We have always driven past the Wokalup on the way to Bunbury and thought nothing of it. On our way back to Waroona we looked up The Wokalup and read that they were having a family friendly New Year event, bouncy castles, live music. We decided to stop in for a drink. From the front The Wokalup looks like a country pub well worn and aged but well looked after to preserve the history of what it once was. We walked in the back entrance of The Wokalup half expecting dark wood décor with aged patterned carpet. WHAT A SURPRISE. They have a microbrewery on site, and have fully renovated the back area. Beautiful lush grass laid picnic tables and bean bags for seating. There's a large sandpit with a boat, mud kitchen and some nature play tree stumps for the kids. Plenty of outdoor games Jenga, quoits, pick up sticks etc. They had a bouncy castle for the kids and live music, we went in for one drink and the bar staff told us we were welcome to stay for the first few songs of the band but if we wanted more time we would need to purchase an arm band for $25. For anyone with kids, you would understand how difficult it is to go out and have a relaxing time with the kids and not have to chase them, growl them for being a kid and just wish you had of stayed home. The kids ran wild, no one cared. We witnessed the most amazing sunset, setting over the Harvey farmlands, the atmosphere was so fantastic we bought an armband and ended up staying another 4-5 hours. People bought their own picnic blankets and chairs to sit on the grass and watch the music and I must say this was the best way to spend New Year's eve. We will be regulars here from now on for sure. Don't judge a book by it's cover!!

Food was unexpectedly good. Looks like a normal dinghy country pub, but round the back is a new microbrewery with great food and a nice atmosphere. Staff had slightly odd serving skills (like removing plates with food still being eaten on them? And popping up at totally random times) but otherwise was a good night out. Would benefit from some signage out the front to I dictate the brewery was there!? Though maybe they want to keep it secret!

Playground and setup was good. Inside was warm with the fireplace . The new microbrewery was nice. Needed some music or something for atmosphere. Kids cheese burger was big, chicken parmigiana was yummy but the chips were disappointing they tasted like they had been sitting awhile.

The sirloin steak and pulled brisket were both nice, although it took 45mins to wait for the food to arrive. Otherwise nothing to fault. Staff were friendly and accommodating. A generally good tavern to stop by for a drink and feed in the Harvey region.

The combined Rotary Clubs of Pinjarra and Harvey had an evening meeting at the Tavern. It was hugely successful and a great time was had by all. The meals were excellent and the kitchen did a mighty job to deliver over 30 meals in the space of about 15 minutes. The bar was also very well run and well priced with pleasant efficient service . All told, a very pleasant experience at a very well run venue. Thanks guys and very well done to you all. 🌞

Fantastic experience!! 40+ guests for an 18th birthday dinner. Everyone loved the food, well done to the chief and kitchen staff. Bar staff were super friendly and the mageress was hands on and made sure everything went smoothly and we had everthing we needed. We will all come here again!!!! Highly recommend 😁

The old pub has a new brewery located at the rear which is fantastic. If heading down the southwest highway drop in for great food and an ale

The service was very friendly and the food came out reasonably quick. However I did have concerns about the Fish and Chips..it said on the menu that the fish was Red Emperor, this is mis leading it was not Red Emperor it was Hake. The other concerning thing was that the Kitchen staff were handling the salad, bread rolls and food that was not being cooked with their hands and not wearing rubber gloves. I as a customer was very concerned about this practice as I am not aware of their personal hygiene. Lucky I gave 3 stars...probably 1star would be more realistic.

We were pleasantly surprised when we visited for lunch. The staff were friendly, we didn't have to wait long for our order, a good range of meals to choose from for lunch, very good servings and really good food. Oh and the beer was nice too! And very reasonably priced. We will be back!

Definitely a five-star Tavern. Sure it doesn't look like it. Do yourself a favour and go. You won't be disappointed. The pork belly had lots of fat-- just the way I like it. The toilets are the best for a 100 miles. Old style outfit but good quality. The beer they brew is excellent.

We had a wonderful meal here last might. The steak was cooked exactly as we asked, the beef burger was so delicious , and the chicken parmigiana was cooked to perfection. Great potato wedges and sour cream. Easily the best meal we have had in a very long time. The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The atmosphere was great, which all made for a very enjoyable evening. Thanks guys for a great night out, we will be back again soon.

Popped in for breakfast. It was amazing ! The hubby had the big woky breaky. Such great value and huge !! I have food issues and they catered for me being gluten free and vegan. Nothing was too much bother. Super friendly. Plenty of room. Had an outdoor area undercover with a play area for the kiddies as well.

We stayed overnight in winter. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable and warm. The room was far superior than what we were expecting so huge bonus. Traffic noise is loud but expected being on a major highway (perhaps double glazing in the future). My only critique would be for kettle, tea and coffee facilities we really missed our wakeup cuppa. Overall a pleasant stay.

Awesome pub. Had the best chicken schnitzel I've ever tasted. Succulent and tasty. Wife's Surf N Turf was nice too. Garlic sauce and prawns and were delightful. Salads fresh and tasty.

My wife has some dietary issues which can sometimes pose difficulties in some eateries. We visited the the Wokalup tavern a few months ago and the staff were excellent in accommodating her needs and did it graciously. My meal was also excellent pub style food. Definitely be eating there again when down that way

Expect big things from this small country tavern. Old school at the front, brand new modern brewery/ restaurant dining out the back. Beer garden, kids playground, bottle shop, tab with plenty of parking spaces. Family owned and operated. Awesome service, awesome food and a great atmosphere. U won't be disappointed

We were recommended Wokalup Tavern by 2 places in town (Harvey Cheese & Big Orange) SO GLAD we took their advice as the food was amazing & so was the service. I had the half serve of ribs (see my photo) which were the best I’ve ever had & hubby had the beef burger. Thanks for a great lunch!

Nice pub for an arvo stop & beer. Not impressed with the feed I had though. Ordered fish & salad. The salad was a small handful of what looked like what you'd get from a Coles mixed lettuce bag with a basic dressing & 2 tomato quarters while the fish portion was very small compared to everywhere else.

I got worked up because of the long queue but lady was nice to give me an express service considering my situation being alone with my 4 year old. If you are visiting the area, you cannot miss their steak!

Great Pub with warm friendly service and atmosphere, under cover playground in outdoor area for kids to play, and shelted beer garden out of cold wind to relax and have a drink, beautiful warm fireplace inside and the food on 3 trips here has been deliscious and plentiful. A little TAB corner for a cheeky punt. Nice spot to call in on a ride or drive down south!

Lunch at the "Woky" Wokalup tavern was everything that's been trumpeted to me for a long time. A short drive from Bunbury up the Southwest highway was not hard to take for quality food such as it was. My Sweetlip Snapper and top class chips, accompanied by an excellent salad really, was a simple elegant sufficiency. My friend enjoyed the excellent tasty ribs and salad, and we left completely satisfied. Congratulations ladies..you kicked a goal!

Today we gathered for Mums memorial,we do this every year,we thought we had found a gem in the Wokalup tavern. Your prices ticked the box,the ambience ticked the box,your meals were delicious . Unfortunately 4 of our party did not get a meal. I booked for today as there were 16 of us and I believe this was the polite thing to do,some customers who ordered after us were served before us,the waitress did explain that she wad new and apologised that their meals were missed,fair enough but I had done all I could to make things as easy as possible for your staff and apologies don't feed people.Your staff were friendly but this is an important occasion for my family and prior to the meal we had already discussed returning here for a celebration in October. Sadly this business that I have heard so many good things about let us down today.
