A. O. (.It was an interesting experience cooking on the stone grill. Chips were crunchy. Steak was a little bit chewy even if rare or fully cooked but was fine. Kids enjoyed it. Salad might need a bit more dressing. Decent sized serving.
M. M.Took my daughter here for lunch and it was delicious. We had 3 different areas/menus to choose from and the selection was was awesome. We opted for the cheaper meals but they certainly didn't disapoint.

J. N.Came here for a political function a couple weeks back. Staff was really friendly and nice, the food was awesome (those arancini balls were out of this world) and overall the place felt like it was really well thought out and looked fantastic. Definitely a place I'd recommend, absolutely can't go wrong.

Went later to try and procure a bottle of wine. Long story short, young man (poss Spice??) Went out of his way for me. I quickly got my wine ( was residing at Eos,) was able to enjoy my in room meal with my wife in comfort. Many thanks to that young man and Strathmore. Customer service IS important, people like this young man show how customer service should be! Sadly, a dying breed!
J. W.It's a great venue and our go to for work functions or special events. Upstairs bit more formal but downstairs recently remodeled is good for casual.
We generally go for the 'Stonegrill', it's always a winner (wear dark clothing for oil splashes!) Everything but especially this is well priced considering CBD dining it's great value.
We've had chicken/seafood/beef/lamb and vegetarian options on the self cook hot granite stones and ask have been well received.
Although the meat itself and flavour have been 5 star, I've gone for 4 because my choices always seem to be quite grisly, which has put a downer on my personal experiences, but it's good enough that we keep going back and would heartily recommend it to others as well.

M. P.Stone grilled steak was great - you can cook it just how you like it. I"m not sure whose idea the "cheesecake" was, but if I wanted a pile of unflavoured cream cheese with glaced cherries on top, I'd do that at home. Awful. That one needs a re-think.

T.Called in for a quick beer. I wanted to try a West End on tap so I ordered a Pint. I'm sure the sizes of beers in Adelaide are different to other states as a pint here doesn't appear to be 500ml.
I just saw a sign saying imperial pints so that's the difference.
Anyway this pub is big and loud inside, there is a gambling area, a main bar and verandah bar.
Its in a handy location as the main railway station is across the road. And there's happy hour Mon - Friday. I just need to make sure I order an imperial pint in future!
L. H.Never really cooked my own food at the table but that was sooogoooood. Every piece cooked to perfection exactly the way i wanted clean and relax atmosphere. Service quick and easy food very fresh and very good value. Had the rump on the stone grill my boys the beef snitzel and chicken breast cooked on the stone grill

If you miss your train why not stop by the Strathmore Hotel and have a snack. The staff are friendly and good place to meet up with friends. Get the Eat Club Ap and maybe you can avail a 30% discount on occasion. Well worth it.

A. K.Went to strathmore for coffee and desert,at 10.20 pm. They were extremely helpful and let us still get desert even though it was late. The two deserts were very nice. Espresso creme brûlée and Oreo cheesecake were delicious. Thank you so much we had just been to Jessica Mauboy concert at Adelaide oval and this finished our night perfectly.👍😀

A. R.Tables were crowded in, much closer than I've seen since covid started, and full. Noise levels were high. Food portions were small, but tasty. Choice of beers and wines was also good. Service was a reasonable speed despite how busy it was - about 20 minutes wait. Decor was a kind of retro industrial style - exposed brick and metal beams. It wasn't bad, but there are many places nearby that do it better.

Stone cooking sets them aside from other local venues, very quick with stone cook as the meal is on your table in around 5 min. Then you gave to cook it, but all good, it keeps tge steak hot all to tge last bite as well as keeping chips warm to the last one😜
T. H.Unrecognisable inside from a couple of years ago after a massive rebuild. Cafe 129 downstairs with a range of food options and upstairs slightly more restaurant less pub. The balcony is now shared - half bar, half dining. Signature stonegrill steak is still there, pub grub, pizza.
Plenty of tap beers. Happy Hour 4-6 or longer weekdays.

M. J.Salt and pepper squid with salad was good and crispy. Came with lots of mayo and a type of sweet sauce with sesame seeds. Rump steak was alright, that cut is the cheapest cut after all. It tends to be on the chewy and tough side. Cooking it on the stonegrill to your liking was the fun part. Be prepared to take a big whiff of all the smoke while it sizzles. The herb crumbed barramundi was tender and paired up well with the pumpkin salad. Christmas pudding was too overcooked, too hard. Ice cream tasted like it was from the supermarket tub.
K. A.What a great Engagement party the Strathmore helped us put on last Friday. Thanks to the team there! All staff were really accommodating and so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend this as a function centre and my nephew is now having his 21st there. A great setup and looks amazing since the renovation. Cheers to the Strath!

My partner and I have been here twice, in the short space of time that we've been in Adelaide holidaying, we loved the real live tree in the middle of the (Beer garden/ Smokers section) and I want the pizza oven, that is in their Kitchen.
They mix a really nice Bourbon and Coke at the Bar here
B. N.New renovations upstairs looks great. The open kitchen is a nice touch and the wine list is bang on for top shelf pub grub. The glass wine display in the middle of the room looks great. The only small annoyance is the amount of downstairs noise that filters up near the kitchen/southern side of the restaurant. Made conversation a bit hard to hear, but all in all a beautifully executed renovation 👍

The paper straws were awful - I have had much better quality paper / sustainable straws elsewhere, (please check out the bamboo or wheat straws management please) - your straws just fell apart with very little use. Local and imported beers as well as all the J's (Jimmy, Johnny, Jack) as well Canadian Club and many other spirits too.
A Beer Garden with a fire. The Strathmore Hotel also has a gaming room and smoking room off of the Gaming room.
Toilets are located both in the Gaming room and by the Beer Garden and of course up-stairs in the Restaurant as well.
The Restaurant has lift access and also has an open rooftop verandah.

R. G.If you like steaks and enjoy stone grill then the Strath will suit you. The beef burger was very underwhelming. Strangely compacted patty. Not chargrilled. Not succulent. Cold burger bun. The beef schnitzel was literally as thin as paper. Worst we've ever seen. Pork loin looked delicious. Wood Oven pizza popular. Really good service and bar snacks for a catch up conveniently located across from Adelaide Railway Station and other transport services catering to the CBD.

M. D.The newly renovated cafe has a great casual feel, although it gets pretty rowdy even with civid restrictions. Hot rock steak was good, but the rump was sinewy and a bit tough. Good selection of beers at the bar.

J. B.Great place for a beer before the cricket or footy. Food was good but I spent an extra 6 dollars to have prawns added to my gnocchi and got 3 prawns in the whole dish. They tasted nice but were certainly not worth 2 bucks each.
M. S.Ordered the salmon. Not the dish I should of ordered as it was the size of a kids meal, a slice of grilled salmon with an accompanying 1/4 of a capsicum with rice and nuts packed into it. No where near enough for someone like me. Tasty just no where near what I would consider a meal. Time to find something else to eat....

S. B. (.Good fish n chips, crunchy delicious batter. It was loud inside, many folks enjoying a night out close to public transport, so a lot of drinks flowing last night, Sat 1 Aug. Strathmore has always been a safe choice for a drink and/or meal!
J. M.Service is great!!! The unique hot stone meal option is very unique and a must try. Your meat comes out raw and you cook your steak to your liking as you enjoy your meal best part is every bite is fresh and hot. Don't forget about dessert that is also amazing!!!
G. W.Upgrading now finished since my Xmas visit last year, I am impressed with the outdoor/indoor atmosphere on the second floor. Brilliant service. Would have liked tohave been able to sit at large round table to converse with as many friends as possible but they don't have them here.The MAJOR downfall is the street noise, in particular those damned trams that sound like a swarm of Harley Davidsons on the move.
K. H.They are in the middle of a major Reno at the moment, so service is limited to the Balcony area. They are doing quite a good job, considering their limitations. We had a quick meal mid week and it was quite ok. Three schnitzels and I had salt and pepper squid salad. All we quite good and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly.

J.I can't fault the food at all, the soft shell crab was superb and the gnocchi was very good. When I went to do an after dinner wee, one of the chefs emerged from the stall and quickly (like 1-2 seconds) washed his hands without using soap. That was a bit off-putting, but luckily I had already finished my food. Either way, 5 stars. Would return.

The servers were amazing giving my guests drinks on arrival and then continuously topping them up through the night. Got to play my own play list and give my own speech with their microphone. They were so accommodating all night and through the initial process of organising everything. Tamara made it so easy throughout the whole thing. I. C.Good pokie machines and none of them were unusable with distancing restrictions... but quite lazy with the whole covid approach. Most venues are having people sign in at the cashier and i felt it was quite irresponsible being so lax with the register simply left at the door as some sort of voluntary/optional thing when it is quite clearly an absolute necessity in the current climate. Drinks list was top quality and the cocktails we each got were really well constructed and taste delicious - food shows potential but somewhat lacking. I preferred the options and general service pre-renovation though admittedly it was quite some time ago and I may have simply had a poor experience which can understandably happen during a new launch.

B. B.The quality of food is absolutely excellent! The service is fast and efficient. The wait staff are really helpful in helping managing sides and will double check with you if they believe that you have underestimated portion sizes. For example the sides in the Balcony Restaurant are designed to be shared between two people. If every person in your party orders sides and there are duplicates they will ask if you meant to order so many. You can split bills in the Balcony Restaurant and you can order mocktails off the menu.

M.Last weekend - Saturday lunch the service was excellent, two meals - I had the 250g rump steak on the granite hot stone and chicken schnitzel - both meals excellent - attempted to tip the lovely waitress who wouldn't accept the tip saying she was being paid very well and she enjoyed what she did! Wow! Sunday evening - footy night - arrived before the rush and what a rush it was - waitress from the previous day not working this shift - two meals - chicken and beef schnitzel - my beef schnitzel was wide and very thin on for the beef - it comprised only a third of the thickness and it was over-cooked - the crumbs/batter dark brown, edges crunchy burnt - saved only by the mushroom sauce which was not as good at the previous day's; the chicken schnitzel had plenty of chicken but again over-cooked - wouldn't go there again after a local footy match but certainly would for lunch based on our experience.

Pre renovations: This used to be one excellent pub where the food was excellent, the decor was old style and the service was second to none. It had small outdoor area which was good to get away from the noise inside.
Post renovations: The service has degraded even though it is now bigger due to incorporating the small outdoor area and expanding backwards. The staff aren't as friendly and its way way too noisy. If you had to compare it to anything, it is half way between a pub and a nightclub [without the music]. The owners can do a lot to improve the Service and the staff selections.

Our expectations weren't very high and even though our Pizza was dry (maybe put the bbq sauce on top? BBQ Chicken), we were very delighted to see a familiar young lady who use to work at the Britannia where we have regulated for years!
Such a beautiful young kiwi girl, the staff were also immensely helpful and as per usual, she was at our every need despite how busy you seemed to be.
I was saddened to see her abused so often during our meals from so many different sorts of arrogant patrons. Concerning but we've seen her defuse worse. She was so well treated by the Owners and Managers at the Britannia I write this review specifically for her. Our family will be coming here more often!

Really...Only someone so boring they cant even hold a decent conversation with the rest of their dinner party would even notice something that stupid? And yes the prices are up there, but if you want a pint and a parmy for 15 bucks this is not your place.
But if your after one of the best steaks in town with top service and dont mind paying for it, and putting up with the outdated interior, lol, than you will love this place.

A.The Strathmore became our local watering hole whilst in Adelaide. Their indoor / outdoor format made it an extremely comfortable place to chill out and enjoy a few beverages with mates. Centrally located, it meant that all of those staying in Adelaide could meet at a central location.
R.Hot Rock on the Balcony. You can also get it downstairs if you can put up with noise. Bar prices have increased and the wine selection decreased. Losing its appeal.
