A. S.The staff were polite and respectful. I want to give a special mention to Amy who took really good care of my friend when she was heavily intoxicated.
Despite her heavily intoxicated state, my friend was treated with dignity and respect and was guided properly. This is the kind of quality service we need at night clubs. The staff genuinely want you to enjoy your night and be safe. The bar had really popular and catchy music on all night - great dj! Overall, great staff and a wonderful place to go clubbing. Would recommend to anyone coming to Sydney, way better than the argyle.

Y. M.Came here for Tacos Tuesday as our usual place was a bit packed. So surprised for its quality. It's cheap ($3) and good sized. Ordered their American friends too and it was pretty good. During happy hour the drinks are pretty cheap ($5 for a pint of cider) but even when it's not during happy hour their cocktail and wine prices aren't bad at all especially as it's located in the CBD. Will definitely go back some time. The interior design ain't so much my thing but it's pretty chilled and relaxed inside but recommend people coming here after work

Not many "American" restaurants in Sydney come in "American" sizes but this place does! Will be back for sure :-)

G. G.The design of the place was very nice. The prices for alcoholic drinks were quite reasonable. However by the time we arrived the cocktails were not being served anymore. Definitely, the audience is more girls than guys. It's a popular place for posh young Asian folks. The music was hip&hop RnB style only, not much recent pop music.
M. K.Ground floor layout makes waiting at the bar or passing bar difficult and its the best space to be where you can hear the music properly. Top floor is small and basement space there is no air/little ventilation and you can hear talking over the music. Got there just before 9pm and there was a massive line. Also music drops in and out between rnb classics and random top 40 songs. Was a fun night but personally wouldn't go again

The place has 3 levels, the top overlooks the ground floor. Ground floor has the main bar in the centre of the floor. Bottom floor has another bar and dj booth. All floors have dance space, booths and tables.

Such a spacious venue, great bar tenders, amazing atmosphere and quick entry lines! I left my sandals at the venue and Chady offered to send it back to me for free which is such amazing service! Great staff, very friendly and was able to have a laugh with everyone!
Booking it was made so easy, dealing with Amie she was on the ball with any help I needed and made the process of organising a 30th just how it should be!
My partner and friends had surprised me by decorating the room with balloons, pictures and a cake so even not dealing with me they was more than happy to help and give the guys access before I arrived.

K. S.I reserved a space here for my birthday last weekend. Overall I had a really good night but there was a lot I was unhappy with. 1. We never received the bottle of champagne that came with the package. When I asked a waiter that was walking around he just walked away while we were talking to him. 2. We were asked to vacate the table halfway through the night as they had another booking? We only had our table from 8pm and was not told there was a time limit on the space. 3. The blonde girl who was at the door was not checking the guest list correctly and trying to scam some of my friends into paying full price even though they were on the guest list. The security guard even agreed with my friends that she is very rude. 4. The drinks we were purchasing were $10 each however we only bought about 5-6 drinks on the tab before they said it had run out. My partner even purchased a drink and then asked how much was left on the card and the bartender said $10. He then went to buy another drink at another bar and the bartender said there wasn’t anything left on the tab. I did have a really good night, but definitely got scammed and didn’t get what was promised which is disappointing.

I LOVE the RNB tunes & the food is amazing!! Highly recommend the macaroni cheesy fries or just the plain side of fries have the tastiest seasoning ever!! I want them now. I’ll 100% be back.

An upmarket look on the ground level makes the place great for an after work drink and dinner (try the wings). The hip hop inspired murals on the basement level combined with the great RnB music on the weekend makes the Carter a great place to go on a night out. Definitely worth a visit!

Steak was solid and well prepared, and the raw salmon was even very nice (I'm not typically a huge fan). The ambiance is nice, even if it was a bit loud for us to carry on a conversation on a Friday afternoon. Still, well worth a visit!

v. b.Cool vibe. Good music. Bouncers were friendly enough. However, ordered a cocktail, paid $21 and then it took them 50 minutes to bring it over. I ordered my drink on the 03/11 at 9:21PM in the downstairs section (while it was super quiet and not busy at all). We were given a number and told that they would bring the drink out to us. 45 minutes had passed, no drink in sight! We asked the bartender about it multiple times, and was just met with "it's on it's way". Super frustrating, because as it got busier we ended up having to wait longer and longer just to chat to the bartender about the missing drink. I then approached a member of the wait staff who was clearing glasses and asked him if he could help us. He was really great, located the missing drink within a few minutes, and brought it to us. Waiting for a drink for almost an hour was a total buzzkill though! Spent a quarter of my night sitting at a booth, waiting for this drink to appear instead of having a good time! I would've totally spent a lot more money if it had come after 15 minutes rather than 50. Couldn't even get up to dance during the wait time because I was worried I would miss the drink. Ended the night sober and sad :(
D. S.I had my 30th at the Carter. All I can say was my experience was fantastic. I had VIP table with bottle service. My friends and I were extremely happy. Especially Melissa who was our waiter. She was amazing. Thank u to the staff who looked after me and made my friends and I am amazing night. Will definitely be back.

J. R.I celebrated my birthday here and loved it! The main level is glam like Beyonce, the downstairs basement is street style Jayz. The food was delicious and is a southern African American cuisine. The staff made every effort to ensure I had a great night, even scored a free bottle of champagne that I was drinking from the bottle by the end of the night. I highly recommend this place.

They weren't admitting anyone do to an "incident", so I went to the front of the line to see what was happening. There were heaps of cops and a someone bleeding. The lady said the wait would be a while so we left just as a fight spilled onto the street. Music was banging though and dance floor packed. Will definitely return. 5 stars.

The food is well made and, from what I had anyway, they are pretty creative with flavours.
Presentation of food could definitely use some work, felt like it was just chucked on the plate and didn't reflect the love that went into making it.
Staff member that I dealt with was a bit dismissive and visibly in a bad mood which was a bit disappointing.
Prices are high but not abnormally so for the area and if you get a special you'll get a pretty good deal.
The Carter is new so I think they'll work out some of the issues and turn into a great spot in the near future 👌

Convenient location too just a short walk from Wynyard Station. Would recommend and do go there all the time. The food is definitely underrated.

I celebrated my farewell with about 40 people in total and we purchased the standard package
I arrived an hour later of the time I had given them and they had no worries at all and greeted me and all my guests and the gorgeous door girl informed me my 3 tables were ready and to let her know when I wanted my complimentary champagne whilst she handed me my bar tab
2 of the 3 tables were taken and the security cleared it off for me no worries and continued to do so throughout the night and if I needed anything they were always there!
The bartender was amazing and would clear our tables and bring our drinks to us and the door girl came down just to bring me my champagne! Everything was a breeze and the staff were so helpful! It was the best send off for me to have as I am leaving the country!
Money well spent! Thank you so much The Carter I will be returning when I come back to Australia!
l. t.This year we (Black Elk Espresso Café) celebrated our staff Christmas party at The Carter Sydney, as to, were other work functions happening there also. We had three tables booked for a sit down meal, along with a private scallop shaped booth and a personal barperson, who, kindly freshened our beverages throughout our evening there. The Hostess, as was her entire staff, were most obliging, kind and considerate, even when our festive feel, had elevated a notch or two. A fun night out, enjoyed by all !!!

V. M.This sweet rnb club is tucked away in the wynyard backstreets but still pretty easy to find. There are two floors with separate DJs and bars so you're bound to find something you like.
Only concern is that it can get crowded very easily and you can't check in your bag/coats anywhere.

The menu follows the RnB theme as promised. All cocktails are excellent. But the best was the food. The tacos, The Carter chicken wings, Notorious BIG chips and the Obama Chicken plate was mouth watering, finger licking fantastic! Especially the corn! Yumm! But the best on the menu was the Big Boi Steak. Its huge so come hungry, its cooked to perfection. We will most definitely be back in a hurry, not only for the awesome food but also for the old school music that we love. They let you take a doggy bag for any left overs. We strongly suggest that you rename your uber eats bags to Snoop Doggy Bags.
