Nice hidden gem with an old world vibe and very good cocktails. Big shout out to Dave the bar manager for making our night great.
T. R.
The place of all places. The Bar of all Bars. The quintessential place to have a drink, chill, relax, fine tunes, kick back and enjoy the finer moments of life with your loved ones. All be it, friends, significant other, family, a date. This IS the Spot! A place for the connoisseur. Love the Prohibition fashionista vibe.
A. R.
The place is amazing, but what really makes it special is how good the staff are. Perfect for a date or after dinner drinks. Somehow has a great chilled vibe but still upbeat
A. T.
3.5 stars. Been looking forward to this place for quite some time. Finally had the chance to visit on a Friday evening. We were about 20 minutes early for our booking, but the staff was kind enough to seat us. Decor was absolutely gorgeous. Drinks were a little pricey, although unexpected given the location. However, they were also fairly average in our opinion. Service was decent at best. Biggest issue we had was the music, which was way too loud and we were yelling across our little table just to have a conversation. Would love to try the place again but perhaps on a quieter night.
V. M.
What an amazing place! The atmosphere is fantastic and staff so welcoming and professional. We had a seat at the bar and bartender Bidur looked after us so well and he made our evening out so easy and relaxing. A place for mature guests wanting a fun and high standard night out. Thank you
n. d.
It’s dark, it’s underground, it’s hip and it’s all you need for a night out. Bring your friends and enjoy their amazing cocktails, good-looking and friendly bartenders and the amazing live jazz music that they play. I’m not sure if they have the same music every night but it’s pretty damn cool hangout place after work.
E. G.
Venue is really nice. Comfortable inside. The cocktails were ok, on the stronger side.
The waiters were very attentive and nice but seemed rushed and racing around, semi kills the relaxing vibe.
Probably wouldn’t go again.
R. O.
Kyle is the absolute best bartender in the world. He really helped me out when my drink wasn’t tasting right and he help accommodate me to the right taste. Would really recommend xoxo
L. C.
Nice atmosphere for 1 drink
But save your money. 2 x cocktails 50 bucks and the size of the cocktail was less than impressive

We ended up at Palmer and Co while waiting for our table at Mr. Wongs, not aware that they are actually connected and owned by the same people. It was dead empty when we arrived on a Sunday evening, but as soon as we sat down at the bar, we liked it.
The bartender on duty was extremely welcoming and nice, and despite having many duties to take care of (they were short staffed), he made a tremendous effort to make us feel special.
Since we had no reservations for Mr. Wong, we ended up at Palmer for a couple hours and had their liver mousse, which was really great. The cocktails were also great, although some of them did not work for me; however, they were well executed, just not always for my palette.
They helped us get a reservation at Mr. Wongs on a busy night, so we were very grateful, and we also loved the interior decoration and style of the bar. We will come back for dinner at a future point!
P. J. E.
Great service, ambiance, music and seating plan. Would have given 5 stars if it wasn’t for the state of the toilets (someone had thrown up all over the toilet).

Previously part of Tank Nightclub, now transformed into a classy early century styled speakeasy cocktail bar. Great cool vibe and fabulous decor, with really friendly staff. Can take time to get served at the bar, however waitresses are there to solve this issue. A favourite for those that enjoy the finer things in life. Enjoy !!
G. H.
Great cocktails and awesome spot for a speakeasy. Love the vibe here.

On Saturday, November 6th, we had the pleasure of attending Palmer & Co, where we were welcomed by the lovely Carmen. Carmen was a fantastic hostess, not just to me and my party, but to all of Palmer & Co's visitors. The cocktails were excellent, and staff was pleasant, friendly and informed.
It was undoubtedly a wonderful atmosphere she created, and everyone had a wonderful time. We dined on wonderful Cantonese cuisine at Mr Wongs, which Carmen was able to secure. It was unquestionably a fantastic weekend!!!
S. T.
A unique experience. Describe fits the atmosphere. Entrance makes you feel like you’re in on a secret. The suits that show up make you feel like you’re part of a trend. Not an impressive menu, but I very much enjoyed my drinks. Only slightly overpriced but you are paying for the experience.
A. S.
The Vibe is amazing. One of the best speakeasy in the city. And definitely Merivale standards.
C. G.
The best underground bar I have been too. Best night out, staff lovely, great quality drinks. Would definitely return.

Tucked in... Loved the ambience... And the whiskey sour
N. R.
The atmosphere here is incredible. Waltzing in post a Mr Wongs sumptuous repast, debuts what can only be described as an iconic transitional moment where a souls' timeless nature, breaks free from a lifetimes limiting curse - literally step into a space rewound a century and experience something spectacular. A metamorphosis of space and period takes one into the heart of 1920s glamour and spunk, where the staff, the drinks, the venue and the energy of the place is too on point. I will be back. Post lockdown mission: getting the OK to dance on the tables. Rob - you're awesome mate.
E. T.
This place has a speakeasy feel to it. As you scale the stairs down the dungeon & find yourself in an entirely different era. Plenty of craft beer options on tap / bottle. Came here in the afternoon on a weekday & there were a number patrons already. Good atmosphere. Imagine it would be packed on weekends!
D. M.
Awesome spot for a drink before dinner or stay for a meal and enjoy the 1920s swing music. Fantastic service with impeccably dressed staff. The decor is fantastic making for an all round amazing bar. The charcuterie boards are absolutely stunning and delicious
J. M.
Being at an odd time of year we had some issues with places being shut over the Christmas period so we ended up here. I was a little sceptical about going to a mass produced place such as one owned by Merivale. The place is quite big and decorated nicely. We thought we'd drop in for a quick cocktail so we asked the waitress for her recommendations. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and promptly helped us order. The drinks were really good but they took forever. We were just getting up to leave when they arrived at our table. I think if this place is gonna get some extra star ratings they have to work on getting the drinks out quicker!
C.
Really fun atmosphere and theatre. The 1920's prohibition decor is great, instantly making you feel like you are somewhere unique. It can get really busy, but that just adds to the atmosphere. Not particularly cheap, but that's not why you go there. The cheese board is quite nice as well.
S. R.
Hidden away in a basement with access from an alley. Interior decor is very authentic speak-eask, and the atmosphere built around that is fantastic. Staff are in great looking era costumes. Service was super friendly at the bar, and helped this ignorant beer drinker pick a cocktail from a quite extensive list. Making the drinks was a bit a theatre to complete the experience. Highly recommend stopping in for a bit of fun. Note the drinks are running $20+, but that's not really overpriced given there's a couple oz of liquor in each plus the varied garnishes and labor that goes into them. Full table service is available but I'd recommend going to the bar for at least one drink, and watch it getting made.
K. E.
Palmer & Co such good fun, great vibe friendly staff - it is busy...very busy. If your happy to stand and grab a table when one comes free , perfect. Band was playing on the night we went which was great too. Amazing cocktails and you do feel a bit naughty hiding under ground drinking... definately probation style. We did not eat but platters looked lovely - Will be back.
T. J.
Wonderful underground bar with low lit 1920's ambience. Great cocktails with solid wine and beer choice. Definitely recommend although a little pricey which is expected and warranted. Additionally it is wheelchair accessible via a lift in the hotel lobby.
I. C.
Very cool cocktail bar hidden underground with a plain looking entrance in an alley! Very easily missed. However, it is well worth the search. The bar is very large with plenty of seating and little nooks and crannies to hide away in for the more intimate setting. The bar is open late, even on a Monday when I visited it.
The barman was great. Happy to help in cocktail selection and even providing a little history of the drink whilst he made it.
The entrance to the bar is around the left corner from another bar on surface level. As this was closed when I was there, no chance of accidentally entering the wrong place...but watch out for the tiny painted sign to find the real Palmer and Co experience !
Bars mats are cool too. Which way up are you?
H. M.
Very nice atmosphere, cocktails are amazing.
All staff is very welcoming and friendly!
Always going to there for special occasion with someone special.
Absolutely it’s one of my favorite bar in Sydney:)
Especially highly recommended prosciutto platter.
K. M.
Nice little hidden gem, the underground feel really adds to the 1920s vibe. They have some very nice cocktails on the menu, would suggest one of those verses your regular drink. Charcuterie was a perfect snack. Was busy but not crowded around 7 on a Saturday, I could imagine it fills up much more later.
b. b.
What an amazing place to be as a guest. Everything was delicious. Every staff being so friendly ,especially BIDUR YOU ARE SUPERSTAR.
B. K.
Great hidden bar in a small alleyway that has now become a Sydney staple when you are celebrating an occasion or just out for an old world glamorous night. Live music and great cocktails make it a fun place, though the costs of the drinks can add up pretty quick!
D. D.
Great location, ambiance and cocktails. Great for a pre-dinner drink or end of evening nightcap. Will definitely be back.
C. C.
Unsuspecting entrance but once you’re at the entrance...it’s a hive of activity. fantastic atmosphere N staff were really friendly. Also had 49% off my drinks - “just because”
D. H.
Brilliant! Set up like an old speak easy. I can't describe how much I loved this bar. It's a hole in the wall, located directly under the Mr Wong restaurant. A good selection of whiskey for me, and vodka for my wife.
M. J.
It's like walking downstairs and back through time! A night that starts at an almost hidden door in a laneway is always fun and the prohibition vibe of this place is very cool. Great cocktail list, delicious snacks and great service! Will definitely be back!
M. L.
Great vibes and strong drinks. Get a booking to ensure seating
D. Z.
I really loved its environment; dark, old school. Good cocktails (old recipes available, I suggest you try them), and average whiskey list (according to my friends).
E. T.
Palmer and Co. Has always been a favourite of mine and I was more than ready to score a five tonight. Unfortunately tonight's service was somewhat lacking.
It started off incredibly, its a Friday night and no booking and they immediately find a place to seat our party of three. If only this amazing service flowed through to the floor service. After a long wait to order drinks our waits only grew. At one point 25 mintues had passed for an order of red wine. It took a follow up and another drink order to finally receive the long awaited drink. The red wine arrived but it took another long wait for cocktails to arrive.
To receive service we would have to wave staff down even though it was a sit down only table service tonight.
I would have voted a 3 star however upon paying a floor supervisor happened upon the table and was very surpised at my reluctance to comment on the service. Once he understood my concern around the slow service he was very apologetic, empathised and helpful kn relation to the issue. This restored some faith back into a venue I have always loved.
If service had been more proficient we would have ordered more drinks and certainly spent more money as the cocktails are always amazing.
D. L.
Drinks and food were good but they lacked in service. It was a Sunday night, wasn't very busy but took a really long time before anyone came to say hello. It was much faster to just get out of the seat and walk up to the bar and order where all the servers were standing to have a chitchat. Only mentioning this because they charge you extra for table service. Give it a 3 because the drinks and charcuterie made up for it.
P. L.
Great venue with real attention to detail in design, decor and staffing.
We went on a Friday night and were pleased that we had booked as it was packed. The service was really good, all the staff seemed to be very knowledgeable, well trained and very friendly.
We will definitely visit again near time we have a night out in town.
T. C.
FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS Great vibe, great drinks, great decor. Would definitely recommend and go back when in Sydney.
T. H.
Excellent cocktails, limited food selection, but the sandwiches were good. Love the decor/atmosphere.
M. G.
Mystique retro jazz Barr feel with a hint of Sydney City flavour and lots, lots of noise from the particular ceiling shape.
M. S.
Amazing sub terrain stone arches and hardwood beams. Cocktails were on point, pairing well with knowledgeable and approachable staff in a busy but fun atmosphere
G.
Love the interior design and 1920ish style!
Cocktails are great, food is satisfying and staff is very welcoming.
They have accepted me many times with really weird party clothes, feathers and balloons so I am grateful 😊
Looks like a fancy place but feels warmer and really friendly once you are in.
R. D.
We have visited this bar many a times never to be disappointed! if you haven’t visited before its a must one of the best bars in Sydney with its dedication to creating the feel of a 1920s prohibition underground bar, the brilliantly crafted cocktails to match and the live music all make this experience ever more real. On top of this the staff are so professional and make you feel welcome, especially the hostess Carmen Ianni who will most likely greet you at the door or visit your table and is at the very soul of this brilliant bar 5 stars!
M. B.
I kind of love this place. A really friendly vibe, great range of drinks, and when we visited an amazing live band playing while swing dancers tore up the place. Pure fun.
S. F.
Love this place. Incredible vibe. Fantastic staff. Interesting drinks. Great live music and DJ.
K. C.
Great atmosphere with a quaint 1920s theme. Can be quite tough to get service in busier hours. The whisky cocktails are delicious.
T. N.
Great place for cocktails but be aware - it gets very very crowded (obviously due to popularity) so get there early!
S. S.
Incredible host ‘Carmen’ is the word that comes to mind. Great ambiance, sound full music and friendly staff. Awesome place to hang out. Thank you Palmer and Co for an amazing night.
M. F.
Such a cute bar!! Love the decor and atmosphere, and all the waiters and waitresses are European, so with nice accents! The cocktails are really good, however this place was packed when I went last, so come early for seats. The staff were absolutely amazing in accommodating my group of ten by setting aside three tables for us minutes after we’d shown up even though we didn’t have a booking, and the place was packed. I was so impressed with this and would very highly recommend the manager and his staff who took the time to get us seats for my friends birthday, and made sure we had an awesome night.
J. S.
Nice underground bar hidden in central Sydney. The cocktails are good, crown decent and the charcuterie is A grade. Check in out for a late night drink.
B. B.
This bar has great atmosphere and amazing decor. It has nailed the 1920s theme and the drinks are tasty with an authentic feel. Unfortunately, I found the venue to be over priced and the staff added a service fee onto our bill without telling us. It seems a bit steep to charge $80+ for four drinks, two of which were non-alcoholic. I would recommend this venue if you are interested in theme style venues and don't mind paying for the experience. The dinner menu is pretty limited so perhaps consider grabbing a meal beforehand
N. S.
I definitely love this place!
They have the best drink and good selection of spirits, the staff is great, always welcome and relaxed.
This place have style looks like you been back at 1930 even the staff dress like back in the day! They always Have good music on and live music sometimes in the week, they have attention on details every corner of this place is interesting and stylish.
They offer good selection of meat and cheese to share wile you keep drinking.
If you are in Sydney and never been here you need to check this place out!
M. B.
Love this bar! Great decor and theming, drinks are awesome! The meat board and cheese board are tasty and great for sharing!
L. C.
A fantastic bar that is often not crowded (as it could be a small challenge to find). Having table service is a nice touch with friendly and efficient bar staff.
K. W.
Great 20s vibe and decor. Great cocktails and love music! Food is pretty good too for a late night bite.
N. J.
Amazing experience, definitely coming back soon! Thank you Deon for the lovely service
ש. ח.
The recommendations did not lie!
we sat at the bar and received personal attention from the bartender and he has a lot of patience!! the place is great for visiting on vacation in the city
J. H.
I came here with some friends for my birthday drinks on saturday night and I was not disappointed. Ther service was amazing and everyone was so friendly. I also want to highlight how fantastic the staff really are.
At one point of the night I walked over to the bar and and older man in his 50s stood right next to me, unbeknownst to me his group of friends took a photo of my backside. A bartender wearing a red pinstripe saw it and told me that it happened, he had security speak with the men and they left not long after. Having worked in bars whilst doing my degree I have never seen such a positive culture and a protective one; and one that called out behaviour like that. The two men, one I believe was his last night were fantastic about it and checked up on me a few times in the evening. I will absolutely come back and recommend this place! Thank you!
P. V. D. W.
These guys and gals know how to make a drink. Very tasty! The hostess at the door was very nice as were the bartenders. Will definitely be back.
K. H.
The staff were all really nice. Except ordering a drink took forever at least 30 min, even one of the whiskey we ordered was 115 dollar for 1 shot. So can we please get our drinks faster?
D. X.
Really great drinks and excellent service! Thanks Dion
A. K.
Beautiful venue, always a fun time. Definitely prefer going on a weeknight rather than weekend, as it’s quieter and much easier to get a table, and be able to appreciate the decor.
It does seem to be very hot in the bar, and very very loud, maybe because it’s underground and closed in. Regardless, it was somewhat of a relief when we left to get into the cool night air
L.
Great vibes! Great live band and cocktails.
I. S.
Amazing experience!!! Such a great atmosphere and experience was improved with amazing service from the gorgeous Tiffany!! She really cares about the customers experience and makes it worth the while! I will definitely be coming back very soon for another great night!
M.
Brilliant bar with excellent atmosphere. Centrally located with a great selection of spirits and cocktails and a few lovely beers to choose from. Plays very excellent easy listening and 60s-70s tunes. Got a dance floor going here once but mostly a place for drinks. Open late.
M. W.
Excellent venue, superb cocktails, lovely service with smiles. And excellent dresses worn by the hostesses (flapper themed on the night we attanded).
A.
Cocktails in style!
Nice and original cocktails bar underground...
Romantic atmosphere, with eccentric twist...
Ideal for couples or even with friends!
Fancy cocktails list, with interesting choices..
Take your time and try them all!
I. “. H.
Cool underground bar - we ended up here as we were waiting for a table at the adjoining restaurant. It took quite a long time to get a drink and they were quite expensive. I appreciate it costs more for a lovely cocktail but for me it wasn't quite worth the price tag (I had a very tiny glass). Very nice atmosphere though - perfect for a first date!
D. N.
Great atmosphere, good list of cocktails and terrific service
D. X.
This is a great bar! The service is outstanding, cocktails are delicious, and atmosphere is great! Definitely a little pricey, and the service fees are steep, but nice for a special occasion.
D. H.
I love this place so much, the atmosphere, the drinks and importantly the staff are outstanding. Luca did a great job recommending drinks to what we like and they were perfect! Thank you! We can’t wait to come back again!
C.
Underground cocktail bar, great atmosphere, I enjoyed going there two nights in a row. It does get crowded and could be a challenge to get a seat, so I highly recommend booking. Service is fantastic, they are constantly removing finished glasses and make a good effort to ensure tables are not only cleared but also clean - loved the attention of the staff for this!
I took advantage of ordering through the staff and waited at my table, cannot say a bad word about this place - service made my experience great, would highly recommend and return! Thanks team
A. F.
Came here for a first date night on a wednesday evening. Bartender was very charismatic and recommended excellent cocktails. Vibe is very lively with a throwback to 20s feel. Would visit again. Entrance appears a little discreet which you will have to take a turn into an alley.
A. A.
The experience is terrific. The food is okay and the drinks are swanky. The live music always makes it worth the visit. The staff are period-dressed and too, often are the patrons so if you fancy a 20's dress-up. This is your venue.
Be warned, the drinks are unbelievably pricey for what is served. They have a love of using large blocks of clear ice which, whilst cool to look at (see what I did there?), are purely to fill the drink out and make it look much bigger than it is. A 5oz whiskey tumbler with a 2x1x1 cubic inch ice block is a hefty beef-out which leave little room for the $20 cocktail you've just purchased.
That said, quality over quantity.
R. S.
A nice pub in bylanes of George and pitt street. Gives the feel of getting in a dungeon for a party. Nice ambience good collection of cocktails
G. G.
Nice looking bar. Staff is friendly and will definitely do the very best to help you. Prices are just a way too high for what the place is. No tap beer. Stubbies are 12 dollars and any tail will cost you 20 dollars. Menu is limited and any grown man could easily eat 4 of the 16 dollar hot dogs to feel properly fed.
Overall nice place if money’s not an object . Four stars (:
p. b.
Def one of Sydney's most stylish bars.
Cocktails are fantastic.
Live music on weekends.
Mature crowd.
Staff friendly and well dressed.
One of those places that you can dive back in time and get a feeling of how it was during prohibition in the 20s.
B. J.
Very fun underground bar. You’ll find it’s regularly showcasing live swinging jazz music ... and dedicated space so you can dance along! Showcasing extensive cocktail menu but very busy most nights. Table service is available too, wait staff are dressed the part!
M. W.
Exceptional cocktails and service. The staff here are why you'd keep coming back. Warm, busy atmosphere. Great live music. Can get pretty loud so not always a good place for a quiet conversation.
J. W.
Flapper's delight! Cool roaring 20's themed subterranean bar. Seating is limited so reserve a table if you are in a group. Table service is efficient, but waits at the bar can be long. Good selection of cocktails and a handful of beers. Can get quite loud so you may have to use your outside voice.
T. C. T.
This place has a real Gatsby like feel in the atmosphere and interior. Its mostly busy with suits Monday to Friday. There's great drinks (delicious cocktails), the service is slick, and there's live music Fridays and a Saturdays. One of my favourite bars
A. W.
Loved the speakeasy theme that makes you feel transported in time! If your not a cocktail drinker there is very limited wine and beer options. Which for a speakeasy I would have loved a beer on tap! Also would have loved some more table sharing food options besides the cheese platter. But the atmosphere is so unique and fun that's what makes this place awesome.
M. K.
Fancy and cosy under ground bar that provides a great atmosphere for romantic dates or drinks with close friends. Quality service.
Drink prices are higher than an average bar, but when you have a sip you'll know why, the quality is there.
Would definitely come back.
T.
Great and trendy bar. Lacked cocktail menus which would have been nice to see.
Nonetheless the bartenders looked after me as I told them what I liked. Fun atmosphere with old school textures music etc.
Definitely would go again.
D. B.
Went on a Sunday evening with my partner around 8pm and it was nice and quiet. It can get busy later on on a Sunday night. The cheese plate was really delicious and good to share with someone else. The waitress we had was amazing. She was very kind and remembered our orders quickly. At the end of the night she came and checked up on me cause she saw I was getting emotional. Highly recommend
J. N.
Cracking location, excellent live bands and nice vibe. Very hard to hear anything and have to shout to talk. Table service.
L. I.
Very trendy 1920s French vibe - with staff to match in on-theme costumes and live music. The cocktails are very chic and vintage inspired with attention to detail. It's a busy place so just don't expect to walk in and get somewhere to sit.
T. H.
Awesome prohibition era bar with delicious cocktails. Don't come looking for food, cheap drinks or a seat, but rather one of sydney's top cocktail bars. Worth a visit, just once.
W.
Exactly as it's listed
Quite the bar. it's exactly how it's listed on the website. everyone is in 1920's dress, very cool place. If you're from NA, realize that the drinks are not NA prices. Saying that, they have some great drinks, live music, great entertainment. service is really good.
D. D.
We stumbled across this place by chance after a few other pubs. This place is tucked down an alley and hidden underground. it's a time warp to the era 1920s-style clandestine bar serves up an extensive menu of spirits and specially crafted cocktails using very nice ingredients. The wife had a cocktail mojito yeah I had one too it was awesome.
R. M.
Overall a fantastic experience! It's literally like stepping into the 1920's, with all the wait staff dressed in flapper dresses and waistcoats and live 1920's jazz band, it makes for an amazing night out. All the drinks are also appropriately themed, and while the food and drinks are a little pricey, it's well worth it. Located just off George street (just down from the Establishment) it's really close to public transport, which makes it easy to get there and get home :) While it can be quite loud, the amazing atmosphere overpowers any criticism. Didn't try the food, but looked really good 1920's American food (which is quite unusual) Has the feel of a speak-easy and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a very fun night out!
A. T.
Went here with the girls for a night out recently and had the BEST time! The atmosphere is incredible, decked out with 1920's decor and live 1920's music. All the wait staff are dressed in 1920's clothing, with flapper dresses and waistcoats. The food is great, and fits along with the theme (1920's American classics). Drinks are themed too and they have an extensive drinks list, which is great for every taste. Overall, a great night out - Would definitely go again!
L. D.
Would like to provide a big congratulations to the doorman on Friday 22/2/19 who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Despite not staying for long due to how busy the bar was and the large size of our group he still managed to have a very positive impact on our night out!
A. T.
Excellent! Nothing else to say. Just visit and enjoy the cocktails. Was served by Nimi. Spot on personality
K. J.
Chilled laid back cocktail cum jazz bar vibe with rustric industrial history pleasantly visible while not being too "industrial" with experienced bar staff making cocktails with skill and flair without being to grandiose or over the top. Door staff polite and while I'll chatted looked after all-comers and passerbys with equal charm and informative advice and direction. Beyond the door down a flight of stairs I was greeted by the matre'd who directed me to the group I was there to join. Every aspect made me feel quite welcome. I imagine there *might* be a bit of a wait for drink service as the bar serving area is quite small (3 people wide?) however this was not an issue the night I attended as I arrived relatively late and from all accounts past the peak of attendees and was served within minutes.
S. G.
A great 1920's styled cocktail bar. This place is open all hours and the crowd varies depending when you go, as does the amount of people.
The cocktails are tasty and the staff are friendly. Overall a great place to catch up with friends and have a few drinks.
C. J.
Hidden underground this speakeasy is the perfect place to escape for a few cocktails and some jazz. If you ask the staff nicely they might be able to organise a booking upstairs at Mr Wong which allows you to sneak up in their elevator!
S. P.
Good vibes. My friend and I had a lot of fun and we enjoyed the night in this beautiful place. The style is awesome and the staff very nice and good. We've been served from an Italian guy, Mirko, and he treated us like princesses. Thank you!!!
I. M.
I have a reserved area for 10 people and the waitress by mistake put some people in our table while we were at the bar. Anyway we talk to the manager and he really looked after us all night. They really care about their customers. We felt welcome and appreciated. Everyone loved the place and I have a the best birthday celebration. We are coming back soon for sure.
b.
Cute little speakeasy themed bar with fantastic hand crafted cocktails. Expect very long wait times and high prices. The decor is very well presented however a few things are sometimes distracting from the style. This is a place I like to frequent from time to time
S. S.
Best underground cocktail bar in Sydney. Loved it. Thanks to Nimi. She’s excellent.

Great range of cocktails and a really good vibe. I definitely recommend the cured meats that they offer for sharing with friends. Although the prices are a bit higher, the quality of both the cocktails and food is great.
P. G.
Love this spot, great bar for a proper hit out or just a quiet drink. Can be pricey depending on what you order but by city standards it's fine; if you are going to pay city prices put this on the list. I love their themes e.g. negroni week and they if u forgot dinner and get peckish near midnight they do a grilled cheese sandwich !
M. F.
Great spot for drinks and some incredible charcuterie. Every bar should look like this.
A. M.
Mirko was a wonderful bartender! Super chatty & fantastic at what he does! Highly recommend this joint just to see him. Whatever his role, you don’t pay him enough 🙌🏼
N. D.
I was figuratively blown away upon my descent into the basement that is Palmer & Co. I expected atmosphere, drinks, and light fare and had my expectations exceeded on all counts. The place has the feel of an American speakeasy (despite the fact that speakeasies weren't a necessity back in the day), melding it with the coziness of your favorite dive, mixed with cool vibes and great music. Their charcuterie menu provides more than the name would suggest and I had some of the best mac & cheese I've tried and their mixologists bring together contemporary, classic, and the hard-to-find bevies of yesteryear. This is a true five, um... stars kind of place!
T. M.
Step back in time and enter Palmer & Co. This 1920's styled speak easy has been executed with immense style and finesse. The decor, staff and building design are excellent and the cocktails, even better. Each option on the menu has a story that adds to the theatrical experience. Wonderful place.
H. L.
Nice 1920's speakeasy style bar. Antique decor and classic music added to the overall positive vibe. Bar was quiet loud, but that could of been due to the busy nature of the bar. Service was satisfactory and the drinks were tasty!
C. W.
Try their classics:
Charlie Chaplin and Last Word cocktails.
H. F.
Great 1920s decor. The cocktails are also good. This place gets very noisy when it gets busy because of all the hard services. Because everyone orders cocktails and they take so long to make, it can be a long wait at the bar.
N. G.
I'm a fan of bars that have great drinks and good food options. The ambience at Palmer is gorgeous, the food options (particularly for vegetarians) are not as good as they could be. Tick for cocktails, style and funk, but if you're planning to settle in for an evening and have a good feed I wouldn't recommend Palmer.
G. A.
Fantastic atmosphere, quality drinks and friendly service. This place will make you feel guilty as if you are drinking secretly in an underground bar of the prohibition era.
A. C.
Good place, fun live music. You would take your date in there. It used to be a wool storage!
B.
Absolutely fantastic service, very friendly staff, get to know them and you’ll find they can be incredibly generous and will certainly surprise you with their attention to service and outgoing approach. Highly recommend
M. D.
Drinks were interesting and pretty good but the bar was annoyingly crowded and didn't have a good flow. We went Saturday evening 4:30-6pm. We were at a table and the menus say there is a 10% table service charge which I was fine with since the queues for the bar were so long, but no one came around. Spent so much time in bar queues and then being ignored by the bartenders that it wasn't a super enjoyable experience.
S. P.
Love this place, one of my favorite hidden bars in Sydney. Amazingggg 1920s vibe, table service (a bit slow so i always order 1 drink ahead) and the staff dance randomly around the bar and throughout the night which is awesome.
C. M.
Loved Palmer & Co! It was like a New York underground bar with 1950's vintage styling. The cocktails are amazing (but seriously not for the faint hearted) and the food was super yummy and perhaps for people that prefer to graze with friends. However it can get really busy and be hard to move but once you have a spot, relax and enjoy atmosphere and funky music.
J. L.
Cool little underground bar. A good night will definitely cost you a minimum $200, but its the theatrics at the bar with their specialty cocktails backed with the industrial and carefully decorated fitting. There's a wild selection of mixes, with a relaxed crowd that comes here, it does get a bit packed and you'll spend about 15mins in line per drink run - but it's all worth it in the end.
A. c.
I love the place, simply amazing! Very original atmosphere and perfectly done! The only thing is that their cocktails are just disgusting! And I've tried around 10 of them... I guess it would be safer to go for wine there...
C. L.
Bar with a charming old school feel with a 1920s-30s style of decor (industrial, vaulted ceilings, exposed brick walls, bit Deco, boxing memorabilia). The space is actually quite a decent size but the low lighting and small floor tiles along with the wooden furniture and metal accents keeps the atmosphere cosy and intimate even if you're the only people there.
E. N.
Great place with vibrant atmosphere, delicious cocktails and beautiful people.
Have been there for the first time and looking forward to come back again.
Service is amazing, live music etc.
Tried following cocktails - Aviator, Lion's Tail and then some other that I don't remember.
Highly recommended!
M. U.
Drinks are great and its a funky speak-easy bar but, table Service is a little slow. They also forgot to put in our food order. They then tried to charge us for the food at the end which we never received.
G. B.
Brilliant bar, awesome vibe. Cocktails are worth the wait and the food is great too! Go on a Wednesday night when they have bands on with swing dancing! A must see! 👍🏼😁
L. C.
AWESOME! One of the best things I’ve done in Sydney this trip. The atmosphere it's an experience by itself. Drinks and staff are amazing. You should go visit. I will definitely come back.
J. P.
This is a must stop for any Sydney cocktail enthusiast. Everytime someone new comes to town I bring them to Palmer and Co.
The entrance through the alleyway is non-descript, unless it's a Friday or Saturday night and a queue has formed.
Down the stairs transforms Sydney from a bustling modern city into a retro speakeasy with flashy 30s apparel. The staff is dressed to the nines and looking dapper as ever.
The room feels like a low-lit cavern and it immediately feels cozy and inviting. Quite the intimate place. The atmosphere is electric and the primary draw of the place.
The only draw back is how busy it is on the weekend. You'll be fighting a crowd for sure. If you're looking for a quiet escape I suggest coming during the week for a quick cocktail.
Great for smallish groups and great cocktails. I highly recommend anyone stop here if they have an evening in the CBD.
R. J.
Love this place and love the cocktails, vibe and drinks especially Carmen the hostess who is amazing. Only request: Bring back the original Mac n Cheese with the Croutons and bacon as I can't have truffle :(
C. L.
Funky bar with a throwback to the prohibition era. Wide selection of drinks and a decent place to bring a group... but only if you arrive early! Try and get one of the booths if you can. It's a fairly large establishment but gets packed quickly - and rightly so, it's a great place to go on a Friday night.
J. P.
Miss Pia and Steve and the band played a nice mix, for us dancers, tonight. The place was slightly over crowded though. Darn those fabulous musicians!
F. K.
I love the atmosphere, especially with the live jazz band they had on that night. It feels very old-timey, and has some solid ginger beer based drinks. Really friendly bartenders that are willing to whip something up to a vague description ("Something sweet and light, but not fruity"). A bit pricey for a university student, but pretty standard for Sydney.
S. F.
Very fun prohibition atmosphere. The drinks were good and very fancy, but pretty pricey.
W. N.
Great jazz bar located at the back of the Abercombie lane. It is the ambience and live jazz music that keep attracting the like-minded visiting this place for drinks. But this place does get packed especially during Friday and Saturday. Hence the queue could be a while (up to 30mins or so). The drinks are around $15 to 20 but plenty of selections of wine and cocktail. Most of the people dress in smart casual to outfits for night out.
Ideal for casual or after work hour drinks.
A. D.
Really good cocktail bar for an deserted Sidney Sunday night
B. v. B.
Speakeasy theme with occasional live music, cocktail variety, and food are all positives. Negatives are bar can get too busy resulting in long wait times for any order, and recently atmosphere has become a bit same same and relies on large numbers which have started to tail off.
M. W.
I really expected to hate this place. It's painfully stylish, the servers are dressed in flapper headbands and strings of pearl, even the DJ is spin records with her equipment hidden inside wood... and then I asked for a recommendation between the sherry cobbler and their special offering, a barrel aged Toronto. "The Toronto!" Served up in a coupe with a disc of frozen coffee floating in it for added flare. I didn't expect rye, fernet and bitters to come out smokey but it was aged in a scotch barrel. So many interesting flavors. A server in a vintage cocktail dress asked me if I liked it and I gushed appropriately. "It hasn't been popular, the ingredients are a bit scary for people." Send it over to San Francisco... we'll take care of it for you! I expected all style and no substance but Palmer & Co exceeded my expectations.
S. B.
Great little niche 1920s Speak-themed bar tucked away behind The Establishment. They have a wide selection of cocktails, a few interesting whiskeys, as well as some snacks/nibbles. Live jazz on a Thursday night definitely helped set thhe atmosphere, as did the lovely wait staff rocking out some fine dresses and tiaras ;-)
Only downside is it gets pretty packed, but then what good bar doesn't get busy in Sydney at the end of the week!
C. L.
Great little bar hidden down abercrombie lane! Came here on a rainy Tuesday night and to my surprise it was quite packed! Loved the theme of the bar and there was some live music. Drinks are reasonably priced for sydney and their cheese platter is great!
B. M.
Great small bar that reminds me of some of my favourite Melbourne bars. Get in early on a Friday afternoon to avoid the crowds. It's a bit loud, so probably not the best option for your first date, but a great spot to chat with friends.
M. Z.
A go to venue for well made cocktails with a 1920's feel. Try a Negroni or Wet Martini to kick off the evening. On some nights live jazz trios play. Well worth a look. It can get busy later in the week.
S. G.
What amazing place for cocktails!! Order classics even if not in the menu and you'll get it .. same concept as speakeasy.. prohibition bars!! Best bar so far that I have visited in Sydney!!
J. C.
Amazing cocktails, great atmosphere. Very busy, especially after work on a Friday so not the place if you are looking for a quiet drink but definitely worth a visit.
N. R.
Earthy, quirky vibes, good drinks good service, music was not the best but was above average. Would highly recommend it for a date night or drinks with friends.
R. C.
Great cocktails and a good atmosphere. Great place to go for after work drinks. It can be quite hard to find at first as it's down a small side street, but it's worth it,
E. S.
I like this place, one of the few Sydney bars that has a lovely chilled atmosphere and is open until a decent hour. Good drinks and bar food. What more could you want for an evening in the City?
V. F.
This place could be really nice with the decoration and live-music that they have some days but it is so loud that you go out after one hour with an headache. If you want to try an original cocktail, you'll find heaps of them here... to bad I haven't found one I like until now (that's the risk while always doing originality...). Too bad, so much wasted potential !
T. K.
Amazing 1920’s style, food, drinks. Better than any speakeasy replica in the states. Great staff, cheese/meat/olive board, and drinks are excellent and custom made to order.
I. T.
One of the best bars in the city. Fantastic atmosphere, great food and wait staff are professional. Also, it's not overwhelmingly loud like most of the bars these days.
D. L.
Great vibes, old school cocktails (perhaps not to everyone's tastes though, my cousin was not a fan 😂), fantastic staff and great music! Thank you!
D. B.
Went on a Sunday evening with my partner around 8pm and it was nice and quiet. It can get busy later on on a Sunday night. The cheese plate was really delicious and good to share with someone else. The waitress we had was amazing. She was …
A. H.
A favourite place. Great gin. Funky vibe
S. S.
Great spot 100% of the time. Very noisy when busy but fabulous environment, great cocktails, and good food.
D. D.
We stumbled across this place by chance after a few other pubs. This place is tucked down an alley and hidden underground. it's a time warp to the era 1920s-style clandestine bar serves up an extensive menu of spirits and specially crafted …
I. M.
I have a reserved area for 10 people and the waitress by mistake put some people in our table while we were at the bar. Anyway we talk to the manager and he really looked after us all night. They really care about their customers. We felt …
Y. S.
Great basement bar with live DJ and music. Some of the best cocktails in Sydney. Whiskey Sours are comparable against some of the best in the world
M. K.
A jumping secret spot in the middle of the city. I've never been and had a quiet night here. Recommended if you like dressing up and savouring that fifties-style music and great cocktails.
T. B.
Very cool bar that we stopped in for a drink. Beautiful interior, delicious drinks and superb staff. Highly recommend.
R. C.
Great cocktails and a good atmosphere. Great place to go for after work drinks. It can be quite hard to find at first as it's down a small side street, but it's worth it,

Step back in time and enter Palmer & Co. This 1920's styled speak easy has been executed with immense style and finesse. The decor, staff and building design are excellent and the cocktails, even better. Each option on the menu has a story that adds to the theatrical experience. Wonderful place.
J. M.
Great Roaring 40's bar. Full prohibition style with exceptional Cocktails and snacks. Staff are friendly and service is quick on the more quiet nights.
H. M.
Great underground raw brick hidden bar. Pricey but good drinks - live music is great and staff are period dressed which makes it lively. Packed on a Saturday night!
T. W.
I simply love the 1920s theme at this Merivale venue. Walk down the stairs and you are transported back to an era where jazz music blossomed and the flapper redefined modern womanhood. The bar has an excellent selection of rums, whiskeys and tequila, make sure you check out the old glass display cabinets with rare whiskeys and rums. With a license to operate till 5am, this is one bar you can stop by and "have one for the road".
M. M.
The atmosphere in this bar is spot on for a blast in the past to the 20s and the prohibition era. From the music to the staff uniforms, you feel like going back in time. The cocktails are carefully concocted and delicious. This is an underground Sydney gem!
A. K.
I really like the atmosphere here as well as the quality of drinks, but damn, the food (and drinks) are expensive. I would go here for *a* drink, or maybe two, but not if I was at all hungry, just because I don't feel like dropping $60 for a cheese plate and a drink. Go for a drink and to enjoy the atmosphere, I wouldn't plan on staying over long though.
S. D.
Dropped by on a Monday night for a quiet drink and really enjoyed the vibe. Even on a Monday, the place had a few patrons, all very laid-back, with the decor perhaps being the centerpiece. I'm looking forward to heading back on a Friday or weekend.
R. P.
A must to visit. Classic "speakeasy" cocktail bar. Underground, brick walls, soft lights, live jazz and rock & roll music. And probably the best cocktails in the city.
M. D.
Welcome to the Great Gasby Party! Palmers & Co has everything you could wish from a bar. The cocktail list is original and trendy bringing back the Old Fashion and everything Gin! Don't worry if you aren't a huge fan of brandy, whisky or gin, they also mix some sweet-enough cocktails and a good selection of wine by the glass and bottle (Around 45$ for a bottle of Chandon Sparkling). My favorite, they do an AMAZING homemade ginger beer.
The decor brings you back in time as well as the bartenders and waitresses dressed accordingly. They also have live music some nights and a well-advanced in age woman DJ some other days! (She really was my favorite!)
It is possible and recommended to make booking for groups and they treat you like kings and queens when you do!
By far, my favorite bar in Sydney so far! Great atmosphere, good service, good cocktails, hidden and mysterious! WOW!
Y. S.
Great basement bar with live DJ and music. Some of the best cocktails in Sydney. Whiskey Sours are comparable against some of the best in the world
M. W.
Such a fun underground place that helps you imagine what 1930s looked liked. Great cocktails and atmosphere.
J. P.
Very cool underground bar.
A. “. D. G.
This establishment has copious amounts of character, great selection of beverages but can get a bit too busy at the weekend, which can lead to a longer than average wait time to get served.
J. P.
I went there with a girlfriend on a weekend night. We weren't too sure how to get there so Google map helped, and it was this interesting entrance that's almost like you're going down into a dungeon. The location is well-hidden, and atmosphere it almost like a hidden place during war times.
The only thing I didnt like about it was the lack of vegetarian options for food. But I guess you wouldn't go there for food- the drinks are amazing!
C. F.
Travel back to the 1920's in style! Palmer&co has it all : impressive decor, extravagant cocktail list, friendly bartenders - they even propose table service, something too often lacking in Sydney. Try the charcuterie plates and cheese boards if you're after delicious nibbles to share. The unique touch: Lady in Red cocktail served in small glass bottle wrapped in the cutest brown paper bag - all branded Palmer&co...
T. P.
Palmer and Co is one of those place that will become a Sydney institution, with great food, attentive service and delicious food served all night. All the staff here are dressed Prohibition style, as the bar is styled to be like a 1920s Speakeasy. The space itself has character with the rough brick walls and alcoves of the room. Definitely somewhere to take out of towners.
A. Z.
Nice place with good atmosphere good music and it works every day till 3 am
V. L.
Small bar and has a cool 50's feel.
Great cocktails that are too easy to drink..
Great little discovery down a little little lane way.. Awesome little find and one of my favourite little bars.
B. R.
Good atmosphere. Good vibe. Rude bartender - rolled his eyes when taking people's orders. Once I found table, waitress was awesome.
R. Y.
Difficult to find underground bar with the entrance in a side alley behind the Establishment.
Once inside you get the typical hidden basement with a hint of sophistication. I spent a good chunk of my night oggling the shelving around the table.
Stopped by on a Tuesday so no lines in sight.
K. B.
Fantastic Bar! Surprised me completely with it's atmosphere and Decor. Make a great Old Fashioned and have heard huge raves about the rest of their cocktail menu!
M.
Downstairs bar that gets very busy. Awfully loud, especially when there's also a musician playing. It took quite a while to get a cocktail here, but it was a Saturday night, so it's understandable.
A. E. (.
Loved the atmosphere here. Would be great for grabbing a few drinks with a group or a friend. Great design. Feels underground but classy.
M. D.
Very stylish bar. Great service, food and drinks. The noise however! Do not go there hoping to have a conversation with someone...
S. M.
Fantastic bar hidden in Abercrombie Lane. It made me feel like I was back in the 20s. The cocktails are brilliantly made...they take pride in thier creations. Small bar but it has an inyimate feel. Definitely a bar I'll be revisiting.
D. O.
Great place for a drink, but stinging you for an unannounced surcharge for no apparent reason is poor form. Their hefty prices already cover what they offer. It's a great place with friendly staff and great drinks though.
M. H.
Has a nice interior but is usually quite crowded and noisy.
Don't try the coffee-style cocktail. It tasted like diluted instant coffee dregs (I gave it two chances).
S. C.
Absolutely awesome place with an incredible atmosphere! Drinks are reasonable, and the food is limited choice but tasty. Always a great time at P&Co
D. L.
Fantastic transformation from Tank night club to trendy cocktail bar. Awesome 1920's feel, with live music, having a relaxed and wonderful vibe.
L. F.
Palmer's is one of my absolute favourite places to visit. The cocktails are amazing too!
M. H.
A piece of NYC in the heart of Sydney! Take a step back in time and experience this 'Roaring Twenties' designed eclectic bar where stylish staff create cocktails, and champagne, food, live music and spontaneous dancing, just flows! ❤
M. C.
Great space and wonderful service. The drinks are amazing and I would recommend the cocktails. Get in early as there is limited seating.
J. B.
Kia ora. Oh wow this a New York prohibition styled bar including a 3 piece in the corner. Sweetness the cocktails were brilliant, and nice and strong but with maintained flavour which is essential!
Nice down under the road bar with cool brick arched vault ceiling which added to the authenticity of that underground vibe :)
Check it out as you traverse Sydney's bar scene for that niche discovery feel... Just font be surprised that you're not the first lol
E. L.
Stylish spot, always recommend it to anyone who wants to have a drink in a great cocktail bar with immersive environment and cool music.
B.
Has the cool prohibition feel about it. Has tables and comfortable seating options. It's in a great location too. It's a great place to pre-drink before going to nearby clubs
D. F.
Palmer & Co continues the trend for themed small bars in Sydney, albeit you wouldn’t really call the bar small. It occupies the former VIP room at Tank Nightclub and you can enter from the back of Tank Stream Bar, or for the cool kids an entry via Abercrombie Lane is possible. The space is themed as a prohibition bar with the purported hidden entrance by way of a taxidermist festooned with mounted animals in cages who make guest appearances throughout this underground lair of alluring delights.
Bare brick walls, stripped of white paint and plastered with feux-advertisements of years gone by, are decorated with mugshots of celebrities, cast iron stylings and witty pictorial curiosities. Waiters and waitresses are dressed from the 1920s and 30s as are the jazz band who play brilliant covers transporting attendees into the nostalgic era of the alcohol ban in New Orleans and New York City with all the convenience of, well, alcohol.
The cocktail menu, rather precociously described as “The Bible" by one of the waitresses, is extensive and unique covering the usual favourites as well as many originals with two new cocktails offered every day. The champagne and wine selection is well thought out and all your favourite beers are available by the bottle along with the very drinkable Sierra Nevada pale ale, which is delicious but pricey at almost $10 a bottle. The cocktails represent the best value averaging out at about $16.
It’s a sit down affair at Palmer & Co where getting a tab for the table is the order of the day though you do have the option of ordering from the bar. The large space is divided into smaller segments which adds further intimacy amongst the amber glow and loud murmur of conversation. The charcuterie board looked amazing and has been added to my “to do" list. It’s a perfect venue for the start or end of a date or with a small group of people for a cocktail night.
Palmer & Co is not really your after work establishment, at least not in the area where it is located, but it will no doubt encourage further small bars to set up nearby which are seriously lacking amongst the male suit dominated drinking holes in the vicinity. Combined with the Bridge Street Cafe Sopra, you now have a viable night out at this end of town without succumbing to the heinousness of "Stabbies" and the like. This one’s a keeper.
B. H.
Amazing athmospehere, great service, delicious cocktails! Steven made us some unbelieveable bespoke cocktails, excellent sense of taste, very delicate flavours. Great job, thanks a lot Steven. 😘
M. R.
Great atmosphere and an excellent range of drinks. It gets really busy and can be difficult to find a table.
M. M. G.
Palmer and Co takes you right back to the 1920's. The waiters, the food, style of drinks and bar tenders all add to the prohibiton times, making you feel like your right in the time of the speakeasy. Have a dance, grab some food, and drink some top market cocktails, and you for sure will feel like an entertainer back in the 1920's.
C. W.
New York prohibition meets Sydney casual, Palmer & Co is a very welcome addition to the Sydney CBD. Always busy, this is a solid choice for those wanting something different to the usual city centre pubs. Cocktails are pricy, but the atmosphere makes it worthwhile.
M. M.
Groovy underground bar with a 1900s theme. Good vibes and expensive drinks.
s. d.
You really feel transported back to prohibition era 1920s as soon as you walk down the stairs and enter the underground bar. Amazing atmosphere with great low lighting and awesome music playing.
S. S.
Excellent bar with live music. Do visit when in Sydney
V. D. L. C.
This is the perfect place for a date if you are more than 30 years old. The look of this bar is very specific. A little bit expensive but they have very good cocktail
b. w.
Merivale does faux small bar but its not bad. They created this basementy space and it looks quite appealing with the fake brick and fake vaulted ceiling (like a prohibition cellar) - but the crowd is very much business + suits. The coaster with the flip around unhappy/happy man is cute. Waitresses are costumed and you can get chacuterie plates, mac cheese and cocktails. Expect Merivale pricing on these things. I don't mind it. Its nice. And the cocktails/drinks are good.
Y. M.
Great bar with brilliant cocktails. Especially enjoy going on Saturday nights when there's a blues jazz live band playing!
S. S.
Great spot 100% of the time. Very noisy when busy but fabulous environment, great cocktails, and good food.
J. H.
Another great hidden basement bar by the Merivale group. The bar staff provided great service and the cocktails were tasty and not lacking in alcohol!
C. C.
Poor selection of beer. Great ambiance - people dress up with costumes. Great for a night out with friends. Short wait.
C. B.
What a great hidden spot for a drink!
D.
Great little hidden speakeasy. The atmosphere is very relaxed; enjoy a cocktail and take in the decor.
T. B.
Very cool bar that we stopped in for a drink. Beautiful interior, delicious drinks and superb staff. Highly recommend.
J.
Great underground bar with good ambience. The cocktails are good. The staff is very friendly.
Nice music, vintage theme
K. G.
Amazingly decorated but insanely busy. Prices are a bit hefty but I guess that goes hand in hand with an amazing CBD location like this. If you can, get there early or try and book ahead.
E. F.
Great vibe and fitting music. Loved it.
R. F.
Really cool spot. I didn't actually end up getting a drink or any food when I went, I mostly just wanted to check it out, but the bartenders really looked like they knew what they were doing and the food smelled amazing.
A. T.
Astounding attention to detail in the environment and staff's costumes you'll think you are actually in the 1920s. A little crowded and expensive but it deserves a visit if you want that something special and unique.
T. K.
Very impressive place. A must to go at night in Sydney
K. P.
This is one of my favourite hidden bars in Australia . Love the vibe and the whole jazz music. Different cocktails and the service is amazing
J. B.
Want to add some class to your life? This is it. Merivale you absolutely nailed this one, could possibly be your best work ever. Walking in here makes you feel as if you've just teleported back to the 1920's super fun, swing dancing, social crowd too which is surprising being so close to the douche bag district of Sydney.
M.
Great service and fun vibe. A bit underground so cooler on a hot day. Solid drinks, personally go for a bullet rye old fashion.
H. R.
Great ambience with attentive service, despite being packed. The home-made ginger beer is the best I've ever had. Get in early or reserve a table.
Y. G.
1920 US style. Very immersive. Great staf. Great music. Very very good coktail and barman. Sazerac and vieux carré are sooo good i don't even know the others. It's a must try. A bit expensive but time travels are not cheap.
D. K.
Find yourself back in the Roaring Twenties at this fascinating underground speakeasy with everything from the menu to the staff attire having been appropriated from the bygone era of the Prohibition in the US. This places loses one star as the bartender lost interest in making our drinks to talk with a regular - not acceptable!
J. S.
Such a pleasant experience at Palmer & Co. Great vibe and atmosphere, also a great variety of drinks. If you're looking for a place to go I definitely suggest Palmer & Co!
A. M.
Friday night could be too crowded, but worth to visit for the ambience
N. E. T.
Great service and friendly doormen. Bartender's know there drinks. Lines can go a little bit faster especially on sunday
E. F.
Such a cosy little bar loved it
S. F.
Very nice bar, crowded in evenings and most of the time busy. Perfect for evening drinks. Starters are very good as well
C. M.
A must to go club with amazing 1920 atmosphere and live music. Plenty of rich good-looking women drinking wine.
E. k.
Great prohibition style bar tucked down an alley. Cocktails were great and people went out of their way to give good service.
L. W.
Such a good spot , with a great atmosphere. Gets really busy though and you always have to wait a long time for a drink.
L. H. B.
All time favourite bar - cocktails are delicious, staff are the best people ever and atmosphere always makes for a fun night
F. F.
A hidden gem with a wide range of cocktails and very knowledgeable staff - certainly worth visiting if you like quirky, atmospheric bars.
S. R.
Cool vibe, awesome music and perfect drinks. The staff are the cherry on this perfect cocktail.
A. O.
One of the jewels in Merivale's crown. I've always been well looked after by the staff both at the bar and throughout the venue.
J. E.
Good date place, service staff are very attentive and always walking around checking if anyone needs a drink or anything else
O. B.
Eduardo is by far the best bartender I've ever known, awesome service!! Beautiful drinks ! Perfect place !
X.
Cool, but extremely crowded and noisy. Staff were pleasant. Hard to get a seat or table so get there early on a Friday.
B. W.
Lovely prohibition style bar, great for a drink and/or a quick bite to eat. Can get very crowded due to it’s popularity.
A. M.
OMG OMG OMG This gem feels like time travel with surreal ambiance, exposed bricks, candle lights, swing dance, music selections from the past century, forgotten cocktails as they claim, choice of light meals and cheese platters, beautifully dressed highly attentive staff and more to have you transported into another era.
B. G.
Pretty cool under ground bar, can get really busy which does not leave much room to stand but that is the only down side, I go there quite often and really like the atmosphere.
R. M.
Trendy underground cocktail bar with a prohibition era theme. Grab a navy strength dry martini and soak up the atmosphere!
A. M.
An underground prohibition themed bar with a wide selection of drinks and light snacks. Great spot for after work drinks, although can get very crowded on Fri/Sat nights with long queues forming.
J. W.
20's themed prohibition bar is you are after something completely different and swanky, then this is the place for you.
Great cocktails, friendly staff and trendy tunes
