Adelaide's new restaurant has definitely made its mark. I was beyond blown away by the quality of the food, the devotion of the staff to making every little detail perfect, and the uniqueness of their approach.
The food is not only amazing, but the entire experience is a journey. I see big things for this restaurant in the future, they should be very proud of themselves

What a wonderful experience!!!
Credit to Justin James and the team at Restaurant Botanic.
A beautiful meal that was highly technique driven, matched with superb service!
It’s easy to see why Gourmet Traveller gave Restaurant Botanic the no.1 title in SA.
Our experience was approximately 4 hours.
Do yourself a favour. Book. Spend money. Enjoy!

It’s a place for special occasions, what a fantastic charming and very memorable experience. Had the short trail and wine pairings. Feast for the eyes and palate. Loved loved the service and atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back.

Wonderful experience! The service was impeccable (Marcell is a superstar!). Food was amazing, unique with incredible flavours and sensational wine pairings. Can't recommend enough!!
N. T.
Thoroughly deserving of all five stars as the Long Trail was the best degustation I've ever experienced. Food and service were both amazing. I also highly recommend the 'Temperance' non-alcoholic beverage pairing.

Blown away with everything. Been fine dining all over the world and Australia hasn't impressed me for 15 years, was waiting for something like this!!!
Every dish is a suprise and the follow through in flavours is delicious. The interaction with the head chef Justin James and his staff felt so warm and intimate. We felt privileged to be present in this restaurant. Impressed with every dish. The staff vibe is very positive.
L. H.
Game changing use of local ingredients and using all the senses. Highly recommend
D. T.
Had the long trail. Probably one of the best tasting experiences in Adelaide. Would recommend for a fine dining experience.
C. L.
Incredible food, setting and service. We have been twice and consider it worth every single dollar, we didn’t think we could have a better experience than our first visit but the second impressed us even more. The food flavours and presentation are incredible and delicately considered, the wine pairing thoughtful and unique and the service amazing.
Be prepared for a long dining experience - but enjoy every second surrounded by the beautiful greenery of the botanic gardens or by getting a first hand view into a busy kitchen at the chefs table.
Very exciting to see where Chef Justin James and team take this in the future and they should be incredibly proud of themselves!

The reinvention of the Botanic gardens restaurant was much needed and wow has it paid off. Incredible flavours, fabulous surroundings and innovative dishes makes for a great experience. Topped with amazing service this really is one of the best in SA 👏👏👏

A flavour explosion in every course. Matching beverages and incredibly well crafter menu are a marriage made in heaven.

We had the 5 course degustation menu with paired wine and was a little nervous at first whether we would leave feeling full as the appetisers were very small! Turned out to be plenty of food and the courses got better and better as they come out. The trout and duck dishes were all standouts! The wine pairing was excellent and really added to the experience. This was a highlight of our culinary week in Adelaide and would highly recommend for a special occasion!

A group of 15 of us celebrated a friend's 30th birthday here with the 5 course lunch for $95 pp. We were seated across two tables as it was a large group. Every dish was so beautifully presented and had such fresh flavours. The waiters were very attentive and friendly. One guest had a no seafood dietary requirement and he had his own menu printed and placed on his plate. We really appreciated this level of detail. They were also aware of one other guest being pregnant, which they catered for, except once they forgot to serve her a well done steak, so they swiftly took it back to the chef for further cooking. Besides from that everyone was very professional and kindly took group photos for us. Beautiful location, great natural lighting from the full length glass windows. It was a lovely stroll into and out of the restaurant.

I’ve dined at the restaurant on a couple occasions now and am pleased to say both times have been a very enjoyable experience. The food is expertly crafted with seasonal harvested ingredients that provide delicate and delicious items with such good flavours. I’d recommend the set menu and allowing the chef to showcase the kitchen skills. The staff are friendly, very attentive and well trained. Highly recommend!

Astonishing meal, awesome service and a brave new Botanic - Awesome at every turn.
If you manage to arrange your booking at the same time as Luminate, you have the finest dining experience imaginable

This was our first visit since the rebranding/renovation and it didn't disappoint. It has a much more modern feel both in the decor and the dishes. It still uses the local produce but the flavours and presentation were very innovative.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch here on the weekend that totally blew us away! Not only was the food stunningly presented, as fresh as can be (foraged from the surrounding Gardens) and an explosion of flavours in every mouthful, but the service and ability to accommodate specific (and quite restrictive) dietary requirements on the spot was a site to behold! The chefs came out to work meticulously through individual ingredients to ensure we all enjoyed our meals. Each meal was delivered by the chefs themselves and explained in bamboozling detail. Nothing was too much trouble and the atmosphere was just gorgeous sitting nestled within the Gardens. Being able to watch the chefs prepare the meals in the open setting was truly impressive to see them at work.
We'll be back without a doubt.
A must for any foodie to experience!

Nice place to hangout with friends and family. Bought an ice coffee from Simpson kiosk which is located behind botanical garden restaurant. You can also head to the Adelaide zoo from the here.

Did the Festival of Food for lunch. Beautiful food in a serene environment with rain drizzling down. There was also a Degustation course available as well which looked very tempting, but we were short on time and not hungry enough to attempt. The only con, it wasn't completely filling considering the price paid or having it for dinner or if you have a bigger appetite (that's after us ordering an extra side dish)
J. X. L.
One of Adelaide's top fine dinning restaurant headed by Chef of the Year 2017, Paul Baker. We went for lunch during festival of food 2018 for a 10-course tasting menu. The food was fantastic in flavour and so artistic in presentation. Highly recommended.
M. K.
Absolutely THE BEST dining experience I’ve had for many years! The staff were fantastic, great wine (our selection) and the food!! OMG 👍
H. L.
Overall a very good dining experience here, but we felt that for the price, the food should've have been more than just "good", but rather more "amazing".
Salted scallop, shaved abalone: quite tasty and fresh. Good combo of flavours.
Cold smoked Hiramasa kingfish, sheep's yoghurt: fairly light flavours, but maybe a bit bland.
Roast pork loin, lamb bacon xo: this was quite a delicious dish. Wish there was a bit more crackling though!
Grilled zucchini flowers, brown rice miso, endive: this was an excellent dish! We loved the zucchini and the grilled smokey flavours 🤤🤤.
Mayura Station Wagyu flank, liquorice brisket: good dish, but again not super amazing.
Pan fried Robarra, pipis, sweet and sour carrot: very nicely done fish. The succulents were a great addition!
Bone marrow roasted potatoes: amazing potatoes 😍😍.
Fig leaf ice cream, caramelised fig, frangipane, meringue, fig leaf oil: super tasty and creative dessert dish! The fig leaf ice cream was so tasty!
.
Whole lemon parfait, toasted coconut, lemon balm cream, lemon verbena: a little bit underwhelming/bland. Looked better than it tasted
K. P.
We had a lovely stroll through here with our youngest grandson enjoying the space & exploring. Highly recommend our beautiful botanical Gardens.

For a special occasion this restaurant is a great choice. Wonderful, caring, friendly service and absolutely fresh and varied servings. White wine list just a bit thin and not everyone would like a degustation meal but nevertheless a near perfect afternoon.
B. B.
Had the 7 course degustation lunch and the food was incredible. Every course was exquisite really tasty. I reckon my favourite would have to be the barramundi dish, but oy marginal over the rest of the dishes. The service was exceptional glass was never empty and explained each dish to perfection. All in all was a great experience well worth the every cent.

The most beautiful meal experience I have ever partaken in.
Took my partner there for his birthday on Sunday 28th November 21.
The ‘short path’ we both chose and each meal came out was so vibrant and an experience for our pallets, we sat at the ‘chefs table’ so we had the added enjoyment of chef interaction. Because I was GF / coeliac, they took extra care and even made on site a few components I could eat. :)
The waitress we had was phenomenal, checking in after each dish, extremely attentive.
For the final dish because my partner had mentioned it was his birthday they prepared a special dish with stunning calligraphy saying ‘ happy birthday’ on his plate in chocolate. Really made our afternoon.
If there were Michelin star restaurants in australia, this would be one.
One thing that critics won’t mention outside of the atmosphere of being wholly surrounded by the botanic gardens of Adelaide is, their toilets MY LORD.
You walk in and the bright day turns to pitch night with ambient bush sounds of an evening on country, the toilets had marble counter tops adorned with fragrant candles that transported to you the outback. Hand towels were cotton and placed within tree bark. And each entrance area had statement flora to tie it all in.
Will be coming back here as soon as I can afford it!
S. M.
On a different level to ever other fine dining restaurant in SA, easily surpasses Penfolds, only Sol comes close. Easily the best experience, service, food, wine, and atmosphere of any restaurant in the state, bar none.
G.
First, I would like to thank the staff who had been absolutely amazing. We felt welcomed even before walking in.
The service is, together with the location, what makes it really special. I think we had the best table of the restaurant and the fact that they personalised the menu to wish happy birthday, is very clever and we appreciated it very much.
You really have the feeling that they are genuinely happy to provide you with the best and attentive service ever, and this is what they actually do.
In regards to the food, the presentation is beautiful, but, especially for the vegetarian options, the flavours are a bit bland, (the desserts are delicious tho!). We loved our complimentary entrees they were a great plus.
Thank you everyone for the fantastic experience ❤️
C. L.
Exordinary food and services. Great menu with using local produce from the Botanic Garden. Lovely dining experience with a peaceful garden view.
D. P.
Beautiful place to be, even when it's summer, canopies of gorgeous green trees & plants makes a wonderful shaded walk, a serene atmosphere of water features, sculptures, rainforest, wildlife, flowers & family friendly eating areas. A perfect day to spend relaxing with family & friends.
F. S.
A friend recommended me this place, took my boyfriend out for a romantic dinner. had lotta fun, great ambience, fresh and tasty food, i enjoyed my yellow fin tuna and dark chocolate fondant. apart from their slow service i enjoyed my evening. would be coming back again for sure.
K. Y.
Impressive & Enjoyable.
Long story short - It's worth it & we wish we'd been sooner.
Ample parking on Plane Tree Drive right outside the Friend's Gates entrance, followed by a very short walk to the restaurant through those gates.
Staff were friendly but respectful, attentive yet professional.
The environment was comfortable, the atmosphere was great.
Food served was primarily made with locally sourced ingredients. Incredibly complex, interesting and undeniably delicious.
Highly recommend.
C. D.
Food was amazing and so was the service. Lots of small dishes, each bursting with flavour and textures. Definitely a must for foodies!
J. W.
Excellent food and service, a delightful experience all round! Some wonderfully different flavours and meals!
A. V.
Best dining experience ever. Great location to people watch whilst you eat. Food was amazing and staff were super friendly. Advised the staff we had some time commitments so they altered their menu for us so we could enjoy what they had to offer and also make it to our event. Definitely will return to try their second larger degustation!
J. B.
Food was great, good selection for everyone (adults and children) service was quick and friendly. Setting was beautiful as always
T. V.
My friend and I spent the about 3hours at the botanic garden and had a great time and taking many photos
v. g.
Fabulous experience! Very innovative, creative and highly sophisticated. A delightful variety of flavours and textures, all exquisitely presented.
H. B.
Such a wonderful dining experience - for both the taste buds and the eyes. Each dish was interesting, beautifully presented, with balanced unique flavours using locally sourced foods (some of them straight out of the botanic gardens!). Impeccable service from knowledgeable staff and the newly refurbished decor is calming and welcoming. Pricey but worth it.
M. B.
Very different food and the new style is very nice and its great to see the people who make and prep the food come out and serve it to you
S. H.
Creative degustation menu in the stunning botanic garden setting. Expensive but worth it for a celebration. Very attentive staff. Good wine list.
S. G.
WOW! I love fine dinning and have high expectations when trying somewhere new and always am comparing to my favourite places. I was blown away the food exceeded my expectations, now i have a new favourite place! The flavour combinations in every dish were really amazing down to the fine detail. The service was flawless, so professional and friendly too. Will be going back very soon!!!
B. C.
A culinary delight. Our lunch selection was a three hour taste-and sip wander through an innovative, vegetarian meadow of flavours with a detailed running commentary from Jarrad. He was host rather than waiter. A dozen or more mini-serves matched perfectly with teas, wines and beverages to tantalise the taste buds. Top of the range; justifiably expensive and well worth it. Thank you.
l.
We went there for an beautiful engagement party.
lovely environment. Helpful and friendly staff. Fanatic food.
B. D.
Lovely place to unwind during Adelaide Fringe. Standard fare in terms of food and drink but the surroundings are delightful. Overhanging trees and a duck pond provide almost endless entertainment for kids and watching parents corral said kids is almost as much fun too
R. B.
Another foodie gem for Adelaide. This is a top tier experience of flavours and textures. Orana and the Cube may be gone, and I would place this in the same company. Let's hope this stays for a while.
T. W.
The staff were friendly which is always nice. I ordered a meat and potato pie which was tasty, but what I REALLY LIKED was being able to have a glass of wine with my meal. The wine was $8 a glass but I was enjoying the moment so much I had 3 ;-)
Sitting there overlooking the pond was so tranquil, loved it
F. N.
The perks of a park in the city is that you get to enjoy the flora and fauna in between the hustle bustle of life. Ideal wedding garden in mind.

Best experience I ever had in South Australia. Absolutely love it 💪🏻 Chef J.James 👨🍳
L. W.
This restaurant was nothing short of a dining experience for the tastebuds. We had a set menu with 7 different, but all well presented, delicious and perfectly cook, dishes and it was fantastic! Set within the Botanic Gardens the view is very picturesque and the staff are all professional and detailed when explaining each dish they bring out. The chef came out to have a chat afterwards which was great as well. Comes with a price tag but it's all quality and very enjoyable.
L. T.
There is a reason it's too of Gourmet Travellers best restaurants Adelaide. The creativity, presentation, flavours and service are next level.

Brilliant 5 course lunch today at the Botanic Gardens Restaurant under the auspices of Chef Justin. I have been dining at this restaurant since it first opened. The degustation menu was always good but now it is superb. The use of locally sourced, seasonal produce is outstanding. Each course is a taste sensation and the presentation of the dishes is artistry. You won’t leave hungry! The service is attentive and the setting within the Botanical Gardens is very atmospheric. Great value for money. One of the best dining experiences you can have in Adelaide!
A. P.
Wow, something you need to do at least once in your life, is it cheap no but the food is A1 the experience is incredible watching these chefs do their magic and present flavours that are beyond imaginable.
The flavours I assure you will make your mouth stand to attention. The respect these chefs give to the head chef shows the respect he and his food commands.
All I can say is thank you
E. H. O.
The food was great. It was a fine dining experience with innovative dishes full of flavour using native local ingredients. This is a welcome replacement after the closure of Orana. The wine list was reasonably good. We brought our own wines as they allowed BYO as long as the wines we brought were not on their list. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I was told a $50 corkage fee per bottle at the beginning but was charged $70 at the end. When I queried the bill, the waiter went off to check with his boss and came back to say it was $70. The $20 is a small amount (relative to the food bill) but it was an annoyingly unprofessional way to finish our night.
P. M.
We booked the restaurant for a degustation dinner for 50 people and were blown away by the quality and innovation of the food, which was served by wonderful staff in stunning surroundings. The events team made this night a huge success and highly memorable experience. The new chef is brilliant and I couldn't speak more highly of this venue.
B. V.
Spent 4 hours if not more here as we had their big degustation menu. What an experience! very lovely and interesting food, superb wine and most importantly outstanding service by their sommelier and waiters. We had a memorable lunch.

Special anniversary night for us, had lovely degustation. Drinks excellent, service attentive. Thanks guys
J. W.
Best dining experience in Adelaide, and gets better every time you go.
M. E.
Delightful. So many exotics. Wonderful Madagascar pavilion.
A. N.
The view into the gardens was very pleasant and Hayden was nothing but helpful. We both enjoyed our choice of breakfast and shared a pot of english breakfast tea. Going by the standard of our breakfast can imagine that lunch would be the same. For the quality pricing is very fair. Highly recommended.
N. K.
Me and my Husband had lunch here today....sort of a belated birthday celebration after the lockdown.... we both LOVED the food and the pairing of the wine....We had the long trail degustation with alcohol pairing.... I have to say, of all the places we've tried i.e. Hentley Farm, Orana, Windy Point, D'renberg's Verandah, Magil estate and a whole lot of other restaurants in SA, this is one of the best restaurants we've ever been to.... it's not just about the amazing food, but the wine pairing was simply mind blowing....especially the umami tasting sake and the delicious vermouth, was simply perfect! We sat at the chef's table and watching the head chef working his magic was an experience we'll never forget!! 100% for service and 100% for delicious food and wine!! A definite must try!
K. &. L. L.
My fiancé and I went for dinner tonight with high expectations as we read amazing reviews. We were still blown away! There was a slight hiccup during service of the earlier part of our dinner but the restaurant manager, Luca, absolutely turned it around for us. The service was amazing, and the food easily comparable to many hatted restaurants in Melbourne and Sydney. We'll definitely be back!
H. B.
Excellent, excellent, excellent.
A feast on the eyes and for the palate. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Not overly attentive, just right in my opinion.
Will definitely go back here again.
Loved my 5 course tasting menu with accompanying wines.
S. H.
Stunning location, impeccable service, unique menu
A. S.
Lovely little spot to sit and relax with a bite to eat and something to drink while watching the birds and the world go by.
Staff there were very friendly and polite. 🙂
P. K.
We go to the Botanic Gardens every every year for a girls Xmas lunch, this year due to COVID restrictions we went in the NY. The restaurant was flexible the staff friendly & professional. One of our party was unwell & an ambulance had to be called before we really even started lunch, (nothing related to the meal) the staff were incredible they were caring, assisted with guiding the ambulance, bringing water, blankets, checking on us all. They adapted the whole menu for us, did not charge us for the people who left & bought us extra courses.
They continued to check upon us, it was an awesome service & the food, setting & wine was incredible as always. Thank you Roula
M. C.
Wonderful experience. Astounding food and truly great service.
R. O.
A beautifully curated experience. The newly renovated space is gorgeous and all of our hosts were both attentive and at ease - clearly an environment where authenticity is valued.
G. B.
At the moment only the cafe is open, but it was lovely to sit under the trees beside the lake drinking delicious coffee and enjoying a light lunch from the cafe. Families, couples and solitary diners occupied the other tables and the atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed.
S. P.
To start with, the service is top-notch. We got the best table in the house. All staff were an absolute delight to interact with and the food was simply delicious. The ingredients, service and location makes this place on of the best restaurants in Adelaide and this place does full justice to it. Worth every second, penny and moment.
C. M.
Faultless food and service. Every meal of my wife and my 4 course lunch was spot on. Great flavour combinations and presentation along with friendly and attentive staff. Amazing location. My wife and I have wonderful memories of our wedding reception at this venue 23 years ago. Thank you for providing us with another memory at the Botanic Gardens restaurant
K. J.
We had a fantastic wedding reception here in 2017 and have since been back. The food is always fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The chef has been most accommodating to us and waiting staff all friendly and attentive. Cant understand why this place wasn't packed out on the Friday we went there. Food was sublime and for once the service was of a standard commensurate with the food. Will definitely be going back.
E. M.
We booked for Mothers Day lunch and the venue was perfect for our family. The food was excellent and portion sizes just right. The service was outstanding- forgot to warn about a family members food allergy and they created special dishes amongst the chaos of Mothers Day. The service was thoughtful and attentive and very professional. It is difficult to choose restaurants that will suit the needs of different generations, but this was a standout and the three generations present will all recommend it most highly
J. C.
Amazing food and service. All the staff were so kind and friendly and very helpful. Value for money was very good. A great lunch for our 8 year anniversary followed by a walk in the gardens.
A. H.
We couldn’t rate this experience highly enough. Everything was sublime. So much more than dining, a total culinary experience. Congratulations to the chef (s) GM , maître d’hôtel et al. First class 🙏🏻
R. G.
We enjoyed a 4 course dinner there last night. Every single meal was fresh, absolutely delicious and so beautiful on the plate. The waiters were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Inside there is a calming ambience and what a stunning view outside onto the gardens. Would highly recommend Botanic Gardens Restaurant and we will definitely be back!
C. E.
The 7 course tasting menu was just amazing, cannot rave about the food enough. It's a must have experience, especially with the wine flight. Staff were fantastic & very professional, 5 star service next to none. The only bad thing I can say is that the venue itself had an unpleasant smell when we first walked in. Was rather stale and musty. Needs some open windows.
L. B.
Fantastic food. Had the 5 plate session on Friday night and paired with some cocktails. The servers were attentive and we felt like we could stay as long as we needed too to enjoy the full experience of our anniversary.
D. A.
Beautiful location, particularly for lunch when you are able to look out to the gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 courses. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Special thanks also to the friendly and attentive staff who made our lunch even more enjoyable. The only downside would be that the wine list is a little expensive.
C. R.
Had lunch here for a wedding anniversary. The food was excellent - the different flavours in each dish worked really well. The service was fabulous - the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the food being served.
It is not a cheap lunch - but this is to be expected as this is fine dining. The location is really good too - it was nice exploring the grounds after a great meal.
E. B.
Anthony was fantastic and made sure my 60 th birthday dinner was lovely. My niece Kylie and her hubby Adam in England send voucher as gift for hubby and I to enjoy. Awesome job and setting by the hard working team.
W. H.
Amazing and imaginative Australian food using lots of local ingredients, including herbs from the Botanic Gardens, producing wonderful taste sensations. The service was good and unhurried. My friend and I opted for the lunch menu, now I want to return to have the degustation menu, with the paired wines.
G. B.
Our celebration at the Botanic Gardens Restaurant was memorable. The food was interesting and delicious, introduced by our waiter. The view of the gardens as evening fell was beautiful. Recommended.
R. W.
decent food but don't take a birthday cake, it get super awkward when they don't know what to do with it. "we don't do birthday cake" will be the response.
L. T.
The food here was delicious, everyone enjoyed what they'd ordered. The wagu beef was divine. The service wasn't as good as the food - it took a long time to be offered water let alone any other drinks. Drinks appeared to be fairly priced. Overall, we would return.
P. K.
Fantastic dining experience every. single. time.
M. G.
Amazing food, and lovely and highly-professional staff. We had our wedding there, which they facilitated with unexpected flexibility and heavily discounted prices. Definitely the best spot for a restaurant in Adelaide. If the prices were slightly cheaper, we'd eat there every day!
L. N.
We had a fantastic wedding reception here in 2017. The food was so delicious, fresh and beautifully prepared. We have since been back for our anniversary celebration and have enjoyed every bite. Excellent service by friendly waiting staff and a very accommodating chef! We can highly recommend this lovely restaurant.
s. m.
Food reasonably priced. Seating outside near water. Quite pleasant
P. S.
Great place to just wander around and enjoy the scenery. We took a bunch of photos and the weather was great. Something for free, go around the lake end up at the zoo and walk back along the river back to the Festival Theater.
A. B.
We went here for our anniversary dinner. It was expensive but totally worth every cent. We didn't feel rushed and the food came out at a steady pace. The paired wines were really good.
K. W.
Food came out way too slowly. I went there on a Friday lunch time, and the restaurant was quite busy. The food, I cannot fault, it was tasty and cooked well. However, it took a bit over 2.5 hours to get through a snack, an entree and a main course. In terms of service, one staff was amazing and patient, while another was borderline rude. A bit difficult to rate as it was mostly the experience our group weren't happy with, not the food.
M. M.
Fantastic setting and the best food. Will be coming back again. The service was really good and made you feel so welcomed.
A. K.
Very fresh current menu. It started off good and finished off excellent. The fig dessert is our favourite. We had the tasting menu. Excellent staff and beautiful setting. Excellent for a nice afternoon. Beautiful food. Good job guys.
S. F.
This delightfully appointed restaurant in an old garden rotunda in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens is a perfect spot for lunch. A sophisticated menu using many ingredients harvested from the gardens it showcases beautiful local produce. A very approachable fine dining experience that offers different dining options to suit your mood, appetite and wallet- a 3 course, 4 course or full degustation menu with wine pairings available. A good wine list with offerings at different price points. Excellent service and very knowledgeable waiters. It is elegantly approachable with gorgeous views of the gardens. I couldn’t fault it.
D. W.
Imagine experiencing the most sublime tastes in food and wine in the midst of Adelaide's botanical haven. Brilliant staff, thank you!
E. X.
This restaurant brings so many things to the table. There is a thought process that goes into each dish and delivers a surprise each time. Service is great and the somilier will match your wines with personality. You are missing out if you don't try it. Book. Now.
K. K.
Impeccable service, clever and delightful food in a gorgeous setting. What more could you want? Many dishes, including some of the cocktails, use herbs grown on site in the gardens, which is special. Be sure to book: they fill up.
J. C.
Good food, lovely staff and service was on point. One of the best restaurants I've been to in Adelaide. I would recommend it for a lovely date or special occasions of any kind. The atmosphere was astounding.
S. T.
Fine dining at an affordable price. 3 course a la carte for $75. The dishes feature local produce, prepared and presented with style and skill. And the staff are knowledgeable and helpful to a fault. We went for an evening meal which has the added pleasure of walking through the botanic gardens at night.
S. R.
Wandering to the restaurant through the shady gardens that perfumed the way. Sitting down to a brilliant fusion of native and traditional foods with excellent service. Looking into the beauty that is the gardens. Then weaving through nature to return to normal life feeling refreshed. It is worth the journey to experience.
S. P.
We went to the cafe style part around the back.
Friendly staff, Lovley both indoor and outdoor seating available.
We sampled some delicious pies with both your standard and unusual flavours, a very nice pumpkin soup and hot chocolate.
However beware the marshmallow theiving birds flitting about, luckily staff were happy to replace the stolen goods .
R. P.
Great food and love how you can be inside or if you Iike outside you are close to water and the lovely views.
M. S.
My mum and I recently enjoyed a spectacular lunch here. The four courses were inventive and wonderfully executed, showcasing produce from the Adelaide Hills and the botanic gardens themselves. The service was flawless and the ambience great.
J. F.
We were a party of six, having dinner as part of the Festival of Food. You'll need to book beforehand if coming for dinner as the Botanic Gardens are closed and a security guard has the names of diners at the gate.
The staff were very knowledgeable with a high attention to detail. They were on the ball all night, even with a full restaurant.
Food wise, most of the courses were interesting with flavours a little different to the usual.
I'd be happy to dine here again.
T. C.
Fabulous food done really well. Amazing service.
T. P.
Consistent in delivering excellent service and great quality of food. EVERY TIME. Compliments to the Chef and floor staff at BGR. Shout out to Jai from BGR for always taking excellent care of our table. He's definitely an asset to the team.
G.
Delicious, interesting food I've never eaten before. Fresh ingredients. Great service. Gorgeous view.
R. K.
A nice place to eat and enjoy im a pleasant environment. There message is "The multi-award winning Botanic Gardens Restaurant is a heritage rotunda with a fresh contemporary interior, spectacular garden and pond views, located within the beautiful Adelaide Botanic Gardens. The enchanting restaurant is headed up by acclaimed chef Paul Baker. Modern Australian cuisine, the ever-changing seasonal menu is a well balanced, innovative and features ethically farmed and sustainable South Australian produce, fresh vegetables and herbs harvested daily from the nearby 51-hectare Botanic Gardens kitchen garden. In an effort to minimise food wastage, the restaurant follows a “garden to plate” philosophy. Enjoy a stunning degustation style lunch or dinner".
V. I.
It is very comfortable place for people who want to relax, walk around the gorgeous and beautiful roses. No that only, but very great place when it's hot. U know what, "SAY HI TO BOTANIC GARDEN," and U will tell me it's good or not for you to be there.
A. D.
What a lovely location for a romantic dinner.... I would recommend booking a little earlier so the gardens can be enjoyed in the twilight.
Expensive dinner but great service and local garden grown produce is used in the dishes.

My best botanic garden in Australia.
L. S.
Another tasty toasted roasted vegetable sandwich. Never disappoints!
L. H.
My girlfriends and I went there for lunch. It's very relaxing. Prices comparable with cafes in general. Food and coffe taste good. Then you can relax and enjoy the amazingness of our gardens or have your own picnic.
P. P.
Excellent food and service.
R. P.
The food was uber delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was fully booked and there was a happy buzz of customers enjoying themselves. The meal was unhurried and flowed at a gentle pace.
T. F.
Great place to chill out and have a coffee while surrounded by nature. Beautiful.
J. L.
Delicious and elegant food. Service was excellent. A special place to mark or celebrate a special occasion. Definitely one of the best fine dining restaurants in South Australia.
J. K.
Enjoyed 3 courses for $70pp. Good food and value for money. Staff were lovely although a little short staffed maybe as they were running around a bit.
T. C.
Went to the 1900 Farm Historic Dinner at Living History Farms last night. What a wonderful way to spend an evening, experience some history and have a wonderful meal! The evening started with a tractor ride out to the 1900 farmhouse.

Our experience at the Botanic Gardens Restaurant was great! The food was amazing and the presentation absolutely gorgeous it was nearly a pity we had to eat it. Will definitely will be going back..
P. C.
Food and service second to none. The beetroot tart was amazing and the lamb loin melted in my mouth. Cant even begin to describe how delicious the chestnut desert was!!
M. P.
There were 6 of us and we absolutely loved this restaurant set amongst the greenery of the Adelaide Botanical Gardens. The food was fabulous and the service excellent. Would go again in a heartbeat.
C. G.
Absolutely amazing food. Credit the the Chefs and staff
M. I.
Meh. Oysters that didn't taste fresh, odd flavour combinations that didn't work. Just not worth $220 for a couple (with wine)--for lunch! Nice setting, though.
D. W.
Great spot. Only grabbed a coffee but it was an inviting and friendly atmosphere. It presented as a great place for lunch with friends on warm spring day. On my 'to do' list
A. H.
Lovely gardens and lots to see
H. L.
Good food
M. N. P.
Fantastic service by the French eye candy they've employed! They've also generous sized snacks and sides here. We had the Festival of Food menu.
N. R.
Beautiful setting. We had the degustation menu, which was insanely good. Excellent service made it a beautiful way to spend Saturday lunch.
P. B.
Very nice venue to have a well made coffee and cake in the beautiful grounds. Excellent staff and all what I expect when in wonderful south Australia.
R. A.
Totally amazing.... Would be awesome to go for a picnic with any valued family member be it grand parents, children partners.
Just beautiful.
A. B.
We went here for our anniversary dinner. It was expensive but totally worth every cent. We didn't feel rushed and the food came out at a steady pace. The paired wines were really good.
M. G.
Amazing food, and lovely and highly-professional staff. We had our wedding there, which they facilitated with unexpected flexibility and heavily discounted prices. Definitely the best spot for a restaurant in Adelaide. If the prices were slightly cheaper, we'd eat there every day!
M. S.
Great food and very friendly staff. It is a restaurant for special occasions but in a lovely area of the Botanic Gardens in Adelaide.
K. K.
Impeccable service, clever and delightful food in a gorgeous setting. What more could you want? Many dishes, including some of the cocktails, use herbs grown on site in the gardens, which is special. Be sure to book: they fill up.
J. F.
We were a party of six, having dinner as part of the Festival of Food. You'll need to book beforehand if coming for dinner as the Botanic Gardens are closed and a security guard has the names of diners at the gate. …
C. E.
The 7 course tasting menu was just amazing, cannot rave about the food enough. It's a must have experience, especially with the wine flight. Staff were fantastic & very professional, 5 star service next to none. The only bad thing I can say …
M. P.

Really beautiful place with extraordinary food but the only problem with this place is the price. For small portions you will need too pay an amount which is not worth it.
R. L.
Sensational food and experience. Don't look at the bill at the end... just pay and work it out later.
W. C.

Chef Justin James has put so much effort into each dish that he is well above the standard of three Michelin stars. Here are 18 dishes for fall. Every season has a theme for the occasion, and even the menu changes every two months. Come back in winter.
