I don’t usually write reviews but we recently held our small wedding at the Glebe hotel. I couldn’t rate the service highly enough. The food was outstanding, the communication with the owner beforehand was great and he went out of his way to make suggestions to improve our experience. We had our own dedicated staff member coordinating all the bits and pieces. This staff member also went out of her way to provide a smooth handover to her colleague on evening shift. Would highly recommend giving this venue a try

Misleading advertising. 15 dollars for a burger advertised outside, 20 dollars charged at the end because they only have lunch deals Monday-Thursday. What a nice way to deal with customers. Edit: Technically yes, it was a panini, but 1) I was told I would pay the full price for any burger in "Burger" category 2) And panini was under "Burgers" category 3) I was told that no promotions are available on Friday So I would just clarify it, and either remove "Panini" from "Burgers", or advise customers that they can buy specific burgers, but definitely not tell them they need to pay the full price for any burger because it is Friday. The food was nice so I hope that for future customers you guys would fix it.

Winner winner chicken dinner! What a vibrant but cosy this Glebe institution turned out to be. Packed on trivia night Wednesday by uni students eager to win enough beer to forget the hangover from yesterday. It was also filled with surly old locals who forgot it was Wednesday and full of kids. The atmosphere was pretty special, mulled wine, pokies, loud trivia cheers and jeers. It's a pretty cool place to spend humpday. The vegan morsels were pretty special too. I had my doubts with the mushroom schnitty and half expected a large floppy crummed portabello. But it came out meaty, real meaty, almost steak like and juicy. Very impressed, there must've been some extra prep done. It was a great few hours and skewed perhaps by our mega winnings in trivia. Promptly after, probably from jealousy, the place emptied out after like a bomb threat at a school.

Lovely location. There are 3 areas here: a traditional pub at the entrance, a semi-formal dining area, and an outdoor courtyard. The food falls into the gastro-pub category and is pretty good if a bit overpriced. Staff are friendly, and overall it's a good local pub.

Renovation finished and thus place rocks. The 🍺 garden is now level and much nicer. Only issue is the corner door into the restaurant area will annoy you if it's cold and left open with people traffic. The restaurant has maintained its excellent level of food and quality produce. Everyone was delighted with the food. The front bar was going off and there were functions upstairs. The design restaurant is bigger, modern and the wine Bar bring where the old toilets were is a much better option. Food was amazing Staff were awesome Guiness is one of the best ever. Had a great night with a party of 8 Still a wicked Gem in the 💓 of Glebe.

Great local hangout... really has the feel of a classic old English Pub. Even had real fires burning for a cold winters night! Good eclectic bunch of patrons too. The architecture of this place is nice. It's dog friendly which is pretty cool. The staff are very friendly. The selection of drinks is quite limited and the food is not the greatest (especially the vegetarian options). It's a sports bar so there will be dog and horse games running in the background.

I had the beef Sunday roast. It was quite delicious. The potatoes were crispy on the outside and super fluffy on the inside. There's quite a bit of veg on there which is good for you anyway! The Yorkshire pud was fluffy and just the right amount of chewiness. The only reason I give it 4 star is because for me personally I didn't like, I think you would call it, a jam? I feel like it didn't suit the dish (it's on the bottom right where there look to be seeds). It was overly sweet and also cold. The meat was also a tad cold too. I'm not one for rare meats, but the meat just came away so easily and melted in your mouth - not chewy at all.

Great venue with cozy atmosphere. It features a beer garden as well as a romantic restaurant next to it. The waiter that served us was nice and polite, he suggested us to try one of their tap beers and took his time to tell us some facts about the brewery. Parking around the area is 1P and 2P. This is a great little pub! We stopped by for a pub meal and the food is delicious! The Snapper pie was tasty with good, quality seafood and a flaky pastry top - with a Paris mash - so flavoursome. I had the schnitzel which was crispy and light with a simple light red cabbage salad and the mushroom sauce was well balanced with a great depth of flavour. And then we found the fine dining and sunny courtyard out the back. If the bar food is this good then how good will the restaurant be?! Definitely coming back here. The staff also are friendly - you can tell they enjoy working here. A gem! Recommend!

It looks like just another Pub from the front and if you did not press on further through a narrow corridor at the back you would think that was it. But keep going and you enter quite decent size dining room with small bar for sit-down dining plus a separate alfresco area for drinks and/or casual dining. Staff are friendly and efficient. Menu covers a fair range of options including some for Vegans and Vegetarians. Prices are average but food was above average pub fare and so represented value for money. I particularly enjoyed their Marrickville IPA!

I really like this place. Came here for dinner (booked through dimmi) at the restaurant section of the pub, service was pretty decent. Food was good and the atmosphere was nice. Had the lamb which I thought was excellent. Wasn't so sure about the matcha cheesecake for dessert though. Sat next to the fireplace which was lovely for a cold winters night. Will come back again.

I've been a patron of The Glebe Hotel for easily over ten years - it's had some upgrades and some changes, but it has always remained a great place to drink, dine and celebrate occassions. Their beer garden is a lovely oasis out the back and their indoor bar gives that traditional Irish pub feel with a fireplace and leather seating. Their restaurant out back is amazing - great for either splashing out for a work lunch or celebrating a special occasion. I've taken my mum here for Mother's Day and it was a wonderful day for us all. The staff are all friendly and accommodating, the food is delicious and the menu varies over the year to suit the seasons. A great pub/bar/restaurant for any time.

Nice enough place. Unfortunately I’ve found many of the menu items to be quite inconsistent. Sometimes it’s lovely, but other times I’ve ordered the same thing again because I loved it before and it just isn’t anywhere near as good in terms of quality. Considering the price point of much of the menu, I would expect more of an effort to deliver a consistent product. Also would be good if staff were more attentive — i.e. coming back to check in with customers during their meal. It’s quite impersonal service which is why I’m addressing such concerns here rather than in person. I hope that The Glebe Hotel will make more of an effort in these areas, as it is a lovely place with great potential and I would love to come back and see the service quality has improved and the food being more consistently good rather than not being sure if I’m going to be happy to have spent $32 on a meal or thinking I would have been happier going to another pub for a $15 meal.

Beware of you are one of the many people who can't eat garlic - we were informed that the whole menu has garlic in it. Seemed unlikely but the chef clearly wasn't feeling obliging about food intolerances so we had to go elsewhere.

Am a long time patron slowly getting accustomed to the new name! The renovation has been a huge success, retaining the bar’s charm while making the restaurant and garden area amongst the best in the area. New menu too and the sausage rolls are a sensation- beautifully meaty with gorgeous, light pastry. This place is a real hidden gem, unassuming from the outside the pub offers up a cosy bar in the front, an exceptional restaurant out the back and a lovely beer garden as well, so it's perfect for everything from a casual beer to a fantastic dining experience. Food options range from well priced nightly specials and counter meals through to higher end meals. The char grilled tuna with orange and fennel salad is exceptional, perfectly grilled tuna with a lovely char flavour throughout. Great selection of wines by the glass and craft beers on tap. Very cosy place, would recommend sitting inside in the restaurant for the full table service experience.

This place is ok and represents some decent craft beers amongst some friendly clientele. They'll entice you in online with the promise of an open fire - but let's face it, there will always be a battle to get anywhere near it. I had run out of data and asked the staff whether they had Wi-Fi availability. After being told yes, I bought a beer. This yes was swiftly altered to a definite no- which obviously irked me.

Glebe was the perfect destination for my partner’s birthday. Their upstairs dining area was gorgeous, and dimly lit. Not too squishy, but small and intimate like a cubby house. The food was amazing, and the venue itself not too loud. Drinks were delicious. We tried a combination of cocktails, wine, and more. They know an espresso martini well! Located not too far from darling harbour, if you are staying anywhere around there, it is 60 seconds in an uber and you’re there. Would reccomend, will be back, thankyou glebe :)

Maybe it was just a Saturday lunch,and head chef not in, but really disappointing. $32 seafood pie, did not go close to matching the menu.There was salmon and unidentifiable fish, loads of capers??? and padded out with peas and swamped in pureed mashed potatoes. Piri piri chicken roll came out as a mix of pork belly and chicken roll ingredients. Pepsi post mix sold as coke no sugar arrrggghh.

I have been to Glebe Hotel on a few occasions now and their service and food has always been great. They have cute courtyard out in the back which is perfect for day drinks on a sunny winter day. Tried the mulled wine the last time I visited and it was delicious. Will be back again.

I recently went to this pub/restaurant for a small function (to watch the Melbourne Cup race). The upper level is really cozy with comfy armchairs and vintage style pictures as well as a little bar. The service was great, staff is really friendly. The canapes they served were super yummy. They also have a separate room with a pool table upstairs. I will definitely go there again soon for after work drinks and/or dinner and afterwards a game of pool :)

The range of beers is quite attractive and way better than what you would expect from the other pubs in the neighbourhood. Loving the new back courtyard. They’ve completely opened it up getting rid of the strange staged area and making all flat. One of the oldest pubs in Sydney, with a vibrant and incredible history. The AYH is the perfect blend between fine dining restaurant, and cosy, relaxed pub. The food is incredible. Their attitude is warm and welcoming. Upstairs is an awesome venue for birthdays or functions. A quality watering hole that is often overlooked.

I love the White Rabbit on tap here. The bar itself is cosy and warm and gives off a good vibe. We had an unfortunate experience with the restaurant staff upon being seated. A sarcastic and childish comment was made to my friend, that I found unprofessional and definitely unnecessary. I had the Oxtail Ragu and it was fantastic. I would order this again for sure.

As far as pub grub goes, The Aussie Youth is a step up from your average chicken parmie. The menu has a strong focus on quality ingredients including free range beef and chicken and is well thought out with plenty of options. They are renowned for their burger which is deservedly so. Tuesdays are a great night to go as they offer 2 for 1 on their classics menu. The wine list is expansive (but not too expensive) and they have a great range of beers on tap including the MV Vale Ale, one of my favourites.

What can i say... the Aussie Youth is an oldstyle country pub smack bang in the early inner west. The "pub" section offers cosy and fun environment to sink a few beers with mates. Very open setting encouraging a yarn with new yolks. Wide range of beers and wines available. The "restaurant" and courtyard are a definite step up from the average pub bistro. Sophistated dining room glows under candles light and the ornate brickwork is patched in delicate candle wax sculptures. The food is divine (although expect to pay restaurant prices) and a fine wind list to match!! Courtyard offers a more relaxed atmosphere with the same fine dining! In winter the hearth crackles and you can play boardgames like mousetrap or scrabble by the fire and highly recommend the steak and guinness pie to top of the experience!!
