Felt compelled to update this to 5 stars after my last visit. Fantastically friendly and efficient service. The food was fantastic, had the burger and chips deal with a beer. It's a great pub in that it retains the charm of a pub that doesn't feel gentrified, bit still feels welcoming, comfortable and not at all tired. Thanks guys!

Great place for a rainy day, super friendly staff and so many happy doggos! We were there for a low key lunch and bevvy, ordering through the webpage was a breeze with my beer appearing infront of me in no time. I got the chicken parma for the classic pub grub, parma was a decent size with good crunch and juicy chicken, just enough cheese and sauce to cover the flattened bird. The parma was placed a top a serve of chips and coleslaw. Unfortunately, the coleslaw lacked flavour (not enough dressing and a bit limp) and the serve of chips was on the smaller side of pub serves. Hence the only 4 out of 5 stars.

We stayed over for an event at the Enmore Theatre, right from the start the staff were friendly and accommodating! Joeline printed off our tickets for us for the event at the enmore, how nice is that😀 The room was clean, spacious and bright. Bed was so comfy, and heaps of closet room for your clothes. Great location for walking to Newtown and Enmore. We will definitely be back, we especially loved the hotel architecture of an old school pub done up yet true to its heritage.

Busy place on a Saturday afternoon. Dog friendly, Some craft beers on tap, some outdoor seating. The food is average price for the area. I went back a couple of weeks later to have the smoker plate and was a little disappointed because it was the chicken plate and I was looking forward to beef. It was still good, we had two plates between three of us and it was plenty. One doesn't need an excuse but there is another trip in the planning for the beef plate.

This is an awesome venue. We didn’t book ahead but turned up at a quieter time, and luckily got a table. It took a little while to be served/helped by the security at the front who were manning the door, as they were speaking to a friend nearby for a fair while, but everything picked up once we entered so it was easy to brush aside. The Erko Hotel are utilising an impressive service called ‘ME&U’, which seems to be great at helping ensure the safety and well-being of their patrons. Once you enter, you’re guided to a table. You stay seated for pretty much the whole time, as per COVID standards, but they coped with this well. There’s a QR code on the table, and through the ME&U platform, you can easily scroll through the entire food and drinks menu on your phone, and you then pay by Apple Pay. The staff then bring the drinks and food to your table, having received the order and table number information through this platform. It’s pretty impressive. Especially when I think we’ve all had times when we’ve received the wrong order, been misheard, been unsure of the menu, the prices, the options etc. this eliminates all of that! Police frequently dropped in on the bar, assumably to check COVID regulations, but with the security not allowing more than the recommended amount of individuals inside and the presence of this ME&U platform, everything was fine. The food was very nice, decently sized portions for the schnitzel and the steak. They also pumped FANTASTIC tunes the whole night. The staff inside the venue were exceptionally friendly and cheerful too, especially the bartender and the individual with the buzz cut. Will be back!

They have a perfect little garden out the back wich has designated smoking times which i think is such a good idea and so considerate of smokers and non smokers..they also have 2 small spaces for smoking anytime. Great pub with a good atmosphere, and good food for meals or to share. Super dog friendly so that is a big plus!! You might be able to get a few pats in with some puppers even if you don’t have a dog. Beer garden out the back is great for a chilled hang out, especially when the sun is out. Note on Fri/Sat evenings the bar can get quite busy and sometimes the staff lack the ‘urgency’ in serving the line which can leave you waiting a bit.

Great food, typical pub grub like burgers, wedges, steaks, Schnitz, salads etc at very reasonable prices. Ample seating both in and out and they are happy to have your dogs both in and outdoors. Nice outdoor trees/plants/greenery. Down to earth pub with lovely friendly staff and free 2 hour parking available. Would recommend if you're after typical pub food in a nice environment. It's definitely not a shwanky/trendy bar.

Great beer and food selection! If you order meat from the smoker just beware the huge serving sizes. Good atmosphere with a cool decor, occasional live music and friendly service. Usually a well behaved patronage also which makes this place more family friendly than your average pub. It gets very crowded and noisy on weekend evenings and if you want to order food for more than two people you really should make a reservation to guarantee a place to sit.

The Erko is a local legend. Just off the Newtown main strip in the heart of trendy yet not as busy Erskineville - Erko is your go to for good food and very good beers. This place is child and dog friendly. I’ve had many family and friends over with kids and their pooches over here many times. Perfect for a lazy Sunday or a heaving Friday night drinks too. They have great beers on tap. The fried chicken burger will make you go back many times. Enjoy this pub for the vibes, beers and good times.

Awesome little local venue. Very homely and welcoming place. Good range of sport on and very friendly staff. Got a pool table and I think they also serve some food also. Feels like the joint has been round for awhile and has a good crowd, nothing too crazy or over the top.

No longer allows dogs inside which was our sole purpose for going there on a night out with friends. I really wanted to like the pub but unfortunately, there were a few mishaps during our visit. My partner and I booked a few days before for dinner Sunday at 7. A guy called Josh took our reservation and said it would be no problem. When we arrived we were told that we couldn't have had a reservation because theres a minimum number of persons for it. Thankfully, my partner remembered Josh's name and told the host that he took the reservation. The host checked with Josh and though he was far away, I saw him shake his head as if to say no when asked about the reservation. Regardless we were given a seat, even though it at the back in the corner by the rugby. We ordered our food with one dish being steak well-done. Unfortunately, it was cooked to medium. One of the blokes who served us was very nice and accommodating though (wish I caught his name but he wasn't the host or Josh). A little disappointed as I heard really nice things about this pub. It wasn't the most welcoming experience.The interior is cosy and cute and I really loved the music that was playing. Also, the food, apart from the temperature of the steak was quite good.

We had the perfect Saturday lunch at the Erko. The pub was buzzing with friends and families enjoying the venue. Throughout the week, there are some food specials which you might want to consider because a chicken parmi will set you back $24. Nevertheless, the serving portion was huge and I enjoyed the unique take on the dish when pulled pork was used instead of ham.

Lots of hype about the pub food here, especially receiving the 2015 Time Out Highly Commended Pub with best food. It was nice, definitely above average for pub food, but nothing hugely amazing. Beef Brisket was tender but didn't come with any sides (so be sure to order extra). Chips came out cold, but the Pork Parmi made up for that!

Devastated they have changed the menu, the halloumi mushroom burger was the best vegetarian burger I have ever had. Still a great atmosphere for drinks but the vegetarian offerings are pretty average now which is surprising considering the area.

One of my favourite pubs in Sydney. They have a smoker out back producing some delicious cooked flesh that changes regularly. Regular guest beers and a super casual atmosphere keeps me coming back. DJ spinning wheels of steel every Sunday night. If you're up for it there's a hot chicken wings challenge.

Great little pub; unpretentious, spacious, on-the-ball and friendly staff, and a good selection of food and beers. Lovely chilled vibe and easy to hear what people are saying there. Shows a lot of sport on TV if that's your thing, has some well worn pool tables too. The night we were there last they closed the evening out with Bohemian Rhapsody and everyone - bartenders included - started rocking out at the end and laughing.

Got the nachos without meat and sour cream.. unfortunately the menu didn’t specify it came with cheese so had to have it with that :( Staff were super nice though and the outdoor area was nice and closed in (also a smokers area though). Would like some vegan options on the menu.. maybe a chickpea burger or an eggplant pasta dish. :) One cider is $8.50.. would be better if it was $6.50.

The Erko has been through a full renovation in recent years and is now one of Sydneys better hipster pubs with an emphasis on rockabilly. Reliable brisket menu, good beer range, flannel and mullet hairstyles. Avoid the back garden in summer, as it gets hot.

The Erskinville Hotel, the is my regular. Love the Beers on tap and the food is just great. If your into your Brisket give Erko a try, it's only served after 6:00 pm. Other than the brisket their burgers, stakes and the lunch box is worth ordering. They've got a lovely outdoor area, you'll even get to enjoy the smokey smell of meats slowly cooking out back. I only would hope that Brisket is served for lunch as well.

Not a bad spot to meet for a drink, but the food is not that great. The beer garden and front seating are great though and many a jug-o-cider has been consumed here with laughs and catchups. I think pre-renos (completed mid 2012) the food was much better - nice big meals, fresh ingredients and cheap too. Since the renos, the menu has shrunk, the meals have shrunk yet the prices have gone up. Bit of a shame.

The Erskineville Hotel better known as @theerko This gorgeous inner west pub has one of the best Chicken Parmigiana I've ever tasted. This will be the gold star I compare every other #Parmi to. It was delicious. Imagine a Parmi with smoked pulled pork instead of a slice of deli ham. OMFG sooooo good.They have plenty of craft beer on tap and friendly bar staff ready to suggest the beer of the day if you can't make up your mind. Love the Erko. It is now much more the classic melting pot of the inner west - it was heading a bit too far in the RSL direction for a while. Tolerant civilised but still slightly laddish, it's the perfect spot to rendezvous with your mates on a Friday night. The food is ok with standard pub fair at good prices. They often have a feature beer with a nice cheap jug price of around $13!! :-)
