Stayed there a few times, always take our guests out there as a real Outback experience, odd characters at times but always friendly locals. Love sending many Tourists out there from Lightning Ridge telling them its a "must do" Do go ! Do try ! You'll love it I promise. Gary Berry aka Chambers of the Black Hand Mine the Ridge.

Best outback experience we have had so far. Take the bus tour out of Lightning Ridge and save wear and tear on your own car. Experience a totally different lifestyle and meet interesting and friendly locals. ANZAC Day was exceptional

This place I recommend to adventurous, spontaneous people. Those who like to complain about things rather find other place! Accommodation adventurous, reasonable, facilities are there 😉. Friendly locals! Stunning night sky, sunsets and sunrise!!! I have a constructive complaint though: 3 stars because 12 years later since we first stayed here the place - accommodation in particular - went down the hill. Lots of dust in cabins (it seems they only change bed linen there now), in general the area around cabins seems to be messier, old mouldy fridges that don't work and you cannot really store your food in, there is a water pump next to cabins that makes lots of noise now... This place has a great potential with a little more effort from managers.. We'll come back again though one day 🙃

Today did the 3 pub drive yourself tour starting from Lightening Ridge firstly going to the Pub in the Scrub then the Sheepyard Pub & ending up at the Glengarry Hilton for a great burger with the lot lunch & a couple of cold frothies, only stubbies & cans but worth the trip out there to see the opal fields of Grawin & Glengarry.

Wonderful stop for lunch. Very welcoming staff and patrons at the Glengarry Hilton. We had a great meal here, ordering the chicken burger and the beef schnitzel. Extremely tasty, and the two of us enjoyed our meals very much! Prices for both beer and food were very reasonable too. The atmosphere of the pub is great as well. There is lots of seating in the shade, and even a little spot for tourists to fossick around in out the front of the pub. Definitely a worthwhile stop if you're out exploring The Grawin.

Right in the middle of know where. Long dirt roads totally isolated then at the Hilton is a hide of activity. Amazing. Had a nice counter lunch..burger & chips. Recommended visit. A little way out 70km on the middle of woop woop. Have a good Navigator.

Definately a great experience for anyone of any age. Stopped here for a cool drink and feed but unfortunately we were too early as kitchen was closed. Lovely lady at the bar was willing to accommodate our hunger with a light snack as a substitue. Highlight I enjoyed was including our names on the wall like many previous visitors.

Pub full of complete aussie characters. The food was rustic and the drinks were cold. They have good wifi and a big tv. We had burgers and steak...worth checking out. You can chat with miners ... buy em a beer for some wild stories

Just had the best Christmas Day lunch ever at this pub!!! B'anka the manager is amazing. Great family of staff, friendly and helpful. Also found an opal chip near the Car Park straight away.... good omen lol. So,a huge shout out to B'anka the manager on duty. Also her partner Mitch.. She's 6months pregnant with an adorable pre schooler in tow but they managed to make a huge feast for 50-100 ppl, as well as running the bar etc. and always with a smile on her face. Cannot praise her enough. And her food was IN-CREDIBLE! Mountains of fresh prawns, roast meats all done beautifully juicy and soft, carved ham for days, a dozen great salads (particularly the potato salad with her Nans recipe!!) and then a massive dessert bar (the pav was great). One tiny flaw was bar service a little slow due to the amount of customers on Xmas day. But that's to be expected :) Atmosphere is great, food great, staff all great.... can't praise enough. Will be coming back for sure!!!!

Not to be missed. Fantastic pub in the mining area, worth the visit. I was on Outback Opal tour from Lightening Ridge. Had a tasty dinner with fresh food. Staff helpful and plenty of friendly locals who welcome outsiders.

Brilliant!!! What an experience in all the right ways.

OK. So this review is relative. This is the middle of nowhere. 75k from Lightning Ridge over some not so great roads. Its a fun place to visit. You always meet very interesting people. There is a pub of course and they actually have some pretty decent food. Mainly you come here to prospect for opals. You can either get a claim or casually prospect through the mounds of leftovers. P.S. this isn't really the Hilton. Drive from the Ridge and prospect for the day and have a drink at the Hilton. You will never forget it.

The Glengarry Hilton is a living and thriving legend. A "must visit" icon in the Lightning Ridge area. Any holiday to the Ridge, must include at least a full day experiencing 'the fields' Grawin, Glengarry and Sheepyard.

The locals are friendly and funny. Look up a Bloke called fingers he may even show you down his mine. It’s another world. The people stick together and they don’t seem to judge you.
