Comments of Commodore Hotel
C. P.
Very tasty fish and good wines I love the atmosphere of this place SO GOOD !
G. L.
Great outdoor area for a nice meal, friendly staff and pubgoers. Food was decent, although could be improved a bit, was a little cold and chips a little tasteless. Beers were nice and service fast lots of TV's for sports watching. Value for money was average. Overall had a good time, but nothing setting this pub aside from the others for me.
S.
A long running Sydney social scene and institution of fun with mates. Beverages are on the high side, but there's some innovative drinks on offer. Friendly staff and good pub food. The Pork Chop was awesome.
D. M.
The commodore is one of my favourite places to go with friends. Great deals everyday with food and probably one of the most extensive draught selections around. Would recommend for anything from a small get together or even a birthday function. Just don't forget to book, it does tend to fill up.
o. x.
Foods absolutely 😍 staff are nice enough, say for a few covid related issues.
M. R.
Great pub, nice food, and large selection of drinks. Loved the large outdoor area. I’ve been there many times and will continue to go back
M. A.
Patio area a great place for a working lunch. My food (the steak) was good and arrived quickly. One of our table was less impressed with their order (nachos) but everyone else cleared their plates - I've kept the five stars but you have been warned.
M. M.
This was a very pleasant experience for my wife and I. This would have been a five star I'll definitely be back if the customer service would have been better than dismal. The food was great, the beer choices were numerous and so was the wine selection. Loved the community feel. Really loved the fact dogs were welcome. The NZ born bouncer was awesome and very friendly and a younger male bartender was good but that's were it ended. I brought my wife's and my dirty plate back to where the dirty plates were stacked on a cart. I asked one of the bus boys is it ok to put them here. Without a word he grabbed them out of my hands and walked away without uttering a word. I have been all over this planet and have dined at many places and this young man's actions will keep me from going back. It is ashame that many of the other staff never smiled and when they did look your way you received a very blank don't bother me look. Food was great, presentation was good price was very affordable. If you subtracted most of the customer service this would have been a grand slam.

We had our company Xmas Party here on a Friday as it's just down the road from us. I've been here once before for a celebration lunch.
Commodore Hotel is one those local pubs that a lot of business might frequent after work on a Friday. It's got a fair of space for a small to medium sized group to sit down and eat and chat over beer. There's plenty of seats outside and a few inside. The biggest tables inside are located to the left side when you get in by the windows. Inside is a little tight to stand around and chat over beer if you don't get the middle tables by the entrance. The bar is behind the middle tables inside. The toilets are by the left side of the bar when you walk in.
They have a flat sceen tv outside and several smaller ones inside which I like!
Commodore Hotel probably feels the least squashy out the few around North Sydney as it occupies a bigger space. I probably prefer Firehouse as I feel it's more spacious with most of the space inside rather than get annoyed by pigeon.
Foodwise is pretty decent. We been able to experience the taste of Momo's, beef ribs, sweet potato chips and the pizza a couple of times now. The ribs are ok, not the best as they're lacking a bit of taste both times I've been. The pizza was ok too, although a little dry both times. The Momo's are probably the stand out dish for them, which is pretty tasty and my Nepalese colleague agrees. The alcohols pretty good too.
Overall a pretty decent place to check for a small sit down meal especially during nonpeak times. I can imagine this being pretty packed after work. If you have tried it, it's well worth visiting as it's not too noisy like a lot of pubs in North Sydney.

Was visiting the area and decided to have some lunch for 2. Excellent food, hadn't been in years and was totally worth the drive, the salad was amazing with a real kick of flavour as were the delicious fish tacos. Friendly atmosphere, great for kids and families and it was a Sunday so got to listen to acoustic music . Highly recommend this place for your next meal and a great place to visit with an excellent vibe. Couldn't resist but to take a quick snap of the delicious food.

Friendly pub close to North Sydney station with large terrace
H. D. B.
Good food and drink. Friendly, welcoming staff. Good atmosphere. Always a pleasure to be at The Commodore.
M.
Great ambiance, lovely staff, outside area with a gorgeous view. We had a bday lunch at this place and were all happy with the food & service. The highlight was grilled salmon 👌
D. K.
I was part of the decor team who set up for Maddison 1st Birthday at the Commodore Hotel this past weekend and I would just like to complement Alex , event manager and George , the beverage manager for being so accommodating and for hosting a brilliant event. The food and beverage was amazing and the event was a great success, a special thank you to Kitty the functions manager who made everything possible. Look forward to our next event at The Commodore Hotel.
J. H.
Had a good Sunday lunch here with friendly service and good food and drinks. Great burger but very average steak that looked like it had come served from the 90’s with some kind of super strong, dark gravy used over a piece of meat that could be mistaken as a Coles or Woolies ‘special’ rump.
Great tunes coming from the guy on the guitar.
J. D.
Great pub with large variety of tap beers...
R. M.
Great location for a pub with friendly staff but this is where the positives end for the Commodore. The food and drink are expensive and unfortunately the food (I had the cheese burger) was terrible - the pulled pork and meat patty made the entire burger way too salty and at $22 a burger and drink is definitely not a deal!
A few better pubs around in Kirribilli and North Sydney that deserve patronage vs going to the Commodore.. hope the team can pick their game up.
D. T.
Amazing place for burger, the menu is not big but the food is delicious and reasonable size portions, good selection of beers and drinks.
E. W.
Great beer range and good food. Prices to be expected for North Sydney but it's got a nice vibe.
M. P.
We had a group of 11 on the terrace for lunch. The tables had plenty of space for us all and the meals were delicious. Everyone commented on the high quality of the food and the presentation. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a great few hours here.
G. M.
Good daily lunch specials $10(forget the small $5 chips though) and great range of beers but expensive (1 Schooner cost me $15!)
F. W.
Great food, nice outdoor seating. Great option for a COVID safe afternoon drink
J. H.
Nice outdoors area. Nice salad. Menu seems a bit more expensive than other bars. But don’t handle large groups very well.
J. M.
Really average pizza, nice staff and reasonable venue
D. L.
Yep! Good bar food 👌 best around North Sydney. Easy for groups, nice outdoor seats. Quick, fresh, good quality, good portions.
N. A.
Cool atmosphere, good service, big shout out to the lovely hostesses Tahlia who was very accommodating, will definitely be back.
W. B.
Nice outdoor area. A little on the expensive side but definitely a top pub in North Sydney
K. R.
Very good food, wide variety, quick & friendly service. Absolutely delicious gelato & prices are very reasonable! Very clean and very friendly staff.
p.
Good craft beer selection and food options with nice outdoor balcony
A. A.
Most of the girls are friendly but Lucia is beyond! She is very helpful and kind. I was on rush and she helped me to tidy up this box. The shop had many customers at that time, she was by herself and she professionally managed and met everyone's needs! Chapeau bas Lucia you've done a great job 👍
J. O.
Love this pub for a nice afternoon beverage on their outdoors terrace! I wish the menu could be updated a bit more often though, otherwise love it!
S. D.
Great local pub and restaurant with heaps of beer on tap
G. A.
Best croquettes I've ever eaten and that's a big call. This place is the perfect summer venue with a large outdoor eating area and solid menu options. The inside was never amazing but it has been tastefully renovated in the last couple of years.
M. K.
Most excellent bottle-o with a great selection of constantly changing craft beer. 20% off six singles is a winner.
C. S.
Great selection drinks, particularly beers. Food is decent, and the layout purview plenty of seating options, between; sports bar, outdoor, restaurant and bar style. Food is a not heavily priced, but kinda expected for the upmarket location.
K. W.
We were outside on a rainy night, but the roof provided plenty of protection. The food is well executed pub food and arrived quite quickly on a busy Thursday evening. If there are more than two of you, I would recommend making a booking as seating is currently required for to covid restrictions.
Only thing in would change is the cleanliness and upkeep of the bathrooms.
S. B.
We went for lunch this week onThursday , the Barramundi was absolutely delicious and well cooked and the Brussel sprouts, pine nuts amazing, we had a steak as well it was very good . The heating out side is very effective. Noticed it’s dog friendly and knowing this we will come back again.
T. G.
The outdoor settings is best for the pandemic now as it is airy (covered for rain so any day is good). What I like the most is that they actually check that one has signed in and not just leave it to the self discipline of the patrons. Food is above average pub food but of course the price reflects its location.
L. M.
Great meals, kitchen has improved and so has the service!
J. H.
Great Pub, awesome food, awesome atmosphere total winner in Summer - all the Steaks are Boss !!!
H. J.
Lovely alfresco area for lunch or Friday afternoon drinks
B. M.
We have had a really good time here the last few times we've visited in the last few months. The Covid checks at the entrance are thorough and politely administered, while we've always found the door-person helpful and friendly. Food and service is great, and we found Will and Henry especially went above and beyond. If we want, we can sit outside with our dog and relax, and/or bring our kids as well.
A. W.
Great food, service...no hesitation recommending!!!
T. I.
They got a good selection of burgers. The Manhattan was yummy and massive. Booking is required for Friday night.
D. G.
Parmi's r good steaks as well
J. T.
$10 Schinitty are you kidding me, that’s a win any day of the week 😊 It was nice and crispy and just what I needed for a lunch break!
R. B.
This place is great since the recent refurbishment - the automatic louvers on the outside seating are a great idea and mean you can enjoy the outside seating even in hard rain! Food is also really good. Portion size (for burgers) are quite large, so be aware of this. Good selection of on tap beers. Recommended - ambience is relaxed / chilled.
N. M.
Awesome place... randomly decided to stop in for a drink and a bite to eat and so glad we did because we feel like we've discovered a new place to come to! Food was served hot fresh and yummy, quick and friendly service and a huge selection of beers and ciders! We will be back soon!!
L. S.
Very tasty fish and chips keep it up guys
M. A.
Large outdoor (but undercover) dining area which has a large TV outside to catch all sorts of sports on. Good pub food selection with some other decent options usually thrown in there. There is also a large selection of beers on tap.
a.
Good atmosphere. Bathrooms are clean. Had the vegetarian nachos which were really good
B. R.
Super busy and clearly popular with the locals. I really enjoyed the Commodore (or is it the cricketers arms). Great pub menu, mostly golden and crispy fried. Bar staff efficient and service staff pleasant enough without stretching themselves too much. Could do with a big spring clean - dust, grime, spills and general grot through the ages everywhere. Everyone gets a 5.
L. D.
The best pub in North Sydney. Good food. Excellent Ambience. Bookings essential to get a good table outside. Good selection of alcohol. Friendly staff. Perfect for a chilled lunch with colleagues during the week or for a night out with friends on weekends.
B. N.
I consider the Commodore to be my neighborhood pub and probably go once a week. Although there are some pubs slightly closer to my apartment, I walk a bit further to go to the Commodore. It’s worth it. The drinks are great and the food is stellar (my favorite is the lamb pizza and my husband’s is the fish and chips). They also have random specials, and I’ve never been let down when trying one. The outdoor seating is the real selling point. No matter the weather, it seems to be perfect. I could sit on that expansive terrace for quite a while and be happy.
A. O.
Great layout, cool vibe. Nice place to hang out during the summer. The food here is a little on the expensive side however the portions are pretty good and quality is good. The drinks are super expensive though. I think if they reduced the price of drinks by a little would be better. What ever happened to $6 schooners
R. P.
One of the best covid safe complaint restaurants/bar I've been to. Extremely impressed with how seriously they took this. Incredible food and truffle fries with ample truffle. To top it off, its dog friendly
K. L.
Nice ambience and outdoor area. Good selection of conventional pub food and trendier menu like poke bowls. It's on the pricey side though. Recommend the buttermilk fried chicken. Fresh, juicy and crispy. The pumpkin scone is tiny and rock hard though. Good selection of craft beer on tap.
S. T.
Our large family group enjoyed a relaxed pre-wedding, meet the extended family dinner here recently and were very impressed with the food. This pub has a great modern vibe. The bistro menu is amazing - extensive and varied at reasonable pricing. They won me over straight away when I saw the Poke Bowls on the menu. The salmon Poke bowl was delicious. They also have a really interesting wine menu. We had a great time and look forward to returning again soon
c. m.
PARMI WITH BEER. Great value and nice outside area but a bit of a walk from north sydney station
C. P.
Standard meals good location but nothing extra
S. M.
Had the scotch fillet and chef presented well with flavours and design of the plate; this is not a venue for your typical pub prices and so you should expect to pay a little higher. Gas heaters provided outside for those cold nights help extend your time here.
Big screen for Fox sports viewing as well.
P. S.
Not much to really say the parking is good, prices are fair and reasonable. The staff are friendly, helpful and down to earth also its very clean and tidy
S. B.
Great casual pub perfect for team events. The outdoor seating makes it special for when the weather is nice. Food is good and the beers are great. Definitely, recommend this place. You can also watch sports.
Z. K.
Nice place with a great outdoor area. You could have a view of the harbour bridge if the trees were trimmed a bit 😀On the plus side is definitely the fact that is pet friendly, there is a pool table and an ATM. Huge screens outside so you will not miss your favourite sports. Prices are the usual Sydney prices no thrills. Food also decent no surprises.
T. H.
The new menu removed the chilli sauce from the buffalo wings. It's just not the same, and is hard to now justify the $16 price tag.
It's petty, but man, those wings are what made the venue to me.
D. P.
Nice hotel. Cold beer, yummy food and the view..and what a view...
K. B.
I have had lunch here with colleagues on multiple occasions. The food and the service are good. Though the menu I feel is somewhat overpriced. I guess they attract enough customers to be able to afford that. However if people like me start choosing more affordable place then by the time management realise they have pushed too hard, it's too late to mend the reputation. They need to be mindful of haw much they push the seemingly happy customers.
M. W.
Great old pub, been here for years. Food is good, so is the service. A fun summer place for a drink!
W. S.
Nice food. A vast array of beers on tap. Atmosphere was too loud for me. I shan't be going back.
A. P.
My work local. It's not the cheapest but definitely my favourite. Burgers are great but if you are hungry get the ribs!!! Staff are super friendly and helpful. Parking underneath if you are driving. The best out door area in the summer and an outdoor pool table!
S. M.
Great for a mature work crowd who love great food. It is a little out of the way (because it's uphill to the station), but it's a great pub with a great selection of beer and food.
If their happy hour was better they would be my staple north Sydney hang out, but they don't struggle for numbers! Always packed here
A. L.
Great pub for a sunny afternoon, the terrace is really big. Food is really good! They also have a big screen on the terrasse to watch sports on TV. They have some local musician performing on the weekend afternoon.
E. M.
I went the the hotel for their Mother's Day themed lunch. The customer service was fantastic not only on arrival but during our whole time there. The front of house managed to find us a table even though we did not book. A few freebies ( a glass of champers and a brownie) did not go unnoticed or unappreciated either!!! The food prices were impressive- to find a good steak for under $30 at a pub these days, and of good quality is a rarity but stoked we have at the commodore! will definitely go back!
J. C.
Great range and friendly staff. Makes lockdown easier
M. L.
My go to for Friday afternoon drinks, even the odd informal business meeting. The bar staff are very friendly and helpful, and there is a great range of food items in the menu.
Very close to the bus interchange and train station if you need to get public transport there or home
S. P.
I come here sometimes for Tuesday night trivia. They use innquitive big screen trivia which is a fun visual way to do trivia. They also have a burger and craft beer special for $22 on Tuesdays, which is very good value considering how massive the portion is. I got a literal mountain of chips last time.
T. B.
Chef made a genuine systemised mistake on my order. I was however offered a complimentary drink to make ammends by the staff.
Great outdoor area and sunshine during the day. Staff always have positive vibes. Overall great atmosphere and peaceful place to have lunch on weekdays.
Food are larger portions and everything on the menu is tasty.
N. G.
Professional customer service. Cheers mate have a good one.
G. R.
Enjoyed a very filling and healthy poke bowl with agedashi tofu, avo, edamame, button mushrooms, shichimi, cauliflower, brown rice and sesame dressing. Fantastic selection of beers including Kirin to go with the food. Zucchini croquettes and sweet potato wedges are also great pre-meal shared nibblies. Friendly service. Good for groups.
R. M. (.
Really nice pub which is super kid friendly. Friendly staff, nice range of beers and ales. Highly recommended
S. T.
Nice foods, nice cool beer and nice place for relax.
M. S.
I found this pub to be a bit noisy and over priced. Pub has been revamped well and looks good with some indoor seating but more undercover out side tables, unfortunately most tables has a reserved notice on them when I was there. Menu looked good but I did not decide to stay....maybe this pub is for the younger clients now?
A. S.
Very nice pub with a great tiny view of the HB.! The food is delicious though! Got to give a hands down for that!
K. A.
Went here on a Tuesday night for drinks after work. Tuesdays are their normal trivia nights (we came too late and didn't participate). Plenty of seating indoors and out (heaters provided to help with the cold weather). Was a very comfortable and classy pub. Prices were moderate (what you would expect in North Sydney) and food was really nice - ordered the burger and it was really tasty. Good selection of beer, wine, and spirits. Great staff - very friendly and helpful when deciding what to order.
O. S.
Excellent good menu. Restaurant quality food bit equally as pricey. Very nice outdoor area. Good for watching sports or just a beer in the sun. Extensive wine list for a pub with a separate premium list if yoir looking for something a little special
G.
Any place that allows you to bring in your dog with you on that while you’re trying out whole bunch of rare and delicious wines during a very well catered for tasting, is the perfect place to go to in my books! We came here on the long weekend, and oh boy that we make the right choice! They service up some really nice pies along with some Pinot Noirs, while all the time saying how cute our dog was.
D. L.
I can’t fault this place. My wife and I come for lunch every Tuesday afternoon before a business meeting close by. The food is great the vibe is perfect and the staff remember us. Of all the thousands of people thy encounter every week they remember us for a one hour visit on a Tuesday. Its the personal touch that makes us choose this place over the other options in the area.
J.
The Manhattan burger + chips is 10/10. I order it every single time I visit, and everytime is just as good as the last. Can't wait to go back and order it once again 🤩
L.
Really good food selection. Huge outdoor spaces available and large rooms that easily fit 30 or so people can be booked. It would easily fit 50+ people outside. There's on street parking and it's about a 7 minute walk from North Sydney train station. The staff are very friendly and down to earth. The crowd is relatively young/ professional. Dress attire is casual, with many suits around in the early evening. Would recommend as a good local place, 15 minutes walk or so from the harbour bridge.
R. G.
Sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere at Commodore. The menu has a great selection and the service is quick and friendly. We always order the bread to start - a delicious selection of sourdough served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar - yum! The steaks are good, as are the salads. The Commodore is a great spot and eating outside is very enjoyable. This is a great place to go for a cheap, delicious and enjoyable evening.
A. S.
Best chicken burger on the North Shore. Great ambience and good times!
C. W.

Great food and drinks, awesome service by Will at the Bar. Excellent terrace location.
J. M.
Had a great slow cooked lamb shoulder (for 2) last night (the monday special). Fantastic taste and value with 2 drinks included. Then i thrashed my son at pool 6-0. Friendly staff and good service. Wouldnt mind a red ipa on tap though.
M. B.
Really enjoy the vibe of this place. The pub is a little walk away from the hub of north sydney and is quite large providing plenty of seating. The food on the menu sounds amazing but it a little on the expensive side. I have had the pulled brisket burger and the fish salad and the first bites were delicious but too rich to finish the whole meal
a. t.
Great venue for a family party. We reserved a large area inside and out for about 40 adults plus kids and we had a great time. The food was superb, staff are really helpful and the prices are reasonable. It's been refurbished outside too over the past year so atmosphere is great.
N. F.
Great chicken burger. Nice outdoor space.
Bouncers were legends. Especially Fadi.
Atmosphere is lacking bit that's just all of North Sydney on a Saturday though.
G. C.
The Commodore is a great family friendly pub, with a nice leafy atmosphere. They also have a kids menu which is great for families, with plenty of room for the kids to run around. I enjoyed a chicken burger there, and shared an amazing chocolate dessert. Downside is the lack of options for coffee after a meal - no decaf, no soy - but this is a pub, not a cafe, after all. They often play live rugby games on big screens here, and is just a short walk from North Sydney train station, meaning it's a great option if you want to enjoy a couple of drinks while watching a big game.
N. C.
Always good for a Friday lunch, good food and it doesn't take too long to come out. Sitting under the trees is always nice, but be sure to book at lunch time to ensure a table.
S. R.
Just had an early lunch there with my lovely and have to rate this place for atmosphere, friendly and open staff and a great variety of both pub and top shelf food. Manager knows his stuff and obviously takes a lot of pride in the place. We WILL be back!!
A. V.
A good place for drinks as well as food. Gets crowded on weekends but still worth going. Wine collection is good. Food is well prepared and served hot. Short walk from North Sydney train station.
T. D.
Good food, relaxed atmosphere. Indoor seating is available but most people prefer the outdoor deck. There is an ooen wood fire and braziers now that winter is upon us.
A. L.
Hamburger much worse now than before the lockdown. Hopefully temporary until they get up to speed again.
Update: Visited again and the food was signficantly improved so updated the rating!
A. G.
Great place to have after work drinks in the North Sydney area. Friendly bar staff along with some good food.
There is a DJ who plays some great beats, but not much of a dance floor.
The drinks are standard price and there is a large selection on tap as well as some top shelf liquor.
Make sure you make a booking if you plan to have a large group
J. F.
Great space to bring the dog. Burgers a bit bland, more like a $15 burger not $22. Staff are good, need basic training.
A. O.
Good venue in a good location. Good choice of beers and very consistent food. Can't go wrong if you're looking for a lively night or a quiet drink!
A. L.
Great pub for a sunny afternoon, the terrace is really big. Food is really good! They also have a big screen on the terrasse to watch sports on TV. They have some local musician performing on the weekend afternoon.
D. T.
Organised, airy, huge range, good food, service and drinks.
Screens for all sports as well

Good Food, although smaller potion sizes means it doesn’t get full five stars. My mates ordered Lamb Rump and they were not satisfied and were still hungry when we left and they paid 31 bucks for it!.
My mezze rigante pasta was alright but not something for which I will not pay High $ again.
D. C.
This place is great for post work drinks and weekend shindigs. The commodore hotel is the perfect spot to watch sports and socialise at the the same time. Good location, great views of the harbour and also really close to public transport (Trains, buses and Ferries).
H. N.
Although my visit took place on a cold, stormy night, I can imagine the loungey outdoor area decorated with unique ball-shaped lights would be perfect for a warmer, sunnier day chilling with a drink or two. They serve typical pub food, burgers and co., and a wide variety of drinks. There is a trivia offer on Tuesday nights, too. Service was friendly enough, though one of our orders took really long despite the lack of a crowd. Would spend a lazy arvo here if I'm in the area.
A. T.
One of the best collection of beers. Cider and treehouse was delicately perfect. Dryness well balanced. Space, a bit cramped though. Nice place for large groups.
J. F.
Great space to bring the dog. Burgers a bit bland, more like a $15 burger not $22. Staff are good, need basic training.
J. L.
This is a great place for a fun night out with friends. We love the view and outdoor seating. It is also a very safe venue that stays packed.
D. M.
Great food. The Manhattan is glorious. Friendly staff too

Been here a few times already for my lunch with my workmates and I must say they're poke bowls are amazing! Would highly recommend the chicken katsu poke bowl!
D. L.
Arrived at 9:20pm, ten minutes prior to meal service ending, but were served at the bistro by friendly, helpful staff. The grilled barramundi on Asian greens was nicely cooked and tasty with a bit of a spicy sting!
The apple crumble was OK, but not as good as the main, with large chunks of crumble and apple pieces that were a little less mushy than I would have preferred.
The atmosphere is pretty noisy, but good-natured.
Z. N.
Great food, service and atmosphere
B. B.
Phenomenal food and lots of great local beer options. Perfect for those staying at nearby hotels in North Sydney. The Poke Bowl is awesome!
C. H.
Nice food and decent sized portions. Good variety of beer
S. T.
The food has changed since we were here last. Firstly the bowl of chips we had one afternoon with malt vinegar mayo was great, I have't seen that before but a great way to re-introduce malt vinegar to chips which is a great combo.
We came back for an evening meal but unfortunately we feel it's gone down hill. I had the pork belly dish but the flavours didn't really go together and there wasn't much of it. Worse, though, was my wife's seafood pasta. The pasta itself was very over cooked and one of the prawns was so overcooked she couldn't finish chewing it.. really very low on flavour as well and this was 32 dollars..
K. L.
Great on hot day , misters cooling everyone down great spot to stop for bite to eat & drink just down from North Sydney Cricket 🏏 ground on our way to WBBL 😍
D.
Great beer range and good food. Prices are average but it's got a nice vibe. Makes for a great North Sydney pub
M. M. (. M.
Food, drinks and atmosphere is good.
The only thing that annoyed us was that we had to sit right in the sun while there where tons of umbrellas in the shade and the staff didn't want to move them.
C. L.
Good food at reasonable prices, a bit more than your normal pub food. Great outdoor space to enjoy the fresh air with heaters overhead to keep you warm on cooler days.
S. S.
Good food, slightly pricey, large selection of drinks. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great trivia night running on Tuesdays at 7pm.
Neat and tidy venue with good facilities.
D. C.
Great set up, with covered outdoor seating with views of the street. Lamb shoulder excellent value meal. Loved the atmosphere With great service.
J. E.
Best steak sandwich in Sydney
A.
Pretty good. Went for a bite to eat. Ended up staying for a while as we met some friends and had a few drinks. Food was pretty good and drinks always good.

CHeck out my blog for photos
The Commodore Hotel has been renovated so it's got a fresh beer garden. It has a wooden, modern outside feel which is perfect for a meal and a beer.
My vegetarian colleague who was departing ordered a very good looking dish. The beetroot, walnut and feta ravioli at $20 looked delicious! The ravioli had a sage butter sauce with pieces of roast beetroot, a sprinkle of walnuts and pistachio and goat's cheese. There was also a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. It looked very fancy for a pub meal.
As I was in the beer garden, I felt compelled to order the classic Angus Beef Burger at $18. The beef burger had layers of bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mustard, ketchup and mayo. It came with a very large side of chips. So nice pub burger. Not quite as foodgastic as Chur Burger but still a nice burger.
I had massive food envy though for my colleague's chicken burger which had cheddar, bacon, coleslaw with a ranch sauce (which was also $18).
Prices: About $20 for mains
Location: 206 Blues point Rd, North Sydney

Location is a bit far from public transport. Food is a bit overpriced for the taste but it fills you up. It gets crowded at lunch and afternoon and great large groups of people.
A. N.
Great variety of food and the vibe is really chilled. The service is also good and will definitely recommend if you want some food and a pint.
L. H.
always great food good atmosphere and people friendly. You won't go wrong with lamb shanks they are sone if the best around. burgers great too.
L. G.
Great selection of tap beer and reasonably priced too. Love the outdoor section where there is plenty of room.
M. S.
I love this pub. One of the most unpretentious beer gardens in the area. Food is great and priced as you'd expect from the area. I swing by for lunch on weekends whenever I'm in Nth Sydney.
R. C.
Not a bad local bar with a reasonable selection of craft beers. Schnitzel made for a nice lunch.
J. H.
Absolute legend helped me when I buggered my toe on the curb! Warm service & charming! Can’t thank you enough! 👍
t. v.
Good food
A. T.
Nice pub. Easy going. Food ok. Gets a bit crowded and prices are at a premium. Good safe choice for after work drinks.
A. H.
Great outdoor dining
C. J.
A good serving of bangers and mash, accompanied by a pint of porter for lunch. Excellent!
G. K.
Quite a popular place on Fridays. Good, a bit pricy food and good collection of beers. Reservation recommended for larger groups to avoid disappointment
M. C.
Nice outdoor area, part of it with views of the bridge. A bit of a walk from North Sydney station so more of a pub for locals or people who work nearby.
C. D.
Seems to be a popular pub in North Sydney. Burger is your usual burger that you get at a lot of places nowadays. Apple Crumble was very spicy. Presentation was interesting.
R. Z.
Love this place for a pub bite. Atmosphere is great and it's never too crowded. The foods always on point.
P. H.
Great place to catch up with friends, have a drink and a meal. Food's a bit expensive but good quality.
R. J.
Good food and atmosphere. Price is on the high side though. It was nice but for that price I would expect more of a fine dining experience.
j. h.
The food here was excellent. More like restaurant food than a pub. Plenty of beers on tap to choose from and a lovely atmosphere
a. s.
Average north shore pub, standard food with a pokies addiction and pricey. The outdoors-indoors area is 75% of the space but feels like you're on a balcony with the heaters and early noise cut off.
R. L.
Good pub food with reasonable price. Open area, good for large crowd. Easy to book a place for ten or twenty people.
A. S.
Great pub, plenty of seating and great food. Get there early for lunch on Fridays as it's a popular spot for the work crowd!
D. G.
Great place. Quite sports bar like but there's nothing wrong with that. Great for, craft beer on tap, decent prices. I'll be back.
N. M.
Best food and fantastic service!
J. S.
Nice pub. Good food. Good location. Friendly staff
N. P.

Q. N.
Great vibes! Good pub food.
M. F.
Friendly staff, good pub atmosphere and well heated. The gnocchi was excellent!
L. L.
Trusted pub that has changed the menu a lot recently. The food is solid, not the best assortment of beers but setup of the outdoor balcony makes it on a nice day
T. B.
Solid contemporary pub with nice outdoor dining space. A good range of beers on tap including craft beers.
M. W.
Great friendly staff and environment. Will definetly be back again. Awesome meals
G. T.
Great lunchtime venue. Especially pleased with the new dark beer on draught. Can usually get a table even without booking.
A.
Super nice pub with high quality food. Decent selection of beers, though nothing too out there.
K. B.
Nice pub for a weekend catch-up. Nice foods too. Not enough music as there is no live DJ or a band.
T. K.
Pricey alcohol in a Setting thats generally just reserved tables... Foods solid and the bar staff are chill AF with a good view and location.
D. B.
Had a function there and the staff were pretty good, but they mixed up two tabs of the same colour wrist band. Other than that the venue is very nice
M. C.
Nice outdoor area, part of it with views of the bridge. A bit of a walk from North Sydney station so more of a pub for locals or people who work nearby.
m.
Good place to get a beer or two.
A. G.
Great place to have after work drinks in the North Sydney area. Friendly bar staff along with some good food.
There is a DJ who plays some great beats, but not much of a dance floor. …
D. H.
Great food and service. One of the best bars in the area for this.
C. L.
Good food at reasonable prices, a bit more than your normal pub food. Great outdoor space to enjoy the fresh air with heaters overhead to keep you warm on cooler days.
D. G.
Such a nice place, not that expensive, fair price, good environment, and some different cocktails.
M. H.
Great atmosphere, tap beer selection and daily specials. Outdoor area on the street is good too.
A. K.
Place has not change a lot in 10 years
H. Z.
I do like the commodore but their menu is not cheap for the style.
C. A.
Good to have a quiet beer or lunch. Good quality food. Very busy Friday afternoon and night. Close to public transport.
S. N.
The food is ok and the drinks are expensive. I was here for a friend's birthday but I probably will not return. There are much better places. The service is slow.
S. T.
It's a got a location without a view and charging $9 plus a schooner as if it had a view. Staff are young and disinterested
B. J. -. W. R. W.
Great little bar with outside seating and big screens for sports, decent beer selection and friendly staff
J. G.
Good bottle-o. The grease traps had overflowed causing a terrible smell so that wasn't great.
E. C.
Buttermilk chicken burger was absolutely delicious! Good environment as well.
D. T.
Organised, airy, huge range, good food, service and drinks.
Screens for all sports as well
D. G.

G. D.
Loved the truffle fries. Nice “outdoor” sitting place.
T. M.
Nice open air hotel bistro. Great menu with Gluten Free options. Awesome sports TV.
J. M.
Close to work. Food is OK but they need to swap plastic trays for a more descent option when serving good esp. burgers
W. S.
Great place for a beer or wine on a Sunday afternoon listening to some great live acoustic music. Staff were great too very friendly and helpful
J.
Fixation up a on tap... massive plus.
Negatives... having a kid and the kitchen not opening until 5.30pm is a massive pain with sleep cycles
T. H.
Excellent food , great service in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Great for a Sunday afternoon listening to the acoustic singer.
M. C.
Pretty standard pub, food a bit over priced but an ok spot for lunch, Friday nights after work have a good relaxed atmosphere
B. S.
Good food, very tasty. Bit windy out on the deck and hard to stay dry when it's raining.
R. R.
Great meals, good value plus a decent variety of craft beers on tap.
P. V.
Great location / food / drinks
A. R.
Nice place, good vibe. City prices for drinks but it's worth it for the great food!
V. Y.
Lovely place for midweek lunch. Yummy menu
J. A.
One of the only bottle shops in Sydney open late. God bless.
S. T.
Very Vibie pub, most tables outside are reserved on a friday. Had a great time here.
J. A. M.
Overpriced menu & not many veg options..let alone only 3 or 4 burgers to choose from. $15 for truffle chips...hmmm
S. G.
The Commodore just won an award for good pub food- and it deserves it! Love it for quiet afternoon drinks or before a night out.
M. S.
Great food and service. One of the best bars in the area for this.
M. C.
Friendly relaxed pub. Food delicious. Great spot for after work get together.
M. H.
I don't have anything exciting to say about the Commodore - not because it's bad. Just because it's pretty normal. Get a pub meal and a drank. Nothing that amazing and nothing that bad about here.
P. H.
Great spot with a great bistro menu. Very busy at lunch time so make sure to book.
U. M.
Good place for a cheeky after work drink. Great vibe food is amazing too.
A. O.
Nice pub with lots of open outdoor area. Really good good, the burgers are gianormous
E. E.
Small store but with a wide variety; expect to pay a premium though due to the area as there's no other bottle shops around.
N. W.
Just your normal average pub food. Nothing special as far as the burghers are concerned. Large portions.
P. F.
