Great old pub. Staff are friendly. Live music on the weekend is a nice touch. Plentiful seating outdoors and a good area for children to run around and in. The food is proper pub grub. It’s not outstanding food but it’s a decent feed and reasonably priced (28 for a dozen oysters and 60 for a seafood platter for 2) so no complaints here. It’s a pub they way a country pub should be

The Catho Pub is a quaint little pub located in a really great small town location. It was a really nice drive in to Catherine Hill Bay with many renovated historical little houses lining the streets in the way to the pub. The Pub itself was nicely decorated and had a nice feel of a "small local pub". Plenty of COVID-safe markings and signage, and checking in was as easy as most places. The staff were friendly, and helpful and they had what seemed like a nice range of wines, and also some good beers on tap. The main reason I've only given it 3 stars was because of the food. I was with a friend, who ordered the steak, veggies and mash. They were out of mash so she ordered chips instead. That wasn't a huge deal, but when the meal was served, the "veggies" were about a cup's worth of frozen diced carrot, peas and corn. It was quite an underwhelming dish for the $32 she paid. I had a forkful of the veggies and they treated exactly like what they were. On the upside, the medium rare cooking of the steak was nicely done. The works burger I ordered was quite nice and the chips were cooked well. It was certainly a nice place to visit, just the 'restaurant order regret' was sitting quite high after getting the steak. I'll most likely to back. It's a beautiful place to visit, but I'll be looking quite closely at the menu next time, and maybe taking note of some other dishes that end up on other tables.

What a cute little place to visit. Old school pub, arrived a bit too late for the lunch time slot. But looking forward to returning one day to try the menu.. nice front verandah to sit out and enjoy a drink or 2, quiet street that I presume leads down to a beach.. very clean restrooms and friendly staff. On a busy sunday lunch through to afternoon with a great live band this pub does as best as it can with the resources. Food was well portioned and tasted as good as any good pub food. Beer is cold and crowd is good and easy going. If you are a pub snob then not your place. This is a great little pub with character and you get to drink you beer from glass even when they are busy

My girlfriend took me here for a Sunday outing (25/06/17) Very cool small rustic old pub, awesome beer garden out the back had an 80's glam rock revival band playing through the afternoon. Cue for food was out the front door but the wait was worth it. Would definitely do it again

Definitely a must in Catherine Hill! A historical pub with a lot of its journey stamped in the walls, such as pictures of fellow patrons who have already fallen. Prices are good, service is excellent, and they even offer a free bus so that you don't have to drive there. Couldn't recommend it anymore.

We had lunch here and were disappointed. We'd heard about this local Icon, but then I guess Bikies are not too fussy. It was a very cold day and despite having a fireplace, it wasn't turned on. The room was cold as was the food when we finally got it. We waited an hour after ordering and it was probably the worst pub food we all had ever eaten. On my worst day I could have cooked better myself.

The Catho Pub is a historic place that has existed since the late 1800's, it overlooks Catherine Bay and is a great destination for those looking for excellent food and live music. It is about 30-40 minutes away from Swansea and I would highly recommend it for as a day trip destination from Sydney.
