Got lunch with a couple of my bi friends, burger looked fabulous, steak only had one sauce option (lame), my trans friend Simone had a schnitzel that looked like a four year old made it and the chips looked like alligator fingers. The bartender dead named Simone.
B. B.
Went at end of superbowl. Super friendly bosses. People come back.
J.
Nice place for a drink but the schnitzel is awful and oily, half the chips were undercooked and the gravy was weirdly flavoured (five spice?) and runny. The other food might be better, didn’t have anything else.
J. P. P.
Excellent customer service! I had a missing drink and Daniel did not hesitate to help me, very supportive! Such a great kid. I will definitely come back.

This pub is enjoyable and relaxing. It has mostly carried off its sailor aesthetic. It has a bit of character due to the quite unintuitive layout. It's just surprisingly good.

You'll find this place slightly off the main road at Woolloomooloo. The choice of beer is decent with many of the usual crowd with additional craft ale offerings. The balcony upstairs is great for a bit of late afternoon sunshine. Live music, plenty of space, great outdoor area on the street and upstairs. Well worth a visit, I will be back.
UPDATE: I still love this place due to the staff, service, music and because they change up the craft ale fairly regularly, but the food menu is now terrible. You can tell everything is now deep fried in the same oil and is totally sub standard. Chinese menu now, spoils it alot. The old menu was excellent, hopefully after COVID they can shake off the Chinese menu.
Was 5 stars, now 4 stars.

I'm reviewing this as a pub - not as accommodation.
A locals place but friendly. Building has charm. Good staff & quite good beer selection.
But don't eat here. Pre-covid it was fairly good, but they lost their chef & food now is dreadful.

* Hidden Gem* They do a choice of chicken, pork, beef or lamb for roast dinner on a Sunday. I had the pork and really enjoyed it, the gravy was very good. Plenty of beers on tap. It has been done out to a high standard since it was renovated. The staff were very friendly and the service was really good. The live music was excellent and I was surpised that it wasn't very busy but there were a few groups of chilled and friendly locals. I'd come here anyway but the fact it is dog friendly throughout takes this place to another level. If a punt is your thing you can do that here too. It also has a very cool terrace and a private dining room. This place was made for a Sunday session - it's a seriously good alternative to The Tilbury which is just down the road, some may even say the Frisco is a nicer venue. Highly recommended.
Just had the half rack of ribs and they were great.
K. S.
Nice boozer, some Rocks beers here too
S. B.
Really nice food - there's a rotating specials menu, and on Wednesdays the salads are on special for $10, and they are really nice. Sadly, it's never very busy during the week - it deserves to be busy - and this kinda kills it for lack of atmosphere. weekends its pumping! Staff are always really nice and helpful.

Had a private function here upstairs at the end of November. The setting was great, with the lush green trees in the surrounding streets offering a lovely backdrop off the large balcony. The food was plentiful and well above average for what you'd expect from pub food, qudos to the kitchen. The staff were friendly and fun, and the atmosphere has retained it's traditional pub feel (with the exception of the pokie room).
J. P.
Went to the Frisco on Sun afternoon for the very first time and was absolutely blown away by the jazz blues up in the first floor bar. Belinda and her band were sublime. Will definitely be back - best spot in Sydney for a wine and great music on a Sunday afternoon 3 - 5pm.
R. A.
Nice little pub in a good spot. The balcony area is quite nice for small functions. The upstairs bar though is a bit disorganised. Tables right near it so queuing up is a bit of a nightmare, and the bar staff dont seem to help the situation (a little seemingly incompetent and rude).
M. P.
I liked and enjoyed my time there. The location and views are nice. However, the food was not the best. Good idea with the chips, but they are quite oily. Overcooked steak. Needs to improve, but wouldn't mind going back specially for drinks. Beautiful terrace and atmosphere. Live music was ok.
A. N.
Nice pub. Clean. Good selection of beers and tasty food. Good spot for an event. The room/space on the first floor is great with a lovely balcony with views of the bay and it's own bar :)
B. G.
By far my favourite spot for a bevie or 2. Dog friendly, awesome staff, and other patrons are always friendly. Do yourself a favour and head down on a Monday for a $10 steak, best pub steak I've ever had.
A. G.
Went there last night for the first few hours of my sisters hens. We booked two tables upstairs. The place is funky, and has great atmosphere without being dark and dingy. All the nibblies and drinks we ordered were beautiful staff are lovely and all the patrons were in good spirits. Especially the manager Rebecca who was smiley and accommodating and ensured we had a lovely time and were comfortable. Alot of us will be back. Thanks guys!
K. J.
My partner & I ate here two night in a row while staying at Ovolo Hotel on the finger wharf. Great pub food, had the $12 Monday steak, the sirloin with chips and salad. Probably the best I have ever had a t this price and better than some at much higher price. The next night we had the Barramundi grilled with chips and salad, again a terrific meal for the price. The chips are brilliant! Sat on the veranda and enjoyed the evening light.

Quiet bar after lockdown friendly staff

Newly revamped Frisco Hotel is a great spot for dinner or drinks with friends. We went for an opening party and it is a great spot for such an event. Downstairs is a huge bar, plenty of bench tables, gaming area and also space to sit outside. There was a band playing downstairs which made for a great atmosphere. Upstairs there are smaller tables, a balcony area as well as a private dining area. The decor has a nautical theme, blues, whites and nautical themed equipment. Trendy and fun bar staff in cool outfits, they were all very hospitable. I had a cocktail, blueberry flavoured champagne, beers and some spirits. For food, we tried a variety of canapés which were all extremely tasty -
popcorn prawns, chicken tenders, some awesome green / kale inspired calamari, gyoza (my favourite), and grilled prawns. The food was great!

If God owned a Hotel it would be the Frisco and his Angel's would be the girls that managed our event on Saturday night. From the minute we walked in we were treated like royalty and reassured that anything we needed was possible. The food was exceptional but we under catered due to a couple of late additions to the numbers and at the risk of running low the waitress and cook whipped up a number of delectable delights to keep us well fed. Heliose our event coordinator (head Angel), we love you and you team and can't thank you enough for looking after us so well.
T. K.
Not a bad pub. An old style pub with a large upstairs balcony. Food is okay, but not sure it's deserving of a best cheap eats award. Not a very good beer selection.
S. P.
Mid week visit ... not busy - service was great and kitchen was happy to work with specific dietary requirements.
L. N.
Overpriced beer but free pool on a Sunday until 9pm. The food is standard pub grub, but the service is surprisingly friendly. Word of warning - a friend used his card on the internal ATM and had $400 scalped from his account. We called the manager to give him a heads up and he didn't seem bothered!
S. W.
Had a birthday event here, really nice venue, all my guests complimented the venue choice for aesthetics and atmosphere. Great food. Heloise organised the event so well and it all went smoothly
G. L.
Busy. Noisy. Has that old pub atmosphere. The fish and chips is excellent and the best place for a table is up on the balcony 😀
T. C.
Adam,
You have done well. If wasn't for Amanda, Heloise, Flavia, Rebecca, Aleks, Angie and the rest of the wonderfull bar staff, this place would be empty. We have been here for 4 months and if it wasn't for these fabulous girls, we would have gone elsewhere .
Overall, if you make the effort to meet these girls, you will get the same reception.
We have been treated like part of this family.

My partner and I held our wedding ceremony and reception at Frisco Hotel on 31st October 2018 and had an amazing time! From the very beginning Bec was so amazing helping me organise everything from food and beverage, to having the decorations and cupcakes delivered, to rearranging the furniture to suit our needs. The food received fantastic feedback from all the guests as well as the service from Fleur and Eloise! What a night! I'm so very thankful for the staff making our night a memorable one and just being great people! Thank you Frisco Hotel you are immortalised in our hearts!!
M.
Just came here for a lunch, Friendly service and decent food in the form of a beef burger with chips. One negative is them putting too much salt on my chips by default (i think should always put less and let customers salt it more if need be)
G. G.
My favourite venue in the East which has played host to many of my work Christmas parties. Since the renovations this place has really come alive and absolutely buzzes on the weekend. Great food and friendly staff.
M. Y.
We came here for it being known as dog friendly- bit disappointed by the smoking area being what seemed inappropriately close to the pedestrian areas as stated by NSW laws. Food was ok.
S. D.
The bar is nice and the food is very good. The accommodations are only okay. You share a bathroom and there is no heat so I came down with bronchitis while I was there, but the bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever been on and you can't beat the price for Sydney. Staff is super nice and helpful and fun to talk to. Would stay again for a budgeted trip.
G. W.
Great country style pub almost in the heart of Sydney. Chef (Bobo) cooked us an awesome lunch, ask for his waffles 😋. Will definitely be back sometime.
v. l.
A lovely quite pub in the heart of Woolloomooloo.Happy hour great.I luv the outdoor sitting...
Disappointed with the lack of taste with the nachos.Couldnt taste the meat as the gluggy beans tries to overtake the dish.Be nice to have a proper nachos dish..failed.
e. A.
a bit old but cheap drinks
C. R.
Sunday afternoon is brilliant at the Frisco. Great food , excellent beverages, friendly staff , a happy crowd and an awseome jazz band. I will be back.
A. M.
Nice pub with a good range of beers and great food. I had the grilled barramundi and it was sensational! I felt that the beers were a little pricey though.
A. G.
Hot bartender, but the burgers are chockers with sauce and the baskets let all the sauce grease through to the table, sad.
Plus, they looked at my friend when he walked in and called him a ‘silly pants Sam’ and made fun of his attire!
K. J.
Frisco Hotel is located in a nice spot near the woolmooloo harbor. Not as popular as the a Woolmooloo Bar Hotel. Friday visit was a surprising quiet affair. I was informed that it gets busy on the weekend. I would like to see that!
R. M.
Bar staff struggled with our order, but everything else was fantastic! Attentive staff, dog friendly balcony, good beer and great food.
C. C.
Really good atmosphere... friendly staff and nice food
A. T.
Great little pub. Nice food and excellent friendly service. Probably the best pub for the area. Great balcony to enjoy on a sunny day too.
D. A.
Cute space. The balcony is quite nice. The food I had was border line rotten. Needs to improve. Be warned.

B. E.
Old standing sailor pub in Woolloomooloo. Basic beers and spirits and restaurant up stairs. Not bad for a few quiet drinks after work
P. P.
The recent renovation has done wonders. The beers are well priced for the area. Good service, pub food here is very acceptable.
C. L.
Since being renovated sometimes its very quiet they seem to mainly cater for large groups & the hotel & bistro are not wheelchair friendly
R. S.
Good food and a decent beer selection. Can be quite loud when crowded. The upstairs balcony is great.
G. A.
Friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks. Good atmosphere also
J. W.

L. P.
Very dog friendly. Food was pretty good. Merlin and I rate the chips 10/10

Decent unpretentious boozer. We've spent many an hour here playing pool and drinking fat yak. The food is good value too
Y. O.
Not a bad venue but they need more of craft beer selections on tap.
N. T.
