Bought 3 pieces of sushi roll.
What I love about this place, it was hand made on smaller batches, considering COVID situation at the moment, so keep sushi fresh.
When I visited, some are being made at the back, you can partially see their kitchen.
So I decided to get those along with teriyaki beef avocado and tempura prawns.

got the hello kitty bento, it was hands down the best bento ive ever had. i still have some chicken and rice left because it was so much food.
the pickled ginger is really flavourful but not too strong. i usually struggle to eat it but this is really yummy.
takoyaki balls were really flavourful and full.
the edamame was perfect.
the rice is nice and fluffy.
gyoza was nice, egg was sweet and flavourful, and the seaweed salad tasted nice too.
the fried chicken is to die for. it's kinda like kfc but slightly different. the sauce on top goes with it perfectly. the chicken also had heart and pearl sprinkles on it, im guessing for the hello kitty aesthetic, i got a mouthful of one and it actually complimented the chicken really well. the staff were friendly and i saw them making everything fresh in the back room.
the reason why i didn't give 5 stars is because i got takeaway, and when i reached my location to eat, i realised i hadn't been given soy sauce. also, the first fried chicken piece i bit into was super fatty, it felt really embarrassing to eat and was very messy.
but yeah. i definitely recommend this place, even when the hello kitty promotion is over i would definitely go back and try other menu items.

Had the chilli pork bento and wagyu beef bento. Both were nice, nothing phenomenal enough for me to want to go back again. The customer service was a bit lacking. There were no bins around so asked if we could throw the rubbish in their bin, however, was told to walk around and throw it outside….. I actually had half the right mind to leave my rubbish on the table for them to clean ….. and I’m sure it would have landed up in their bins anyway. That definitely changed my dining experience….. shame.

I ordered the food off the Hello Kitty Town menu, which was very good. There was a good amount of food and it wasn't too expensive. The lady who served us was very friendly. I definitely recommend.

Service slow. A bit pricey, food wise it’s to a good standard. Better than average. Not much seating though

Today we ordered the beef and teriyaki chicken bento boxes ($13 each) from Kushybar & here’s my mixed review:
-The highlights were the flavourful tender teriyaki chicken, takoyaki, refreshing seaweed salad and delicate tamagoyaki!
-The rest were a let-down so I’m not keen to buy from here again.
-I wish they cooked everything made-to-order. The teriyaki beef was dry and cold. The fried chicken and dumplings were cold and lacking crunch. I asked if we can have a freshly cooked box and she said she just made it, which clearly isn’t the case…

I really enjoy the rice bowls here and their meats skewers. they have reasonably priced good variety of rice bowl to choose from under $10 that comes with salad. Green Curry rice bowl with onsen egg is good and their skewers are delicious. Unfortunately they close but have change to another Japanese rice bowl place which I walk pass and saw it. Would love to come back to try their new place.
Update (19/7/2021) : Kushy bar have rebrand and reopen as a Maki, Donburi & Kushiyaki store. They sell all the handmade sushi rolls in store now and has all the various type of Japanese rice bowl such as Wagyu beef, Katsu Pork egg Curry, Chilli Pork, Chicken Teriyaki and Karaage don.

Easy place to get delicious Japanese dons (rice bowls). I got the katsu pork don, which was very good, the katsu was cooked perfectly as it remained really yummy.
Kushy Bar is always a to-go place for Japanese food in Haymarket. Love this place.

Very good option for a quick lunch near Darling Square. The price is fair, service is quick. Wish they had more spicy options though.
They also serve beers

$3.50 for a small roll, $4 for a tuna onigiri. Rice was well vinegared. The fillings/rice ratio was good, and everything tasted fresh. Was pretty yummy, seemed like good value for the price! Would eat here again.

A nice little spot in the city.
The rice bowls are great with good variety for the size of the shop.
I had the green curry chicken rice bowl and i would definitely recommend it. It comes with a salad bowl too to balance the whole meal.
The char siu skewers were also nice.
Definitely something I would come back for.

New restaurant in Darling Square! Have tried it twice now. Very delicious, affordable and reasonable portion sizes. Its quite unique as well! So far I've tried: Lost in Tokyo Salad Bowl $9.80, Tokyo Attact (Japanese Beef Stew with onsen egg) $9.90. They're so good! Can't wait to come back and try the entire menu! :D

Just found this place ordered three "kushiyaki" skewered and the owner gave us free samples of some of the rice bowls. The best thing I have eaten in a long time. Had the "melt in your mouth" and the "Spices me up". Please if your reading this visit this place and try one of everything. Perfect food and perfect service.

Highly recommended! Kushy Bar is a must try at Darling Square. The prices are reasonable and the food is absolutely delicious, freshly served and great with a beer on the side. There is outside seating and the service is extremely fast with super friendly staff. The on duty manager/owner will certainly look after you! I will be coming back to try the other dishes for sure.
