Went for a Saturday lunch, food was very disappointing. Food took ages to come out even though there was hardly anyone there. I had the wagyu beef burger and thre was way way too much mustard, surprise relish which wasn't listed on the menu, and the crispy bacon for $3 was definitely not close to crispy. My partner had the el diablo pizza that had a very soggy undercooked base and was not spicy. The venue itself was pretty good and drinks were good.

Good pub fare; rump steak was very tender and tasty, with a very nice mushroom sauce. Chips were very thick cut and delicious. Only things I would have changed are a bit more side salad and chips not placed under the sauce/steak as it made some of them a bit soggy.

I tried the new menu with a few friends last Friday night and on our table we tried the Chicken Parmi, El Diablo Pizza, a burger and some chips to share. Each of us were really happy with the price, wait time, display and taste of the food, and were all very full afterwards! Seemed to be about 75% capacity, so a few tables spare, but still had an awesome vibe with numerous tv screens showing sports and good music being played throughout the night. Waiters and bar staff were really nice too.

The atmosphere is relaxing, staff members are friendly. One thing that I can suggest is to have a cover to reduce the sunset lights directly on the face. The food was fantastic. I had a rare steak and it's soft and enjoyable. The chips were cut thick with the skin still attached, it gave different experience eating chips. Overall, as a non-regular bar/pub goer I was impressed with the Village Bar, will definitely visit again.

Can't comment about all their meals as I just had a stake once, which was low in salt with no salt shaker on any tables nor at the counter for me to pick up. Am I interested in lining up in a line to ask for salt shaker, leaving my stake on the table to get cold!? The cook and staff must have been very confident about their cooking!!! Good thing about this place is that you can have a lot of guests and run your music and dance, while not paying for the place but the meals being served. So I give it 5 star, something I very rarely do!

Review updated. I tried the Wednesday night $10 Mexican Parmy with a $5 pint of Swan. Food was yummy, the chicken wasn't a sliver and it was far better than similarly priced Parmy nights elsewhere. Much better than it used to be.

We had a few drinks and the $10 steak and it was good. Despite getting the wrong steaks (we just swapped them over) they were cooked the way we wanted. The only thing we didn't like is that the smoking area was open to the inside of the bar so all the cigarette smoke just wafted in.

We had a function here for about 100 on Dec 30 and Ross and Ali made it so easy for us. They were great to communicate with in the lead up to the party and were really easy going on the day. The food and space were great and everyone had a wonderful time. Would definitely recommend this place for a party!

Lovely local bar. Bar service only. I ordered the barramundi with red pepper sauce and risotto. This had to be one of the nicest pub meals I've had in a long time. This meal actually was better than most restaurants I've been to. The skin was salty and crispy, but not too crispy. The music wasn't too loud, unlike most pubs nowadays. A very nice evening overall.

It's not very cheap but the food is good. But there pizzas need to be better. Had them to dry, too soggy and weird topping choices. There choice of drink are good but no good ciders on tap.

Upon entering the fine establishment, you're greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The current pint war in subiaco has brought forth unseen prices for pints and out of the many bars participating in the war the Village bar has by far the best feel to it. Would catch up with friends/10. This has the superhardcase guarantee.

Nice bar with plenty of space. The menu is very varied and the squid is telly nice as well as the chicken ceasar salad. Toilets are clean. Outdoor area for smokers. Nice bocconcini balls. Gets a bit noisy when too many people.

Food was great but waiting over an hour for food on a Friday at lunch is not ideal. Especially when we found out after we had ordered, while the restaurant was relatively empty, that a group of 30 had pre-ordered. Would have been good to know that before we ordered.
