Ordered the special fried rice and cashew stir fry vegetables for take away dinner. It was amazing!!!! We will be back soon to trying more different dishes.

Although I've always jested with friends about eating at the A Chinese Restaurant, the food is really spectacular. I had the sweet sour pork and the execution was peeerfect. The sauce was a bright rose orange with just the right amount of sour and sweet. The batter was thin and crispy and the pork was tender. The ingredients are fresh too. Parking is difficult. The closest parking is across Montague road at the Queensland theatre. Used to be free but I think it's metered parking. The street parking just outside the restaurant on bouquet St has only 3 car spaces of half hour parking, usually already taken up. Venue itself is clean but small and cloistered. But I'm ok with that because I rather eat my food freshly cooked than from a takeaway scenario.

I’ve been getting takeaway from A Chinese Restaurant every week since they opened. Meals are always ready in 10-15mins, massive portion sizes, and phenomenal flavour. I’m actually on my way to the shop now to get another meal. I can highly recommend the Mongolian beef with large special fried rice and 4 doing rolls with a can of Diet Coke. You’ll get 2 meals out of this, all for roughly $35. How good!! I bet you’ve driven past, looked at the ‘A Chinese Restaurant’ sign and wondered is this place was a joke or legit. Let me clear it up for you - it’s the best Chinese takeaway you can get in Australia.

Went here for a work lunch and had a great time. We shared a few plates between the 8 of us and it worked out to only be $13.30 a person. Our favourite ended up being the Mongolian Lamb. Thank you for the great lunch.

Sorry no photo as the food was delicious and we ate it all ! This is honest, well cooked traditional Chinese food where the ingredients are fresh and the quantities are generous. The Mongolian beef was filled with beef not like other Chinese restaurants where there is so little beef and so many onions. The honey king prawns were fresh and also generous. We wish the business owners health and prosperity where some of that prosperity will come from us coming again. Thank you 😊

got Uber delivery from this shop tonight , food was nice ! We ordered the honey chicken and special fried rice and it was absolutely beautiful. I have a 1 and a half year old and a 3 year old and they both ate all of theirs and they never eat all their tea so thats saying something. Will be going back again for sure, was divine. Thank you.

We ate here tonight and got the spring rolls, special fried rice, Mongolian beef and honey chicken. Everything was absolutely delicious, cooked fresh and cooked to perfection! Best Chinese we've had! Extremely well priced, everything we got was only $40 and the staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back next time we are in Brisbane.

I had the lunch special chilli beef, the beef was so tender it practically melted in the mouth, really nice. The chilli was enough to notice but not so much it overpowered the other flavours. Starter was spring rolls which were a good size and crunchy and tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful. I'll go back again.

I got a takeaway here yesterday evening. I had the meal for one which was large fried rice honey chicken and a drink. It was a huge portion - plenty for 2 people and each would have a large portion. The staff were friendly and my order was prepared quickly. The food was a very westernised version of Chinese but it was very pleasant.

Delicious! I'm vegetarian and ordered stir fry vegetables with cashew nuts, very tasty, not oily at all, and a good variety of veggies. We also got the spring rolls and fried rice, loved all of the dishes and will go back for sure!

Awesome old school Chinese takeaway restaurant; becoming ever so rare these days with others going the hipster gimmicky US style food in a box (that ends up being 90% rice or noodle with 2 strips of meat). Yes, this place has the 'traditional' rectangle plastic containers that you can reuse. Beef and Black Bean was spot on good, tasty, not too sweet, not bitter (with that chalky aftertaste) and full of tender beef with no bamboo shoot fillers in sight. Special Fried Rice was full of chunks of meat instead of peas, almost a shandy. The prices are on par with places out in the suburbs. This place is a gem and is as unpretentious as its name.

As a local tonight was our first visit and definitely won't be our last. The food was very good, well flavoured and generous in both variety of ingredients and portion with fast, polite and accommodating service. I have to say their fried dim sims deserve a very special mention. They were the best dim sim I've eaten in Brisbane and reminiscent of Melbourne style dim sims and generous in size. The owners steamed them, then battered and fried. A must if you eat here. A Chinese Restaurant well deserves its five stars!
