. A great old pub, with plenty of history and charm. Apparently it was called The Oxford Inn when it first opened in 1884 as part of the railway connection from Guildford. We found the food and service to be first class. We didn't find a need to walk up to the bar to order a drink, as the waitress came to us and then brought our drinks to us. Now that's great service.We shared the Station Masters sharing plate and found that plenty for 2 people. We also had the Pancake Stack. The only problem was that management allow dogs in the pub and going to the male toilets you have to pass the area of the lounge where the dogs and their owners are and it absolutely stinks of that "dog smell". This, in my view, is very unhygienic. I personally think that all animals should be banned from all eating establishments. The service and food gets 5 stars but unfortunately the dogs bring my rating down.

Wednesday night is Music Jam Night. After a delicious seafood platter we enjoyed the skills of many musicians as they jammed the night away. Class acts. Chidlow Tavern is worth a visit if you like older style hotels, good food and drinks (the coffee smelt amazing) and good entertainment. Worth the drive in my opinion.

Dinner was good, a little pricey for two mains and a starter but the atmosphere was good, stayed to watch the Wednesday night pool comp, they also had live music on. Good for a middle of the week pickup. Couldn't fault the service, only when attended too, a little hard to get there attention from the pool alcove. Otherwise great night!

We travel from the city for an hour each way going past many other venues to get to this outstanding one of a kind pub. We are fussy about food and have found it to be perfect almost every single time, we really appreciate the great work of the whole team, they have everything to be proud of. When we take friends for the first time they regularly return, pricing is reasonable, decor is rustic, this place is over 100 years old and oozes with character. Big eaters will enjoy the train wreck burger challenge however I strongly suggest preparation and minimal eating for 24 hours prior to attempting this, you may become wrecked, in fact any of their dishes involving meat are exceptional, there is even some selection for vegetarians, try to leave room for cheesecake or take some home. Attention dog people, book a table out the back and your best mate is welcome, a bucket of water is no problem and dogos love the cheese burgers!

Surprisingly good food. We had steak sandwich, burger, fish&chips, prawns with rice and a couple of kids meals for dinner and all of it was tasty. Unfortunately we didn't take any photos as we were too hungry.

We camped out back, you need to be self sufficient but there are toilets across the road at the park, had a great time, we camp often at pubs and this is one of the best for atmosphere. The owner is great to talk to, the bar staff are brilliant, very professional with good old fashion smiling friendly service who remember your name. The food is very nice especially the calamari. Check their Facebook as they have live music, pot & Parma nights, car shows, pool comp's, etc.. and they support a lot of charities such as Beyond Blue.

A very sociable place, is the local RSL. They ran an Easter egg hunt for the children with a $100. oo Bank account for whoever found the "golden egg", Decore is a lot of antique stuff, eg. Crosscut saws, and railway signs/lights etc cetra. Lounge dining area, inside dining area, roofed outside dining area, beer garden, "man cave" and "woman cave" smoking areas. And the food was fantastic, a bit more than the middle of the road prices but a lot cheaper than many other places. On this occasion I had the "fisherman's plate" the fish was battered but the prawns were not, and I am not sure what the coating on the squid was but it was delicious and a generous portion of salad. Definitely worth a visit.

First time eating here yesterday as the kitchen had been closed for a revamp. The staff were super friendly and the food was amazing. We didn't discover the beer garden out the back until it was too late so will definitely return to soak up the sun and some delicious food!

I have to be honest, when we first arrived we were having second thoughts about going in, would have been a huge mistake. Granted it could do with a really good clean, but after a while, you see this as being part of it's character. The publican had a great personality ,quite the character, was a pleasure to chat with. Now we come to the burgers, I can honestly say,never in my 45yrs have I ever eaten such a burger, my partner felt the exact same,they were amazing, so filling,over filling, but to good to leave, even the chip's were cooked to perfection. If you get the chance, stop in, I would place bets on all their meals being perfect. We will definitely return next time we're out that way.

Really pleasant and surprisingly spacious. Classic bush pub with a 'real' beer garden. Food was excellent and the beer was frosty. 5 stars for this one, couldn't fault it. Oh and Thursday is Parmy day and they have about 20 different Parmy dishes to choose from (chicken or beef x about 10 options) Not seen THAT before! Well worth the visit.

Went as a table of four to the Chidlow Inn Tavern for lunch. Arriving at 1pm, there was only one other table seated, so the dining room was nice and quiet. After taking our pick of the tables, we were promptly attended to by a very pleasant, helpful and happy waitress. We ordered our drinks (soft drinks) which were delivered to the table very quickly. The lemon lime and bitters was more of an orange coloured lemon drink, but we forgot to ask for our extra bitters (which is a regular thing we do). We settled on ordering 3 chicken parmigiana and one scotch fillet. Our food all came at once, which was very good. The chicken parmigianas were of excellent quality, the chicken was moist, with a light crumb coating, a fresh tomato sauce and cheese. The dish was served with chips which were well cooked and a salad dressed in a very tasty mustard vinaigrette. The scotch fillet was ordered as medium well, and came out a little over cooked, but by no means dead. The steak was served with a generous serve of garlic sauce, which was very tasty, if not a little too much, and the chips and salad of the same quality as the parmigiana. Overall the quality and quantity of the food was excellent. The only negatives I can think to give to the Chidlow Inn is the quality of the tables and chairs. Our four-top consisted of two small plastic tables with chrome legs, one of which creaked quite loudly whenever the slightest pressure was placed on it, the chairs were of a aluminum tube construction with padded back and seat, which whilst comfortable, tended to cut in just behind the knees. Facilities would be a 3/3 if the tables and chairs were updated to reflect the colonial style decor throughout the dining room. All in all a great little pub, and a great place to have a meal. $110.00 for four persons

Chidlow Tavern has the second best BBQ pork spare ribs in Perth after American Ribs and Grill in Hillarys. So saucy, so delicious. Good enough that you could take the sauce home. This finger licking dish says it all. Excellent customer service. Fast service for drinks. And is warm and cosy in the winter. Although it is kinda small, it didn't really affect my ratings.

Visited the Chidlow Tavern last night, Wednesday 14th October 2015. WOW! What a place. The food was great, the place is classic and the folk extremely friendly. Music? They have a live band playing every Wednesday night. Band leader Brett encourages everyone to participate in the band by either singing or playing an instrument on stage. Simply awesome. Will definitely be at the Chidlow Tavern on a Wednesday on my next visit to Australia.
