Comments of Jamberoo Pub
G.
You like old school pubs? Try this puppy out! It’s over 150 years old… that’s like super old. This pub is the OG, you know what I’m sayin? Can’t get more of that old school charm than you can from Jamberoo Pub. Plenty of drink options, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. Might be lacking on space, but makes up for it in character.

Great time. Lovely meal. Bangers and mash..... which did not disappoint. I usually stay away from pub bangers but these were superb.... not a smidgen of gristle.
From their website.... One of Jamberoo Pub's best features is its unique "Johnny Warren Museum".
L. D.
A very nice country pub with lots of memorabilia dedicated to Australian football star Johnny Warren. The food was good but not great.
S. M.
Love Jamberoo! Such a quaint little village and the pub has a congenial lunch offering. The surrounding countryside is beautiful! People are so friendly too! Love you Jamberoo! Shall return!
N. J.
Great atmosphere, beautiful pub, excellent service. Coeliac friendly - separate fryers. Staff go above and beyond! Highly recommend!
M. A.
This pub is so accommodating and so cozy.
Second time visiting, this time for a 40th. The staff are great and really in tune with customer service. Its outback Aussie's without the red tape.
The food is absolutely amazing. The flavours and the size is phenomenal. One of the best restaurants I've been too. I'd come for the day and night just for the food.
Plenty of room to stay either at the accommodation located at the back in a separate complex or stay upstairs in the pub for that authentic feel. Everything is sorted in by the pub. Staying in the pub is about half price to the back area.
Motorcyclists come and go and constantly ride past as it's the start to a well road used for day trips.

Great little country pub staff are friendly awesome atmosphere and the food is pretty good

Nice old pub in Jamberoo, a pretty little villiage in a green valley inland from Kiama. The food was pretty standard pub fare but well cooked. The steak sandwich was tender and actually contained beetroot indicating a proper reverence for australian culinary tradition. My companion had calamari rings which were delicious and not at all rubbery. The salad was crisp and tasty. Price wise it was quite reasonable. The pub has a pleasant beer garden out back. The Jamberoo area is worth exploring if you have a car or bike .
Nearby Minnamurra fals is a must and the views along the coast from Saddleback mountain are spectacular.
S. N.
What a great Pub to stay, beds super clean, warm and comfortable.
The pub is cosy and heaps of memorabilia to look at. Hot shower and yes it has creaky floors, but it adds to the character of the place. Wonderful hospitality.
S. D.
Awesome old pub. Full of history. Stoped in here after a day at the jamberoo water park. Good, genuine pub meals.
j.
Great country feel, great food, very helpful friendly staff, lots of photos and memorabilia
A. H.
Its only small inside but the food was good. Lots of memorabilia.
M. M.

T. G.
Nice place too stop for lunch. Good menu, nice outdoor seating and heaps of space indoors.
K. L.
Had a lovely stay at this historic pub. Jamie greeted us at the door upon our arrival and showed us immediate friendliness and hospitality. Staff were helpful and available if we needed anything. Would definitely return there again. A lovely relaxing stay.

I used to come here as a child with my parents and then started bringing my own children many weekends over the year and staying overnight in the accomodation. Decided to visit with my daughter, brother and father today after many years of living in NZ. Very disappointed in the ‘service’ by staff today. It’s a real let down when you go back to somewhere after many years of memories only to find you are let down. Seems now that the pub is not very child-friendly and I wonder how much of their ‘children will be sold as slaves’ and ‘children will be turned into pies’ have hidden meanings? The chap at the bar was not very welcoming. Even worse was the chef, a bearded chap who just did not seem to want to be there in the slightest. Not even slightly warm (and I’ve been in customer service/airline industry many years). He did not smile and you, well, just could not warm to the guy. Ordered the kids nuggets and chips for my daughter which came with a drink and ice cream but at no point was the drink or ice cream given or instructions on how to get them by the chef. I winged it by asking for the drink at the bar. I had the Wagyu beef burger which, personally for me, was nice. Real lettuce, nice seasoned meat and lovely chips. My father and brother had rump steak and the chicken breast which they thought was quite average at best. At the end I asked in the kitchen for the ice cream that my daughters meal came with and said “Chocolate will be fine” and the bearded chef rudely said “It just comes in a cup”, handed me the ice cream cup and then slammed the door of the kitchen in my face with a p off attitude. Oh well, some things change over time. This is probably one of those things. Maybe we came on a bad day reading other reviews. Maybe the staff need to come to NZ to learn how to be friendly and what customer service really means. Who knows. Either way, would not go out of my way again. Darren Masters-Journalist-The Post newspaper.

Good service. Pleasant large meal. Nice surroundings. Very clean
A. B.
It feels like going into the past it is a very nice old pub. Food quality 12/10, full of flavour, juicy and really crunchy chips, the beer was great as well. I Got a barramundi burger and it was absolutely delicious, I don't think I can eat a beef burger anymore after this. Nice customer service with good live music and atmosphere.
N. R.
Great ambiance and lovely staff!!
Beautiful beer garden and I love that they have Guinness on tap.
Food not many stars. The hamburger did not seem like it was fresh, it was a dark colour and tasteless, I wish I didn't order it.
N. F.
This pub has the most amazing meal. And the menu has Gluten free options unlike any other restaurant I've seen.
The staff are very friendly and I took a pic of a board I seen in the pubs dining area
M. A.
Sunday rainy drive led to a great little pub, no reservations needed for a table for 4. Ordered at 5pm and food arrived 15mins later. Very happy with the experience and will be back for sure.
C. L.
One sure couldn't tip toe quietly to the toilet in the wee hours lol, old pub has an old feel to it. Lovely for the night but accommodation abit over priced.
K. L.
Nice pub atmosphere. Sad to get a COVID alert later
K. P.
Really interesting pub, great tribute to Jonny Warren
M. M.
Hadnt been back for 20years at least but there for a surprise birthday for a friend. Still the same great old atmosphere. A friendly barman with a smile and a chat and service was great. No problem doing anything to keep customers happy. Even with covid check-in was made easy and helpful staff. Cold drinks and super interesting memorabilia on the walls. Beautiful old pub with history. If only the walls could talk lol. Be back again soon. 👍👍👍👍
M. M.
Always feel uncomfortable in a local pub when there are almost no locals drinking or eating. Food was only average and beer was $6 a schooner
K. F.
Casual, friendly county pub with decent meals
S. N.
Great pub with testimonials to Johnny Warren and all other sports plastered over all the walls. Very friendly and helpful staff with the rooms clean, comfortable beds fully air conditioned. Will be back for sure.
s. t.
I don't normally post reviews but thought I will for this occasion. My girlfriend and I had a day of driving around the coast and were on our way home when we decided to stop in for a feed. It was 3:30 and was told the chef had just gone home for the day. Not a problem that's our fault, but they opened the kitchen back up just for us and the food was amazing. I will stop in for lunch when ever I'm passing through (earlier this time) can't beat great service!!
B. M.
I am a local and have been attending this pub for 30 years. Pubs don't get any better than this. Great publican, great staff, great food and fabulous beer. Roll all of that into a truly historic pub with genuine local memorabilia , brilliant atmosphere and friendly locals and your on a winner. Well done Jamie and Ross.
R. D.
Brilliant interior and nice beer garden. So many gluten free options and a separate fryer. My first gluten free schnitzel burger in years!
C. X.
First time out Jamberoo way. Stopped in for lunch and had one of the best rump steaks I’ve ever eaten.
I. J.
Nice cold drink on very warm day
E.
Beautiful looking old pub, great beer garden and friendly staff. Meal was delicious but smaller than expected. Ordered schnitzel and veg for $20, was really tasty. If your really hungry order a starter as well.
B. N.
Good place for lunch.a few beers
C. S.
Quick visit while on a car rally. Lovely old pub and nice outdoor setting too. Would love to go back and try the food.
G. B.
A great place to meet and catch up with friends. So much history in this pub. The Old beer tastes great too.🍺
M. B.
Oops did not visit this Pub so can't say, sorry.
E. B.
Very nice pub, you can see it got a history behind this walls, we don't spend the night here so we can only talk about the beers and food. The beers are nice and cold, and have a good range of it.the food is nice and comfort. Nothing over the top, anyway it's nice and tasty. Overall a must to stop by for a brake and some food while traveling.
S. D.
Called into the pub on a sunny Sunday for lunch. They had a nice crowd there all ages. Enjoyed a burger from the menu there was plenty to choose from and the prices are ok. Not cheap but ok for pub food. The main thing I would like to comment on is the young staff members. All were very polite and friendly knew their jobs and did it well. Congratulations to the staff members that were there today.
W. B.
Very nice place to stay,
Quite great food, good atmosphere.
Very clean and comfortable.
Will definitely be back again for a much longer stay.
J. P.
Quality meals with quantity and good presentation
T. B.
Quirky pub, inside and outside seating - beer garden was lovely for lunch today
Staff are lovely and we really enjoyed our meals - the barra and the schnitty burger
S. W.
Found this place by accident and was one of the best town/pub to visit. Welcoming staff and helpful owner, defiantly worth a visit we will be back
S. 2.
Great little pub. We had a great fish and chips!
Definitely recommend.
Staff are lovely too.
E. P.
Gorgeous little town. The accommodation was lovely, I was in a room at the back with a bathroom and it had everything I needed for my stay including a beautiful balcony and view! Can't recommend this little town that's off the beaten track enough!
R. G.
Well I thank you for everything that for us as thanks for jamberoo pub having us there and with service and helping that was greatful for it was and our group was call stitches group
A. G.
Nice pub, meals were good, but we got there at 6pm and they were already clearing up and closing bistro at 7-7:30?? Also NO coffee or dessert available after this time!!
A. M.
Awesome spot. History, booze food, friendly staff and a great little motel. Close to Kiama but without the **** factor of Kiama if you know what I mean.
A. G.
Great country pub, good food, the Johnny Warren museum and memorabilia well worth checking out
J. F.
Beautiful and very welcoming pub. Bar and food staff really friendly and helpful. Lunched in the beer garden and enjoyed some excellent live music. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
T. A.
I stayed here (upstairs pub accommodation) last weekend for a road cycling trip. Fantastic location for riding! Some great climbs in the area. The pub itself had great food and the staff are really helpful. The accommodation was simple but cheap and would be excellent for a group trip, and i will be going back. Thanks Jambaroo Pub for a good time
O. W.
Yes, my friend Like and I dropped in there, a couple of weeks ago, because of the holdup at the door, as they do the right thing regarding contact ability, he even gave us a free beer, how good is that, made me feel guilty
M. M.
The beer is cold, the garden seating comfortable & the locals friendly. The food here is overpriced pub bistro food and this does let this place down a bit. Besides that, its a nice spot for friends and family to meet with loads of seating, kids welcomed and entertainment sometimes offered.
m. w.
We were here today because we were seeking decent Wifi connection while staying at Jamberoo Resort (which has non existent Wifi). Jamberoo pub satisfied. Free, good Wifi.
While there we enjoyed some good pub food and good pub atmosphere. We were able to find a quiet corner to work in the dining room. The whole place was kept cosily warm on a cool Saturday night, then again on the drizzly Sunday.
I know this place would have been buzzing if the weather had been different. You can usually expect some good weekend entertainment in the beer garden at the back.
I learnt a lot about Australian soccer (sorry, football!!) from reading the paraphernalia on the dining room walls.
The place has a really good feel.
F. B.
Nice country pub - with lots of sports memorabilia - particularly Soccer & Johnny Warren. Great place to spend a few hours reminiscing..
A. B.
As a football fan this is the greatest pub in Australia. Great food and atmosphere and location is truly remarkable. If you are travelling down this way maybe for a visit to Jamberoo Recreation Park then this is your must do stop whilst in the region. Close to picturesque Kiama and not far from Minnimurra Rainforest there is plenty to get you thirsty or hungry for a great day trip down this way.
G. D.
Brilliant, great hosts, excellent dinner, nothing has changed as the Warren family have always been Simply the Best 👌👌👌👍
G. C.
Family run, country hotel, cannot get any better than that. Every one is made welcome. Good food, accommodation clean and comfortable.
W. W.
The Johnny Warren museum was fantastic! So much memorabilia and a nice vibe to the pub beer garden was decent and food was fine.
S. M.
Loved the feel and the courtyard for lunch
S. W.
Great old venue and bar with so so so much character.
But the bistro schnitzel resembles frozen supermarket ones.
I. S. M.
Best old pub near to Sydney, real old style hard to find! Food is as is pub food but the feel is amazing, cold beers live music in beer garden out back, I for the wall could talk...wow
V. T.
We stayed in the Motel section for two nights. On the positive side it was clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable. On the negative side, it was quite dated and not as depicted by the web photos. We were concerned that the smoke alarm was missing from our room, and were told "it must have been missed when we changed them". It was fixed the next day after a second complaint, but then became unhinged during the night. Personally, I didn't find the management friendly, but the waitstaff were really nice.
J. M.
The Jamberoo pub has good entertainment meals and ice cold beer. What more do you need? It's a great place to refresh wherever your going on the south coast
p. t.
Best and only pub in town with heaps of character.
L. D.
Pub had fabulous memorabilia everywhere, food was great and the little town just beautiful
N. K.
Best calimari and chips I've ever had. The bistro can make many of the menu items gluten free on request and are happy to accommodate substitutions. Bartenders are friendly and helpful. However, as with most pubstays, it can get noisy when you're trying to sleep.
D. R.
Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Very cool old pub with lots of interesting memorabilia. Well worth a visit, set in a beautiful area too
D. D.
Definitely an eclectic vibe with the memorabilia and artwork on the walls and ceiling. The staff were friendly and helpful and the meals were delicious. Definitely worth the drive

Jambaroo has two facets
It's a lovely country pub with great location, staff and food. (The locals were very nice to a couple of out-of-towners too)
The other side is the accomodation which was spacious, clean and very comfortable.
P. B.
Not crowded, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Always enjoy the stay, rooms are old but tidy. Bed was comfortable.
M. P.
Iconic NSW country pub. Came through Jamberoo with 2 clients on the back of the Trike and stopped for them to take refreshments. They were most impressed and independently will call back again.

Took the time to visit Jamberoo Pub, once owned by the late Johnny Warren, Captain Socceroo - an Aussie icon - and a one-time, pleasant acquaintance. The pub's now run by his family and it's everything you'd expect from a quality, country establishment.
Three stars only from me, because it's not really my "thing" - but I can imagine others giving it up to four stars but not more.
