Simply amazing. One of the best dining experiences in Australia to date. Been lucky to dine at some of Melbourne's best and I would say this is by far my #1 pick now. Food was exquisite and left you wanting more. We did the paired iconic wines and with the beautiful view it all just tied in together beautifully. Certainly on the premium side of pricing but worth it for those special occasions. Cannot wait to visit again.

Had the most spectacular food experience. In total there were twenty items of food, so I honestly feel that $220 is more than reasonable. Every single dish that came out was meticulously made with such an incredible eye for detail. The staff were all wonderful and very intuitive. The views are beautiful. The Grandfather 30 Year Old Tawny is to die for. Such a wonderful place for a special occasion. Would highly recommend.

The restaurant is beautifully located with amazing views. Service by the ladies led by Ria was outstanding but slightly let down by the 2 male serving staff with lacklustre service - performing their jobs perfunctorily without the professionalism expected when working in such a top fine dining establishment. Ria & the other ladies however more than made up for it with their cheerful banter & sincere service. The food though is simply outstanding. The snacks were absolutely delightful & the chef has obviously put in alot of thought into them. All the dishes were delicious (favourite is the lamb wellington). Reservations are necessary & though a little pricey at $220 per head, the wine list needless to say was fantastic & well priced.

Stunning food and beautiful dining experience. Everything was perfectly curated and and unbelievably delicious. Highly recommend.

I cannot explain how proud I am that this wonderful place is on our doorstep. Representing some of the world's best wine, Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant still gives me goosebumps. From the warm personalised welcome, with a chilled Bollinger in the lounge bar overlooking the beautiful Magill Estate Vineyard, to the truly fine dining experience of the menu and food, Magill Estate remains one of our ultimate favourites. Selecting from a 3 course classic menu or 7 course signature menu, the food is usually locally sourced by season, and prepared to perfection. Wine pairing is of course also offered, choose from the Sommeliers Choice, or if you are bold, the Icon & Luxury wine package. We were so fortunate this time around that a Bin 80A was included in the I&L package, simply outstanding. For a truly unforgettable fine dining experience, very few locations in Australia, let alone Adelaide, can offer the unique ability to match Australia's best produce with her wine, a vice versa. Thanks again Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant, you have made my 40th unforgettable

Only with myself, I spent $250 (only with non alcohol drink), but it worths. Friendly staff, nice view, hah, the manager attempted to give me the eftpos machine instead of my receipt when I paid the bill. Well, he told me that he did some wine tasting at night, hah
L.
Absolutely amazing experience, great wine tasting and the most fantastic cheese platter we’ve ever had!
P. L.
Their dishes are an art form - they are well thought out, balanced, taste and look amazing. Good service.
M. K.
We had the 7 course menu. I travelled the world, been to many restaurants but this place just blew my mind. It is one of the best restaurants in Australia and can easily compete with European or other restaurants. The quality of the food is top shelf and every dish created is unique in itself causing a new explosion of flavours in your mouth. Coupled with the wines it is a place you have to dine and enjoy the beautiful view as well. I will def come back one day. Congrats to the kitchen, waitress etc. to create such an amazing experience!

Our visit was a fine dining masterclass from the moment we entered the building. Fantastic food and service in lovely surroundings. Also was wonderful that my dietaries didn't affect other members of my party - we had similar but separate menus. Wines were excellent too. Was too excited about the food to take loads of photos, but here's a shot of the five different flavoured butters you get with your bread - which at least gives you a sense of their incredible attention to detail!
T. S.
Incredible restaurant with gorgeous views of the vineyard. The degustation menu delivers delight after delight. Couple this with either a wine pairing or your own choice, and you are guaranteed a perfect experience.
My only downer: when spending the money you do at a place like this, being charged for water is a little poor form.
C. P.
Food was amazing. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
T. N.
Giving it a 3.5 stars due to service was very average and the length of dinner ( nearly 5 hours for them to finish serving us).
We felt we were mistreated by how others was getting treated around us. Never had a place to take our glasses away and didn't ask us if we wanted another. Also took awhile to refil our sparkling water.
However the food was amazing, we loved the food, the snacks, the lobster, the steak, it was all beautifully cooked.
Just a shame the service for us was very poor.

After orana shut down. This place become Adelaide fine dining number 1.
The first thing is the advantages, the ingredients are very fresh and worth the price, the taste is good, and the quality of service is good.
Then let's talk about the shortcomings, the dishes are quite satisfactory, not new enough, and not much change. And the seasoning is relatively monotonous and similar, quit boring

Oliver served me today, attentive and friendly, the place is always great.
Great views and the outdoor area has plenty of shade.
Wine Valley Tours recommends this iconic place.
D. B.
Cannot recommend this enough. One of the best dining experiences that I have ever had! The food was delicious, service impeccable and the wine pairing outstanding. An amazing restaurant!
D. Q.
Had a great two and a half hours of tours and wine tasting, a very interesting part of South Australias history.
Our guide for the day was excellent, highly recommend visiting Penfolds,
I am a non drinker and still had a great day
V. C.
Excellent service, top quality foods, great atmosphere.

2nd Visit and still exceptional Food & View.
A. N.
Had an amazing time at Penfold’s Magill estate restaurant.
We did the tasting menu with wine pairings and grange tasting and it was great value for money.
The food was delicious and finely crafted.
The view was amazing at sunset overlooking Adelaide city.
The service was exceptional.
See photos attached. Well worth it

We went in Penfolds to buy my favorite Father Tawny and decided to have something to eat and share. The food quality was good but taste nothing wow. Quite pricy for a small portion. My husband and I love trying different restaurants and food and comparing the food quality and taste. The view absolutely amazing.
L. N.
My partner and I have been here once before for his birthday but decided to come back for another special occasion. Absolutely loved all the snacks, each so intricate and delightfully tasty. Love the view at night of the vineyard and the adorable rustic set up on the table with the menu leaning on a small branch. The last time we were here was in the summer, so we were lucky enough to see the sun set whilst having dinner. Recommend dining at dusk in the summer, as the view of the vineyard is West, where the sun sets. You can also take some great shots in the natural light. Absolutely gorgeous. Service is also always fantastic. Great wine.
K. R.
Booked cabana experience, didn't get it due to weather. Food and beverage package was great. Was treated to a few special extras and Archie was amazing. Would book here again. Thank you!!!
Would recommend 100%

Today was our 40th Wedding Anniversary lunch in the Penfolds Restaurant , amazing food, great wine, fantastic and friendly staff special thanks to Graham the Chef they all made our day very special something we will always remember Highly recommend
R. T.
By far the best lunch I’ve ever had a restaurant . Great service, excellent wine and the various courses were beautifully presented and full of flavour.
G. S.
Had lunch in the tunnels at Penfolds Magill Estate today
Wow amazing !
The best ambience, service , food and of course the best wine 🍷
Brilliantly hosted by Millie and her team
The perfect place for a special function 😃
C. K.
An exquisite experience. Outstanding, genuine service from the hosts, exceptional wine & food with the addition of a stunning view. So much thought put into every aspect from beginning to end. A beautifully memorable experience & a must visit.
L. D.
Fantastic food very good service
S. M.
Deeply underwhelming, when compared to Restaurant Botanic the experience at Penfolds comes across as dated and uninspired. Service and food felt like it was from 20 years ago, would only come back for the wine.
H. M.
Simply amazing I highly recommend this place and believe this is one of the best places to have a meal in South Australia I recommend the chicken waffles and eggs on toast with hashbrowns amazing views with great service 😋
N. R.
Pretty good experience overall, some dishes I found challenging. Sommelier was very helpful and accommodating, wines paired well with dishes. Wish food was explained in more detail and felt a little rushed at the start. Lovely location. We were there a little over 3 hrs and felt very full by the end of our 7 course meal
W. T.
Loved the food and the wine at this restaurant cafe. The wine went well with the bread. The mushroom pasta was amazing with their home made butter. Vegetarian options were available too. The staff were friendly and experienced. Keep up the good work. The Deco is amazing. Nice place to bring people for wine tasting and sales.
L. A.
What a classy place! Seriously enjoyed the food and wine here, and the staff were outstanding in making sure we enjoyed the experience. Well done Penfolds, outstanding restaurant you have...
M. W.
Beautiful, intimate setting, amazing and abundant food offerings. Extensive wine list. Fantastic service. 10/10
C. Z.
Had a great lunch here precovid. The mayura wagyu add on was definitely worth it.
J. S.
Fantastic view over the city. A short drive from the city and you feel like your in wine country at a fraction of the time.
R. H.
Amazing food. The best tasting menu I have experienced. Everything was super tasty and hands down the best steak I’ve ever eaten. I didn’t get the matching wines so can’t comment there. Staff were outstanding - professional and knowledgeable but friendly and chatty. Will go back.
C. C.
Amazing restaurant! We ate here on a Wednesday, which is their project night. Everything was delicious but I particularly loved their dessert which had a carrot sorbet and white choc mousse. Unforgettable!
J. W.
Archie served us today and he was exceptional.
Fabulous food, wine and company.
Would recommend!
H. Y.
Top restaurant in Australia, for sure.
A 3-hours wonderful dream lunch.
G. B.
One of the best meals I enjoyed during my visit to Adelaide. I didn't get to fully appreciate the location at night but the surrounds were beautiful. The staff were on point, friendly, efficient and helpful. Each of the courses excellent, with the accompanying wines making the evening great.
S. O.
5 star food, wine and service. They do a great job at catering for vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters alike. One of the best lunches I’ve ever had, we’ll be back again.
e.
Delicious food with great views of the city.
B. P.
Had our staff Christmas function here and it was amazing all round, the food and service is impeccable! You can't find better in Adelaide
x. s.
Nice food. We chose the 9 course meal but we had 13-14 dishes. Amazing!
C. D.
More than ample, friendly accommodating staff, wine's, food with a view.
Enjoyable all round.
B. M.
Fabulous service. Wonderful ambience. Brilliant food. Catered to dairy free well.
T. S.
Wonderful Tasting Experience! Tamara served us from the counter and provided us with a new benchmark for friendly and professional wine tasting experience. Tamara’s knowledge of wines, and of Penfold’s wines and history, made this one of my best wine tasting experiences. I highly recommend adding this to your list. Unfortunately the tours were all booked out. Good news is this means we will need to make another visit. Great wines, Great experience.
A. P.
Food incredible (10/10) however service appalling. Never have we experienced such rude an unhelpful staff. Such a shame as this is such a beautiful restaurant.
F. W.
Simply outstanding. In the very top level of Australia’s best restaurants. Do not miss.
m. w.
My partner and I visited Adelaide last weekend and dined at the restaurant. A wonderful experience of beautiful food and glorious wine. The staff were as you’d expect professional, engaging and passionate about food and wine.
C. D.
Fantastic tastes, wonderful outlook over the vines and a perfect match of flavours and iconic wines.
R. K.
What an incredible harmony of food and wine.
A perfect afternoon.
A. B.
Beautiful view and lovely wines
L. T.
Extraordinary food and wine (need it be said?) with impressive and attentive service. The beautiful setting only adds to the amazing experience which we have continued to use many times over!
B. B.
Beautifully situated in the heart of the winelands, this place oozes understated style & quality. I’m not usually a fan of ‘posh’ dining establishments - at least those that are stiff and formal - but whilst certainly ‘top end’, Penfolds Magill delivers great food, friendly & professional service...and critically, a relaxed and thoroughly indulgent experience.
L. W.
If I could give this place 6 stars I would. The place has a descent price tag but it comes with fantastic service, fantastic wine list and fantastic food. Food came in small proportions but there was enough of it and it.... was.... quality! Fantastic view of the vineyards looking over Adelaide. Great to celebrate any occasion. Loved it.
S. C.
Rudranil and the team helped with my proposal - not only providing a great idea, but working with me to incorporate the lunch and proposal together in a private setting. The lunch food menu was excellent with impeccable wine pairing. Would highly recommend and thanks again Penfolds!
J. H.
Not a stretch to call it one of Adelaide's best...world-class dining and service, with careful attention to detail. Very talented chefs who can cater to all sorts of dietary needs - I thought being pregnant, it would pose a challenge but I did not miss out at all. The non-alcoholic drink pairing was very enjoyable as well. Highly recommend.
H. A.
place to visit for some top shelf wine and some great eats! Words class and awesome food. Great location for a private tasting party and cool view. I was hesitant to make the little trek up to the winery but found it well worth it
Very awesome palace to stay and have fun.
F. K.
Came here from Sydney for the lunch degustation menu. Unfortunately only 3 out of the 9 dishes stood out. Flavours and ingredients were very repetitive. I don't usually like red protein but the menu was missing quiet a lot of that. The bread and butter was decent and made the lunch a bit more enjoyable. Overall very small portions and definitely not worth the price tag.
B. S.
Really hit or miss food and an uninspired wine program that features a lot of fantastic wines but lacks enthusiasm and theatre from the wait staff
B. C.
Great place to visit for some top shelf wine and some great eats! Words class and awesome food. Great location for a private tasting party and cool view. I was hesitant to make the little trek up to the winery but found it well worth it. Happy I went and I was treated to seeing a VIP Big Pimpin client chopper in and out!
P. W.
Had the 7course degustation with paired wines. This is an event restaurant with amazing views at night.
Expensive at $440 per head but for a once off special occasion for people into their wine I would highly recommend it. The wait staff had in depth knowledge of each of the tasting plates and the exceptional wines. Highlights were the bin 707 and the 2011 Grange.
T. C.
last Saturday, I was at "Penfolds Magill Estate Restaurant" for dinner with my family. I enjoyed my "Steak" which was too delicious in taste. All staff members are attentive and dedicated to their work. I would definitely visit again soon. Highly Recommended!!!!
G. B.
Excellent fine dining restaurant. Staff all very professional with good knowledge of what they are serving. Food was world-class, wine list exceptional. If you are celebrating something special definitely the place to visit.
X.
Delicious food and amazing views. Great service too. A little out of the way, but well worth it for fine dining.
R. W.
Wonderful food and service. The view was great and we got a lovely private "booth" lounge of sorts to dine and celebrate. Accommodating staff to dietary preferences. Highly recommended and should book separate to the wine tour dining!
L. B.
Coming here for breakfast or brunch is always an incredible dining experience. The food and coffee is superb, staff are very helpful and the view is amazing. Even better that prices are very affordable for the quality of food that you get! Cannot recommend this place highly enough, it’s our favourite breakfast destinations.
S. M.
6 Stars if I could give it. An exceptional dining experience. Amazing tasting menu, hospitality, extensive well priced Penfold's wine list, stunning decor and views out over Magill Estate with Adelaide's shining lights in the background.
A. H.
Booked for 7 people at 10am on Sunday, arrived at 9.50 and seated, pleasant lady took our drinks order, and said the waiter would come and take our food order, the fruit juice arrived after 15 mins, the coffee's took 47mins. The food order took 57mins to come for a normal breakfast, bacon was only just warm, the eggs were hot thank goodness.
My son takes clients there sometimes and warned me the service for coffee and food is very slow, good food when you get it, good waiting staff but very slow kitchen, it was 70% full, so there we no excuse for the long wait.
N. A.
Wonderful evening
All staff good however Hannah was very happy to explain in depth the various food experiences after other waiters quickly did what was expected of them, without further explanation.
Congratulations for our wonderful night.
Food and experience much more exciting than Levantine Hill and
Thank you
Neil Anson
S. C.
Nice staffs and great food.
R. D.
Great venue and very tasty food. Gorgeous views too.
D. D.
Food was excellent except for the vegetarian entree. The wine was good, as expected.
K.
Lovely quality of food.. small serves.. we had two mains of fish(small serves) plus three sides and a dessert. The quality was excellent however, carrots were undercooked. They very kindly wrote happy bday around the dessert plate! Lovely views and service !
s. c.
We go here all the time for coffee and pastries. Amazing food. Great service. Lovely outdoor seating overlooking Adelaide.
Remarkably good with young kids and staff are very tolerant of them.
T. E.
Worth the trip to Adelaide just to visit this place. Do the wine pairing or regret it for the rest of your life. Arrive early and enjoy the cocktail lounge.
B. M.
Very good food and of course wine. Service good too.
S. S.
Honestly, Ive been to Magill estate several times for dinner, and each other time I would easily have given 5 stars but tonight it just didn't hit the mark. The food was good but not as exciting as it had been previously and some of the proteins were a little tough. The wines weren't paired as well with the food as I have previously experienced here, and the glasses were no where near full, we also received less glasses of wine than we've previously had for the same price. Waring could have also been given to the $38 glass of champagne in the lounge area pre dinner. The service was lacking a little also. We've previously never been charged for water and have always received little chocolate truffle farewell gifts which we didn't tonight, something to usually extend the experience. Having recently been to the cube it's quite easy now to pick a favourite, and unfortunaley it's not magill estate.
L. L.
It was amazing but the service was average.
D. M.
Hands down best degustation, leaps and bounds better than others we have tried! I proposed to my partner here, couldn't have made a better choice. Thanks to all the staff and chefs for the lovely evening and memory.
S. H.
Enjoyed it but having lived in Sydney I had high expectations as the pricing could be compared to Quay. Great service and food, wouldn't be a regular place to visit but a nice overall experience!
B. B.
As expected great wine tasting opportunity....Penfolds Celebration of its new vintage release. Would have been extra wonderful with a bit more food to eat...having said that, what we had was amazing, so no complaints there.
W. O.
Excellent food. Great wine. Sat outside. Terrible service. Ignored and kept chasing waiting staff.
G. F.
Outstanding food. Ridiculously priced drinks. $50 each for the softdrinks package. We apparently drank $80 worth of table water. The waiter was extremely touchy about the costs. $3,000 for 9 people. 2 of whom weren't drinking. Wow.
D. &. L.
Magil Estate holds a special place in my heart.
It's here I proposed to my soon to be wife amongst it's beautiful vines.
But I promise despite the love affair I have, this review is all about the experience.
From its sheek minimalist decor and mood lighting, Magil Estate Penfolds oozes sex appeal and is the epitome of intimate fine dining.
As you sip your chosen local or imported bubbles and peruse the nights offerings, you see the perfectly crafted degustation style menu builds harmoniously whilst staying true to and harnessing the very best regional produce.
Chef Scott Huggins showcases his creative flare all awhile combining modern and classic techniques. As the wait staff present each course, you get a true sense of how much thought and effort has gone into them.
Flavour bomb after flavour bomb you slowly slip into a comfortable food coma, all they needed to supply was a pillow and we would have happily slept overnight at our table hahaha.
You really do feel special here.
S.
Amazing food. Get there and enjoy a nice spring day
C. O.
Lovely food treated with care. We had the chefs tasting selection. For the price of a cafe significantly better food. Also wonderful surroundings and view. Not to be consused with the restaurant that is superb fine dining.
J. M.
Great views. Slow service. Food is quite nice, but over priced. Very limited choice for vegetarians.
K. L.
Beautiful location, friendly service and good food too. Try the express lunch if you're in a hurry.
G. K.
Really well set up , close to Adelaide cbd though doing this without a tour limits your day
M. H.
Never disappointed in the quality of food and a great location but you pay for it.
A. P.
Amazing food and great scenery. Worth planning for a taste test while your there
G. E.
Visited for lunch and had the cheeseburger, gnocchi, burrata, and sourdough. Every dish was delicious. Very reasonably priced with reasonable serves. The staff were impeccable. The location is lovely. Topped off with a glass of St Henri. Will definitely be back.
D. W.
Fantastic food, great service and super friendly staff.
B. K.
Fantastic food! We have now been there fore both dine-in and takeaway and both were memorable experiences.
i.
Unbelievably decadent but absolutely worthwhile, made us feel very special on our wedding anniversary... You have to try it at least once!
A. A.
Excellent food, good service and lovely views not to mention a sensational wine selection. What more could you ask for?
J. R.
Great coffee, excellent food, modern stylish decor, professional friendly service, awesome wine
J. P.
Very good food - slightly OTT service that doesn’t match the bistro style.
I’m a fan. Just need to make the series more convivial.
D. C.
Still one of the best restaurants.
B. &. L. C. S.
Our staff dinned here yesterday for their birthday present, and loved it.
Barossa and Light Cab Service, bring our customers to Penfolds Magil Estate on a very regular basis.
Thanks for being such a great place!
C. D. (.
Delicious food & fantastic service. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.
M. S.
Great to have a winery in the CBD. Helpful staff and great choice of wines to try. The elevated views are stunning and the single block Magill Estate wines is superb.
S. M.
Top lunch with delicious feed me menu and delightful aged shiraz. Really good outing
T. W.
Food was excellent, just disappointing that I was unable to partake in the we feed you and match the wines with the food $75pp. My husband is a very basic eater, but because it was our 30th wedding Anniversary he decided to take me there for a nice lunch.
We just wanted the $75pp just for me But they said no as it was for 2 people. Did not say on the menu as such. So a bit disappointed. My husband was disppointed for me.
C. N.
We visited the Penfolds location had a tasting which was awesome then went for lunch at the Kitchen. Food was tasty but fell short of expectations and let down by slow service. They appeared to be short of staff. We visited Thursday lunch, the place was 3/4 full.
S. B.
One of the best meals I've had in ages. Delicious food!
R. K.
Would highly recommend this restaurant. Food, service and wine of the highest quality I have experienced. It's not cheap but worth every cent and we will return again without doubt.
R. W.
Epic 4 hour degustation with carefully handcrafted mini courses, "snacks" that will blow your taste buds constructed to show off the matched wines
T. N.
Very nice atmosphere and presentation of brunch platter. Staff in restaurant nice. Cellar staff not very friendly.
E. B.
Nice area, good table service but menu was misleading. The ingredients that were listed were not direct to the actual meal. This is not a 5 star restaurant, I do suggest Mount Lofty House Restaurant it is way better!
D. B.
Brilliant service, food and wines. We are never disappointed.
E. D.
We had the degustation for a birthday dinner. The atmosphere, wine pairings and food were excellent, topped off with an beautiful sunset!
L. T.
An amazing place and amazing staff ,everybody was so helpful and new there stuff and history, a must see place
T. M.
Go to this restaurant. As a past regular at the Restaurant, the Kitchen and tasting room offer the same vista, with brilliant quality food and access to museum wines.
Nothing but the highest praise.
H. L.
Excellent fine dining with degustation menu with incredible service. The non alcoholic drink pairing was actually quite a treat for those of us who didn't want to drink!
N. W.
Yet another delightful dinner. I've been coming here since 2008 and it has consistently been some of the best food and wine I've had in the world.
C. S.
A lovely place for an all round experience. Beautiful views out over Adelaide.
M. W.
What a great place for a coffee. Lovely views inside and out.
H. K.
Every visit is special, from a coffee and cake, a snack to a delicious lunch. You wont be disappointed, everything is lovely particulary the view over Adelaide.
流.
Good wine, good service
S. T.
Great food and amazing wine selections as usual. Highly recommend a Bin 707 if you get the chance!
F. L.
Our "local". Love the quality food, staff and venue.
J. D.
Great wine, great food and excellent service. My wife and I can't wait to come back again.
S.
Food was amazing, great service and of course the wine! I really like the exquisite supply of food and for the price I rate it a 5
S. G.
Delicious friand's & coffee - with spectacular views
T. C.
Wasn't really planning on checking this place out. Stopped by the Sculpture Park just outside of downtown earlier in the day and saw some signage advertising this place. Looked at the Yelp reviews and saw that it is free! Sold.Drove straight out Grand Avenue from the Sculpture Park to the museum through a tonier part of town.
Y. C.
if you want too try that birth year penfolds wine you'd better come here, if they don't have it, it's probably been drunk already
the food is superbly matched with the food and its an experience worth trying and not just once.
S. T.
The perfect Sunday afternoon: a great wine tasting followed by a great snack. Above all, the staff both at the tasting counter and in the Kitchen were unfailingly charming, helpful and well informed.
C. W.
Very enjoyable lunch. Wish it was sans kids...next time just the two of us.
M. S.
Our initial experience at Magill Kitchen Estate was truly tantalising leaving us desiring to come back. Entrees were small but interesting, The mains were a decent size and well garnished and side serves were not on the large end but a reasonable -enough for sharing by to 4 people. We went back for our 3rd visit this week with family and friends (1year after the initial experience) and although the food was still delicious, the serves were so stingy for the asking prices. Even the kids meals left more to be desired in terms of value when compared with most cafe kids menus which would include a drink and dessert - not so here. There was also limited choice ( 3 Items only ). The amount you get for a $10-$12 side dish was only enough to share between 1-2 max persons but unfortunately several of these were a necessary expenditure as the Mains have also dwindled in size. The table service was quite efficient even though we had been prior informed on booking that we could only retain our seats within a 2 hour slot. We went elsewhere for dessert so as not to feel rushed. The views were pleasant enough and perhaps this was largely what we paid for? I would definitely recommend this venue for anyone who enjoys fine heritage ambience, leafy views over city/ vineyards and with plenty money to splash out on diet sized but reasonably delicious portions. I hope that in the future, MKE can improve on the value of their dishes especially the Sides. We don't plan to be back for a while after this recent experience but definitely will test things out again one of these days.
K. L.
Sensational views of the city and excellent food and wine.
M. H.
Wonderful tasting menu with a lovely view over the vineyard. A great spot for lunch.
K. S.
Unbelievable food and wine, everybody should visit Penfolds Magill Estate restaurant at least once in their life, it is really worth 6 stars. 😊
J. E.
Nice food (we had a berry and custard Danish) and loose-leaf tea (I had Barossa Breakfast). Beautiful grounds and venue, and pricing is very reasonable for the area.
B. S.
Great staff, guy with the mustache is awesome. Very nice restaurant, best wines in Australia
T. W.
Love it - my "go to" place when I have interstate or overseas visitors in town. Nice outlook over the city, and so unique having a view out over a vineyard just 5-10 mins from the city!
J. E.
Fantastic food atmosphere and location.
S. W.
Beautifully designed modern restaurant and bar in this heritage winery.
L. J.
Amazing sevice, exquisite wine and really yummy food, against a beautiful backdrop of the picturesque Magill Estate.
G. C.

WOW! Ok so when you pay over $500 each for dinner you should be wowed but we absolutely were. We went with some friends on New Years Eve 2014 and it was absolutely amazing. We love food and wine, and we really booked just to taste the back vintages of the Penfold's wine an opportunity you just don't get. The wine was great, really great, but the food was just as exceptional and the staff were perfect. The night began with champagne on the lawn for sunset, then we were seated in the lovely restaurant. The small restaurant was personal and there was lots of space between the tables. Every table has a great view of the city lights. Each course just got better and better. The opportunity to taste the wines that were on offer was worth the $500 alone. Totally recommend the experience!

Nice place to relx and enjoy wine

Very rude asian tour guides push in when youre being served. Tasting menu is fab.wine is great ( funny that). Could have done better with the architecture. Not sure why won awards, maybe the judges thought it was a clothes shop. Staff great.

Beautiful views and great wine!

The food was mostly excellent. Can't fault the wines of course but the wait staff need a leader that can train them. Also, if your chicken is clearly uncooked don't lecture your guest on sous vide cooking techniques, as they might already be an Internationally famous chef that you are too young to know. Take it back to the kitchen and cook it more! If red/pink chicken won't come off the bone its not cooked! I'll go again for the delicious food though.

2 mains, the size of an entree and 2 glasses of wine at the cheaper end of the scale $97! My wife had a lamb dish where most of what was on the plate was unrendered and inedible fat! We both left hungry! Had to drop into a bakery on the way home. Bit of a tossers place...

Tantalising flavours and beautiful presented food, but way over priced.

Having eaten two weeks ago at Sepia in Sydney, our meal at Magill Estate on Saturday night was far better. Service, food, wine matching, and ambience with generosity and the perfect amount of warm attention from the staff.
