Comments of The Duck Inn Pub & Kitchen
M. O.
Amazing selection of great pub food and boutique beers on tap. The food and service was excellent!
B. R. A.
The pub is correct, if overpriced. We were there with a big group and they had a couple of waiters learning the ropes. The guy didn't seem to have much experience, so maybe he could have been nicer? The sausages with smash looked great, the gnocchi looked quite sad and small for the price and the chucked parmi was ok.
It was raining but the place would probably be lovely outside on a sunny day.
F.
One of the best places to have great beers and other drinks, nice indoors and outdoors areas. Excellent pub food, good service at decent prices. Love it! My favourite bar in the 'hood'. And have you ever seen a dog sitting at the bar like Norm in Cheers?

The Duck Inn Pub and Kitchen for us was a hidden gem. We were scouring google one rainy Friday night in search of a steak and also somewhere dog friendly and stumbled across this.
In the back streets of Chippendale, this place looks like your typical heritage pub and inside reminds us of an English one, compete with high benches and leather couches. There’s also outdoor section at the rear of the pub that can certainly host a crowd. It felt warm inside with its atmosphere and a good crowd of an older demographic. We also love that the pub is dog friendly, in fact a well behaved dog even sat on a couch. It would be great to be able to purchase doggie snacks.
Their seasonal menu has great food.
We had a nicely cooked steak with veggies as well as one of their poke salads. We did find the food was quite slow to come out, however.
As we saw other food passing by, we were impressed by some of the other options like their Prawn linguine, crispy pork and pan fried salmon and keen to try those.
It is a pub so it’s hardly surprising that there is a great selection of craft beers and beers on tap including tasting paddles which makes for a great way to try a range of varieties. Plenty of wine one and spirits too.
Overall, we enjoyed our experience here.

Pub food was better than expected. Friendly and accommodating staff. Most importantly a decent selection of beers from independent Australian breweries. Kids enjoyed their meals. 👍👨🍳 Great Sunday roast!

Awesome place for dinner especially after a performance at the Seymour centre. Kitchen was open till 9pm on the Tuesday night we were there. Mushroom burger was very tasty and the steak was Cooked well. Fish and chips were crispy and filling. I loved th large selection of beers, I really enjoyed my beerfarm hazy IPA.
B. H.
Great little pub with some lovely craft beers. Had the prawn linguine which was gorgeous with a good amount of chilli to retain a warm mouth. Quenched that with another beer for good measure. :)
Mate had the ricotta gnocchi; it also looked good and he said it was super tasty.

Serendipity ! We had tickets for a show at the Seymour Centre and wanted some nosh beforehand. Warm vibes from all staff and a great wine selection - but the food was what made us come back for more, after the show. I had the most fantastic hummus entree with sourdough and spicy cauliflower. Hubby had the most excellent snapper. Hats off to the chef- the food was next level fabulous and we can’t wait to return when we have more time.

A wonderful beer garden. Our experience was not great. Quality of steak n lamb shank left much to be desired. Staff could not find salt n pepper. Images on the website are not anywhere a true representation. I hope the management takes note and improve. Very sad to give this feedback at this most trying time for a business of this kind.
J. L.
Not bad..... A few little tweaks and it could be 4 stars. Don't put peanuts near hummus in any way. Don't put yougurt near a lamb shank. There you have it. Everything thing else all good

What an absolute hidden gem in the back streets of Chippendale .
One of the cleanest boutique pubs I have had the pleasure of visiting .
My partner had a CIDER as that was happy hour special
I had a DARK AND STORMY(schooner) Absolutely SPOT ON
We decided too just have a side of hot chips and Aoli OUT STANDING the simple things done well .
We both cannot wait too go again and have decided on a SUNDAY ROAST !!
which is a dying meal in Alot of pubs .

Ive been on a quest to try all the sunday roasts that Sydney has to offer and so I found myself here enjoying what they had to offer. As the photos show the presentation was exceptional with the meat perfectly cooked and chewy and the spinach tossed with beautiful herbs and sauce. If there was one area of weakness it was the very ordinary Yorkshire pudding but the other accoutrements made this a great meal to chow down on. If your in the area stop by for a bite next Sunday
H. W.
Love the atmopshere of this place. Has a real summer beach house feel to it. The food arrived promptly after order. We tried a few of the various duck dishes. The presentation was great from every dish. The taste was very good too. I wouldn't say excellent, but very good. Was let it down was the textures of the food. For example, the crispy skin duck and trout were not crispy at all. They looked crispy when served however they weren't. The flavours and taste were all there though. Overall very good and worth a try atleast.
J. T.
Tried their new breakfast menu that they are rolling out. The "big quack" was not only big but it was tasty. The eggs were perfectly done. I have a big appetite and this was perfect.
c. b.
This place has a very well lit bistro and beer garden, with bright decor and cushioned seating, perfect for a lazy afternoon when the weather’s good. The food is fresh and well made.
r.
Reserved the outdoor area for staff Christmas party of 55 people and a few extras. There were plenty of umbrellas and seating on the hot afternoon. Iced water and buckets to keep wine chilled were constantly refilled. The staff were magnificent and nothing was too much of a problem to ask for. We each chose and paid in advance for 3 tappas and a glass of wine. They decorated the space and we personalised it. The food was amazing!!! See attached pics. Highly recommend this place. Tucked away from busy streets with lots of neighborhood charm and character. It is a $11 taxi or Uber ride from Central Station.
A. T.
We had a Wonderful meal here with friends.. service was great and so was the food. We all walked out Super full and it was around 50 bucks a head. Great selection of food and drinks. Meats are great and so are the veges.
E. H.
This place is really excellent, but just a bit pricey. Great beer selection (it's the beer that is pricey), and the food is top notch. Nice atmosphere too.
C. R.
This is the first time I've been to The Duck for food and not drinks at the bar. I must say it was very pleasantly surprising.
The art, the natural lighting and the food were all top notch.
G. B.
I like the Duck Inn, the staff are friendly and attentive and the beer is good. The mains we had today, the lasagna and the lamb shank, were generous and tasty. Unfortunately the expensive desert (a chocolate confection) looked and tasted like one of those deserts made in a factory somewhere. Very disappointed.
J.
Great selection of beers on tap. Dog friendly. Good beer garden but lots of mozzies. Food is pretty average
Y. M.
The pub isn’t bad. Food is alright. I had a falafel burger which was very cold when it was served so was quite disappointed by it. There is a good drinks menu and staffs seem pretty friendly
M. L.
Dog friendly (inside and out)! Nice pub food, good selection of beers. Friendly staff and comfy couches.
L. M.
Celebrated a joint 40th birthday with my best mate here. They booked us the entire beer garden out back with Marquee to withstand the rain. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and professional. We had to apologise to them for our loud singing as we were told it is a residential area. Good range of beers and food was good. A cozy pub that I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.
D. H.
Have been in Australia from the US for a week and this is hands down the best meal we’ve had since coming here. Sooooooo gooooood!!!!!
A. R.
There are no beers on tap that a regular punter would know, they are all small batch breweries so take a gamble. Unfortunately, the food used to be outstanding but it would appear new owners/chef have a lot to live up to.
S. I.
Had the most amazing time at this pub, everything from the food, decor and service was sublime.
I ordered the prawn linguine and my partner had the beef brisket, both dishes were very tasty and it was all reasonably priced.
The menu was nice and simple.
Will be back for more!
Q. M.
Genuine nice staff with craft beers in a wonderful location well decorated with a sunny backyard! Did I mention they take the pub food to a different level? Gastro-bistro!
P. T.
**time for a re-review! Hope to be back soon** Good atmosphere, tasty dishes, but it took ages for food to arrive. (Reading other reviews, this seems to be a trend.) Staff were apologetic and polite, but looked a bit stressed during our visit. While chips are a pub staple, chips at The Duck are sensational, and the lamb shoulder is tops, too. Sides, particularly the greens, are succulent but portions could be more generous. Avoid the seafood tacos completely, though - the fish was totally overpowered by an unidentifiable herb or garnish.
P. N.
I love the Duck Inn so much. The staff are so friendly, the food is amazing, the choice of beers is excellent! If you haven’t tried it, the duck tasting plate is HUGE and worth sharing between three or four people. The steaks are consistently awesome (and improving), and the brisket burger is tasty and filling. There’s always a range of good vegetarian options too, so there’s something for everybody. Selection of craft beers is on point, and changed up regularly enough that you can try something new.
H. S.
Only ok. the food was definitely below par. Roast was not a real roast, do not recommend- you’ll be disappointed if you’ve ever had a real roast before. Nice atmosphere and garden. Good for a drink and dog friendly.
S. C.
Went the there on Friday night with my husband and puppy. Heard great reviews so was very keen to visit. Parking was slightly off-putting at the start as street parking outside the pub is 1 hour only. Atmosphere inside was nice, lovely decor, quaint and peaceful. It was 7pm when we got there and after expecting loud Friday night patrons, it was very quiet which was great! Got a table pretty easily and great the place allowed dogs. We order a few drinks, starters and mains. We were only allowed in the bar and outside area given we had the pup but it was good to get and inside or outside option, it was just no table service. Good came out in good time but VERY disappointing was that they brought everything out at the same time! Given it was starters and mains, you'd expect not and if that was the case, then they should have advised us. Very annoying to gobble down the starter so the mains didn't get cold (which they did). Food was ok, given the great reviews, I don't agree with the hype. I had duck ragu with papparedell and my hubbie had bangers and mash. All very simple and lacked taste. We didn't stick around for more drinks as parking was running out and simply felt a little put off by the food. Nice place but it was ok. Would go again if I was a local but not go out of my way.
P. O.
Great inner city suburban pub with great values towards its guests. Always a good craft beer range, quality bar snacks and a sit down dining room serving elevated pub food. Staff are always friendly, consistent and always fuss our two hounds that are always made welcome.
K. A.
Went here because they were serving British beers during the Sydney beer festival. Good beers on tap - much more expensive than you would pay in the UK of course. We shared the lamb roast - really excellent; loved it. Went on a Tuesday evening, nice and quiet and service and quick and friendly. Would definitely go again.
M. D.
Best lamb roast you can get in the city.
I have come back to this place just to eat of the extensive menu. Good serving sizes and great food. so many options you have to come back. Good range of beers on tap and its dog friendly. Whats not to like. They regularly smoke meat out the back in the beer garden which is pretty sweet.
D. L.
Best place to go on a Sunday night with the whole family. Kids enjoyed the atmosphere big time and we liked the drinks. Food fantastic too. Highly recommending Sunday Roast!
J. D.
Delicious food and great staff. Not too noisy but with the right atmosphere. Just like I like it.
J. S.
Had run out of 4-5 dishes including the roast by 1830 when we arrived for our Sun night booking. Food was good, although barramundi a bit overcooked. Staff pleasant and relaxed but a bit inattentive.
H. B.
Absolutely stunning place to have dinner and drinks. The staff are super nice. We had the Lamb Shoulder & Roast Vegetables Shared Plate. It was huge definitely get if you with 4 ppl and some side dishes and it will be a great deal $$$ wise. They have indoor and outdoor seating... Oh hot day don't be shy open the louvres windows haha...
C. L.
Wonderful that the Duck Inn is donating $1 per beer sold to the Aussie fire relief efforts. Also great happy hour $5 beers 5-7pm Tuesday - Saturday.
$18 beef nachos was tasty but not enough cheese and overall not value for money. Uncheesy nachos is heartbreaking.
$20 chicken salad was also tasty but also didn't feel like value for money.
S. B.
A lovely little pub with a great courtyard. Dog and people friendly with great staff. Veggie options could be better (hint: falafel and gnocchi are old hat - and you get them virtually everywhere). It’s amazing to me that chefs don’t even think ‘oh, we do bangers & mash for meat-eaters, let’s do a veggie version too’. Vegetarianism is the future - get with it. If they could get that right they’d have the perfect pub
P. C.
A few years ago this pub changed hands and renovated and the result was amazing. A rejuvenated menu and wine list made it a great place to have an end of year lunch or a family celebration.
It is popular with the locals and the students and if i was in the area more often I would definitely be in this pub more often than not.
J. F.
The food is good and the decor very well thought out. We went for Sunday Roast and whilst it may have been nice, it wasn't a classic roast so we opted for something else.
It gets marked down for service. With one exception, the team seemed unenthusiastic and disinterested. When I first went to the bar I was completely ignored whilst one staff member played with his phone and yhe other 2 finished their conversation.
S. G.
The best thing about this pub is that i can bring my little pup to the bar with me!
This dog friendly pub even has a local cat that chills out at the bar like it owns the place and comes for cuddles as it pleases.
They have a good selection of beers and some tasty wines.
Food was also just as delicious, have had the fish and chips, calamari, sliders and aranchini balls all of which were good pub food.
M. W.
The way pub food should be. An excellent informal dining experience with top notch food. Don't be put off by the higher than average prices, this is not a deep fried schnitzel and chips. They serve sophisticated gastropub fare. 5 stars.
E. S.
This place has a great character. Each and every piece of the decoration is unique in it's own way and gives the place a very nice warm and cosy feeling. At the same time it is very stylish and charming. I love that the place is divided in little areas with only a couple of tables and lots of space between them and each of these areas has it's own charm. Although the food isn't something great, it's pretty decent and tasty for the price you pay. On the other hand all the staff are very friendly and welcoming. They always serve you with a big smile on their face and are also very child friendly.
z. g.
I work 10min walk from this place and my team and I only discovered it few weeks ago. We had our work Christmas party there :) We are definitely going back :) We tried different dishes and they all tasted great :) Also, great selection of beers :)
P. Y.
Stumbled across this place by chance and it’s definitely a hidden gem. The food is nice, service is top notch and the beers are unique. Strongly recommended.
T. M.
The hummus was one of the best we've had! Wish we had more time to try more beers and some more food.
E. M.
It's remiss of you not to try the duck prosciutto, which is made on site! Fantastic atmosphere, a real 'family' old-English style establishment with great staff and patrons. Staff are knowledgeable about the taste and quality of both the food and the alcohol - to be savoured not wasted!
J. J.
Food was pretty forgettable and very limited beers on tap. Its a shame coz the venue is really good with a large courtyard and good decor
C. D.
Strange decor but relaxed pub with above average food and lovely friendly service.
My favourite is the good old beef burger, served with string crisp fries and cooked to perfection. There are many special events on at the pub - posted in a handy position behind the toilet stall doors monthly. Like this place a lot.
F. T.
We returned to the Duck Inn tonight after a break of about 6 months, because in the past, the portion sizes had just been getting too small….
Well, we certainly all enjoyed our meals tonight! Simple fish & chips, also a lentil pie but fresh, beautifully prepared / presented and very tasty. Good, big (pub size) portions too!
The lime cheesecake for desert was as delightful in taste as in it's arty presentation. Thank you, we'll be back soon!
J. H.
Great atmosphere, very good selection of beers and wines. The food is exceptional, with a great choice of vegetarian dishes. They do a wonderful mushroom burger from time to time. Yum.
The staff are very attentive and friendly, too
The decor is very homely.
L. A.
Nice relaxed setting with an excellent outdoor area. Great selection of beer and excellent food.
H. N.
I only knew about this hidden spot as a friend used to work there. I would give the cosy set-up, reminding you of a sunny and warm living room 5 stars. Service is friendly enough, although not as welcoming on the rare occasions I visited without the friend who worked with them. Food and drinks are honestly a bit overpriced considering the quality and location. Most of their visitors are frequent customers. I would recommend for people who live in the area to visit for some quiet drinks and trivia. Nothing to go out of the way for though.
C.
Came here for dinner tonight and had a lengthy wait for our meals - however the response from the manager was quite impressive and even the chef came out personally to apologise. Food was delicious, although the beef cheek was a rather small portion. Would still happily come back.
M. H.
Amazing local pub, friendly staff and great backdoor garden
S. V.
In the midst of Sydney's gastropub revolution, The Duck Inn is the latest to get a lick of paint and some fancy craft beer. However, it's lost none of its charm as a local boozer hidden away in a quiet residential street. The service was perky and charming, making a couple of flubbed orders forgivable. Lots of beers to work through, a pint of Vale Ale IPA for $8.50 both tasty and reasonably priced. The burger started well with piping hot, perfect shoestring fries, but the main event was a disappointment - a cold, buttery bun sandwiching a bland and too-rare patty. Will be back for more beer, less so for the food.
B. J.
Great local place. Young (20 and 30 somethings), with a great attitude behind the bar. Food from the kitchen is just mesmerising.
We had my partner's 50th here. They supported us all the way. Sending info, menus, options and allowed us to decorate a section of the pub for this occasion.
This place, should the food continue to be this good, has a great future here.
L. L.
We were a booking of around 15 people on Saturday night. Other than one other table of 4, we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
It was crazy hot inside and we had to request that they turn on the a/c.
We were sitting in the main bar and ordered our food individually at the bar. Despite the lack of other customers, the kitchen seemed to really be struggling.
They had run out of the falafel. I ordered the brisket burger, as did one of our friends. Our friend got told they’d run out of this too and had to change his order. Nothing was said to me.
Everyone’s food started arriving but my burger still hadn’t arrived by the time everyone else was finishing their meals, so I asked after it and was told they’d run out and something had gone wrong and they hadn’t told me.
They gave me my money back and free bowl of fries. I was hungry and a little disappointed but whatever; mistakes happen.
Ten minutes later (about an hour after ordering) my burger - the one they’d didn’t have - arrived.
Of four orders of duck schnitzel, the last to come out had a salad that was basically just fennel; they’d obviously run out of salad ingredients too.
We had heard such good things about the food here and it was fairly decent when it finally arrived but they seriously need to sort out the organisation - both ordering and service - in the kitchen.
Bar staff were polite but also a little disorganised.
S. G.
very popular with the uni crowd, have a fairly average selection of beers and if you order anything with shells you should expect them to be cracked and through the whole dish. other meals are great, and assuming you dont get told to vacate your table by the pretty rude staff its a nice place to catch up
S. L.
I love The Duck Inn, our favorite spot for dinner and a beer before the theatre. We had the duck tasting plate (amazing) and the calamari (perfectly cooked), with a side of chips. Great selection of local craft and international beers on tap. (Book ahead at peak times)
B. C.
I really enjoyed an amazing perfectly cooked pasta and Sargent my mastiff was lucky enough to get kitchen scraps ! Amazing little hidden gem with cool relaxed staff and a great vibe.
M. K.
The Duck Inn replaced the Duck & Swan, a beloved local pub. To get away with this, it has to be pretty special. It's been maybe five years now and I don't think the Duck Inn cuts it. Firstly, the interior fit out they have is twee and inexcusable as a displacement of a traditional pub interior. The food is good-ish, but nothing to write home about and not really better than what was there before. Went in there today for their vaunted Sunday roast and it simply wasn't a Sunday roast. They tried it on with a tiny dry Yorkshire pudding that could have been cooked from frozen. No football on either, no locals in the bar. The one thing I'll give them credit for is being dog friendly.
S. D.
Lovely food, great location & friendly staff - restaurant / deck area can be REALLY noisy when busy. Once we'd finished dinner the staff didn't check in with us at all to see whether we needed drinks, the bill, etc until we approached them well over an hour later.
D. B.
Excellent chilled out neighborhood pub with a surprisingly good gastro pub offering. Everything on the menu is delightful and they have a nice variety of local craft beers. There's something for everyone here, can't go wrong.
b. w.
Only came here for drinks and it was 2 but I gotta say; this was a surprise. The Duck Inn is surprisingly modern and clean looking being a total surprise when you enter its theshold. And then you walk round the back and this really nice outdoor area with nice seats and bamboo. Totally surprising. Heard the food is great too.
D. J. R.
Good food but a bit pricey
J. H.
Gorgeous pub with a great range of beer and wine with great food to compliment it! I don’t come here often but when I do I’m always impressed. The fact that it’s somewhat hidden in a gorgeous building also makes me happy.
I. L.
Awesome little pub/ restaurant filled with delicious craft beers, amazingly priced food/ portion sizes (also the food is delectable), a fun décor, and a quirky, intellectual crowd. It's also around the corner from Sydney Uni - a great venue to visit before/ after a fascinating public lecture.
A. N.
The roast was awesome here! Really recommend it. Shame it did not have Yorkshire puddings on the menu though.
R. H.
Love this restaurant that is beautiful and spacious plus very cosy !
Enjoyed my calamari dish. Waitress was helpful and full of smiles
Will check out the seating at the garden next time.
S. G.
Picture this on a balmy summer day: a big 'terrace house' like exterior opening into a bar and lounge, stretching back into a bistro and open courtyard. Friendly staff and locals like hanging out here. It's family friendly too. Yes there is plenty of duck dishes. But even if you're just hanging around for a beer and good conversations, this place is trendy and cool, but without the excess crowds.
m. e.
Pickled onions on the bar, are a good tip to what you can expect.
The menu is interesting without being stuffy or overly hipster.
Great atmosphere. Lovely beer garden, which makes it kid friendly-ish.
C. W.
Fabulous environment that easily accommodates groups. It was mothers day and the service was still attentive and prompt. The food is fabulous with appropro portions. I'd happily return, particularly for a drink at the chic bar.
M. M.
Popped in on the Melbourne Cup afternoon for a few drinks and was very surprised at this spot. Apparently its recently been renovated and its great to see a pub not go down the same-same route as all the other renovated hotels. The decor is schmick, comfortable and pretty. Theres a cute beer garden with bench seating and umbrellas, a dining area with very nice bench window seats and the front bar thats comfortable and quirky.
The selection of beers, ciders, wines and spirits is impressive with hard-to-find or unusual brews on tap. The food is a little on the pricier side ($14 for a salad, $18 for a burger and fries up to $34 for a lamb dish) but it seems to change every day which is nice. Definitely going to come back for a few more drinks and even for the summer bbq sessions that are advertised around the pub.
M. W.
Food here is always very delicious. Great range of craft tap beers and nice selection pf wine. Great for a special occasion or regular dinner out.
C. A.
radical chic pub perfect for laid back people. lounge area with book and games, and very warm and cosy bar perfect for your nights after work. indie music, classic beers and friendly crew keep it busy at night. try olive marinate and other intense finger food solutions. if you pass through the lounge, a nice terrace will be perfect for a carton and a sandwich in the sunny days!
T. M.
Nice local neighbourhood bar. Food was good, big servings so didn't have room for a dessert and glad I didn't order a starter. Prices on par with other gastro pubs.
M. N.
LOOOOVE it! Best English Pub like in the area! Food delicious, great selection of beers, nice back yard! Yes bring on the summer
J. C.
Love the food, and friendly staff. Good local gastro pub with better than average pub food. Perfect for a party or group gathering.
O.
Fabulous food, service and a good idea for a large group of hungry Art Exhibition Opening goers. The bill was delightful as well for 10 to divide happily!
Recommended!
C. S.
Cracking beer garden for a Sunday afternoon drink. Amazing beer selection that rotates regularly, food is top notch. The duck loaded fries and the burgers are my personal favourites
H. M. M.
Food is very slow and very salty. Drinks get ordered and delivered late or never. Staff are very pushy but bar staff are nice
Z. M.
An almost gourmet experience considering the small portions and high prices, but the quality of the food and the atmosphere are worth it. They have special themed days and special offers that you can enjoy with friends and family. Very pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff, fresh deli food, overall - the whole package.
J. F.
Great selection of songs. Good technology. Reasonably priced. Friendly and speedy service. (The drink selection is something left to be desired though but typical of most karaoke joints around)
A. C.
Cosy place very close to Sydney Uni, with a nice garden in the backyard of the premises. Good place to have a drink with friends!
C. B.
It was a pretty doozy feed. However! The duck schnitty. A huge disappointment. Tomato sauce lathered all over it. Mac and cheese and peas? What? Seriously I enjoyed the experience. The other meals i do recommend. The meat that isn't duck is quite tender. uet the service was Abit ad hoc however. Give me abita banter please. Not a bad joint however. Peace ☮️
G. b.
Very good pub food...fish, lamb shank. Friendly service and convenient to Seymour centre. Recommended

This pub is one of the hidden gems in Chippendale. Off the main roads and into the small lanes, you will find Duck inn hidden away in a small corner. The decor of duck inn is almost like a comfortable but trendy lounge at home, complete with a small courtyard to soak up the sun while having a sip of their beers and other nibbles. For those who wanted to relax and have a drink with old friends, this is the place to be. BTW, there is also a restaurant inside the pub as well as a cocktail menu. So its not just boutique beer.
L. L.
Comfortable dining. The food is good but the menu rarely varies. Wine is a bit pricey but good drinking. It’s a good destination for non students.
K. S.
Good selection of craft here, including a hand pull (sometimes guest London brewery Fullers - though to me it seemed a bit sweeter than how I remember it back in the old country)
Food excellent
Small back garden too
A. M.
Great food, excellent selection of refreshers on offer. Service impeccable with cheery welcomes all the time.
N. V.
Very good pub! Nice central location, quality and delicious food with reasonable price. I tried some duck dishes for the first time in my life and really loved it!
J. T.
Great little pub. Warm, cosy - nice food and great staff.
M. R.
Fond memories from when it was known as the Duck and Swan. Still a great pub with a good selection of beers.

Close to Sydney uni and has a great range of food options, including a few very specific duck meals. Sitting outside in the courtyard is a really nice way to spend an afternoon, but there were no heaters so it can be a bit cold in winter.
T. C.
A decent selection of food in a nice quiet setting. Had the duck starter which was great and was the size of a main course. A few issues with service but was rectified professionally
T. S.
Fab vibe! Great food! Bonus you can bring your dog to the bar (stool) to keep you company. We will be back with our woof.
N. G.
One of my two locals for work. Nice decor and vibe, cool beer garden, good selection of beer. The food has been a bit hit and miss but if you are in the areas for a few pints it's worth checking out.
R. N.
Great atmosphere and selection of beers. Friendly customer service for the uninitiated, I have yet to try the food hence why I am giving 4 stars. I will update this review once I have tried the food. :)
T. C.
Well served pub food, friendly service and close to the Seymour Center Theatres
M. W.
The delicious bar menu has been removed unfortunately as at October 15. What they now offer is a very expensive mainly share plate based menu.
No longer good value for a pub.
R. K.
A nice, cosy place to have a meal or drink. Very friendly staff. Reasonable price.
Good food quality.
C. F.
Great beer garden, and excellent food for a bar. However, it's very expensive for a bar and expect to wait over an hour to receive your food, especially at lunchtime.
C. F.
Food is good, but pricey. Happy to pay the price for good food selection, but the portion sizes are too small, it's a shame. Do not meet the standard you'd expect from your local pub.
T. F.
Great beer and wine selection. Above average pub fare. A combo of table service and traditional pub. Friendly staff and good vibes.
B. C.
Pub around the corner style of pub.. family, after work drinks, lunch and dinner. Has gluten free options. Beer garden... Nice!
D. S.
Great service, food exceptional.
C. L.
Really nice place were I spent a nice time, discovered an astonishing kitchen sophistiquée but sans prétention
Waitress were totally adorable and allowed me to get familiar with what la cuisine australienne propose de best.

This is a great 'local'. I've been to one of their trivia nights which was a lot of fun! I didn't have any food, but it seemed like it might have been a little over priced.
R. b.
great local, only just found out they have a smoker and put it to good use - great food for a casual pub.
Also keep an eye out for the local cat lounging out the front, it's the fattest feline in Chippendale!
P. B.
Amazing food under the current chef. Great service too.
P. L.
Food was average to good but not value for money. Food took a long time to come and they forgot an order (and it was a quiet night)
C. M.

A. M.
Nice quiet little pub with a homely fit out and pleasant courtyard... but if you're charging $22 for bangers and mash, at least make it good.
M. T.
Great place! Enjoyed the Jerk Chicken burger and a drink around the fire. Nice and cosy inside (dog friendly inside) and out.
J. H.
