Absolutely brilliant service in a gorgeous setting. Rebecca Savage was attentive and swift to deliver our drinks and food, which was all delicious examples of standard pub far with small but interesting twists. Highly recommend stopping by for a drink or a feed.

Live music seems to be drawing people. The food on the odd occasion I've eaten is pricey the pizza it really wasn't anything to get excited about. Lately they have been advertising cheaper options like hot dogs and a beer deal. They have spent some money on the place and are trying to increase business, my advice try to make the food a little better for the prices, get some better quality music going. It's not a bad place it just needs some more effort and friendlier staff. I'd be more inclined to go to the local Kebarb Lebo food in darling St further down into Balmain to eat for 12 dollars.

Recently renovated and they've done a great job. Cold beer, good food and friendly staff. The separate dining area is spacious, clean and conducive to enjoying a meal with friends. The bar is great for having a beer with a mate. Reasonable prices for such a modern venue in a good location. Street parking is limited, so an Uber or sharing a car is recommended.

Woodfired pizza is pretty good with very nice salami as part of the toppings. Fish and chips was nice with light batter and flavour in the fish. Nice dining and seating area out the back to relax in away from the standard front bar.

We went for dinner on a Thursday night. They have a steak special on Thursday nights. We ordered salt and pepper calamari, sirloin steak and rump steak. All of the food was delicious! They have Guiness on tap and I had a lovely grenache. The service was great too. My only criticism is that we would have liked dessert however the kitchen was closed without warning( it was about 9.30pm). A heads up would be good in future, but I am not holding it against them! I will definitely go back and order my dessert in advance!

Went on a Tuesday night where they have a limited menu of a small selection of pizzas and pasta for $15 dollars. Ordered on pasta and one pizza and loved the food. The wood fired pizza was lovely and soft inside and crisp on the outside and generously topped. Loved it.

We have been to the cat and fiddle a few times since it’s reopened to enjoy a casual drink. The pub is great and has a great atmosphere. More recently we decided to try the restaurant. The service in the restaurant was great but the food didn’t back it up sadly. The menu selection felt a little lacking especially in the way of veggies even as a side plate option. My partner chose to just stick to the classic chicken parmi as it felt like a good go to option. This was the chicken parmi. We were unsure if mozzarella comes in slices but for a restaurant with a pizza menu u would have thought this wouldn’t be the best choice of cheese to use. They are a new establishment and it’s been a difficult time so I do understand if this may have been a momentary lapse but hopefully something they’ll improve on...

Had a great experience at Rita's last night. The room is fresh, beautifully decorated in calming green and white. Awesome food which we shared. Loved the cucumber salad, lamb merguez, flank steak. All of it was delish. Friendly staff with a can do attitude. Table service. Really nice selection of wines. Will definitely be back with a larger group so that I can try more of the menu. Well done team. Looking forward to seeing the new Rita's bar when it's done.

Lunch on Saturday for five, including my Mum who is in a wheelchair. Great advice on food and wine. My son had the udon bolognese, and the rest of us shared the whole slow roast lamb shoulder, pork schnitzel with bone in, beans, beetroot and chips. Plus great desserts including a spectacular peach tart. It was all delicious. Highly recommend.

I came for their pot pie but sadly they were sold out for the day. Fortunately they have excellent other delicious options available. Front: Fish of the day (Ocean Trout). Back: Fish and chips. Middle: Vesuvio pizza. Fish of the day had a beautiful crispy skin, smooth potato salad, a dollop of beautifuly tasty mayonnaise and side. I love the fresh take on Fish and chips, not greasy, light fresh flavor. Do away with the take away Fish and chips, you can't be disappointed with this version. Their woodfire pizza was light, full of flavor and never soggy. The dough was nice and crisp, all the things you want in a woodfire pizza. Top this with a fresh cold beer and it's a fantastic way to spend a nice Sunday afternoon. I'll definitely be back. I can't wait.

First time visit to the cat & fiddle and it looks great!! Recently renovated very tastefully, a good place for a Sunday afternoon lunch or a Friday night out. I would recommend a look at what the new owners are trying to achieve. We tryed a meat platter for two and it was cooked well. They also had some good ciders and ales on tap.

(Translated) Overall, a nice hotel. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, as is the bathroom (shared with the other guests). A star deduction because of the breakfast, which is rather poor (breakfast makes you with utensils are given) and there is no stove. For all those who only stay a few days and do not plan a luxury vacation. (Original) Insgesamt ein schönes Hotel. Die Zimmer sind sauber und hübsch eingerichtet, ebenso das Bad(dieses wird mit den anderen Gästen geteilt ). Ein Stern Abzug wegen dem Frühstück , welches eher dürftig ist( Frühstück macht man sich selbst mit Utensilien die gegeben werden) und es keinen Herd gibt. Für alle zu empfehlen die nur ein paar Tage bleiben und keinen Luxusurlaub planen.
