We reserved a table for 7.30 and there was a bit of a mix up (no table available). The bar manager went above and beyond to find us a seat, and gave us a free beer for the trouble. Great vibes, friendly staff, and best of all dog friendly 🐶🥳! Thanks Darlo Bar.

This place is a Darlinghurst institution. Poets , Journos. Muso's, Muse's, Artists , Writers and characters of note both living and dead have all frequented this place. If these walls could talk they would tell a history of Sydney that is as legendary as this place. Drop in and soak it up.

Great local, classic pub, lots of great regulars. Management and staff that care. Cool & trendy spot. Jay Cats plays best tunes on Sunday eves, and does a great quiz mid week. Try Darlinghurst at its best.

This place is loud. And I don't mean the people, I mean the music. Something that is fully within the venues control. It was so loud that the bar staff and us while ordering had to ask each other to repeat our self multiple times. And it was 6pm on a Thursday night... They did have the NFC / QR table ordering at tables which we found out after we ordered. But you still couldn't hold a conversation with someone. I'll judge my return on if I can hear the venue from a block or way next time or not

booked in for 2 nights, left after 1. great place for it's price, sufficiently clean, with air conditioning and secure premises. shared toilets but that wasnt an issue - they were clean and showers had warm water and good pressure. left after my first night cos my room had terrible noise insulation, and i had to be up at 5.30 am for a full day course. being right above the outdoor bar - with music booming till 12mn did not help the situation. i could hear even street conversations as people walked past. but the service staff were excellent and did a full refund for my stay. they did cite that that particular room was unfortunately the noisiest given it's location to the streets and bar. All in all, i would consider rebooking with them, IF i dont have a full weekend academic course the next day, and would require an early night. good price, for a decent cute room with great customer service in a central location.

Great atmosphere. Scratch that - amazing atmosphere! I went there with a friend after dinner on a Sunday night. It's one of Sydney's rare, nice rooftop bars with a heater and couches (!!!) that made me forget about the chilly Spring weather even though I was wearing a skimpy off shoulder top. Wait staff were also friendly, would definitely visit again if I'm around the area.

This is a great laid back Australian Pub. Unlike many other Sydney pubs the Darlo remains low key and cool. If your looking for some flashy place, this pub is not it - if you are looking for cool, this place has it in spades. There's an atrium bar upstairs, and the retro fitted out bard at street level. Pool table and video games and Coopers on tap. Perfect! Just like it says on the mural across the road.

Nice atmosphere. Hit and miss toilets... Depends if they decide to stock toilet paper. Nice upstairs beer garden (no grass or woodland area) with a semi open air area where you are almost guaranteed to come away with early stage lung cancer thanks to the generous smokers happily puffing away for everyone's health and enjoyment. A single dragon sighting was reported back in 2009.

It is a bit difficult to find a place to sit though, particularly on the 1st floor where you have a bit of an outdoorsy area. I will definitely come back again.

I really like this place because it wasn't too noisy and it wasn't so busy I couldn't move. I found myself here on a Friday night in the pleasant upstairs area, which was filled with couples around small tables and a scattering of groups around larger tables. The staff are great, drinks are reasonable and the place is clean and friendly. I hope to go back at some stage and check out the downstairs.

If you want a pub that simultaneously feels like it's for the locals and for everyone in the world, head to Darlo Bar. It's one of those places that couldn't have existed anywhere else but Darlinghurst. The outdoor area is one of the nicer spaces of its kind in Sydney. Staff are friendly. Trivia is fiendishly difficult!

Nothing special, very average rooftop bar, don't understand what the fuss is all about. You can't eat outside as it is smoking area. No cocktail menu, they only make Bloody Mary's, which to be fair were tasty!

The Darlo bar is my favourite local in Darlinghurst. Reasonably priced drinks with a great happy hour every day from 4 to 6. The top section has a different vibe to the bottom with bother being equally cool to hang out in. Great art and music throughout the joint with friendly staff and patrons in a chilled out atmosphere.

Darlo bar is a bit of an institution. Dive-bar ish, but not quite, it straddles the line of the gentrifying Darlinghurst pretty well. Always have good drink specials and while they don’t have food on premise, you’re able to get any Uber Eats delivered, or order directly from that burger place and s thada Thai (who I think are called something else now, but it’s the Thai place right next to Messina, literally around the corner). Always a good place to grab a local cheap drink if you’re looking for a change of environment rather than drinking at home.

Seatings were quite comfortable for a medium sized group catch up. The Thai food provided there was of substantial portion and was definitely more than enough for a standard dinner. Music there however was too loud, and it sounded like it was turned up as the night went on which made conversations very difficult and straining.

Very funky designs. Classic vinyl records displayed as art. We stayed for weekend in hotel. Bar is jam packed on weekend couldnt get a table so we headed out. Staff were very friendly. Two thumbs up. Hotel is decent but budget. I didnt realise it was share bathrooms. Not enough google reviews on hotel to give a clear picture. Rooms are clean & adequate. Toiletries supplied. Tea & coffee supplied. Kettle only fits under 1 of the bathroom taps. Hotel room doors SLAM shut, all night all day. Noise from bar didnt bother us but street noise was so loud, i wondered if the walls had fallen down during night. Went home dog tired from the constant interrupted sleep. Beds/rooms are comfy & clean. Tv & channels were good. Mini fridge provided. Decent magazines in room. Rooms not serviced daily. Bathrooms were ok but needed a good deep scrub. The whole time we were there it looked like bathrooms were not scrubbed or mopped. If you are on a budget then you will be impressed with location, service & comfort of your room. Very nicely renovated.

The Darlo is one of my fave places to drink. It's quiet of a daytime so you can go there for quiet drink and gets busier as the day progresses so by that time you're usually in the mood to party and because of its central location you can go wherever you want or stay as they have accommodation.

A stench of burning tobacco pervaded the bar area throughout my visit on the evening of 5 October 2016. Staff told me that the smell was coming from outside the premises, where smokers were cluttered right next to the main entrance, but the smell was also evident on the stairs leading from the ground floor bar area up to the first floor. Draught beer was mainly bland and tasteless stuff of the mass produced variety. Toilets were marred with spittle, paper, cigarette ends and graffiti, although the latter could have been the "house style". There was an excellent quiz.

Probably best characterized as straddling the line between student bar and maaaarginally hipster hangout, it's a friendly place to head over to for a drink or so. A smidge off the main Darlinghurst drag, so there's a little less foot traffic. Staff are friendly, there's a large smoking zone upstairs if you're in to that kind of thing. Decent beer selection and food is provided via the local area's takeaways (i.e. you order and pay for it at the bar, and someone will fetch it for you).
