Fantastic value for money. The strawberries were delicious, and overall it was great! To nitpick, the waffles were a little dry, but this was easily balanced out with the syrup and ice cream.

We have been coming to the big table off and on for nearly 25 years. Our son (now 25) grew up on fat toast there and now in our retirement it remains a firm favourite with us. I love the french toast and the coffee is consistently good. We get great service from Rachel too.

Had great customer service from first point of contact. Big table seating areas as well as high chair seating areas. The food was amazing! Especially the mushrooms in the big breakfast. Little one normally eats savoury French toast but he has the sweet style French toast with the maple syrup and strawberry and loved it! Definitely a place for breakfast or lunch which will also accommodate if you have kids too. Will definitely come back again :)

Really enjoyed our brunch here. Service was friendly and food delivered promptly. Breakfast items only served until 12pm. Corn fritters, French toast and BLT were all delicious, and generous in serving. Most people came for the coffee. Limited seats available.

Best short Mac I've had in a month.
The thin young lady who served me tho was rather unpleasant. Rest of the staff good.

Our favorite place at the market. Amazing food and great coffee.
Generous servings of healthy food. Their carrot cake is delicious.

3.5⭐ Tried their Housemade Hamburger and flat white. Their HH tasted better after it was heated up, though it did not look appetising. Flat white was good.

I was very satisfied with the taste of the food, but I was thirsty all day after eating it.

My wife and l visited this coffee place last night. I ordered a hot chocolate and was offered a piece of home made cake with it for free! Both were yummy and prepared on time. The staff and the owner were warm, friendly and very approachable.
Will definitely revisit.

The high energy, vibe here has reduced compared to previously, and I see from other posters that my suspicion that ownership has changed is confirmed. But the baguettes here are still delicious, and coffee was good too. The staff were friendly, and mostly new faces. Yes, a little slower, but I think there are fewer people working currently compared to previously, and also the previous team sure set a pace to be reckoned with! Hoping the new owners rally and that Big Table can remain a top spot for brunch or a bite to eat at the markets.

I really like the atmosphere of Central Market and especially The Big Table.

Place clean, AMAZING FOOD, great customer service, place owner brightened up my day and food got ready really quickly, I seriously couldn't ask for more.
Over all I highly recommend coming here and surely would come back.

Big Table is THE place for brunch at the Central Market. Their regular French Toast is delicious and the French Toast specials they do from time to time are especially good (Peaches and Cream, and Apple Crumble were highlights). They also have a wide range of excellent savoury options that cater to many different tastes and dietary requirements. Coffee is good to boot.

I am a long standing customer, and it’s true there are new owners .. recently moved to Australia from Iran. A very friendly and warm family. The food quality has not changed, but it would be fair to say that taking over such a frantic paced business has been a challenge. The fresh turkey wrap I had today was fresh and generous in its proportions, unlike places nearby. They seem now to beck top of their service standards, with beautiful breakfasts pouring out. Like any business in the hospitality area, there have been numerous changes, but stability and service appears to me to be superb. Coffee is the best in the market, with a very experienced barista. 10/10 for me.

Best cafe in town
Highly recommended
Very friendly staff
Fresh and homemade delicious food 😋👍👌

Great food at this cosy little cafe inside the central markets. The staff are always super friendly and the coffee is smooth and delicious.

We had breakfast on a busy Saturday morning.
Food options were good. Scrambled eggs and bacon was very tasty. Corn fritters were ok, but would try a different option in the future.
Had a few issues with service- as the tables are shared between several businesses, they are not cleared quickly. The drinks came though we had to ask for an extra cup. The food came out in dribs and drabs, with one meal forgotten. The staff were quick to fix that once notified. One meal also did not have the requested bacon, which was also remedied quickly once alerted.
In summary- food was good, service was average, though it was a busy day.

Great food, fun buzzing location. They automatically served up the poached eggs and salmon on fantastic brown bread. Coffee was two well made Vittoria long blacks (not my favourite coffee... oh well)

It's easy to see why breakfast at Big Table in the Adelaide Central Markets is desirable. Great tasting food and coffee, prepared and served quickly, by a team that works well together. If you're seeking a new breakfast destination, the Big Table experience is quality and value for money.

Stopped in for breakfast whilst on business trip to Adelaide in November 2018. It’s a very busy popular breaky spot. Staff are friendly and service is fast. The coffee is excellent as was the corn fritters with poached egg that I ordered on the day. There is a large menu written on a chalkboard above the stall and daily specials too.
B. Q.
A Popular cafe , first one I tried in the market. French toast is surprisingly good.
M. K.
Lovely eatery with friendly staff and amazing carrot cake. I always attend when I am at the central markets!
N. B.
Great atmosphere, nice coffee with a very professional barista on board. This is, the place to go for a coffee at the Adelaide Market
M. P.
Good coffee here, if you're lucky enough to nab a seat. Food is a mixed bag, though. My boyfriend had the corn fritters which were delicious, but my mushrooms had almost no pesto on them and the flavor was meh.
R. A. P.
We were intrigued by this cafe as there were a lot of people occupying the chairs. We ordered Big breakfast and a cappuccino. Coffee was not too strong, and brekky was okay. Should've gone with the Baguettes and French toast. Perhaps next time...
W. G.
A fairly average offering for the Central Markets. Coffee took for what felt like an eternity to come out, and the flavours of the breakfast roll weren’t incredible. If you’re looking for a standard ‘mum’ type cafe, or one you’d find in a country town Main Street, you’ve got it.

Big table is a great place to sit and watch the world. The coffee is superb and the food gorgeous with good sized servings. The staff are friendly and caring. Bravo!

Not the worst, but far from the best
My soy late wasnt amazing and was real foamy.
Ordered the vego breakfast and asked for no pesto (because I didn't know if it was vegan) and for the haloumi to be on a separate plate so it didn't touch the rest of my food, so my girlfriend could have it.
Both of these instructions were ignored.
Two mushrooms for a serve is a bit poor, and my $19 plate of food was mostly kale. The pesto wasn't very flavourful and was only spread on like a third of each piece of toast.
Everything tasted fine, but I don't think I'll return.

I know people love this place but for me it's hard to understand why when you are in the markets and there are so many wonderful food outlets to choose from. My recent experience was ordering a piece of apple and raspberry bread or was it pear, which was almost $10 and a Mountain Fresh Juice. I think both items came to about $14. Its the upper limit of what I would be prepared to pay, especially at a place where there is no table service. Big problem was the bread was not baked fresh; it was taken out of a freezer wrapped in glad wrap and was heated on what must have been a flat toaster which had previously been used for something savoury or with garlic so the flavour was completely tarnished. Bread was blergh/mediocre. I won't say anything about the staff member because I think he/she must have been new.
I'm done with Big Table for now.

Best coffee place in the market. Beautiful, large breakfasts plus yummy baguettes, sandwiches etc for lunch. Food & coffee is consistently good. Staff are very friendly too. Keep up the good work!

Fabulously wholesome and delicious food, a wonderful location and great coffee - one of my favourite places at the Central Markets for sure. Particularly if you are after plant-based, healthy breakfast options I cannot recommend this place highly enough 🙌🏻🥗☕️

It was recommended to my partner by someone she met on her way to Adelaide. Tried the big beaky and the kale and goat cheese omelette and they were awesome.

Always fantastic, fresh food with decent portions. A great communal atmosphere if you actually sit at the "big table" 👏

The French Toast is fantastic! Sat at the bar, chatted with the staff and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

It's ok. Getting overpriced now. The food is basic at its best. The only good thing is the barista, he's cute.
U. C.
Food n coffee are ok but this place has got some hygiene problems. The ladies have got dirty hands and twice I've got a tummy ache! I've stopped going.

One of the best breakfast feeds I've had. The Cafe Latte was nice and strong, perfectly balanced and creamy. The home made corn fritters with crispy bacon, avocado and aoli was edible incredible. The Mrs didn't complain about her poached eggs and salmon either. Service with a smile was friendly and helpful. 👍

(Translated) It is a cafe inside the Central Market in Adelaide. It is not the largest but it has quite a bit of charm and the food is very good. We went for breakfast and we loved it. For a small place there is quite a variety and options for breakfasts. The prices are the usual ones in Australia.
