I am not a fan of whiskey but the cocktails whipped up with them have changed my stance! Everything we ordered could of been priced a few bucks more as it was quality. The tartare was the stand out dish. The oysters were the best value as it was happy hour!

I had an amazing experience in Kittyhawk. I went with my friend for dinner and drinks, I made the booking online with a request to a quiter table. We arrived on time, they had my table ready and further away. We had the banquet for two and it was great, very delicious and tasty and portions are just right. Their cocktails also are great, we even requested something not in the menu and they made it for us perfectly. Highly recommended

Kittyhawk is a delight. Delicious food, generous portions and the staff are complete angels and super accommodating. We were there for an engagement event and it was of a quality of service we would get from a high class reception! Everything was timed perfectly and everyone was attentive. Super special shout out to Jude, AJ and Maddy who looked after us. Cannot thank them enough for being so generous and sweet to us. Definitely book this place!!!!

Great place and a hidden gem of a super busy bar with great food options. A fun night with 4 of us out on a Friday night. The wait staff were very attentive and all happy to help. The drink prices reasonable for being in the heart of Sydney. Our food choices of salads, chips and the amazing huge size T bone steak were all delicious. I think it would be great if they had a smaller more intimate restaurant somewhere else as well, as the food was that good. But for a fun night out with a group of friends this place is perfect.

Upscale vibes and upscale prices. great selection of alcohols for cocktails. Attended for an event, layout is only okay for events but staff and service is all friendly and fast.

Drinks were nice. Was disappointed that they changed the menu and removed that pasta dish after reopening which I was so looking forward to trying. Food came out really slow, we waited at least 30 minutes after the first 2 dishes and had to ask the staff to check on our order status. Staff didn't seem to have much knowledge about the menu. We ordered stake tartare(without noticing it comes with fries) so we also asked for a side of fries. Was only when the tartare was served that we realized there's a huge portion of fries in the dish. If the staff was woke they should probably suggest the customers that ordering an extra serving of fries wouldn't be necessary for 2 people when they already got the tartare. If you get a booth seating it's lovely, but there were all these teeny tiny squashed awkward 2 seater tables at the back end dining area which looks like they are just trying to squeeze as many people they can in the dining space. Like sure, now there are no restrictions anymore but some decent social distancing for the guests would still be nice. Noise level: way too noisy on the weekend - you can hardly hear the other person with that kind of tight seating arrangement. There's no way you can chat for 2 hours with that level of noise without getting a sore throat at the end as you'd be semi shouting the whole time. Great buzz for some drinks and laughs but definitely not an ideal spot for a proper catch up that involves a lot of talking.

We had an absolutely fantastic night! Kittyhawk has such a great ambience, but even better was the service. Our waitress was frequently checking in on us and offering to take photos, and made great suggestions as well. Service here was unparalleled to anything we’ve experienced in Sydney. We wish we could have personally thanked our server before we left, we will definitely be coming back!

Had a great anniversary dinner here, the entrance is quite unique with the mini hallway, but when you enter the restaurant your eyes will feast on cost soft vintage furnishing. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The cocktails were well balanced and smooth.

Great bar! I really liked the music, lighting and layout. Conveniently close to the Sydney Conservatorium of music for after concert drinks. An enormous range of drinks, wine by the glass was affordable and the food really felt like France, with small tasty servings that fill you up Loved the business card paper airplane

Went here on a lunch date with a friend. The place was relaxed and mostly empty which was lovely compared to outside. Similar menu to the evenings with an emphasis on the bar. Latter who served us was gorgeous and attentive. Food and decor are themed and upscale. Would recommend if you’re looking for something special. Lunch is only Thursday and Fridays after 12.

This bar. I have fallen in love with this place and it's bar staff. I happened upon this place due to an event that was held. Beautiful interior, clean as clean can be, the drinks are amazing and that's attributed to the stunning staff, service as well as security were an absolute joy to deal with, no problems and all smiles. This is a must for anyone in need of a good quiet night with drinks. On my next visit will try the food that I have only heard good things about. Keep up the awesome work kittyhawk!

Late post - dined here a few months ago. This place was buzzing and all tables were occupied. I recommend trying to book during peak times. Service was attentive and food came out at a relatively good pace. The steak and mussels were amazing. The place can get quite loud at times but it has a great vibe and is great for groups or couples. A place I’ll definitely head back to!

Awesome dining experience. The decor is very cosy and french with USA memorabilia throwbacks to the end of WW2. The cocktails were very tasty and well balanced - particularly liked the lemony Phillips Lane and cinnamony Grogram. The recommended daily menu is really good value - with plenty of food provided! The steak was tender (and very rare - which was fine for us, but shout if you need it cooked a little longer), the oysters were as-fresh-as-can-be (just a bit shelly in our case!) and we really loved the Camembert. My partner also liked the iceberg lettuce side a lot.

Absolutely adore this place. Be prepared to be transported back in time to the 1940s and across waters to the other side of the planet in France. The ambience is comfortably dim and old-fashioned luxurious. The live music Saturday nights has a completely different vibe to after-work drinks on a weeknight. The rum and rye cocktail list is extensive, but the super friendly and very well presented team there never fail to wow me when I let them choose my cocktails for me. And the food menu, although limited, is filled with hearty deliciousness. I rave about this place to anyone who'd listen, as one of my favourite bars in Sydney.

Thursday night was great - about 10pm, not massive crowds, nothing else round so you know you’re going to get people here wanting to come not stumbling past. Great selection of cocktails and whiskeys and rums. Three piece live jazz set - wow, made the night. Bartenders won’t explore outside the menu but there’s some great options.

Pros: This cocktail bar / French restaurant has a great interior, huge selection of spirits, a cheap happy hour and live music on Thursday nights. Cons: The cocktails are Sydney-priced (expensive) but hey, you’re in the middle of Sydney and the waitstaff are good at what they do!

Great tasting cocktails. Bar was busy from 7-9. Live jazz music was great but around 9:30pm it became a competition of who could scream louder, the patrons or the singer. It was nice at the start of the night but it started being a nuisance to many patrons. It became quite around 10:30, but it took the Maitre D' almost 30 mins to finalise the bill, talk to everyone and keep forgetting to come back to us. So after the fourth time, we went to the bar from the seating area. Poor service, horrible late night musical ambience ruined the night. I need to go again to try and redeem Kittyhawk.

Attended a function here last night, the venue is such a cosy little hidden gem. But I was absolutely blown away by the bar staffs service. Polite bar service isn’t rare, however Remy, Helen, Jack and Matteo are setting a new benchmark in what service with a smile means. Engaging with each patron whilst adding finesse to the way drinks were made, not rushing through the process. Truly this bars finest asset. Beautifully made drinks, willingness to cater and best of all.. they made you feel like it was a pleasure to have you in the building. For this reason alone I will be back. If you are looking for a great cocktail, a chill vibe and clean place to unwind and enjoy your evening.. be sure to check this place out. You won’t regret it!! ( tip the bartenders.. they are worth it! )

We stopped by late on a Saturday night. 4 of us have never been here before. We all will definitely be back. We got table service when just ordering cocktails, which was great. one of us wanted some Japanese whisky, they were out of what was on the menu, however they did talk us through some others.. very knowledge and we learnt something as well.

A nice little pub in the financial end of the town not far from Martin Place. The ambience of the place is great. The menu can be a bit restrictive but it does cater for gluten intolerant guests or vegan guests. The background live music on the Thursday night was great. The place was quickly filled up when we were there. An upmarket classy bar with price to match. The table service could be better but other than that, the place is great to have your TGIF relaxing drinks.

Tucked away down Phillip lane, Kittyhawk is a fantastic place for a cocktails in a relaxed friendly atmosphere. There are large tables as well as more intimate tables. Staff are very friendly and enthusiastic.

What a venue. Beautifully designed interiors. Cosy without feeling cramped. Immediate immersion into the 1940s. The cocktails and old fashioned rum n rye varieties were excellent. Must try the #5 pinapple and coconut and #6 spiced rum and coffee. Food was quick and delicious, steak was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The gnocchi for vegetarians was also a great dish. Service attentive and all smiles. Highly recommended. Would be the perfect backdrop for an engagement party or birthday.

What an awesome find! Caught up for drinks and food with a small group and had such a great night. Extensive wine list and the cocktails were on point- not to mention the attentiveness of the bartenders and wait staff throughout the time we were there. We ordered a handful of dishes from the entrees to share, some of which were recommendations, and all of which were really delicious. Would definitely recommend for a cosy catch-up. Such a fan of the liquor collection and display- the place really has a vibe.

Love it here. The wait staff are super helpful and very knowledgeable on cocktails and wines. If you're lucky they'll make cocktails they don't have on the menu as long as they're the classics. Highly recommend for a group, or even a couple on a classy night out.

Popular place for after work drinks on a Friday night. It gets pretty crowded, but if you manage to get a table it's a great place to hang out, with a fun, laid back retro feel. I'm a beer guy, so I was reluctant to try the cocktails... glad I did though - they are amazing!

This is just my favourite new bar. I love the menu and the cocktails are delicious. But the staff are what make the place - we had a lovely french host the first time we went, the second time Chloe was on the door (I made sure I got her name because she was just so damn nice), and the bar staff were all lovely. The only suggestion I have is that that there is more info about opening hours on the website, it took me a while to find this detail. Your business cards are the best!

Awesome Frenchy / European themed bar. Have been impressed with the cocktails and recommendations from the staff to date. Some items are great value (cocktails) and others unexpectedly expensive (Champagne / Sparkling) so choose wisely! I have also found that the noise echoes around a bit more at the front (where the big windows are) but as long as you aren't in a big group it's manageable. Definitely worth a visit!

Bar staff were super helpful and chatty. They also were quick, which is quite good for the quality of the drinks. I feel the pricing was pretty good for the CBD with most cocktails costing just under $20. We ordered some potato chips to much on while we drank, and they were very nice. Can't wait to go back.

Unsuitable for our dinner party of 15 people. Delicious food and creative cocktails, ruined by confusing service, rude management and poor event management. Over an hour for dessert to be served. Kittyhawk helped arrange a private cocktail masterclass as a surprise present for my fiance. Everything from the get go made us feel so unique and special, like celebrities! Paris/bartender extrodinnaire was so fun and welcoming. He was excellent at pulling out our stories and memories to create flavours which typified them. Needless to say the cocktails were incredible and we loved all the hints we were given. The cheese and charcuterie platters were to die for. I would recommend this experience a hundred times over. Loved the ambient and relaxed environment for drinks after work. Perhaps not suitable for large groups over 6 as the space cannot accomodate for the entire party to sit together. The overall atmosphere and night was wonderful - just be mindful the conditions state bookings over 8 incur a "10% service fee". I found that odd considering the service was no different to smaller groups if not similarly disappointing - quite perplexing. Especially since the lady who served us had forgotten to add on our entree and confused our drink orders. However, we are appreciative that the fee was waived by the manager. Definitely worth a visit but a questionable revisit.

Visited a couple of time, for drinks only, and had food there once. Service is great. Cocktails are delicious. Food hit the mark (I was craving for a steak-frites, and it was cooked perfectly, all in pure French style, and the creme brulee was fantastic with an extra fruity and nutty touch, nothing like the usual dull stuff). Special thanks to Thibault, our waiter for the night, who made the experience extra special. Oh and prices are very reasonable for what you get.

Nice establishment although food is average. The French decor & ambience is impressive, definitely go for a drink or to check out the live music. Save your money on dinner for the many other options around the area. For French cuisine the dishes lacked flavour & creativity leaving my palate to wanting something more authentic. We had the steak tartare (meat was stringy with visceral fat present), charcuterie plate (nothing special & relatively small for $30), legume sides (dripping in oil) & potatoes (no flavour despite interesting menu description of garlic & red wine)

Had a belated Valentine's date with my husband here. We ordered croquettes and tuna tartare to start, followed by steak frites. The entrees were lovely, especially the tuna with a saffron mayo - I could eat it every day! The steaks were a little chewy unfortunately, though the fries were perfectly cooked and the red wine jus was fantastic. We ordered a side of green beans which were beautiful and crisp, served with toasted almonds and pickled onions - a winning combination! Drinks were also amazing, especially the smokey strawberry one whose name escapes me, and the ambience at Kittyhawk is always great. Only downside was the slow service. We waited fifteen minutes after being seated just to see a menu, and had a similarly long wait every time we wanted to order another round or ask for the bill. Hopefully it was just an off night as we've always had excellent service in the past.

If you're coming for cocktails, then Kittyhawk has a very unique taste that's borderline not that great (3/5). The Milk Punch was pretty atrocious! Haha But, everything else is definitely a step up from the Milk Punch... The Kittyhawks ambiance deserves a (5/5)! The service deserves a (100/5)!!! The waitress was so nice and quirky who served my group of friends (14 people) with such energy and positivity! Warm, cozy, cute! Good food! Mains are a bit pricey! This place will hold onto your surprise birthday cakes for a fee of $25 Overall: I love the ambiance and service. And because of those two reasons I would definitely give this place another try next time I'm out!

What an impressive little bar! I love dropping in after work as it's very close to my building. Come for the wine, stay for the authentic French food. Very trendy bar not far from Wynyard or Circular Quay. There is a huge selection of spirits and the decor is set on a Paris theme right at the end of WWII. The best spirit wall behind the bar I've ever seen, the staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is excellent. The best chips you've ever had.
