This place is just perfect! The menu is perfect, drinks perfect, the venue itself is perfect. Pets welcomed and everybody else is welcome too! Smoking area, non smocking area, old fashioned pub on the ground, huge terrace at the back, first floor with a je ne sais quoi style with a pool table and a long length balcony. It’s perfect for any type of party or corporate event. I love to come there and relax with friends.

There is so much to love about this place. Large, mostly sheltered, outdoor space with laid back vibe. A separate Batch brewery 'R&D' area with great beers on tap. Unfortunately the food we had was a big let down. Our group was one of the first to arrive and the place was mostly empty. We waited about 30 mins to get our pizzas, and unfortunately they were very bland. Would still be happy to come back for a few drinks, but probably won't try the food again.

MISSY THE CAT RETURNS! Upside: best (and best value) pizzas that we've had for quite some time. Plus a good range of bevvies, and pleasant helpful staff. Beer garden and balcony both good for a session. Downside: if you're out back and under the speakers it can be painfully loud, especially when it's also family time (weekend afternoons). Of course, you have it in your power to find a quieter corner . . . anyway, now you know. Grear pub and great vibes! Pizzas are good but bolognese was the worst one that we ever had! Not sure what happened there in the kitchen with this dish (white with no tomatoes and smelly beef!). Everything else was good.

Is meant to be wheel chair accessible with disability parking. That is no longer the case with the brewery behind the main hotel. Also toilets are not wheelchair friendly.

A gem in innerwest! So much character and vibe to this place. Love the open area where the pizza kitchen is. Had mushroom pizza cause my friend is vegetarian. I will give five stars because I love this place and is always a good time. But the food service needs some work. Ordered a few things and the first thing to come was a pizza, it was delicious as always but was just tossed therr with no napkins no chance to request some condiments just a pizza on the tin is baked. And the server left before I could ask for anything. The bruschetta was burnt and not great. Unlike usual bruschetta that has a nice fresh flavour. Was ok but again not great. Literally a small piece of bread with some burnt stuff on it. Ordered a delicious salad but way overpriced for the small portion. At 19 dollars for a tiny serving of rocket. Lesson learned, stick to the pizza to avoid being let down. Love u anyway but the service does need a lot of work with a touch of friendliness which lacked.. Thanks Cam for always being a star behind the bar he is always friendly and.welcoming. wish all the staff was like that!!!

Great Hipsville crowd pub with footy screen yahoo. Son is a hipster so for him he loves it for me a pub with something different is great,so I really like this place. Food is really good ,anything we have chosen has been very tasty every time. Lovely cold dark beer so you got me first time I went. Book a table if you want to be there after 3pm on weekends as it's busy and you will be struggling to get a seat . Anywhere that's good is always hard to get a walk up seat, don't be surprised though you might just jag the lucky last table. Will be going there many more times hopefully for as long as the hipster son keeps renting his house around the corner

Staffed by some of the loveliest people, this is a truly great local. Great food, a beautiful outdoor area and, best of all, Gizmo the cat to wander around in an aloof fashion. The ever changing beer range is reason enough to come back regularly.

Addit~17/11/21- I am really pleased that the Public house Petersham is back up and running- and as good as it has ever been. A while ago, I had an A1ordinary experience as a one off but I have since had pre and post lock down experiences that show me it was a bit of a one off (Bit ordinary this visit.. I hope that it was just a one off. Feels like it is run a little bit like a MacDonald's and less like the way a professional pub is run.) YAHOO! I am so glad, because this place is an institution and the staff have always been really professional and friendly. The food and grog(😊Good old Bulmers) and vibe-FANTASTIC! A1

Family friendly and dog friendly hotel, this venue is a great venue for a good meal with all your loved ones. This pub doesn't have any poker machines and had great organisation. The staff here is friendly and efficient, a pleasure to deal with. Recommended for a good day or night out with friends, family and or pets.

Frontline hospo staff are gold, unsure if the same can be said about solotel as a whole though! This is a great local pub with a good range of beer and food. The current COVID ordering system allows you to order from your table. The option to get beers from Small Batch Brewery, which is just out the back of the car park, expands the beer options by another ten choices!

The unassuming semi-indoor beer garden with its long tables and rustic look is a great place to hang out and drink their craft beers. The presentation and food was fantastic and the service was on point. The finished plates were taken back quickly. I would say it's more on the expensive side, but still worth it. Came here for a friend's farewell, place is dog friendly!!! I like that they split the downstairs smoking area at the back where no food is allowed to be consumed. Lots of tables but you need to get there quick if you have a large group unless you make a booking to reserve spot. Pizza's are decent sizing, can spilt between 2 people if you arent super hungry. Totally could have another right now! Yum.

Nice little venue. Limited on-site parking. Some staff are super friendly and helpful, some are less so and seem a bit like your requests are bothering them. The beer garden is lovely at night, they have a live DJ and fairy lights set up which create a great ambience. We got a few pizzas, an antipasto board, some popcorn chicken, and Nutella pizzas - they were okay, no stand outs. They have board games and card games available to take back to you table and play if you request at the bar which is a really cool concept! Only complaint from my group was that they didn't have tooheys on tap (which I don't think is a bad thing! 😂)

Nice (dog friendly!) courtyard that's set up brilliantly to cater for large groups in all seasons of weather. We went for Mother's Day lunch and they were pretty full but it didn't feel over crowded, which was nice The food is ok - not bad but not amazing either, and it could be a little slow to bring out anything other than the pizza. Few things that would have us reconsider coming back sooner - they had no Canadian Club behind the bar, no coffee option, and one of the party was given tude when he asked for a straw for the little one (don't get me wrong, I love that they are making a stand on no plastic straws, but as a family friendly pub not having any straws seems like an oversight - other venues are moving to stainless steel to cater for these circumstances). I would probably come back again to chill in the courtyard, but wouldn't do another family thing there.

Went today for the first time to this pub to enter into the handball comp which was free entry. They also were giving away free bottles of water. The $7 pizza was fresh and tasty. I saw a few arcade games in the pub area. The atmosphere was very nice, happy and relaxed and also dog friendly. I will definately be coming back here, aswell as recommending to friends. This is also the first time I've ever bothered writing a review for anything and I'm 37. Definately one of the best pubs I've been to.

Great local pub with a great vibe. Has had a renovation in the previous few months as it used to be called the Newington Inn. There is a new menu now and the food is fantastic. The flank steak is probably the best steak I've had in my life! Meals come in generous servings with generous sides too. Good value for money. Good pub to take the kids. There is even a pub cat called Gizmo that hangs around!

The food was amazing!. I had the lamb shanks and was certainly not sharing it with anyone because it was great. My partner had the jerk chicken which was equally as good. My brother had the sirloin steak which was huge and cooked to perfection. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality, taste and portion size of everything.

The Newington on Stanmore Rd in Petersham is an unassuming pub that’s been there for ages, but it’s recently been taken over by new owners and had a great, but simple makeover worth checking out. Don’t be fooled by the simple, grey exterior, or even the ‘traditional’ pub interior (patterned carpets in a rabbit warren of rooms), the beer garden is where it’s at. Big enough to not feel cramped, but small enough to feel intimate, the brick-paved courtyard has been decked out with simple timber tables, and furniture with an industrial twist. There’s big potted plants, plants hanging from the ceiling and a little veggie patch for some greenery, and it’s mostly covered so the weather is no issue. This is definitely a family-friendly pub, but with a kids play area at one end of the beer garden, and a good kids’ menu, they’re kept well occupied. The food is delicious, typical pub-fare but with an American twist – think cheeseburgers (amazing!!), fried chicken and paprika fries. The drink selection is great too – there’s a bar facing straight onto the beer garden, and it has a great selection of wines and local craft beers, with friendly attentive staff to match. This is definitely a new go-to for my partner for when we feel like a casual, no-fuss Friday night pub dinner with a chilled out, but trendy vibe

With Batch now opening out the back, the Public House is well worth a visit if you haven't been for a while. Food from the pub can be taken to Batch and beer from Batch can be taken into the pub. The old car park is now a shared courtyard.

Ok, let's get straight to the point. First impression as I walked under the curved laserlight roofing in the beer garden was a cheap reno and very hot. Nowhere for the heat to escape. Bar staff friendly and attentive. Nibbles Platter with pork terrine, cheese, etc. with accompanying lettuce and curry flavored pickles? One would expect bread or even crackers with this but only stale homemade bread sticks were on the plate. We asked for a plain pizza as there was no bread, the waiter was more than pleased to organize. My ‘Feeling Hot Hot Hot’ *very hot* made with nduja salami, zucchini pizza was just that and tasty. The pizzas were made by a young man from Calabria in a wood fired oven. I watched the way he made them with such passion, craftsman like and had a chat about this Nuduja salami from his homeland after my meal. Needs a bit of tweaking.
