Went for schnitzel Thursday, I have had a lot of schnitzel in my time and the one they serve here is one of the best, and you can't beat that price of $13:50 for an entire meal. The staff was friendly and the meal came out at the perfect time. Highly recommended.

While visiting Adelaide I popped into this gorgeous little hotel to have dinner, the staff were so lovely and very friendly and the service impeccable. I ordered a rib eye steak it came out cooked to perfection and the salad and mash was lovely. I’d definitely go back there again one of the best meals I’ve ever had 🙂

Great food and very attentive staff! Oysters Kilpatrick were very fresh and delicious. Scotch fillet steak cooked perfectly. Beef schnitzel was tasty but breadcrumbs were a bit too thick for my liking but they had Worcestershire sauce which is a perfect match for any schnitzel. Veggie and salad bar had a good variety too! We'll be going back soon :)

Pretty good place for a quick lunch. Meals were delivered promptly, and certainly no complaints from the table. Menu range was good and would cater for most people. Prices were very reasonable and quality was good. Car Parking as you would expect for City location is a premium. And, of course the elephants were well behaved :)

Excellent food and superb service. We attended as part of a group today and my only memory of this pub was as a young boy with my parents. The decor inside still resonates it's era but that makes it more if an advantage these days. The kitchen handled the large group with ease with all food delivered to all almost in sync. From all the feedback there was nothing but praise. The staff were outstanding and are a credit to their position also being friendly and helpful.

Good find this one. Décor is almost country pub style, chairs are comfy and tables are clean. Take your apatite with you, you''ll need it, the servings are large, the roast is great value at $16 and the surf-n-turf at $18,50 was also good value for a 250g tasty steak, chips, roast veg, 3 prawns and 2 calamari with home made sauce. Did not have to wait long and service was good. Parking out back in well lit area, street parking also avail.

If you enjoy being a carnivore this is one place you ought to reward yourself by trying. Lovely old fashioned Adelaide pub. Excellent Service and prices that won't bust the bank.

A bit of an institution on West Terrace, but a great pub. Staff are friendly and efficient, and the meals are very good. You can always score a carpark out the back or nearby on the street. Give it a go next time you're looking for a city escape.

Helpful friendly staff looked after us in the huge dining room. Great seating arrangements with seating for two for intimate dining or tables for five or more fir larger parties. Great menu selection but the specialty is steak. The steaks are aged, the meat tender and delicious. The fries are nice and crispy not soggy or squishy. The portions are ample with a good salad bar and also some hot food. A great place for lunch or dinner

Im neither regular drinker nor gambler, but i went into the Elephant and Castle on Melbourne Cup day, 14 hrs before US election day, i was wondering if i could place a last minute Bet on the US election, having followed it all very carefully, i had an opinion as to the outcome. Ben Francis behind the counter was flat out with the Melbourne Cup and the place seemed Chaotic. Nevertheless he came out put me on a computer and found the election tables. I put $80 for Trump to Lose; & end up with between 210 - 239 electoral college votes. Being a novice i pocketed the betting card and lost the betting slip. What a nuisance i was, went back to Ben who made notes from computer photographed docket and told me to come back in 3 hrs whereby he rang headquarters in Sydney, blocked the lost slip and gave me a reference number. Trump got 232 college votes i won $640 But im still amazed at bens handling of the situation under intense pressure all with a smile and not so much as a grimace. 5 star
