This place was a random find online for a bite to eat!! Bf and I were in town just for the night and the vibe of this place looked pretty cool on good old google. When we arrived we discovered it was A LOT more then a few tables and a pop up van whipping up burgers & fries in a courtyard….. The history of this beautiful place is just as delightful as the burgers. A 1920’s house with memories and stories from wall to wall, fire place and a bathroom to die for. Not a huge range of options food wise, but sometimes that’s for the best and you don’t waste precious moments loosing yourself in a 10 page menu. The burgers were phenomenal, like AMAZING! Juicy, large portions, great fillings, great sauces, well balanced and just all round mouth watering. The fries were also delish and fresh, hot & crunchy and the perfect amount of salt. They serve cocktails and a huge range of wines & beer!! The atmosphere is one to be a part of. It’s great with just your partner in crime or a perfect place for the whole gang to sit back, sink a drink or two and enjoy!! I’ll be sure to pop in again on our next visit

Amazing burgers, great hassle free service with a fully stocked bar. Lovely little hide away seating with a jacaranda tree (would be beautiful in November) they serve burgers and oysters - with a gluten free bun option! Try the secret sauce it's terrific 🍸❤️

So many good things about this place, but above all, the burgers themselves. It’s clearly what they focus on and man do they get it right. The food industry is saturated with burger joints at the moment, but this burger truly stands out. Atmosphere is also awesome, from the lighting and gorgeous bar, to the genuine rock & roll music and iconic newspapered bathroom walls. Really friendly staff, crispy, salty shoestring fries and yummy cocktails. We had such a great time and were so happy we chose Dulcie’s for our little date night!

We came here for dinner with our toddlers, as another review had stated it was baby/kids friendly. So I think its worth mentioning they DO NOT have highchairs. However the service was great, food was delicious and the atmosphere was laid back. Would certainly come back .... without the kids.

Lovely ambience but it will be perfect if the music wasn't too loud. Quite cosy with the fire place. Staff were very friendly. Burgers were alright, chips were not well cooked. Drinks were good. We were seated next to the toilet door, it was quite disturbing every time when someone go into the toilet with the main door wide open, suggest to have a screen or something to cover/separate the toilet door and dining area.

This spot is an absolute hideaway gem! The atmosphere is welcoming and convivial. The menu focuses on burgers but not your average burger by any means. They are very different and delicious. Service is great and staff professional and friendly. I highly recommend a visit or two.

Not just one of the best burgers in town, one of the best in the state.... AND you can enjoy great cocktails and oysters at the same time. 🤯. We will always make time to pop in when we're in the area.

Nice venue, delicious burgers and cocktails. Unfortunately there's no gluten free bun and you need to get a burger without the bun for a gf option. The front of house was also a bit rude - she made us feel like we were a bit of an inconvenience because we hadn't booked and we heard her give the table next to us a time warning on their table which made it a bit hard to relax.

Burgers are great, beers as well, good service. They should change the closing time on Google Maps, I’ve been there on a Sunday evening, and around 9:15 pm, all the staff was ready to go home, clearly looking at us waiting for us to finish our meal. They could also advise customers when some beers from the menu are not available; the first three beers we wanted to order were unavailable.

This place is great but let down by their staffs' training and service acumen unfortunately. Decore, Atmosphere, and wine list are 5 star. Beers and Cocktails were 4 star. Service was amature at best. It took 3 bartenders to find and open a bottle of wine. No table service, order at bar only and expect to queue for 20 mins while staff avoid eye contact. If you don't know your own table number expect to be told to 'go and find out and tell me' Food truck burgers are v good but will get old quickly think about changing this up once in a while. Staff will continually check your wearing a mask but will hand you a menu that is 2 years old and has passed thru 1000s of hands. Prices! worse than darling harbour. Expect to be price gouged $10 cans of beers $20 cocktails, wine bottle prices all French reds were reasonably priced for a restaurant. Bookings essential!! expect to be turned away without one during peak season. soz im a just over passionate I have worked hospo for years. Hope this review helps both customer and owner.

There is so much to love about Dulcies! We went every night for the 3 nights we were in town because the food, cocktails and warm welcome were hard to beat. The food is great value, all freshly cooked and as good (if not better) than some of the "cool" burgers we enjoy in Sydney. There's plenty of dog friendly seating and our pup always got such a warm welcome. And then there's the cocktails. The staff in the bar are not bar staff, they are masters of their craft and the cocktails here are outstanding, some of the best I've ever had! We totally need a Dulcie's in Sydney!

Spending a few days in Merimbula palying golf with friends, we were looking for an easy quick place for dinner one night. We found Dulcie's on the internet, it looked good, so we called, booked, and walked from our accomodation. It is a lovely place, with a very calming atmosphere, ideal for dining. The service was amazing and friendly, and the food was world class. If you visit Merimbula NSW, do yourself a favour and go and dine at Dulcie's Cottage, it's a licenced venue, so you can enjoy a wine, beer, or any other drink you'd like.

My family loved the burgers! Dulcie's Burger, Chicken Burger and Cheese Burger. They loved it so much that we had 2 dinners during our 3-night stay at Merrimbula. They can get busy as we experienced a 50 minutes wait for our food on our first visit. We went at 5pm the 2nd time and we finished our dinner and were out in 30 minutes!

A bit seedy and only a limited fast food menu. Out of keeping with the great seafood available locally. Definitely a locals stronghold.

A bit of Déjà vu when stepping inside the cottage, once a family house with 10 children all under one roof... Has a kitschy fit out and great little spaces to relax with your favorite beverage and something from the food menu. I was pleasantly surprised to find a good selection of beer and liquor from top suppliers - the owner really knows the business. Do make time to visit, as it's one of the best venues in the township of Merimbula.

Some of the best burgers I've had. The Cheezeburger and Dulcie Burger are great. Delicious pickles. The Mushroom burger with its secret sauce also amazing. Fries perfect. Also they serve "no carb" bunless versions like a salad and it's generous in size and yummy in its own right The atmosphere is trendy and relaxed. There is ample starting inside which is really cozy. Under the veranda or out the front under the trees. Inside is a well stocked bar.

Amazing burgers! Love a place with a small menu that just nails it. This place has a great vibe with the cosy cottage, dog-friendly beer garden and awesome tunes. We were there in the off-season but I imagine it would be packed in Summer. Prices were a bit high but it's a tourist town and everything was super fresh so understand why.

This was not my favourite place to eat unfortunately. First for the positives. The cottage is well presented and obviously lovingly restored and converted to a restaurant. Conversely, I noted one instance of brusque treatment of customers by a staff member. Not good customer service by that staff member. We had to wait 45 minutes for our burgers. Way too long considering the place was not overly crowded. The chips served with the burger were only warm and starting to get soggy. I suspect also that the fish used in my burger was of the frozen variety. If you are sitting outside the music volume would probably be ok, but it was somewhat overpowering sitting inside. All in all a very attractive looking establishment, but the rest did not live up to our expectations.

After seeing the 5 star reviews, I felt I had to give a real review of this place. Don’t get me wrong, the place isn’t terrible, that’s why it gets an average 3 stars from me. The positives are that the staff are more friendly here than any other pub or bar in Merimbula or Eden and the burgers were great. However we paid $18 for a burger and side of chips and $14 for a can of IPA. That’s $32 for a burger and a beer. Have two beers with your burger and you’ve blown $50 in 20min. There didn’t seem to be any tap beer here. The prices of the drinks suggested tap beer, but it was canned beer. I was keen to settle in for a session but not at $14 a tin. Would have paid $14 if it was a pint in a pint glass. It really needs some taps and/or some reasonable pricing. It’s fairly overpriced for a burger joint.

These guys have the right recipe. Cool location, classic building with all fittings, trinkets and live music. But all that is matched with cocktails or craft beer and bang on burgers.

Best burger I have had in a long time in a fun quirky cottage pub atmosphere. My friend said to go to Merimbula to try Australia's best burger and he was not wrong. The patty is juicy and well seasoned. The bun is freshly baked and veggies are really fresh. The shoe string fries are so good. Would recommend and make it our go to lunch stop when we are in this part of the world again.

One of the best burgers I have ever had. Better than many back up in Sydney where there's lots of competition. Chicken burger was delicious. Beef Burger was full of flavour. Chips perfectly cooked. We came as a group of 8 during early January. A balmy night and arrived at 6pm hoping to get a table. The place was buzzing inside and out and we managed to squeeze onto a table. Ordering meals took about 10 minutes as all 3 bar staff were tied up making multiple cocktails. We were told the food would take about an hour and that was fine. The food arrived within 45 minutes and was fantastic. I can highly recommend the food here. Beer selection is good. The wait is a little long but worth it. Given the peak time of year i would suggest planning to get there before 5pm and plan to be there a few hours. Will visit again.

The food menu here is very limited—think burgers and chips, but what they have is fantastic! Our group tried the Dulcie burgers and the chicken burgers and they were delicious. The food is cooked in the small food truck on site, and everything came quite quickly. The outdoor seating was very pleasant, even on a winter day. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.

Gets busy and reaches capacity pretty early during summer and holiday periods, but well worth the wait (or an early dinner).

Dulcie's burgers were described to me to be the "best", what I got was pretty standard. The house burger was basic and nothing exciting about it, great burgers should stand out and this didn't. The chips were McDonald's in quality, which was disappointing. The singular vegie option was quite poor being described by a friend as a "warm salad roll". For the price of these burgers you would expect a lot more. Don't get me wrong staff are nice but we did wait 45mins for 4 burgers. Atmosphere at night 2 years ago was lively and this Christmas holidays it seemed flatter and less exciting.

Superb burger, one of the best I’ve ever tried & im a burger nut. The venue is amazing on a nice sunny day chilling outside with a beer and burger. We had 3 kids under the age of 5 with us and the staff were so welcoming for us. The chips are up there as one of the best I’ve tasted too. I had the Dulchie Burger and it hit the spot, chased down with a black Asahi beer! So good. No tap beer though, but was very happy with their bottled variety.

This place is very cool. The staff were a little underwhelmed by everything when we visited yesterday, but likely as it was a public holiday weekend, with a jazz festival on. Came in during a Sunday afternoon at the jazz festival. Waited at the counter to see a menu and no one acknowledged my presence, then the bar tender took the order from the lady who came to the bar after me. Finally got a menu and made my order. No fries available as the deep fryer broke earlier. It came quickly which was good, but the flies inside are rife! I came here last year and it was the same thing. It's not summer and it's not hot, so they are only hanging around due to a lack of cleanliness I can only assume. $18 for a burger is pretty rich, although it was quite good. EFT machine also broke during my order so the bar tender offered the meal and drink for free. Paid at the end however, because I won't take a free meal because of a computer problem. I'll try again next year and see if the flies improve...

Dulcies shares some family connections to some top notch bars in Sydney - including some of the staff, over the summer break - and it shows. Wide decks with a view over Merimbula Lake surround a weatherboard cottage. Inside is fitted out beautifully, with lots of wood, framed black & white photos - and a wide wooden bar. A great wine, cocktail and beer list - and a couple of variations on burgers (beef, vegetables, prawn). The menu is limited but they nail what they do, from the tiny 50s caravan on the deck. Jazz on the speakers completes a very relaxed and funky bar. If Dulcies was in Sydney or Melbourne it'd hold its own as a small bar (and you wouldn't be able to move for beautiful people). The good news is the crowd is more relaxed, the views are better, and you'll get a drink faster too!
