Good spot for a drink and snack. Good service, quick for food and drinks when it was reasonably busy. The food was alright, Market Fish (Barramundi) was great but the steaks weren’t. Also, the Reef and Beef was just a steak with a couple of prawns.

I've been loyal customer of Maloneys hotel for more than 5 years and I couldn't recommend this place more, great and fast customer service, after pandemics went down a little bit as we have to consider the rough times we all lived, but this place stills standing up giving great options and receiving all of us with wide open arms!!

Stock standard Sydney Irish pub. Beer selection is a little lacking to my taste.. only pale ale on tap is James Boags and no xpa or ipa. Atmosphere is good though and staff friendly. Food your standard pub fare.

Maloney's... What to say? I've been going to Mahoney's since they were on George St and the (now not so) new location takes Mahoney's from a dingy basement bar with great pool tables and cheap drinks and turns it into an open, bright pub, still with great pool tables and cheap drinks. It's not the Maloney's we knew but it's still at heart the Maloney's we love.

Order at the bar. Was a bit confused when there was no wait staff, but you don't bus your table. Got some espresso martinis and a Guinness. The meat pie and the lamb stew. Food was very good, martinis were a fun novelty but not something to write home about.

We've been here a few times, it seems to have the cheapest pints of Guinness around Sydney (add a dollar on the next corner west, or double the price near Town Hall station). The staff have always been pleasant and friendly, the food quite good. Be aware that lunch is NOT available on Sunday. As that is the cheap public transport day, it seems a bit silly - more so when the bar staff have mentioned a few times that SO many people come looking for lunch on Sunday. Hopefully management will wake up soon & realise how much they are losing out on. If I have to eat elsewhere, I may as well drink there. The pub is roughly half way between Central and Town Hall stations, an easy walk from either station (getting back is 1/2 the fun).

We stopped in because the prices were right and it was on our way to our next destination. We read the reviews and went with the steak, though the reviews didn't specify which steak was good just a broad generalization that the "steak was good". We got the T bone medium rare with mash. I ordered the garlic butter (which is an upcharge) which came on the side and was solid butter with garlic and was enough for 2 people so split that and save your self a couple bucks. My boyfriend ordered the mushroom sauce (also upcharge) which looked like gravy, it was thick, same portion as the garlic butter, enough for only 1 though. Both steaks were medium rare and tasty though we found them a bit tough in places and fatty around the edges. The mash was perfect especially with the garlic butter which we shared. Overall the meal was filling, if I went back I'd order a different cut of steak. This place doesn't offer table service which is strange to me given the size of the place, order at the bar and they will give you one of those vibrating things. The service was so- so as it was limited to ordering and picking up the food. I can understand where other reviewers are coming from as this place does seam to cater to a younger crowd. I didn't have a problem with the music, but it was around 3pm on a Monday. I heard something similar to Taylor Swift and also Tracy Chapman, those were the only ones I knew. Overall price wise it was worth it.

This pub has a nice wooden decor but is lacking a big screen that would be great for sports. The food is average and relatively expensive for the area. They have some great drinks deal though, like the $8 jug of XXXX and $6 pint of Guiness.

OK. Let's cut the chaff with this one. You're looking for an Irish Pub. You want beers. They have beers. They have fantastic drink specials. $6 Guinness. Other beers seem to rotate but every time I've been, Guinness is that price, which for Sydney prices is absolutely phenomenal. The food is above average quality for the pub food standard. Good menu selection. They have high chairs available to the tiny humans. Friendly staff, Good priced beers, Good food. What more do you want?

Had read mixed reviews about this pub so wasn't sure what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised that the meals and drinks were well priced - $20 for an Angus steak and $9 for a jug of beer - our group were happy. Staff were friendly and helpful. And bonus is that my under 18 yr old was allowed in - have found that many places in Sydney won't allow under 18 in.

Definitely my favourite place to get a cheap drink and meal at the happy hour. Only $8 for a jug of beer. But I always had the steak! A chilled out lounge. But it does get extremely busy on a Friday or Saturday night. Perhaps better to go earlier in the day to make the best of the room available.

I haven't used all the facilities, but it had nice food and friendly security. Staff aren't too approachable, but it is acceptable as they are busy. Unfortunately, the toilets are down a decent flight of stairs so it's an issue for people who can't use stairs or may be too intoxicated.

Checked website specifically for salsa nights after covid restrictions were lifted, arrived at 11pm on a Saturday and there was no salsa music, salsa is only on Friday. The real problem is that the website advertised salsa and it needs to be updated. No salsa on Saturdays. Disappointing.

This pub has the best food by far. Whether it is schnitzels, steaks, chips or pasta, I’ve never been disappointed. So consistently good. Price ranges from $12 to $20 or so for a main meal. $8 XXXX jug is a good deal. $13 steak and chips is a great deal. It's a nice pub, lots of different kind of people coming Here, went few time with work colleagues and some time with friends, lots of space for big groups, selection of drinks is quite wide. And it have the usual CBD pub atmosphere going on. In the end I have always been happy with the service.

Nice beers for quite cheap price (jugs). Love sitting out at the balcony and you can also smoke as well. Didnt really need the servers’ attention because we didnt wanted to be bothered. When you are out of beers, you have to go in, order, pay, and bring it out to your seats(I actually like this system).

Yummy! If you're staying downtown in this section, surprisingly great bar food. Order at the bar, get your buzzer and when it rings go collect your food! The linguini and prawns was perfect and the glazed chicken (sauce on the side) was, too. Guinness $6 Aussie dollars a pint (currently .70 to the uS)

Seems to be the best value food and drink traditional pub set up around the pit that is Pitt St. Over a couple night stay in the cbd I sampled the wagu grade 5 steak, with mash patato with a jug of xxxx for $26. To me that represented exceptional value and was delivered superbly cooked and exceeded all of my expectations for the price. I was at this pub last night for a cousin's birthday. I am in my mid 30s but by far I must have been the eldest person there. It seemed to be a pub for the youngins - especially when all drinks are served in plastic cups. There was a DJ and a dance floor (too close to the bar) and it did take a while to get served - not from slack service but from a busy night. If I was 25 again - I most probably would love this place. But as I get older I'm looking for something a bit more stylish and a lot more classy.

Maloney Maloney the the bar is still opie! If you're in the CBD and you're on the South Side of Town Hall, you're unfortunately going to be running short on happening places. Never fear, because Maloney's here... And it's most likely open, serving drinks... With a DJ playing. It's a great stop in when you're looking for somewhere to polish some drinks, just be mindful that it can get rowdy. If you're anything like me, you are there for exactly that! I hear from friends that it is a great place to visit for a good beer and counter meal during the day too, however, I am yet to try it. Give it a go and let me know.

This is a fabulous location to meet friends . It is a big spacious bar . Newly built hence fresh and modern . A bit of trivia : the famous Chequers Night Club was on this location during 1960s and 1970s . Frank Sinatra performed here early 1960. Rock band Ac/Dc appeared in 1972 who were just starting out and had a small audience of about 30 . I was there.

There's a language school around the corner so the people are mostly Latin American plus Korean and Japanese. Cheap drinks and happy hour until midnight. Haven't been on other nights.
