Had lunch there today with my brothers. Being the middle of winter we sat inside in one of the nice warm rooms. The service was very good and always helpful. The food was good sized portions and very enjoyable. We were not hassled and enjoyed three long hours catching up.

This place has so much character! Great outdoor areas, plenty of parking, big playground for the little ones and a wonderful experience overall. I wish there was 6 stars instead of 5 when rating the Alroy Tavern. I have frequented the Alroy off and on for about 7 years now and I have always been super impressed. To start with, the service is outstanding. I always feel so welcomed by all staff. And the food is really satisfying. Almost as soon as the order is in, I can hear the head chef calling it out to his staff and before I know it, my droolworthy, consistently delicious, piping hot, super fresh, extra generous serving of a meal is being delivered to my table. Fabulous!! 👌

A pub that occupies an old house which was built in the 1880s. The building has been beautifully restored and the verandas are cool. It also has a large undercover outdoor area as well as a garden with tables and benches. I didn't have time to taste the $12 "Lunch Specials" but will go back to try their "Cheese & Bacon Burger."

This place is a good family spot with a great outdoor dining area. The veranda right around the front of the Victorian style house also provides a different dining or place to sit and have a drink. The food is good pub food and down well. The licensee and chef takes huge pride in the food and the pub. This is a great family pub with a park and large grass area for the kids.

Great pub. Great food. A few disable parks and a gentle ramp up the side of the main entry make it easily accessible to the less mobile. Plenty of outdoor areas. Gets very busy at times. Especially for lunch at the weekend. Food is reasonably priced. Pre-mixed coke not so - $6 a glass! Costs them about 40c (if that!) Felt ripped off and penalised for being a non-drinker. Would still go there again for food though! LOL.

I've visited this place twice to eat with my family. The first time was lunch and was pretty good, wasn't really anything I could fault with expectations of typical pub food. The atmosphere here was warm and welcoming with very happy and helpful staff members. Tonight we visited for dinner and I wasn't pleased at all. I opted to have bernaise sauce with my chicken snitzel and am still regretting it now. The snitzel was cold and the crumbing was doughy and unpleasant. The bernaise sauce tasted off and I barely made it halfway through my meal before I was too sickened to finish. My 10yo son was the only one that was satisfied with his meal. I'd still come back to try something different that's about it.

This is a great pub. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The Chef at one point went around to all the tables to make sure the food was up to standard, which it was. Excellent pub food and reasonably priced. Outside they provide a good venue for family events and kid friendly with the play equipment. Outside areas are fitted with misting fans.

This is a place is a gem of you have kids, very nice outdoor playground, we happens to visit on the last day of the month where they have a petting zoo. The kids menu includes ice cream and it is a nice serve. Place was really packed when we arrived so the food took a fair bit too come, but the serve was nice and so was the flavour.

This place is a little hidden treasure.. when you park your car off a very busy intersection, you can start feeling the homeliness. Quiet pub with the most excellent cuisine. Best value for money and yes!! It's that pub where you go to have a five star meal for a pub price.. you can never find those places anymore. Where the chef is proud and confident enough to come and ask how the food he cooked was!!! If you are reading this review for a recommendation.. you just got it. Thank you Alroy!! I'll be back for my Wagyu steak, steam veg and best cooked extra crunchy chips for $15 Soon!!

Great old homestead that has been converted into a restaurant/bar. The meals are really well priced and they have daily dinner specials. Parking is readily available but there a few noticeable things that could use some attention. Just small cosmetic things. I know the chef there who is coincidentally the owner and if you ever have any issues he's more than happy to help you out. Staff are nice and polite, not many beers on tap but it's not really designed to be a 'pub.

The venue is so beautiful, so well looked after, the food was half decent but good for the price. The wait staff were lovely but had a bit of trouble with one of the lady bar tenders who were impatient with us which I find disrespectful. I myself am a waitress and I can understand the pressure but there was no need for the way she treated us and I am disappointed because everything else was great. Room for improvement.

An excellent place to enjoy some meals and each other's company in the setting of a heritage house, although their prices are substantially overpriced in my perspective. Although advised that the food would be served within 30 minutes during their busy time, both my items came within 15 minutes instead. The ladies there are fabulous and show great hospitality.

There was a wedding function on which caused this affect our meal. We waited a long time for table service before we found out we needed to go to counter... the waitress hadn't told us this when she sat us down at our table.

Different to anything else in the area. The grounds are well maintained and make it seem like you're somewhere far different. I like that the menu is ambitious and deviates from just the standard pub fare (though you can definitely still get the standards too). My salad had a bit too much dressing for my tastes, but I'm sure some people would be happy with it. It would be good if any of the specials/lunch specials included a vegetarian option, even just a burger or something. It would be a nice place to catch up with friends just for coffee and cake, or to bring a large group for lunch or dinner.

Staff super friendly, nice outdoor seating great for families and heaps of parking. Food can be a hit or a miss, schnitzel was fine, the fish however was plated on top of the chips with the lemon butter sauce poured over the top of it all, leaving the fish with no sauce and making the chips soggy.

Good was great and the staff are friendly. The prices are quite reasonable. They accept eftpos at the bar and there is a great little playground for the kids with some area to run around. We planned to have quite a few people for a work function that never turned up and the staff were very polite and helpful. Would recommend and plan to go again.

I am quite surprised by this place that apparently has been in this location since 1881. This is the first time I have been here today. I love the building and garden - well maintained and clean. The food was yummy for me and reasonably priced. Very busy but we didn't have to wait forever for the food. This place offers trafitional pub meals that come with meat, potato/mash and salads. They are very filling and you get value for money. They also cater to Gluten and Dairy free neefs. The pub is set in a lovely homestead and is family friendly with some play equipment in the garden at the back. They can also host events.

We have visited the Alroy many times, and have always found the food expensive. Depending on the menu, the choices can be quite good. When the $12 lunch was on offer, this was appealing to many, and it was obvious during the week, just how much busier it became. However yesterday my husband and I had lunch there, and I chose the morroccan burger (not a good choice). It was extremely bland, whereas morroccan seasoning usually has a bit of a kick to it. Also, the word burger indicates in general, a patty, this burger had strips of lamb with a little bit of rocket, no other salad and some aubergine. A bit of a waste of money all in all.
