Amazing service and food! Everything was beautifully presented, fresh and delicious. We had the chefs tasting menu and you would not be disappointed! Each person received their own serve.
The only drawback was the music and lighting didn't quite meet the vibe. It was a bit distracting.

Really enjoyable dining service. Each dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Good service and nice decor. Amazing Wagyu steak - would highly recommend this dish!

@elpisfoodandwine is a new restaurant on Gouger street. They are the sister restaurant of Erato Teppenyaki. The food was super tasty, although a bit on the small side for portion sizes (for the mains particularly). We loved everything. Drinks were yummy too! If you enjoy modern Asian cuisine with a fine dining and modern Japanese twist, I would recommend you trying this place out! It's a little bit out of place for Gouger Street, so I understand why some people would find it a bit on the pricey side. But I think for the quality of the food, it's not bad. We paid ~80$/person including drinks. I would also like to see more variety on the menu as well.
.
Snacks: pickled mushrooms, smoked pork jowl with cured egg yolk. Both dishes were really good. The pork jowl was super delicious with the smokiness flavour and the cured yolk shavings!
.
Ora King salmon, seaweed, crackling: this dish was fantastic! The salmon was super super tender. When we cut it with a knife, it felt like cutting through butter. Amazing 😍😍😍.
.
Hiramasa kingfish, buttermilk, bottarga, goat's curd: this dish had a citrus-y flavour that was very refreshing. Lovely flavours!
.
Aburi Hokkaido scallops, bone broth, sugar snaps: these scallops were excellent - nice smokey flavour and very tender.
.
Burrata, heirloom tomatoes, red pepper, umeboshi, olive crumb: the burrata was very yummy with all the other ingredients in this dish. I it.wosh there were more of those crackers to scoop it all up!
.
Grilled chicken, teriyaki glaze, burnt leek, textured yolk: wow we really loved this chicken! The skin was crispy, and the sauce was yummy. The burnt leek and the yolk added lots of good flavours 🤤😍.
.
Angus scotch fillet, with shiitake butter: the steak was nicely made at medium-rare. The highlight was the shiitake butter - omg it was so yummy!!
.
Dengaku eggplant, miso hummus, torched macadamia, pickled enoki: this is a bit of an upmarket version of the typical nasu dengaku that you'd find in many Japanese restaurants. The eggplant was super soft and gooey - perfect flavours.
.
Market fish (mulloway), mussels, charred tomato tea, nduja: maybe our least favourite dish of the night. The skin was nice and crispy, and the fish was reasonably tender. But I felt it wasn't special enough compared to the other dishes.
.
Hojicha gin and tonic: great gin!

Being the sister restaurant of Erato (definitely recommend as well) I really wanted to try out Elpis. I can say it did not disappoint. The place looks small from the outside but pretty spacious inside with a lovely setup.
Staff were very attentive and welcoming. The food was very delicious and cooked to perfection. Top three favourites would have to be :
1. Hiramasa Kingfish, Buttermilk, Bottarga, Goat's Curd;
2. Ora King Salmon, Seaweed, Tobiko
3. Australia Wagyu Striploin MS 8/9 with the option Shiitake Butter or Yuzu Mustard, with Citrus Soy & Ginger Oil
I think we also tried every cocktail on the menu which all tasted and looked amazing as the food.

Had the Angus scotch fillet, with shiitake butter: the steak was perfectly cooked on rare side of medium-rare.
Cocktails were delicious - great dining experience all-round

I am so happy to find this little 'Gem' on Gouger st. It seemed pretty new restaurant in Chinatown. Nice and clean venue. staff were very friendly and service was beyond expectations. The most importantly, food was just amazing!!! My family had tasting plates and some mocktails. Delicately themed, each plate was very fresh, full of flavour, beautiful presentation and DELICIOUS!!! We eat out very regularly to many places around in Adelaide and I can say that night we went out to Elpis was one of the best experience. Only one thing that I would like to point out is there was not much attraction outside of the restaurant, may hard to see it's existance.

Love the ambience! Very put together but not uptight.
Food is good too, presentation’s great and went really well with the drinks (they have a very comprehensive and well organised drinks menu).
Overall, good place for a date or even for business.

Too-notch venue. Delicious food (the scallops were some of the best we’ve had) & great service. Very accomodating & much care taken with food allergies. Highly recommend a visit.

Absolutely incredible.
Impeccable service, the friendliest wait staff and the best food and cocktails you'll find at a place that doesn't have a Michelin star. And the ambience is fantastic.

Great food. Definitely recommend the lamb, the duck cigars and the chocolate mousse

Fine dining with fine food and wine. The owners have really put some effort into this restaurant and it shows with the great food, service and drinks they deliver. Would i recommend them absolutely, the oysters were fresh and full of flavour, the kingfish was just a mouth full of flavour, it was fresh and just so tasty and you can see the chef enjoys what he does. The steak is very much how you would expect a good steak to be, tender juicy and cooked to perfection with great taste along with the chicken being full of great flavours and left us licking our lips. Lucky last dessert, simply delectable. everything at Elpis is great and will leave you wanting to go back for more :) here are some pictures for you to salivating!

Nice Kingfish and Beef tartar, beautiful place, but still need to improve the service and a bit more choices on the food menu. Will visit again.

Extremely delicious. Roasted lamb was the best! Candied olives work so well with black garlic and the lamb.
