N. C.A nice place to hang out, with an outdoor terrace and indoor seating. The portion sizes were large and they offer up a good burger. The Lion Hotel also offer a good variety of beers and ales on tap.

K. M.First time there, food and service in the restaurant was phenomenal. Would have had a 5 star rating if the there was separate bathroom facilities for restaurant patrons to use. The bathroom facilities shared between the restaurant and bar was disgusting. All but one of the sinks in the ladies facilities was clogged with vomit and water. The floor was saturated with spilt drinks and discarded glasses. Would definitely return if restaurant patrons only bathroom facilities were added.
P. B.I like this place. Food is good. Got a good vibe. It's loud. Really loud. The 3 stars is for the waiting staff. Low rent type not up to standard of another Adelaide up market restaurant. The service staff are rough and Ned more training on how to service tables. A bit off a put off. Yikes. What you'd expect at gas station diner.
P. A.The staff, decor, selection of the drinks and atmosphere were just amazing. We ordered three mains and two appetiser. The appetisers were vegetarian and full of flavours, three different cheeses, very good balance of sauce, seasoning and dressing. The wagyu burger was fantastic. Every element complimented the beef. The patty was 100% beef and very well seasoned and cooked. The choice of cheese and bacon were perfect. The chicken Parmesan was one of the best. Evenly cut thick chicken breast cooked to perfection with just right amount of sauce, cheese and bacon and the fires was just a perfect side for that. Duck breast cooked to perfection. One of the bests i have ever tasted. All and all the place serves wonderfull tasty food. The food is fresh, hearty and delicious.
S.Double cheeseburger was fantastic. Bar selection is pretty great too.

Can't recommend highly enough, if you haven't been in the last 6 months, stop looking at this a book a bloody table. Or just go for a casual drink I don't care, just bloody go there.

Y. D.We walked in and found a table at the sport bar. We had steak and burger. The size of the meals were big enough for adults. Their tiger prawns and broken chicken fat potatoes were amazing too. Their desserts were nice and big for the price. We loved the dark chocolate and the cheesecake ones.

S. P.I came here with a friend to celebrate a milestone and we had the Chef's Tasting Experience. Two entreè dishes, two mains and two dessert. The entreès and crabs inguine were excellent. However the Scotch fillet was a let down, unevenly cooked, rare one end and overdone on the other. But this was followed by a very well prepared and presented set of desserts, that taste amazing. Overall a good dining experience. I'll be back again another time.

I. A.My caffeine detector brought me to The Lion for breakfast. A mug of lactose-free free cappuccino (and some Bircher muesli) later was confirmation enough that it's working fine. 🤔✔️🤗 So, when you're on to a good thing, better follow it up with sago pudding and fruit toast on the next visit. (The sago was surprisingly good!) 👍

蚊.Fresh & Tasty place to grab lunch...
Service with a smile, they were very accommodating towards our kids... the waitress bought out some pencils and paper to keep them entertained which was a nice touch for such a busy place.
As I would suspect, there wouldn’t be too many kids visiting during the week (mainly office/corporate patrons - during the week)
Also, the Laksa was the perfect dish for a cold winters afternoon - Nom Nom 🤤😊

From start to finish the staff were fantastic, especially on the night prior to guests arriving and then during the event.
The food was amazing, and our guests are still talking about it.

F. E. G.Having eaten here over many years, I was disappointed with my meal this evening. The fish batter was overcooked and somewhat greasy. Apart from the battered fish and chips, a small piece of Cos lettuce accompanied the meal.
I had assumed that the hotel renovations would have improved the acoustics with better noise reduction. However, this does not seem to be the case.
The staff were friendly and performed their duties quite well.
My disappointment with the meal was probably a one off, but I am somewhat ambivalent from visiting until the noise levels are improved.

M. O.Like to go here for a quick beer or a meal from time to time. Has been renovated in last year or so and food is nicely prepared pub style food. Seems to be a separate restaurant that looks more upmarket with its own menu but i haven't been there. There is also fireplace next to one side of the bar which is nice in winter.

P. B.This Hotel is a mixed bag architecturally speaking, rear dining, toilets and courtyard are definitely going to keep your mind interested if your conversation isn’t! Good array of beers, mostly the standard drinks but a few extras. Generous food servings of great pub food. It’s got a nicer dining area as well next door (technically part of the complex though). We always go there when we are famished and couldn’t be bothered to make dinner!

Spend two nights in the vicinity and the fist dinner had in The Lion...the second was obvious 😉 vegetarian meals there ain’t boring- pumpkin from restaurant’s menu is generous and feed the hungry one, beetroot from casual menu is spicy and gives new perspective what to do with the beetroot. So...vegetarians and vegans - it’s a place for you! Big thanks to Gareth - manager, atmosphere is great 👍🏻 (alone girl in there can feel safe and took care of). Huge recommendation!

T. 1.They have done a great job with the renovation. Feels fresh and new. The kitchen is doing some awesome work. Quite simply the highest tier of quality pub food going.
M.Very good pub and simply an outstanding restaurant. Excellent and well trained restaurant staff. We loved our food – pork rack with coconut yogurt was great and the linguini with chilly crab was full of flavour and delicious. Even the kids’ meal (chicken soldiers) was very well prepared with moist and yummy chicken (not the usual dry as a bone chicken served for kids). The wine list was very extensive and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

I've been coming here for over 30 years and is is great to see the place reinventing itself. Plenty of street parking available, and off street parking is across the road.
j. b.Had lunch on Saturday and sat outside as it was such a lovely day. I had the cheese burger which was okay, no wow factor. My friend had the lamb quesadilla which was very tasty and very filling. The prices were reasonable. A bit disappointing at the time we had to wait to be served as there were not that many people and also I found the staff a bit grumpy (maybe they had a big night on Friday). Will I go back, not sure, but certainly am aiming to go to the restaurant as I have had a better experience there.

Knowledgable and intelligent staff combined with a great selection of wines by the glass and consistently excellent food keep me coming back. Their staple is the excellent steaks, but try other things too - I have never been disappointed. The natural oysters were standout last night. Loved the pork belly and lemon sorbet too. I always finish up with an affogato at this restaurant - great quality vanilla icecream, a separate shot of espresso to pour over yourself and a frangelico shot. A great white tablecloth restaurant with no hint of snobbery.

Twice after receiving our beverages, we were bought more caps and more regular lattes (not ordered by us), but were still waiting for the large latte.
As we finished dining they bought 2 extra breakfasts to the table which also did not belong to us.
What ever their system is, it isn't very efficient!!

Minne was the avocado , poached eggs and corriender with lemon, ... meant to be rather clean fresh flavours but the burnt toast over cooked eggs that where more like hard boiled eggs and needed a little bit of a kick or bite to the dish with right seasoning... not going back there soon... :(
