The food was pretty good but a big gap between meals coming out was annoying, but left standing at the bar for a drink and then the 1 of 4 staff wanders down to the other of end of the for petson that just turns. Not surprising I left and thought stuff waiting for another drink. Yep hard to get half decent staff and service.

What a great place. Nice atmosphere, very friendly and knowledgeable bar tender and absolutely amazing food. Way too much as well, we did share the chicken schnitzel and barely managed to finish it between 2 of us. Will definitely come again.

Parmie was great, kids menu was a large meal but my madam ate it all she LOVED it (steak and chips)and her desert. my steak- ordered rare and bloody after explaning in great detail how i wanted it slightly still mooing but not 'blue' came out medium- slightly pink in the middle so i took it back, the next was better but still not rare, not bloody. i get this this problem all the time, at many restaurants all in all it was a great dinner with great service and friendly staff.

The sporys bar had very friendly staff and a real old school pub atmosphere. They had 20 beers on tap including several craft beers that are sold at their otrle shop which is quitw a gem for craft beers. Even though i was dressed in a suit i was made very welcome by all the peoplein high vis gear... Cool place

It seems like an Oldies tavern but rowdy outside, so as you'd expect, the food is excellent. Booking is appreciated, but you have to call their Bistro number, and the website is a bit hard to read. Surf & Turf I ordered medium and got a well-done but amazingly tender steak, So -1 to your preferred level., though it seems the kitchen knows what they're doing, so you won't be disappointed anyway. Prawns were great and thankfully light on the garlic. Chips were super crunchy yet not oily and good portion size. The salad was standard but fresh and the perfect amount on the plate. Entrees The fried chicken was good, the garlic bread was forgettable, and the poppers were well spicy. Drinks I had Peach Lemonade, and it was very nice and also dangerous as it doesn't taste like a drink with 4%. Pricing was average, and they have a vast selection available and on-tap. Service It's only now as I'm thinking back, that I recognise how great the staff were. I remember the night for great food, and the conversation with friends. Quick, busy and polite staff. Helpful, thankful and not intrusive. All were exceptional, and I don't remember any one of the 4 or 5 staff I interacted with except for a sense of friendly smiles and effortlessness. Atmosphere The table was relatively small but a blessing as being closer meant we didn't strain our voices through the evening, and it was an easy volume to chat away. The floor channel for the partition caused a few surprises when the chair leg dropped in it; what's a night without some surprises? Family Whilst I wouldn't go out of my way to take my family here for a meal, if I was a local I't'd be on our list. If it is rowdy like that outside all the time though, it'd be the long instead of the short list. Overall The price was surprisingly good and even more so considering the quality. Great food and good value.

Nice venue good range of beers on tap, workers bar is good two pool tables but it's in the front of the tab machines and situated right in the middle of the front spaces. Could probably do with just one eight ball table instead of two. Main eating area has lots of space foods kinda exy. One scooner of premium beer was $15. So watch what you buy or if your cashed up the pubs your oyster.

Excellent food. Had not been for a while and was pleasantly surprised. I had the Tom Yum soup, my partner the BBQ Ribs. Great local beers on tap as well. We will be back. Thank you to the chef and staff at the Kardy!

My family"s experience at "The Kardy" was favourable. I found the staff very helpful, my food consisted of, for starters, the Crab & Corn Soup which was delish. I thought I was on top a good thing. This was not followed by anything near as exciting although it sounded great - the "Sticky Pork Belly" with Apple Sauce and Coleslaw". Let's call it the "Dried Out Pork Belly with Apple Sauce" and a dollop of Coleslaw - not particularly memorable. I think I should have had the "Lamb Shanks" which I was told were lovely. The toilets in the dining room were a disgrace with the stale odour of urine wafting into the eating area. The toilets at the far end of the dining room were much better but obviously "The Kardy" is requiring a huge facelift. It made the whole eexperience, what positives there were, a big disappointment.

The lady who served me drinks, thank you, you were quick and efficient. To the cook who made the pizza I ordered, it was delicious, thank you. Whoever controls the music, turn it down PLEASE, when the live band started I couldn't hear my friends, we were seated outside, away from the music and it was still defeaning. Also get better music because they suck.

Nice atmosphere. Even though we had a large table the timing for service was questionable. Kitchen seemed to be running dishes out quite slow all night. Took us just over 35 minutes to get most of our meals. One of out table members got his food immediately after ordering and the rest had to wait. He was long finished before we were served. Most of the food on my plate was nice. Two lukewarm scallops and two pieces of dry chalky deep fried fish let the dish down. The prawns were fantastic and the squid was cooked well and plentiful.

Really disgusted at the fact I had to stand up for the woman working behind the bar as she was hurled abuse from a patron and stood over her. Where were the managers or another men behind the bar..sad on management.. The lady behind the bar rocked. But safety for bar staff needs to be looked at.

The service, food & drinks were just perfect! I ordered the porterhouse steak and it was cooked perfectly. The mash...ohhh the mash was so smooth and delicious! Made catching up with my girlfriends such a memorable experience. Thank you Kardy staff!

The meal/service was excellent. Unfortunately the Karaoke was not. There was excellent singers singing however there were more not so good ones. In order for improvement the standard has to lift. This can't happen when there is people just screaming to music.

Great restaurant. My family and I visit very often and they serve a large variety of delicious meals. The salad bar is freshly stocked with many choices of different salads and starters. The building has a large stage that often hosts live music and every week they have trivia nights and other activities. Overall a great place, would recommend!

We hadn't been to the Kardy for years, SO impressed!! Didn't take any pictures but we were a party of 9 and everyone was really happy. I had a starter (Bao) as my main and it was PLENTY. My mother choose from the seniors menu and got $7 off AND a glass of wine. Plus you have the extensive salad bar. Overall, super impressed, and we'll be back!

Enjoyed the salad bar and they have a range of beers which which is a pleasant departure from the homogeneous industry offerings. The barman who served me was very knowledgeable about the beer giving excellent service. The menu, though is standard overpriced fare. Sausages ("bratwurst") and mash is filling but lackluster and not worth $25. Fishersherman's plate looked good and maybe worth $32 but it's out of my price range.

After going downhill some time ago in the food department I gave this local another chance based on it's strong history. Extremely surprised at the change. Great new menu with heaps of options for everyone. Food ordered was cooked perfectly, hot and presented well. Well worth the effort again!

This is my local. I have lived in the area since 2005. Over the years it has gone thru ebbs and flows of being a good pub. Currently it is a magnificent pub for food and drinks. Also good patrons and staff are a great bunch of people. Food is always of high quality. I would recommend a Friday night visit for some Karaoke and food, you don't even need to participate just being there is great fun!

We LOVED the food and the staff were wonderfully friendly BUT there was a quiz night on taking up half the restaurant and it was ear splittingly loud. Too loud for a restuarant with other patrons wanting conversation over their meals. We requested to be moved from our booth (we had booked) which was accommodated, but in the end we ate our main meal and left asap - didnt get desert - way too loud and uncomfortable. A real shame.

This pub is great it's like the 80s met the 2000s and had an identity crisis. I feel like I could get drunk here and loose my clothes and they still wouldn't kick me out. All in all a 10/10 experience

Having lived and shopped in the Kardinya area for over 40 years and being a regular diner at the Kardy tavern, all we can say is that the quality of service has indeed deteriorated in recent times since Con passed the ownership to his money hungry sons. A sad sight to see, but probably a typical example of the current privileged parasitic generation who are out for all they can get from the har d work of their parents. To Con, sincere thanks for the mant years of great service you afforded to the local populous of Kardinya before you handed the business over to your cretin sons.
