Lovely old pub in a most beautiful part of the world. Green fields, colourful flowers, dry stone walls, trim hedges and character filled old homes all around. Horses clipped clipped by and friendly farm dogs said hullo. You could almost be in the English countryside. The pub’s log fire was on for the chilly summer’s day. We had a drink in the expensive beer guarded to enjoy the views. Then moved inside for dinner. The young staff were very friendly. And the food arrived promptly and was excellent quality. We will be back for another very pleasant weekend drive from Sydney.

Absolutely stunning grounds to dine in.. Beautiful outdoor areas in a stunning old hotel 🏡
The views out the back were beautiful 🌄
Food was really nice and well presented. Loved the ambience of the whole place.
Definitely one to visit 👌
Plenty of room for large events and booking tables wasn't a problem 👍

This review is for the restaurant.
Visited on a day that decided to rain on us. This meant that only indoor seating was available which really limits the options. Many tables appeared to be reserved for certain events but we were lucky to get a table as a couple was leaving.
You decide what you want to eat and drink and order at the bar and are given a buzzer. When your food is ready, take your buzzer to the kitchen, grab cutlery, salt, pepper and a tray and carry your food back to your table, but make sure someone stays at the table otherwise you risk losing your seat.
If you visit on a nice day, the outdoor area is beautiful. I'd like to come back when the weather is better to enjoy the food outdoors.
I know its a pub in the country, but it would be so much better if they would do table service or monitor the reserved tables. One of the tables was booked for 12, we arrived at 1.30 and it was empty. clearly a no show.

1-1/4 hour drive from the Sutherland Shire to the beautiful southern highlands is a regular trip for us there is just so much to see and do. Today we found a historic country pub in Burrawang with the most stunning view of picturesque countryside from the outdoor area out the back of the pub, we sat inside beside a cosy fire (yes it is summer but it was a cool rainy day). We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch of calamari, golden haloumi fries and chicken schnitzel with kipfler potato salad, yum my mouth is still watering. The chef even came out of the kitchen to double check our order as we made a little variation to the schnitzel meal, which I have to say was the best schnitzel I've had! Staff were very helpful and friendly. A gorgeous little town with the best pub and we have been to a few in the Southern Highlands. Thank you for a lovely few hours!

Great country town pub. Helpful friendly staff.Good wine selection, Foods good Pub style. Lovely outdoors area.Very busy on weekends

Fantastic old pub in the Southern Highlands South West of Sydney🇦🇺. 2 hour drive🚙roughly, don't speed🚔. The atmosphere is fantastic, takes you back to the old days. Good rates, great staff, great food, beer🍻, lots to do around area. Fitzroy falls just for starters. Great history all over this area. Some fantastic old pubs all over the Southern Highlands. Great Australian countryside, fantastic tree colours in Autumn... Love it.👍
R. H.
Pleasant location for good meals n beers. Burrawang burger surprising good with little oil. Nothing much to see in the village though.

We stayed at the Burrawang Village Hotel while down in the Southern Highlands on a golf trip.
The Accomodation was good for the price. Beds super comfortable and all the ammenities kept clean daily.
As far as the actual operations of the pub downstairs after golf I have to give the Wang a 10/10.
The Decor of the pub is perfect for a country hotel and there are even fireplaces running throughout the pub to keep everyone warm.
The bistro at the Wang is fantastic. I had three meals there at night and they were all great. The Maughers 500gm rib eye on the bone was very memorable, I can’t wait to have it again one day.
D. N.
Food was okay but not with the price. When we walked in the staff didn't offer much help until we asked. When collecting good they weren't the kindest either.
J. A.
Nice staff and great food. Their Chicken Curry was better than any Indian restaurant. We'll be back.
d.
I had lunch here at the Burrawang Village Hotel on my 50th birthday during October 2019 and what a splendid day it was.
Beautiful scenery from where we had lunch which was great and service was excellent.
P. G.
Good simple food, beer, facility, & location, average service but its tough times staff wise so I dont hold that against them.
P. B.
Dropped in for lunch and were pleased we did so. Food was lovely, peaceful location.
J. C.
A clean comfy room and nice bed with white sheets, just how I like them! It has 3 full bathrooms like in a house - where, once you are in it, you have the whole bathroom to yourself so it is private. The pub itself is gorgeous and the food and service is very good. The bars and seating areas are cosy with real wood fires. Overall it is well kept. There are beautiful views from the garden. At $100 a night including a $15 breakfast in the General Store close by, this is a great place to stop by and have a good time with friends and loved ones.
A. H.
Enjoyed this nice country pub with decent meals by a fire place.

Great atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Will definitely be back.🙂
We only dined at the restaurant and didn't stay in the hotel.
h.
Superb little pub! Stopped by here on the way through to Mittagong this afternoon. Gorgeous beer garden with great views. Reminded me of little country pubs back in my home the UK. Will come and visit again soon!

We stumbled upon this hotel when exploring the Robertson region and put it on the radar to visit for a lunch.
The historic hotel was build in the 1800s and is too adorable. Most of the original features remain so rather than big open rooms, there are smaller rooms across the main floor, a bar area, outside dining and a garden area. It’s super cute and cosy.
The menu is the typical bar menu you’d expect at a pub with general sizes and really tasty food. We ordered the bangs & mash, fish & chips and salt and pepper squid. All were really good but the bangers & mash truly rocked. The sausages are from local butchers and farmers.
All room and the bathroom are super clean and the bar staff friendly and efficient. All COVID guidelines followed. Highly recommend a day trip from Sydney to this wonder hotel and area.
J. H.
Great cosy Pub for a rainy day. We will definitely have to return to check out the fantastic looking garden when the weather is better. We both really enjoyed the lunch meals and there was a pretty decent selection of beers on tap.
M. T.
Love this little pub good beer food not bad .
A. O.
Absolute 5/5 stars. My group could only stay for one night but we will definitely be back. The Publican "Rat" is a top bloke, super easy going and always keen to accommodate our needs. The whole place has a super homely vibe and everyone is very friendly, not to mention it is very reasonably priced.
M. C.
Been here twice in the last two weeks. Both times were awesome. Friendly staff, great meals, and cold beer (the wine options were on point also). Cute, quaint, and a place to sit back and relax with family and friends.
T. E.
What a spot! Views and a fabulous pub. Not the best place if you’re hungry. We watched 2 of our friends eat for 45minutes. When we enquired why we waited an hour for our pub meal we were met with shrugged shoulders. Hope the service improves 👍
G. M.
Some great pub good! Fish & Chips were stellar and would highly recommend. Nice interior. Feels like a cool, inner Sydney pub, but its located in the cute town of Burrawang.
N. H.
Came here for dinner with friends. Food was all great quality and not too long waiting. Quite pricey, but good quality. Absolutely amazing venue, great ambience, fires burning and outdoor fairy lights. Wow.
C. C.
We have been coming here for lunch for many years. It is consistently good food and the service gets better each and every time.
The large amount of outdoor seating gets taken very quickly so be sure to book. There are large marquees outside so it’s possible to eat here even when raining.
I highly recommend!
N. B.
We arrived by car on holiday from sydney and found the beer was cold with a good head.
The entree of squid was huge just like the chips.
Dont have a large breakfast the day you go to Burrawang Village Hotel, or you will not fit it in.
We enjoyed the view from the hotel and the staff were helpfull and friendly. We found street parking easily on a weekday. I would be happy to return as my family enjoyed the visit.
M. 2.
Phenomenonal Establishment, with Great food and Reschs on tap. 👍🏼 🍻
s. p.
Love the atmosphere and food. And also the staffs.
S. H.
Gorgeous pub with an expansive outdoor area with birds flying by and an amazing view of the rolling hills. Food was generous, fresh and delicious. We went for the $15 rump special on a Wednesday which is hard to beat value for money. The rump was perfectly cooked and so tender and the pepper sauce packed full of flavour! Also ordered the duck spring rolls from the specials board which were great.
A MUST VISIT!
D. H.
Lovely country pub, especially in a sunny afternoon but very busy so a huge wait to order food
Food was great but overpriced - $25 for a Simple burger - strange that everything seems to be $25 which coincidently is the same as the refund for a Dine and Discover voucher.....
P. h.
Great view out the back.
menu look good will have to a meal next visit.
Staff were friendly n helpful
V. T.
Lovely lunch in a warm + welcoming place
S. P.
Amazing location and good selection of drinks. We stayed in the rooms upstairs and be warned that they can get really very cold over winter. They give you heaters and electric blankets but you'll still feel the cold.
K. R.
Great little pub with a gorgeous outlook.
Lovely staff and delicious food. Recommend the pork belly burnt ends. Smokey and tender.
J. C.
Great pub, friendly locals and good food. There is also accommodation should you feel like indulging.
A. S.
Good food and atmosphere. The view is amazing from the courtyard and grassed area out the back. They have a firepit which is great, as it is freezing in winter. Alternatively they have seating an a fireplace inside.
M. W.
Lovely pub with excellent beer garden (backyard) with views o er the countryside. Good food and beer, just a little pricey.
D. D.
Great for alfresco dining and drinks . Lovely rear terraced garden to enjoy drinks or a meal with friends or family. Live music Sunday afternoon.
Friendly atmosphere . Good menu with tasty specials .
Child friendly. Booking required for dining at weekends.
J. H.
Fabulous pub in great historical village. Excellent food and great outdoor area with lovely shady old trees. Live music was an added bonus.
C. C.
One of the best place for lunch in the Southern Highlands. Enjoyed the nice outdoor sitting, with good view.
E. J.
This has quickly become the only place I go to for a cold one. Staff are really friendly, the food that I've seen served looks like high quality stuff - haven't tasted it yet though.
Atmosphere is really nice, it's warm and welcoming. The outside beer garden area trumps the majority of beer gardens I've been to, it's absolutely beautiful.
I refuse to go to Robertson Inn now because it pales in comparison to Burrawang Village Hotel on every level. Coming here makes you realise how terrible the service is elsewhere.
Without a doubt the nicest pub I've been to in Australia.
K. S.
What a great little gem if a pub! Food was delicious, atmosphere was awesome, the pub grounds were immaculate and cosy. A must do if you are in that area
G. P.
Could just be because it was Anzac Day but I ordered a Salt & Pepper Squid for $15 which I thought was amazing because pub meals come with chips &/or salad. It was a decent serve of squid but it was enough to feed a child. All it came with was a beautiful dipping sauce & a chunk of lemon. I was very shocked. The meals used to be fantastic! As I said, could've just been because they had a set menu for Anzac Day.
L. P.
Nice country pub with a great beer garden. Couple of good quality pale ales on tap too. Didn't get to try the food as the bistro closed at 8:30pm but that's not an unreasonable time.
M. G.
Food was ok but nothing amazing. Had the squid and also some chips. Beer garden out the back is very nice but the access to and from the bar creates a traffic jam of people bringing food out and people going inside.
J. K.
Great food. Good beer. Great location. Nice n cosy + fire place. Has to be one of the nicest little pubs ive been to.
R. V.
A classic country pub with one of the best beer gardens in NSW. Great range of beers and good food options with sweeping Southern Highlands views. What more could you want?
S. C.
Amazing spot. Food was excellent, wide drink selection, staff were very welcoming. Will definitely be coming back.
D. S.
Stayed in one of the Spa suites. Fantastic hospitality and the rooms were great. The spa however is only designed for one person at a time (although can just fit 2 people) Would have preferred a proper 2 person spa.
Had dinner in the restaurant on the Saturday night, such a nice setting next to the fireplace.
Would definitely recommend and we will be back. Thankyou
P. W.
Nice old pub.
Friendly staff
M. S.
The Southern Highlands is great for a country drive to get out of the city to check out all the little towns & villages & this pub is one of my favourite finds that I've stumbled upon.
Burrawang itself is a tiny village in the middle of Moss Vale, Robertson, Bowral & Kangaroo Valley near Fitzroy Falls so is a great position to stop for a drink & bite to eat.
The pub itself is a beautiful old building with fire places & lounges for colder days & nights with massive well manicured gardens at the rear with a spectacular outlook in fine weather.
The restaurant is very good with a wide variety of options at very reasonable prices with mainly locally sourced ingredients as are many of the drinks at the bar.
Onsite accommodation is available but I've never stayed there so can't vouch for it either way.
B. H.
We went here for lunch and it was perfect! The food was delicious and the setting was beautiful. Such a charming old pub with a gorgeous garden out the back.
M. M.
On a nice day it is a great place to sit out the back in the garden. Room for the kids to run around or play a game. Food is fairly typical pub fare. Prices are reasonable.
V. T.
Great little country pub with hood food, beer and wine. Staff are great too.
D. P.
Great place to have a cold beer and a delicious steak. Very pleasant interior.
A. F.
Comfortable, good food and beer, clean toilets friendly staff.
L. P.
Best burgers ever! has a great terrace at the back of the pub which is a great spot to have a celebration with family and friends. Inside the pub is clean and has a very friendly vibe. Highly recommended if you are passing through the area.
K. C.
Lovely food and cozy hotel
J. D.
Very comfortable renovated country pub in an idyllic, quiet rural village setting. Friendly hotel staff, both in the bar and the kitchen/dining area. I went with the Bangers & Mash, my wife had the Broccolini & Fetta Canelloni, we enjoyed our lunch so much we couldn't resist visiting the kitchen and complimenting the chef. Comfortable outdoor setting to enjoy a lunch and quiet drink. Highly recommended.
L. J.
Great food, outlook and staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Certainly a great place for luck or take away meal.
M. B.
One of the best gourmet sausages and mash I've seen, and the pan fried barramundi was cooked perfectly.
On the downside... pork ribs special was ordered by two of us, only to be cancelled one by one when they realised they'd run out. Also, I think the generic pub grub salad needs to change.
B. G.
Only had a desert as not wanted to eat any more at Robertson Inn. Creme brulee was lovely though not convinced mango sorbet was actually a sorbet. Too creamy and not very much mango. Beer and service was nice.
S. A.
Great atmosphere for a ale or 2...excellent food...top shelf service
D. C.
Lunch in the backyard on a beautiful day. Should give it one star to keep people away but five stars it was.
S. W.
Great place for lunch! Good food and a large outdoor dining area.
B. S.
Quite the hidden gem! Gorgeous grounds & views out the back. The meals were generous and delish!
A. S.
Fantastic lunch, interesting menu of pub favorites plus some other great choices. Beautiful outlook from the beer garden and friendly service.
E. L.
Nice back garden overlooking rolling hills. Friendly staff. Good speedy pub food .
M. M.
Nice old country pub. Food was good. Lovely beer garden out the back
C.
Okay pub but the foods not that great anymore. We've been here before and the meals were amazing but this time everything was overcook, under seasoned and small portions. Considering the price and the distance we drove to get there it was definitely a bit disappointing. The live band was pretty good though.
D. N.
Nice view and beer garden. Pretty average food. No gravy on steak or schnitzel was a pretty lazy effort.
T. A.
My family and I really enjoyed going to the Burrawang pub, although there was a Christmas party with 60 people outside the food was delicious and the staff still managed to cater to us despite the crowd. Beautiful Southern Highland feel definitely would go back.
T. W.
Beautiful Burrawang! The BV Hotel was as always great - accommodation is fairly basic but very comfy beds and slept like a log! Could have been helped by great meal, G&T and couple of glasses of Pinot Noir but who was counting for our girlie catchup. Lovely staff too.
N. C.
Food is good but cold in back indoor eating area near kitchen
R. C.
Nice pub. The chef Sebastian is very accommodating if you are coeliac.
G. P.
My daughter's wedding & reception took place, at the hotel, last saturday 23/3/19. A great venue with great views overlooking a valley. The staff couldn't have have been more helpful.
S. S.
Beautiful Pub, very friendly staff. Best burgers 🍔🍔 will be back
T. B.
I am currently making sweet sweet love to 400gms of tender juicy rib eye Perfection, in front of a cracking view from the beer garden. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a good meal and cold beer.
D. H.
Classic country pub with good beer and food. It's cosy inside with an open fireplace or enjoy the lovely garden if it's a nice day
S. C.
Great country pub. Food, service and atmosphere was all great. Well worth the visit.
C. K.

Friendly staff and service, lunch was not over large but the burger was perfectly cooked with top ingrediants used - the beetroot chutney was wow!
Grog and wine top shelf!

Will be coming back thats for sure!

R. L.
Trendy and vintage all in one - friendly pub with a great atmosphere and excellent food, beautiful garden in summer and a fire in winter. They also offer some accomodation.
M.
Beautiful spot, fantastic food friendly and very efficient service..Excellent pub..
A.
Great meal and good portions. Worth a visit
J. M.
A nice place but they could use more staff, it was busy when I was there, the tables needed cleaning etc.. minimal COVID measures in place!
M. v. G.
It's been a while since we have visited the Burrawang Hotel, mainly because the food was pretentious and expensive. We had heard it was under new management so decided to try it again. WELL PLEASED! A small but manageable menu, something for everyone's taste and reasonably priced.
J. R.
Perfect location, lovely old pub. The food is a bit average for price.
u.
Central to the village - grab a space out the back with the lovely lawn and views over the rolling hills - busy kitchen but food looked expensive with $30 dishes so most seemed to be buying the chips which looked nice and golden.
K. B.
Left my bag at the restaurant and they very kindly tracked me down to tell me I’d left it there! Restored my faith in humanity!
M. B.
Lovely old pub. Gardens were exceptional. Food was excellent.
