R. d. G.Very friendly service and we had a good meal for a reasonable price. The hotel does show its age however, a bit of sprucing up would not go astray. It is clean however.

6.Extremely friendly people, insanely fast service and some of the best food I've had, and they all come in giant portions for a fairly reasonable price! It's become a family favourite.

That's where it ended.
Chips were ordinary.They put some weird tasting mustard sauce on the salad which was awful, but that's not the worst part.... they didn't even tell you that the sauce was gonna be on there! Disgraceful.

Food is generally very good.
I believe the best in Bargo and Tahmoor, but can be inconsistent at times.
Only had one time where the food was no good and I was actually sick.
I was given a refund.
Have had a few burnt dishes served up more than once.
Service has been better lately at the bistro and very good at the bar. I'm not a fan of the recent changes to the pub it was a step backwards. Can be very noisy and busy at times.
Foul language and inconsiderate people a plenty. Lots and lots and lots of smokers! Both in and out of the smokers areas with smoke blowing back into all areas of the pub and bistro and outdoor areas. Ash and ashtrays in food areas. "Massive detraction". Hygiene seems to have improved a little since my last review with exception to the pokie room which is feral and unhygienic.
While not restricted to here alone I've never seen any of the men here wash their hands after using the bathroom! Not once in more than 5 yrs.
The best bit is the next cigarette you light you're putting all the dirty germs from the guy before you all over your lips and mouth. Lol.

Still has the traditional public bar (Southern Highlands Pale Ale on tap atm but another pub that doesn't know what stout is) but the lounge is decidedly family-friendly with open seating around an log fire and kid's playground. Excellent bistro giving big pub meals with good value specials.

L. W.Accomodation is very basic, rooms just big enough for the bed. There is a shared bathroom, kitchen and lounge area.
Bed was relatively comfortable. And the room was clean. No tv or lamps, just bed and side tables.
Bathroom door on the toilet did not have a lock that you could use.
Kitchen sink was full of dirty dishes and communal lounge room had empty alcohol tins everywhere.
