Comments of Ahmet's Turkish Restaurant
D. S.
I went to Ahmet’s for the first time and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The pricing was reasonable and the service was great. I liked the variety in the menu as well. I went with a group of 4 so I loved that they had ‘share dishes’ so we could try everything.
M.
The ambiance inside is amazing, feels like you are in Turkey. The food was so delicious and flavourfull. We had the Turkish bread and the mix skewers, the lamb was my favourite. Kunefe with ice cream and Turkish coffee was a nice way to end the meal. Service was great too.
F. H.
We have been here so many times, and each time it's been an amazing experience, we love the dips and the bread, this Turkish restaurant has been so addictive that we end up going here like once a week. The managers are friendly they look after guest very well. I highly recommend this place they have both quantity and quality for the price....👍
D.
Very delicious food! Very fresh. You can tell that the meat are not frozen. The minced lamb skewer was exceptional! That's my recommendation of this place!
M.
We have dined at Ahmet's on numerous occasions over the past decade or so. The food and service have always been good and consistent. Ahmet's, to me, will always be the iconic institution that adds colour, flavour and vibrancy to the restaurant precinct in South Bank.

😊The restaurant was busy as usual and has lots of space to sit. Lively atmosphere ✨
😋All foods were great especially the pizza! You must try it!
I. E.
Loved Ahmet's Famous Mixed Grill and Rose Garden Delight mocktail drink. Great ambiance and service. Cant recommend it enough!
E. W.
Have been here a few times over the years and always enjoy it.
Sadly the Toblerone cocktail is off the menu!
Lovely staff, great food, really nice decor.
Book to be sure you get a table as walk ins will be turned away if it's busy.

Food and service wise, no issues at all. As always they are consistent and tastes good. But I really think this place is overpriced. I had equal or better quality middle eastern food in and around Brisbane for 30-40% cheaper. And yes at a comparable level and environment. This is the only reason I am scoring 4.
A. F.
Really great food with excellent atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend a visit if your at Southbank. Ps: The bread and dip selection was amazing!
I. G.
We’ve eaten here many times and never had a bad experience. The food is always super tasty with excellent service.

(Vegetarian Foodie) If you are at south bank parklands on a friday evening, all you need to do is to find the biggest line outside a restaurant and you’ll find ahmet. Thanks to their very authentic taste, courteous staff and great ambience. The turkish tea is amazing!
One night find it to be a bit costly though. However, given the location, I’d say it’s not too bad.
T. A.
The host upon entrance including the waiters and waitress were all very friendly and provided good service.
Here’s what we ordered: Banquet King Feast for two.
Whilst everything that came out to our table was absolutely tasteful. For us, their was way too much bread and not enough condiments/dipping sauces. The meat was tasty although a little bit dry and without dipping sauces, it’s a bit hard to swallow. Make sure, you’ve got plenty to drink to help wash it down.
The only thing that let them down, was the dry meet and no dipping sauces !! Otherwise, we would’ve provided 5 stars.
Good value for money, great service with a lovely atmosphere.

This restaurant is an Icon at South Bank in Brisbane. It's been there for ages has a good name for itself. Great Turkish food that is halal friendly. Service is good and on weekends there is entertainment. Food is tasty but not going to blow you away. Family friendly. Recommend booking ahead for a table.
Z. C.
Always a good vibe and food at Ahmets. Had the manti dumplings and beef. Beef was really tasty.
m. w.
Went on Monday when Pides are 10 dollars. Delicious and great atmosphere. Food serving times are quick to average time, comes out warm and looking fresh. Would visit again.
D. C.
Great food & ambience. Went there with friends for drinks & lunch on Sunday. Food is very authentic, which was amazing. Absolutely loved the mixed plate Kabab and the Turkish bread. Service is good too. Only thing I didn’t like - you can’t split the bill, which put us in an embarrassing situation. Be mindful about this point before you go there. Best to carry cash so you can combine the payment on the table before heading to clear the bill.
D. M.
We had a lovely night dining outside, our waitress helped us choose a smaller entree of breads and dips to ensure we had room for mains. Good call as everything was so very delicious. The only bump was that our breads and dips were forgotten until the end of the meal. But they were still delicious.
H. C.
Mix grill special was great. Fresh turkish bread, one of the best I have tried. The lamb steak bowl was shaved lamb and not what i expected.. but tasted nice. Good ambience.
A. S. K.
The restaurant is busy as usual which can mean one of popular places in South Bank.
They have vegetarian option as well.
I recommend bringing more people so that you can share all the different plates since they have so many varieties.
O. K.
Bang opposite to the famous part of South bank, this Turkish restaurant serves amazing Pide and Kofte that's served with.rice and salad.
We chose to sit in the outdoor section but they have a massive indoor section that's beautifully done-up.
They definitely do not do mediocre just because it's in touristy part of Brisbane, and yet, it's not costly.
Staff were very friendly and courteous. Be prepared to wait for a while but as a tourist who would be in hurry at all?
E. D.
Went to the restaurant for lunch with family. The staff were efficient in taking our order/s, Some of our food came out but had than had to wait a long time between the meals (We got a feat). We had noticed that guests who were seated after us were being served their feast's before us. I had asked for everything on our table to be put into containers for take away. One waiter had taken our breads and dips (As we got the mixed bread basket, with the 6 dips), and has asked if we wanted them to be put into a container, we had said yes. We proceeded to sit there for a good 20 minuets with nothing in return. When we finally decided to go find out what was going on, he had thrown away the dips and breads, for the staff to become rude and arrogant towards us. They did give us a fresh bread with 2 dips, but for the money that was paid, I would suggest that the servers understand english a little better, and not be so rude towards their customers.
E. G.
Great and authentic Turkish food. Fantastic place to have a group dinner with your friends. You can try Turkish beer and cocktails. Vegetarian friendly. You will never worry about not being full!
Must try: Pides - Turkish style pizza with rich flavour (meat, veggies, cheese)
S. A.
We had lentil soup and grilled meat. Food came so quick and didn’t taste fresh made unfortunately. Soup was nice though. I guess they have so many reviews from tourists and food is average around this area.
Z. A.
First visit for me today. Friendly staff and nice food.
Liked the interiors too.
E. B.
Food was good especially with there $10 deal. Service was lacking I don't think they had enough staff to cover the size of the restaurant.
H. B.
Amazing food, amazing entertainment on the weekends and amazing cocktails! Best restaurant I’ve been too. Well worth going their on your birthday too because you can wear a pointy hat hahaha.
K. L.
Not my favourite food but have been past it so many times we had to try. well presented, full of flavour , service was first class. A nice change. For lovers of Turkish food i would think this place was heaven. Its always packed !
C. F.
If you want top quality traditional Turkish food then you cannot go past Ahmets. Seriously delicious and consistently so. Never once had a bad experience. Service is friendly, plenty of seating and food is fast and on point. So much so that we are it all this time around before I could even get a decent photo oops. Thanks team...will definitely be back again and again
A. D. B.
Hot and fresh banquet for 2 that would easily feed 4! Will be back for sure!
R. C.
First time trying Turkish so got the Banquet to try a bit of everything and it was a fabulous Gourmet experience. My Lady & I were truly amazed at how good everything was, topped off by a sumptuous array of desserts which we took away and had later that night. Highly recommend, reasonably priced for what You receive 👍
S. C.
A busy Saturday night with all the tables booked, but as always the meals were to perfection, the service was fast and friendly. Best restaurant in Southbank.
S. S.
The food has been Phenomenal as always. and the service 5 star.
Thanks to all the staffs specially to Ankit who looked after us, and all the staffs who looked us well.
Would visit this place any day in a week.
A. T.
The mixed grill was nice but the iskender was so oily and the meat was so thick we couldn’t even eat half of it. The meat actually made me feel so sick and dizzy afterwards. I did tell the waitress the meat was too oily because we hadn’t really touched the food and he did offer to remake it but I didn’t want to eat that again. He didn’t offer anything else which was disappointing because it’s not cheap. Be careful with the iskender if you don’t like oily food
M. G.
I've been coming here for nearly 20 years and it never fails to impress me! Delicious, fresh food, reasonably priced. Did I mention delicious? Our family love the chicken pide and can never go past the Turkish bread and dips! And everything is delicious! Even the kids will eat here! Highly recommend.
F. O.
Been there a few times, the host is always helpful. The food and their service are great. They always deliver a good dining experience.
A. D.
Hands down amazing food. My partner and I absolutely loved it. The service was outstanding, very polite and informative. We felt comfortable asking about the menu and the wait staff were very helpful.
I ordered the mixed skewers with chicken and beef which was delicious. My partner (who is a picky eater) ordered the Pilic Ala King, he loved it. The waiter even gave us a dish of dried chilli so he could customise how hot he wanted it.
The fresh Turkish bread with herbs and hummus is to die for. Next time I'll skip the bread so I can leave room for dessert.
M. N.
Excellent service. Fantastic food and delicious tea. I love the salep tea with pistachio
F. B.
One of the best Turkish restaurants I have visited not only in Brisbane but in Oz! Amazing decor, the servings are HUGE! even though the venue was jam packed! our food arrived quickly! Highly recommended 👍
A. J.
Caught up with my best mate and we both agreed: amazing experience! For the best value, go for one of the banquets. Impeccable service, great vibes & decor + importantly, the food stacks up. Also, the Turkish coffee is a personal favourite. Give it a go if in town!
B. W.
So much food! We ordered 4x share plates between us and we had to ask for a doggy bag. Service is fast and friendly. Tastes amazing! Decor is authentic. Highly recommended.
J. B.
The staff were so lovely and professional despite it being busy. Entrees and mains were spread out very well, didn't have to wait to long, despite how busy it was. Food was so delicious and portioning was great. Would love to eat here again!!
M. B.
Great authentic Turkish food and awesome location next to the parklands.
R. S.
Honestly just amazing Turkish. We might have ordered a little too much food, but that didn't stop us trying to eat it all!
The bread and dip selection was easily my favourite, the variety and freshness was impressive. The mixed grill was delicious and not over done.
R. G.
Great service. Food was finger licking good!
B. K.
Have tasted better Turkish cuisine … bit of a hit n miss with the dishes
S. v. (. C. C.
Always sensational food at Ahmets, I just want one of everything because it's so hard to choose. Mixed Grill and all the dips are super tasty as is the calamari. Friendly staff and great service.
B. R.
The wait staff need to be clearer in their communication.
As we arrived we were told the menus can be found online. However it was not made clear that we could not order online. When greeted, the waiter did well by showing us where we could scan the code but he should have told us this system does not allow orders to be made online. This left us spending more time trying to find the function to pay rather than look at the actual menu. Either implement an ordering system that does both or advise staff to look at the menu online before staff come to take that order.
The second example of poor communication was when we finally made the orders. The waitress did not easily explain which meals come as part of the banquets. As we were sharing 2 kings feast banquets between 4 people, we needed to know how many fritters/skewers/ect. came on each plate. When the meals arrived, we were uncertain if it was for one banquet or two. As a result, some people missed out on plates because we were expecting another lot to come. This could have been avoided if the waitress told us “there is 1 fritter to a banquet. One plate will come out with two fritters. One for each banquet.”
It was also unfair that you could share some types of banquets but not others. For example, 3 people were able to share 2 vegetarian banquets but 3 people could not share 2 kings feasts. This disparagement needs to be corrected.
The food was cooked well and the atmosphere was good. But the communication needs to be fixed.
M. S.
The best Turkish food ever. We did enjoy food and environment! Friendly staff and good customer service.
M.
Lunch time on a Thursday well presented and excellent mannered staff quick to serve and provide advice on whether an order was to much food,
Amazing atmosphere,. Love the Decore, don't order to much or else food coma haha breads and dips amazing got the chicken skewers delishious grilled, 5 stars going back again.
Cant speak to what it's like when busy and or take away but, food quality was fantastic.
D. M.
Enjoyed the experience overall... Friendly waiters and decor was on point. I ordered the AHMET’S FAMOUS MIXED GRILL. Filled me up for sure. The rice was a favourite and the chicken and adana skewers were super tasty and tender. Only complaint was the beef skewer which was very dry and hard to chew. Would definitely consider coming back to try there other dishes.
K. S.
Amazing food. Fabulous friendly staff.
We shared 2 Kings Feasts between 2 people and couldn't finish it but it was excellent.
Will definitely go again.
A. S.
Really excellent Turkish food in the Southbank precinct. Excellent range on the menu, from vegetarian dishes and dips, to the truly delicious mixed grill.
Great atmosphere, plenty of seating indoor and out, and attentive and helpful wait staff.
Would definitely come back next time I find myself in Brisbane.
K. T.
Mouth watering tasty kebabs and any other dish we had. The staff are very friendly. Will go back again definitely.
S. S.
What more can I say but YUM! Love their dips and entree’s. A change in menu would help as it’s been the same since we first went in 2005 but always a pleasure. A bit pricey though, but at least one meal can fill two with the entrees to. Love the passion fruit and mind drink.
C. W.
This place would be my #1 recommended restaurant in South Bank. Amazing food, exceeding generous portions, lovely staff
P. C.
Great BBQ meals and decent prices, cant say the same for others dishes. Good atmosphere. Service standards appear to have dropped as have the booking manners over the phone
d. s.
Service fully great cleanes fully great atmosphere fully great price for that part of city reasonable but I ordered ahmets mixed grilled I was disappointed mince was good the lamb and chicken was burned I couldn't taste the food coz it was 2 burned
A. M.
A friend and I visited Ahmet’s for a late lunch. The restaurant had a traditional homely Turkish vibe about it. Staff are very attentive but not overbearing. We ordered the Meze Board. Oh my gosh! What a huge amount of quality food for two people. I have eaten here since. Ahmet’s never fails on delivering a great dining experience.
l. a.
Had an amazing experience on a Sunday and then ordered the same food on a Tuesday. The chicken gozleme was not flavourful and the lamb skewers were chewy, that's why I rate 4 out of 5. Great mojitos both days. Cheers
J. S.
For the $28 you pay on the dish like this, I would like to recommend this beautifully decorated Turkish restaurant. The service is better than the quality of the dish though. I more enjoyed the traditionally made fabric table clothes and embellished decoration of this place than the food itself. But it is just me frankly.
J.
The staff were very friendly very accommodating to our needs and even let us take our table a little bit earlier than we were scheduled to because we got in early the start of was Turkish bread with two dips it was honestly beautiful I forgot what one of the dips were but the other one was cucumber the cocktail jug was also bigger than we expected but honestly we enjoyed it it was great value for money
T. W.
So so good! Friendly helpful staff. Quick service. So busy, service well run.
Definitely be back. Loved the outside seating of soft furnishings.
M. C. U.
The customer service is amazing. Thank you for a beautiful night 🌹
Delicious food and drinks, cocktails were 10/10
J. C.
We visited on Tuesday night, it was very busy, The food and service was great,The venue is so vibrant, has lots of nice paintings on the wall and lots of gorgeous lights. They had a $10 Turkish pizza deal great value, We will be back again soon
S. A.
Always have such a lovely meal here. A favourite for sure. Thanks for the awesome service tonight guys :)
P. K.
Exceptional! We had the King's Banquet, and the food was delicious. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. Enough food left over to take home for lunch the next day, and that was just as good!
K. J.
We absolutely love the delicious delightful food first time eating at this restaurant my wife has just finished seeing the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at QPAC .And finished off a great day that evening, would recommend for all to go and try the beautiful fresh cuisine. Staff were very polite very professional . 😊🤗🙏👏👍👍👍👍👍❤👨🍳
D. C.
Magic experience from start to finish. This is a really vibrant and happening place with beautiful decor that really transports you to an exotic land. We sat inside to get the full effect of the decor.
Our main waiter for the night (who took our orders) was faultless, being super friendly and attentive, couldn't have asked for better. He was dressed different from the other wait staff, wearing a Ralph Lauren pin-stripe shirt and jeans and was an Aussie, maybe he was a floor manager?
Whoever he was he really made the night for us, which is really what being a waiter is all about.
The Turkish looking guy that seated us was not overly friendly but all other wait staff that brought food to the table throughout the night were great. This place has a lot of staff as they have a huge seating area to service. The restaurant connects from one street through to the other with outside seating on both sides and additional rooms as well.
Prices are very reasonable for a restaurant of this quality, and on the scale of restaurants this is not what you would call expensive, especially considering it borders on being a cultural experience as well. When the traditional Turkish musicians and the Belly Dancer came out you really felt like you were in some far off Turkish Bazaar somewhere.
The food was excellent, we ordered some Turkish garlic breads, a Salami Pide (pee-day), a Lamb Skewer plate, a Spinach and Feta Pastry, some Mocktails and shared them all between us. Finished with a desert tasting plate, Turkish donuts and Hot Apple Tea and some creamy Salep's (like a Chai latte). All up came to about $130 for the night. Hey we're not big eaters but this was more than enough for us (two adults, two kids).
If you can't afford to travel to Turkey, this place is almost as good as being there. Highly recommended!
P. S.
The food is simply superb! The best food I've had in years!
S. Z.
Good location, nice interior, friendly staff, reasonable ordering time and very delicious bread. One star down because the Kunafa was over cooked and they seemed a bit in rush to serve the dessert. Also they did not have Turkish beer
L. H.
Didn't know this place existed until it popped up on my Facebook as a suggestion because of it's $10 Pides on Monday & Tuesday.
After looking at their page I liked the look of them and decided to visit and give it a try.
It was the first time I a Turkish meal other than a Kebab, Delight or the bread from the supermarket.
I ordered the Kings+ and absolutely loved it.
It was very good and it was colossal, I don't think I would have complained if I payed the normal price for it.
I was able to eat just over half of it, they offer take away containers for your food so that you may eat there and take whatever you can't finish home for another day.
I also tried one of their traditional salty yoghurt drinks, a bit too salty for my liking but I just wanted to try something anyway so it didn't bother me.
A new but very good experience, loved the decorations of the place and the art on displace, i enjoyed the Turkish atmosphere and the food they were cooking looked very good.
Will definitely come here again sometime.
D. V.
Fantastic experience of Turkish cuisines. Highly recommend the kings feast if you go with a group of friends.
B. k.
Awesome test and i have almost try every menu here , Zucchini fritters is must try as. A good lunch option if you are roaming around Grey Street.
Always a worth try new dishes here.
L. S.
Great Turkish food, last ate here I 2012ish and not much has changed (which is a good thing)!
Table service was excellent, only disappointing thing was I asked for chicken breast skewers but was provided chicken thigh skewers for the BBQ tapas.
Make sure you bring a friend as it's better to share (and you get to try more things).
M. Y.
Its our 3rd visit here and the food is absolutely delicious just like fall in l♥️ve each bite we take.
V. N.
Great ambience, delicious food. Dessert were exceptionally good. Service could improve though I understand the weekends are crowded and it's difficult to manage especially with covid situations
K. H.
Amazing food, friendly staff, great atmosphere
J. a. C. B.
This is such a great spot! During lockdown we decided to do takeaway as we love Turkish food. We did the King’s Banquet. Heaps of food and super delish. Really impressed with the presentation for takeaway too. Great service! Support a local 😊😉
s. F.
Food was delicious, service was good and we would definitely go back to eat again.
N. M.
Superb! A lot more food than we were expecting, and the quality and authentic taste was amazing!
Service was brilliant too. Will definitely be coming back again!
F. D. B.
Very tasty food and quite a variety, nice place and good atmosphere. the problem lies in customer service, this was quite regular and the staff did not seem friendly.
m. w.
Such a great place. The food was amazing but the service was a bit patchy with food arriving before basics of water. But I'll be back for pide yum!
W. B.
The food was great - especially the amazing lamb cutlets! Friendly staff makes the experience even better, and the unique Ahmets Turkish delight was a final flourish!
D. M.
The pleasant experience from this restaurant heavily relies on its physical ambience. The food was hearty, albeit a little too salty, but lacked something that I couldn't put my finger on. Good Turkish food is hard to master and I think even though this restaurant has been around for a while, it doesn't quite make it. I've had more authentic tasting Turkish food from small restaurants run in suburban areas.
D. G.
It's a great place whether on your own or large groups. Good value for money, but not the best Turkish cuisine, still yummy. Popular place, nice in and outside. OK wine options. Good vegetarian options. Kid friendly, family oriented. Overall a great restaurant.
w. u.
It has some awesome meals especially the lamb skewers make sure you checked each one as the meal proportion varies
T. B.
Delicious food, great service. The staff were awesome, atmosphere good. We'll definitely be back!
P. S.
Celebrated my wife's birthday here a couple of weeks ago. Service and food was top notch. Servings were so large we took some leftovers home. Highly recommended for great food, friendly service and atmosphere.
G. Q.
Great location, Good Service, Average food.
Food presentation good
Food quality average
Taste: average
Service : very good ( thank you Matteo)
All together not the best Turkish food but good experience 🙂
T.
Iconic. A Brisbane institution. We must protect this place at all costs.
South Bank would not be South Bank without Ahmets.
Service is still exceptional. The menu is varied, faithful and aims to please. The interior is what you want from a Turkish restaurant.
Mixed platter, zucchini fritters and a pide and we are good to go. Compulsory for all Brisbane residents to visit Ahmets.
B. D.
The customer service was amazing, the food was good and we didn’t wait to long but we did wait a bit longer for the dessert
, so I do like it but I couldn’t eat more than 3 spoons as it was very sweet.
G. d. L.
Great place to share a meal with family and friends. Atmosphere is wonderful but the belly dancing can be a bit much for people. Plenty of for mains or share platters. Definitely give the apple tea a shot.
J. N.
Fantastic quality food.
Great variety and plenty of choices.
Yoghurt dip with the meat would be a suggestion but otherwise really good value.
C. J.
I love Turkish and Ahmet's did not disappoint! From the colours and decor to the food it was a lovely experience. We had mini lamb dumplings (very mini, cute and tasty) and the mixed grill. Very tasty, tender and perfect size. Although the beef was a tad dry and not as tender as the chicken and lamb, it did not diminish our experience. Thank you for the great service and food 😁🙏
I.
The food was amazing!! Great atmosphere and service was faultless!! Would definitely recommend!!
M. G.
If you guys wanna taste authentic Turkish cuisine then Ahmet's is a must go to place for the yummylicious food... Especially the wings and the bread ... Just love it
A. W.
Food was amazing and there was so much we took 4 boxes home!!
Service was exceptional from Mateo
A. G.
So tasty! It’s our first visit. We came because one of our party likes koftes. We will definitely be back. The bread with dips was so good, especially the babba ganoush. I had the vegetarian casserole, which was so rich and tasty. The pide was great and kofte did not disappoint our Egyptian friend. The mocktails were good too. I think we’ve found a new favourite restaurant.
A. R.
Food was fantastic just need a bit of training for staff, but the place was so beautiful and I enjoyed a lot
J. E.
Food, location and service amazing. If you're looking for something different than your usual food choices, head here.
A. K. S. (.
Authentic Turkish food right in the middle of the brisbane CBD. Loved the turkish pide and the tea. The staff are super awesome.
D. E.
Food is always fresh and flavorful, front of house always polite and friendly while always being professional, have been over 5 or 6 times and never had a bad experience.
g. t.
Good restaurant
Great food
Service was attentive
Enjoyed our special night out with my lovely
A. J.
Amazing food! So much flavor. Had the feast and it was so much food! Great experience!
E. W.
I had the Lamb Steak Bowl, the Turkish Bread with yogurt cucumber dip and a wonderful Sauvinon Blanc. It was absolutely wonderful. Delicious food, impressive ambience, very nice and talented staff and a great evening entertainment.
Highly recommend!
N. K.
Second visit and still fantastic, best Turkish I've had. Southbank has so many good options but Ahmet's is one of the best.
A. P.
Service: our welcome included multiple warnings from two members of staff saying "only one bill"... Clearly a priority for them rather than welcoming people. A sign or note on the menu would suffice. We ordered drinks and appetizers first. Drink order was wrong. Then we ordered mains. Not 10 mins later our mains came. Enquiring on appetizers it was clear the gentlemen had forgotten our first order or it was poorly timed. Then when we asked for them to be brought it came in three deliveries because it was wrong every time. We did receive then complimentary but by this stage we were completely turned off by the service.
Food: absolutely delicious food. I lived in Turkey for 3 years and appreciated the authenticity and high quality food. Large portions. I recommend the spinach and feta gozleme, lamb "dumplings" and lamb Iskenda.
Atmosphere: nice decor however it was very hot, limited or no air con and fans. Made it very uncomfortable to eat in the heat. I would not return on hot summer days, which Brisbane has often.
P. S.
We have now come back a few times. The food is always fresh. My wife cannot go past the warm Turkish bread, then the mixed meat platters. Excellent & tasty. The Sangria was also a hit last night.
Would highly recommend trying this venue!
R. D.
The food, service and venue were fantastic.
We had the Kings Feast banquet. Be warmed, it's a lot of food! And you will want to eat it all!
The service was really helpful and friendly. I commend them. They can be proud of themselves.
The restaurant was pretty, clean and with only minor maintenance issues. It was nice to see the kitchen staff working through the glass.
M. W.
Have been here many times over the years and it has never disappointed. Staff are very welcoming and attentive. The food is very good and have never had a bad dish. Highly recommend.
N. B. C.
Great service, tasty food (and lots of it) and a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
H. I.
The food quality is good, however price is abit high while the food portion was not enough
S. P.
Fabulous. Great service and amazing food. Booking online is easy and you must book. This place can get busy.
A. W.
Delightful staff, food was lovely and top quality, and I love that they had veggie sticks that you could choose instead of bread for the dips!! So yummy! And the garlic love dip was divine. Only thing is, there was only half a mushroom in the whole veggie skewers dish. Really wanted more mushroom!
M. O.
Would have loved to see vegan options but the vegetarian options were delightful! The maître’d was welcoming and the decorations enchanting, will return for sure.

Party of 12 in COVID restrictions. All the staff just carried on like champions, cooking great food on huge plates and lovely polite manner and care all night. 2 hours went too fast. We love Ahmet's. It's a business we think everyone should visit often
J. A. I.
I went with friends and got the Kings Feast. It was far more food than I could have imagined, and most of it was wasted. It was okay, nothing was particularly amazing until we got to the desserts. Once they arrived, wow, was it good. The Turkish delight was amazing, and the baklava was delicious. The cake in the middle of the photo was alright, an almost cake of some sort, but the other two desserts were the stars. Definitely try those two out if you eat here.
C. H.
The food is great, with a good selection and decent sized portions. My sister and I shared a meal and it was more than enough. There is a good atmosphere and the service is prompt. Please be aware that they do not split bills and only one payment can be made per bill.
S. H.
It’s delicious and a great environment with friendly staff there. Highly recommended that Ayran ( yoghurt drink) it’s traditional turkey drink for everyone and everyday :) super healthy I guess
A. J.
Went out there to dine with a bunch of work mates.
Pros - great ambience, nice decor with rugs on floor and seating. Live music 🎶 and we had a belly dancer 💃 entertain us as well. Food 🥘 is reasonably good, especially their bread 🍞 and dips. Meats were a bit dry on the skewer, but not too bad
Cons- relatively expensive, parking is always an issue in the Southbank area. Can’t split the bill! Make sure you remember this, otherwise it can be quite awkward at the end of the meal.
A. 1.
Never disappoints, from the first time we found this hidden gem, I always go there whenever in Brisbane. And a very nice atmosphere and hospitality as well.
C.
Such a lovely, amazing place. Had amazing food and loved how everything we had was fresh. My partner and I wanted to try everything that sounded good because we haven’t eaten Turkish cuisine until now. We loved everything
A. K.
Wow, what a gastronomic experience. We had a small group fo 5 and ordered a variety of plates to share. The portions are very generous and the food is delicious. We got some desserts to takeaway, which was regrettable, because I would have ordered more!!! The baklava and Turkish delight was the perfect way to round off a lovely evening of great food. Can't wait to visit next time we're in Brisbane.
r. s.
you can see they grill on the charcoal, good taste, I like the low chair and table, kids friendly.
C. G.
The painfully chewy beef that arrived at our table must be the reason we waited over an hour for our food. Unfortunately the meal - a pide and the mixed grill plate - was 'just okay' and not worth the wait. We received no sympathy from the staff as they blamed being understaffed as the reason we saw two tables arrive, eat and leave before we got our food. We had even booked our table, what a waste. The mocktails were great and ended up being the highlight of the evening but not good enough to give this restaurant a second go.
D. T.
First time I've had Turkish food and it was awesome! Also a pleasent surprise when the dancing lady came out to make the atmosphere fun and cosy.
A. K.
I was first invited at this restaurant by a friend in his birthday. I like the food. Later, I invited a friend of me and within in 3 to 4 months I visited there 3 times . . . I love their chicken skewers
T. B.
Great food and atmosphere. The king's banquet is so good, make sure not to fill up on the bread and dips at the start (as delicious as it may be!)
A. L.
We had dinner here with friends and it was a lovely evening. There are vegan options and the waiter was incredibly accommodating and making suggestions to be the most cost efficient with our 6 year old, which is exactly the kind of customer service that creates repeat customers. The food was fantastic and came out in a timely manner. We didn't realise until after leaving that we had been charged for a round of desserts we didn't order. I went back and the manager fixed it up and refunded me in no time, with the waiter himself coming up to apoligise. I wasn't bothered by it, mistakes happen, but their lovely handling of it cemented just how much I enjoyed their service. Will definitely be back!
C. F.
The best food around. Fantastic authentic Turkish restaurant..never ever had a bad meal ever, and you must try the Belly Dancer cocktail. One is never enough..great professional customer service, highly recommend.🙂👍🏻💯
L. R. W.
We popped in for some tea and cakes!
Wow! Just wow!
Turkish tea was beautiful. We ordered a cake each and thought we would get one slice but we got four! For about $10 each plate!
They were beautiful.
C. R.
Fantastic food ambient recommend banquets..its Turkish food heaven
T. H.
Serving sizes are very small and not worth the price, but the bread was amazing
T. J.
Ahmet's was nothing short of phenomenal. Waited a maximum of 10 minutes for 5 main meals and table bread. Everything tasted amazing (especially the mixed grill) and staff were very polite and welcoming. Definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting a great feed.
M. K.
Excellent service, and very delicious authentic Turkish food. Lots of vegetarian options. Highly recommend for a nice dine in experience.
A. R.
me and the cook had the kings feast
wow, it was very tasty and enjoyable
would have taken photos but every course that arrived smelt so good we dug into it before we managed to take any pics
…..edit… the cook took some photos
A. Z.
Dry, tasteless and unbalanced.
Lunch for 2 at $70 no starters or drinks.
Besides the low value for money, the service was 2 out of 5
M. L. G.
Great cocktails! Lovely food!
B.
A good experience on a weekday evening. A broad menu, inside and outdoor dining (choose inside for better staff attention). Big serves of quality dishes. Some reviews pan the service but we had wonderful attention from Alijandra, a lovely person. Would return.
S. A.
Nice place, great customer service 👌
The food is yummy 😋
Best tea ever 😍
D.
Delicious food. The guy at the front running the show with finding seats and taking orders and all is amazing. For such a huge and busy restaurant he made every customer feel so comfortable and made sure everything went smoothly. the food is incredibly but he's the star of the show!
Z. T.
Alway delicious food, friendly team, authentically styled and they do take away !
b.
absolutely divine turkish food with massive portions and super nice staff. the restaurant itself is also very beautiful and it’s quick walk from major south bank attractions. i would definitely recommend this!
B. A.
We had two dishes, cocktail and beer. Was great. Good flavors big serves and the drinks taste great. Would come back again.
P.
We absolutely loved this place, it had a big menu with so many options. Food was absolutely delicious and the service was so quick, even though it was absolutely packed. Thanks for the amazing experience.
J. H.
Second time for us staying at the Mantra across the road, dined at Ahmets both times and will return again just to enjoy a meal at this great restaurant. Last night on our sons recommendation we let the waiter make suggestions and we were not disappointed, took the pressure off trying to decide and the meals were absolutely amazing. Highly recommend Ahmets for a great night out. AB was super attentive and could not fault his service.
f. k.
Delicious food! (But service could be a tad friendlier)
I tried the pide and Ahmet's famous mixed grill and both were excellent
The Turkish coffee comes really really hot (watch out not to burn your tongue) and you can feel the coffee powder. Not a big fan but it was nice to try a different kind of coffee.
Pro tip, on Mondays and Tuesdays Pide is just 10 dollars
P. S.
The food was beautiful and bountiful. The staff were excellent despite the busy night River Fire presented them with and the atmosphere was made that much better with live belly dancing and Turkish music.
B. P.
Amazing service especially by the manager of the restaurant. Food is superb. I enjoy their kunefeh and if you go on Monday’s or Tuesday’s then you get any pide for $10.
A. H.
Very pricy , the food is not too good compared with other Turkish restaurants.
S. Y.
Super nice and helpful staff and great vegan food with special requirement like no onion no garlic.
Gorgeous environment too!
k. s.
Nice ambience. Waiting was a bit long though. We waited 35 minutes for our order and some grill pieces were burnt. Giving 4 stars because I have been here many times before and had better experience previously.
R. S.
Really nice food, lots of options and friendly staff. Fast service, didn't have to wait long for our food. Also vegetarian options
L. B.
I love the food here, always super fresh and extremely tasty. I really enjoy the mixed grill they offer that includes marinated char grilled skewers, Turkish rice, yoghurt and salsa. Super yum.
C. S.
The food was so delicious.
People so friendly.
R. S.
Good decor. Good service. Did find the lamb cutlets a bit tough but not a deal breaker. Pricing is a bit steep could be more wallet friendly. Overall good place to visit.
G. R.
What a fantastic experience. Had a group of 16 visit with a set menu (Kings Feast), including a minor, vegetarian and a couple with cultural needs. No request was too difficult including late amendments. The food was exceptional, only to be exceeded by the service. Special mention need to go to Matteo, our Italian manager from Milan on the night that was always smiling and Sebastian, the friendly Colombian from Bogota that looked after our drinks. A business that showed care and ethics and worth a visit. Ps. Book as they are understandably busy. Thanks guys.
S. C.
Amazing!!! The food was melt in your mouth delicious and the service was impeccable. Such an amazing atmosphere. So much food.....but I didn't want to stop eating. Thankfully we were able to take our leftovers home. We had the King's Banquet and it is enormous!! No regrets trying this wonderful restaurant. Will definitely be back again. Most definitely recommend it as a must! But book ahead to ensure you get a table if you don't want to wait. That's how popular they are. Thank you Ahmets for making our night one to remember!!
M. S.
Excellent food and service! We had the mezze plate for two, it was a good amount of great food. Can't fault the entire experience.
n. c.
amazing tasty food, excellent service especially from the lovely girl Sara who served us. The wrong food was accidentally brought out to us and she got it fixed right away. loved the experience!
I. W.
Always terrific if you eat in. My takeaway took 45 mins to be handed over after I was told it would take just 15 mins. Takeaway went cold quickly. I only needed to drive 2 blocks so it's better to eat in
B. O.
such awesome food!.....easily best hommus ive ever tasted and everything else we ordered was delicious....also our kids adored the belly dancing and live music. a great place for a night out!
H.
I'm not Turkish but I think this is the best Turkish food I have had. Everything seemed fresh and authentic (my friends were obsessed with the dips!)
Amazing service speed - we had barely finished ordering and the first dish arrived. Friendly staff, not too crowded. The only thing is that the prices are a little high, but it's worth it.
M. D.
Delicious meals with generous portions and great service
L. M.
Beautiful atmosphere!
Perfect staff!
Most delicious food ever!
Price and quantity achieved, making it excellent value for money.
This restaurant successfully provides affordable dining.
My husband and I chose to dine at Ahmet's both night of our stay in Brisbane and neither time or meal disappointed.
Thank you for being part of making our holiday break so enjoyable!
J. L.
Amazing food & ambience! Gr8 friendly & efficient service 👍🏼👍🏼
A. P.
We didn't wait very long at the door as there was someone at the door taking our details, everything was done very well organised. The service was super excellent and quick. Food was delicious!
A. H.
Fantastic service and entertainment. We had the King's Feast Banquet and the portions are very generous, so much so I felt very full afterward.
A. Z.
Man so what happened was this that my friends and I just randomly popped in and we ordered our foods. Boy, this is a great restaurant with amazing and flavorful dishes. Don't even ask about customer service because it was on point and we weren't disappointed. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants good place to eat. Order the famous mixed grilled one, it is really good. Thanks to Ahmet's 😊
J. J. A. K. K.
Beautiful food, service and entertainment. Would love to go again when I'm back in Brisbane. The Calamari was my absolute favourite 💗
L. H.
Went there for our anniversary dinner and enjoyed the experience. We had the King's Feast, which was not exactly cheap, but to be fair there was a huge amount of food brought out - possibly enough for three, or even four as a light meal - and there were only two of us. The waiter was friendly and checked on us several times throughout the meal to make sure they didn't bring out the next course before we were ready for it. Also provided a doggy bag for everything we couldn't eat, which has proven to be delicious as leftovers!
M.
Good food, but a bit pricey
J. S. F.
Perfect meal and portions. Fresh and tasty meals.
K. Y.
Prompt service, great tasting food and friendly staff! Highly recommend for any local or tourist. You won’t regret trying this fine authentic Turkish restaurant.
A. M.
Just delightful, food and service was amazing! I will definately return soon for a selection from the rest of the menu. Great environment and city position for further investigation of neighbouring sights and activities.
C. M.
We had a table of 7 for a 30th birthday dinner on the 31st of July, the food, the portion sizes, the customer service was absolutely outstanding. I've never tried Turkish food before and i was just blown away. Can't forget the apple tea!! & the Turkish delight was sooo good!!! The whole night was just perfect! We will be back again for dinner, also shout out to Sebastian for his excellent customer service, he was very polite and helpful & knew the menu very well. Never had a question unanswered. Thank you for a lovely night! :)
H. D.
DeliciousTurkish Mezze, lamb skewers, fabulous bread, relaxed atmosphere and good service. Only 4/5 as the Gözleme were overwhelmed by cheese taste, which overpowered the other flavours. Will come back!
T. D.
Nice But bit expensive for the average Working Man and Woman which is about 75% of customer in the Greater Brisbane area
A. R.
Amazing food, so tasty and delicious.
Great atmosphere and friendly and fast service.
We will be back.
A. K.
Beautiful restaurant with lots of vegetarian options! Great service and the quality of the food is excellent. Probably the best value for money and quality restaurant in the area. Awesome atmosphere we had a lovely meal .
J. C.
We have dined here whenever we come to Brisbane to see a show , the team never disappoints, flavours are fresh, clean and bold , cocktail jugs are tasty and atmosphere is always happy ,tried my 1st cup of salep, and wanted more , thx team we will be back
L. E.
So amazing! Would recommend this to anyone, staff super friendly and food is amazing!
S. U.
The birthday restaurant to go to. Best food ever, especially the mint, passion fruit - non alcoholic drink. Love the bubakanush dip- YUM and their rice with the meat mixture is the best! Only problem is that foods can be a bit hard to impress little kids. Enjoy!
B. G.
Really amazing food that I had after long time. The customer service was excellent, will definitely come back next time and refer our friends too.
A. G.
Great Turkish coffee, very good mixed grill plates
R.
"Ahmets, Ahmets, Ahmets!" I will chant this at any and all times, the opposite of a war cry, a love ballad, for how amazing this restaurant is. Everything about it is magnificent. The food, the service, the pretty and colourful decor. All of it is worth at least ten stars.
G. D.
Had a awesome night with the family, the food was so yummy and the service was fabulous. I got to dance with the belly dancer. Had a great time.
U.
Lovely atmosphere with live dancing, nice food and excellent service. Aayush, the Nepali waiter, made us feel at home.
l. g.
Loved the food, great price and service
A. A.
Quick and courteous service, excellent food.
J. S.
I haven't had much Turkish food before, so I didn't know what to expect. I was 100% impressed by every single meal my friends and I ordered as a share situation. The 6 dips and bread was the best dips and bread I've ever had: fresh bread, very tasty dips and no disappointment. The staff were great - attentive, helpful and timely. The food overall was delicious, quick and fresh. All I can expect from a restaurant.
The Raki tastes very much like licorice water, I gave it a shot to try the traditional drink. I can't say I was fond of it at all, but it's worth a try if you love licorice.
S.
one of the best Turkish flavors that I have enjoyed in my life in a place out of 🇹🇷, I will be back soon! (I was so good and delightful that I forget to get some pictures)
C. L.
Tasty food and good customer service, but the portion of the shared dishes are very small comparing to the price they charge, we feel like the restaurant can be a bit more generous to its customers. It will actually win you back more returned customers than a one off deal.
M. O.
This place is gorgeous! The atmosphere on a Friday night was buzzing as the restaurant’s dancer enchanted diners with color, sound and moves. The Turkish decor was wonderful too and enhanced the whole experience. Our food came out in a timely manner and was quite enjoyable.
L. D.
Great atmosphere & fantastic wait staff service! We were a table of 15 so excellent job looking after us all :)
L. L.
This was first time my spouse and I went to Ahmet’s. Fantastic service- friendly, efficient but not overbearing. Staff were really aware of all the customers. The food was sensational - we ordered Turkish bread, a walnut salad, the lamb and chicken skewers and a pide - it was so delicious - the flavours were amazing. We will definitely be back. Put it on your Brisbane list - at the top! Thanks
R.
The place has a lovely interior and the food is tasty. The Salep (Pistachio drink) is good as well. They have a variety of food choices. It's quite pricey to dine in here but they offer a huge serving so it makes up for it. The service could be improved as I didn't find the staff as friendly compared to other restaurants in Brisbane.
M. “. H.
Friends of ours had been before and recommended it for dinner during our recent stop over in Brisbane.
We arrived on a Saturday night just after 7pm and it was heaving. However, we were offered drinks and these arrived quickly.
We ordered several menu items for both adults and kids, and these arrived quickly and were delicious.
The evening entertainment was great with our daughters being asked to join the belly dancer for some dancing lessons... they had a blast.
the atmosphere was groovy and no one seemed to be having a bad time.
Food service was prompt, given the amount of customers.
Would definitely return!
D. H.
Lovely service, nice food
D. A.
Iskender was so salted, next time i will go to Mado, I believe they do much better
C. P.
Better in a group. For two females the meals were very large and couldn't finish it. Had to try dessert, again too large 4 pieces of orange cake is one serve? $12 would rather just have two pieces and pay $6. Would come again in a bigger group where you can take better advantage of the share options. Ambiance and service was great.
A. L. M.
It was a pleasant experience. The food was nice, the ambience was fantastic, the service was good.
M. S.
Awesome food, awesome service and an awesome experience!
p. b.
Great food and excellent service. Reasonably priced with very interesting food for meat lovers and vegetarians as well. Always difficult to please both camps. Thoroughly recommend.
J. A.
It was my first time at Ahmets and I've been meaning to visit for a very long time. The home made Turkish bread was fresh and was quite filling. The Vege Pide was great too. The service was prompt and friendly. I was a little disappointed with the hummus as it lacked flavour.
J.
No need for words. I hope you try the lamb, salad here. All the menus r bloody yum. My favourite restaurant in Brissie
G. S.
Very good dining place. Food are superb, the lamb is so succulent and the kebabs had a nice char on them me will be back for more
M. S.
The ever best restaurant in south bank and best hospitality ever.every time you walk in you get really warmed welcome.none of the restaurant can’t beat that my perception. love that❤️❤️
R. B.
Popped in for a quick lunch. Service was quick and friendly. The staff really know their stuff and things moved quickly without us feeling like we were rushed. Portions were more than generous, beautifully prepared and tasted great. We struggled to finish. (you know those times when you know you've had enough but it just tastes so good you can't leave it on the plate)
We've definitely found a new favourite and are looking forward to trying dinner there. Recommended!
K.
Love the food. Turkish Steak Life was delicious!
R.
Delicious food, good service and great ambiance. The gozelme and mixed grilled platter were particularly good. I also enjoyed the live band and the belly dancer's vibrant performance.
I would recommend you book a table as there was a huge line outside the restaurant for those waiting who hadn't made a reservation. People's willingness to wait in line just speaks to the great dining experience here.
A. L.
Excellent service and food. Belly dancing was entertaining. Great atmosphere
I. M.
Went with work friends on Saturday and all I can say is wow!!! Amazing food, drinks, atmosphere, staff and show! Will be back soon for sure! Thanks
R. C.
Service was slow , pre booked banquet but ended up leaving before desert and coffee. Food was OK and plenty of it ,just slow so we filled up on the early courses.
p. r.
Delicious food, moderately priced but with generous portions and the quality of the dishes easily justify the cost. Service has always been great. The little traditional bench seats are nice, but will kill your back if you're taller than about 5'10" - that's why there are plenty of tables with "normal" seating too.
Thoroughly recommended if you're in the area and fancy a hearty & interesting meal.
M. B.
Fantastic place, only issue was that the table was too small for 6 people.
s. h.
Mind blowing customer service, and exceptionally amazing Turkish flavors. def. going again and again. Thank you to all staff for your amazing and friendly service. Special thanks to Sebastian for being so on point and friendly. 5/5 for the service, ambiance, food and cleanliness (All to the point). So happy :)
M. M.
The staff are super friendly, the banquet was fantastic value for money and tasted amazing!! Would come back again!
W. S.
Valentine's day... very very busy night. A table was held for me to be able to take my 1yr old and my wife 28weeks pregnant with twins.
I can't thank the manager, Jason I believe and our waiter to take 65 I think it was. We were served promptly and everyone around us was all smiles and the vibe of the restaurant was really warm and welcoming. It's very hard for us to get out of the house much, thing as they are... so making our night special with great food and great service was very appreciated.
I recommend Ahmet's... made our one night out in a very long time pretty special.
S. K.
I was weary about what to expect but I've become a regular after my first visit. The place is beautifully decorated to make you feel as though you left Brisbane and are in Turkey on holiday. The food is reasonably priced and tastes amazing. I would recommend going with a group as the servings are huge and you want to try something from everyone's plate.
C. H.
Beautiful authentic Turkish cuisine. Definitely will be back.
A. M.
I went here with a group of ten for a work party and we were all very impressed with the food and the service. The entertainment was great and we really loved the interactive part.
Expect to pay about $50 plus drinks for a decent meal; in out case we bought a few feasts and ended up paying about $60 each for the night.
The only issue we had was the heat; it was a humid summer night and their air con failed miserably, at least where we were seated in the middle of the restaurant.
D.
Amazing food quality and range. Would recommend to anyone who wants a great feed for dinner. Even the vegetarian food is amazing. However would recommend to reserve a table as it gets quite busy at night
E. v. P.
Food was great however music too loud even after a asking several times
M. M.
Nice place to dine, food was good and service was great. The waiters and manager were all friendly. We had two kids with us and they were very accommodating. We used our entertainment book voucher which was a bonus. Thank you, we will definitely dine again.
y.
Great food and good quantity. If you like Turkish food it’s a great choice. Service was fantastic and very responsive. They made a mistake with our order, but turned a negative into a positive by throwing in a meal for free, which was a nice gesture. It wasn’t my first time there and I’m sure to return in the future.
D. S.
Ahmet’s in my opinion is sort of in the middle
Although the food has delightful taste, the food’s price is really dear and expensive. I ordered beef kebabs and it costed $28!
Um Yeah Never ordered a $28 kebab so um... yeah not good
S. F.
Great atmosphere. Delicious food. Great service.
S. B.
We ordered the banquet and weren't disappointed. We have travelled in Turkey and found the food here delightfully authentic. The dips were fresh, the bread baked to perfection and the meats were tender, juicy and flavourful. Service was friendly and very attentive. I couldn't fault the place at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would definitely recommend this restaurant.
J. P.
We had an unplanned lunch on a Tuesday. We were offered any table we wanted and chose to sit outside.
The menus were offered to us quickly and we were happy with what was available.
Our food and drinks arrived quickly. Particularly, the rose water mocktail was excellent. The pide and the lamb were also delicious.
We really enjoyed our experience and we are looking forward to visiting again.
M. F.
It was the first time I ate Turkish food. Great experience!
It was delicious and not too expensive. The decoration and the spices really make us travel.
In addition, the staff is quite lovely.
I highly recommend
B. M.
Has the potential to be amazing, but isn't quite there yet. We ordered the King's Banquet, not being able to decide on what we would like to eat, and we were stuffed! The dishes ranged from good to amazing. But our highlight was what we ordered specifically for my son - the meatballs. What lets this place down the most is the service. After getting all of the banquet dishes relatively quickly (we noticed several of our dishes go to other tables only to be returned to the counter and out to us), we were then forgotten, and couldn't get the attention of any of the wait staff. I was hoping for another drink, and we hadn't yet received our desserts. We waited for about an hour before I got up to go and pay and ask for our desserts to go. With a little one on tow, it was getting really late. A little more attention to detail and they would hit top marks.
A. P.
I found this place to be surprisingly authentic. Great Turkish food. Rice was a standout. Meat was juicy and tender. Appetisers were hearty and scrumcious. Big Big feed! I wanted to go back the very next day but had to try different places while I’m here in Brisbane. Loved it
P. C.
Food is delicious and great value. Great staff and fun vibes. It’s a classic Brisbane restaurant for a reason.
K. m.
Good pide for lunch however, their water jugs were corroded. So water tasted a bit on the metal side.
E. C.
Good for groups: we bring groups from work here for dinner, people visiting Brisbane like the venue and location, and stroll over the river when weather is good. The menu is ideal for share platters, dips, bread and caters very well for dietary restrictions. Bar menu is reasonably priced although our usual experience is that bar service is slow but food service good. For more intimate dining perhaps inside is better as outside area is set up with a lot of group tables. It is always busy.
B. P.
Had an absolutely delicious lunch from Ahmet's today with my family. They were making do with the current COVID restrictions by offering a set menu, and it did not disappoint. Everything was beyond delicious and topped off perfectly with a jug of Sangria. Friendly staff and excellent service - well done to the team. We look forward to visiting again when you're back at full capacity and COVID is a distant memory.
J. H.
This restaurant creates an amazing atmosphere with the decor and entertainment in the form of belly dancers. The food is great quality, delicious, and unique - unlike anything I've tried in Australia. Prices are on the expensive side, but this is worth the delicious food and experience that Ahmet's provides.
D.
Loved absolutely every food item in the Vegetarian Feast. Aegean Breeze cocktail is amazing. Staff are friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly. Can't flaw anything.
C. M.
I just loved it, wonderful food and service 👍🏼
L. M.
Outrageously delicious food. Fabulous service on a very busy Friday evening. Go the belly dancer cocktail with Turkish delight. WOW.
B. H.
We were seated really quickly, had a few issues, however management were phenomenal with dealing with our complaint. Any food place can have a not so great moment, however it's the way that the issue is dealt with that matters. We could not fault them for this and for this reason we will definitely be back and recommend friends and family.
A. K.
Very nice place showing the Turkish culture. They serve very fast and high quality. Book before you go if it is a very special night as you have to wait in a queue of very interested people.
I tried Mixed grilled, fantastic.
S. B.
Excellent Turkish restaurant, I had great service and food both times I have been here. Brilliant restaurant.
M.
Wowser ... great service, great ambience, great location but best of all great tasty food !!! We are a family of four and we shared 4 dishes. The calamari - cooked perfectly, lamb steak pide - just delicious, chicken charcoal grill - divine and the Mediterranean salad - refreshing!! We couldn’t even finish it all ! The kids also enjoyed the mocktails and the Rose Garden mocktail was particularly good !! 10/10 and I would definitely be back 😊

Only good things to say about this place, a true gem. Delicious food that tastes fresh and perfectly cooked, super friendly and attentive staff, great spot at soutbank and did I mention delicious fresh food?. 5 out of 5 and will be a repeat customer soon.
K. H.
Nice and casual with lovely food and attentive service. Highly recommend the mixed grill and the lamb cutlets! Give it a go! You won't be disappointed!

Me and my wife Jean are in Brisbane for a few days on holidays from the UK. We decided to take a walk over to the South Side for a look at where to eat. We saw the Turkish sign and thought that’ll be a safe bet. We were far from disappointed, it was an amazing experience. The food was perfect, the staff very polite and very attentive. We would highly recommend it. The belly dancer was also very good. Great atmosphere.
G. M.
Loved it one of the better options on Southbank. Went for the banquet 2 and the food never stopped! Make sure you go hungry as you will leave full.
D. H.
A friend was having a birthday, and after reading the Yelp reviews, I wasn't too excited and went in feeling pretty hesitant.
The prices are what you would expect with such a high profile location along the strip in Southbank, though it has to be mentioned that it is very easy to get to, there is parking just on the other side of the road and plenty of public transport nearby.
No complaints about the food itself, it wasn't bad, but now what I would call exceptional. We were there on a Sunday night and there where still a few empty tables. The choice of music was not the best, it was too loud, upbeat, and just didn't make for the best atmosphere in my opinion from what you'd expect in Turkish, but this is something that many Australian restaurants just don't know how to do well. Perhaps us Australians are just ignorant when it comes to that.. It's bearable if you're just there to drink a lot of alcohol and forget everything else, perhaps that's why they play it?
Many of the reviews criticize the restaurant for getting orders wrong, and this was no exception from my night there. They completely forgot to bring out one of my orders! After reminding two waiters of this, eventually they brought out the forgotten dish, however to their credit, they gave it to me for free, so no complaint there, though it was one of the less expensive dishes that got forgotten. The waiters did have a slightly hard time working out the orders from our 10 people strong table, but they can be forgiven as they are quite tricky situations.
It's worth a look if you're in the area and looking for something Middle Eastern, and you're not cash strapped. Not bad, just not the best.

Went for dunner last night and had a great time, the kings feast was well worth the money and the rose garden delight was amazing. The service was fantastic. Went with my wife and parents and my mum and dad really enjoyed the belly dancer. The food was incredible and full of flavors. We will be back for sure, thank you.
M. K.
Absolutely delicious food here. Very tasty cocktails. Fabulous service. We will be back!

Food is great. We had the mezze plate, beef skewers and lamb iskender and all were really yummy.
Beef skewers were served with a discreet flat bread underneath and soaked up all the beef juice. This made the presentation really good.
At the end of the meal we had a warm/hot apple tea and Turkish delight that was included with the mezze plate. Definitely good for groups with the amount of food that is served.
Food is at a reasonable price. Service was very good !

Normally stick to 'tried and tested' restaurants but felt like something different. Was good choice, delicious food. Light entertainment. Would do again.

First experience of Turkish cuisine yesterday, and definitely not our last. From our first contact by phone, taking our orders, even to paying our bill, these guys know how to look after their patrons. Best thing of course was ... The. Food. Full stop. Tasty, perfectly cooked, beautifully presented. Favourite was the charred lamb chops (x4) dish with cucumber yoghurt, rice and salad. Not one unhappy diner in sight, and on a busy night, this is a recommendation in itself. We've already told everyone we can and will be back. Soon.

Ambience, seating and presentation is on point! Quite a vibrant theme to the place. You definitely want to spend a good hour or two with friends or family.
We ordered the mix grill and King's pide. The red meats in the grill were well seasoned. Chicken was a little on the bland side. But both meats were very tender and well cooked.
Prices are on the high end. Expect to spend $50 per pax.

This was my first time eating at a Turkish restaurant, we just stumbled across it and so glad we stopped, This was some of the best food I have eaten the rice was the tastiest and the meat was perfect and juicy, TIP do not fill up on bread first save your stomach. Very good prices aswell
K. G.
Good food and great taste. Enjoyed our dine out with friends. Good courteous staff.
M. P.
Amazing food and service. Ordered Istanbul meze
D. r.
Had an awesome experience here the other night. Ordered the beef and chicken skewers that went perfectly with the suggested red wine.
Staff are also very friendly.
Would definetly eat here again.
A. L.
Came in for dinner before going to a show and found the restaurant to be really full and busy, our waitress was very helpful in ensuring that we got out in time to see our show. We loved the $10 pide special both my wife and i got one each and we were full all night. The atmosphere was amazing and we will defiantly be back.

We went as a group of work colleagues. Firstly, they don't split bills! Which modern business does not split bills? Its just a few cents extra per transaction for the business. The place is nice, but a little too dark for my liking. Also its a little too cosy. When you're eating, your arms hit your neighbour because you're cramped. It has Turkish/middle eastern interior design. Staff are friendly, but the service isn't great. The service is not prompt and staff don't follow instructions properly. One of my colleagues was served with an ingredient she is allergic to, despite specifically asking upfront and being agreed to not include it.
The food itself tastes good, except if you're vegetarian. They have a few vegetarian options if you just want to fill your stomach, but you can't possibly consider it an experience. The prices are also on the higher side in my view yet they penny pinch for everything, even chilli sauce and they wouldn't make the food spicy at the time of cooking when I requested.
There are better options available not far from this restaurant.

Great food I highly recommend this place
.. ..
I always seem to forget how great value this place is because meals are generally $25+ but when that meal could feed me for the next three days it's pretty impressive. Perfect menu for sharing and just delicious every time. Get the cakes. And a takeaway box.
F. W.
We ordered the share feasts. It was so much food, we couldn't eat it all. Too much potato in the eggplant stew (veg feast) as it already comes with a potato salad. Turkish bread was too thick and the zucchini fritters were also very stodgy - needed more veges and less potato again. Apart from that everything was delicious. A good night out, the belly dancer was fun.
D. C.
Can't fault this great restaurant! We had booked prior stating we had our furry babies with us...not a problem.. they positioned us perfectly and even brought water for them!
Food was amazing!..and not measly portions like some other restaurants along Southbank.
Friendly attentive staff and not over the top prices...Ahmets has a great reputation that it lives up to.
J. H.
Reasonable quality food, but nothing special. I always hope to get a gozleme like i had on roadsides in Turkey, but they always disappoint, as it did here. Too thick and greasy. Service was hit and miss. Very keen to clear plates, even while we were still eating off them! The zucchini fritters were pretty good, grilled eggplant needed way more grilling.
S. C.
Good service, great food.
A.
Food was great but service was terrible. Order entrees and mains and drinks. Mains came before anything else and they got our entree order wrong 3 times before it finally arrived. Was stinking hot and no fans or air conditioning. Would go back for the food. Very traditional Turkish and we loved the dumplings. 3 stars only because service was so poor.
C. B.
This was a fantastic night out. The food, service and atmosphere was all very good. We look forward to returning soon.
A. K.
The service varied between waiters, with one doing his best to be friendly and of use, and another giving off an air of begrudging indifference with clear discomfort at putting in any more than the minimum to make us feel welcomed. The food and coffee were quite tasty, we ordered the skewers and the lamb cutlets, which for the price, came with fairly little food, though as mentioned it was quite flavoursome. Also of mention, both the food and coffee were a little below warm. Quite a nice atmosphere however.
R. B.
Situated in a very attractive and competitive area, you’d think your service and food would have to impeccable; that is not the case here. We ordered the King’s banquet for 9, and as far as the entrees and mains are concerned, the food was delicious and the portions were sufficient. However when it came to pay, the waiter was particularly rude about not splitting the bill for such a large booking. If it was 9 a la carte orders I’d understand his position, but this just seems obstructive and unaccommodating. Much like their baklava(which I’d avoid), this left a sour taste in our mouth.
a. w.
Great atmosphere, prompt service, yummy food definitely get the lamb dumplings!
N. C.
First time at a Turkish restaurant, was a large portion couldn't finish. Flavours were beautiful. Excellent service. Extensive drinks menu. Would highly recommend for group dinning.
J. S.
Had a beautiful Thursday evening meal at Ahmets and really enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere in the dining room with all the trimmings of a Turkish restaurant - comfy cushions, bright lights, and colour all around. The food was plentiful and every plate was enough to share with my boyfriend and the price at the end of it all was better than expected. Lovely food and brilliant service.
p. n.
Colorful and interesting seating set up. The couch seating is comfortable, but bear in mind that the couch doesn't have a backrest. The variety in the menu was excellent, all of the starters except for the tiny dumplings were very good. If you have your mind on ordering "Iskender" for your main, starve yourself before going for it and do not go for the starters, unless you can eat a whole lamb yourself, as the portion is huuuuge. Overall Good experience.
M.
We have been coming here for years, great authentic food with a nice location, one of the best restaurants in Brisbane!
The owner is also a really nice guy!
P. M.
I love this place. I ordered delivery last night and am now enjoying left overs for lunch. My current obsession is the zucchini fritters and lamb dumplings. So delicious.
U. N.
Food was absolutely brilliant. Despite a large crowd, service was efficient and friendly.
V. D.
Best Turkish in town, favourite restaurant.
C. S.
My friend and i really enjoyed this restaurant. Food was well priced and delicious. Service was incredible and friendly. Even though it was very busy, we were well looked after by staff who brought out meals and drinks almost straight away. I would definitely come here again with my friends!
G. F.
Food amazing, really great atmosphere and very attentive staff even though it was busy.
Just be aware of one bill per table!
Update 29/07/2020 - have been back multiple times since my review and still fantastic! Was glad to see it busy despite changes with covid. If you haven't been yet, book a table!
L. F.
I just went, and the service was great! The food is amazing with a very large menu, honestly this place is really good. They have entertainment on some nights and it’s a joyful atmosphere. If you haven’t been, you have got to go!
R. P.
Food is top notch! Try the lamb shank! Attentive staff and good selection of drinks. Very clean. New fave! Be sure to book to avoid disappointment.
E. L.
I ordered a chicken pide last time. It was great and would definitely come back!
N. L.
Great gluten free options with generous meal sizes - 1 main, 2 meze plates with bread more than enough for 2 hungry people. I happily joined the belly dancer for a dance when invited for a little bit of extra entertainment.
g. e.
Great menu, something for everyone to enjoy. Very efficient service, even on the busiest of nights. We all enjoyed our choices. Well done
A. P.
Went for dinner. They'd marked on the menu what items could be made dairy or gluten free (and vegetarian) which made this amazing. The waiter we had explained everything and made sure everything came out brilliantly. Loved it!
M. N.
I cannot recommend Ahmet's highly enough. The food was amazing. Last night I had the best lamb I have ever eaten in my life. The staff were warm and efficient, the service was flawless. This restaurant is a great choice for families. My kids raved about their food and loved the colourful atmosphere. We were seated outside beside the window through which the kids could watch the activity in the kitchen. Right across from South Bank parklands, you can take a stroll along the river after your delicious meal. An absolute Turkish delight.
M. P.
Delicious Turkish food served by beautiful Turkish Staff...
W. O.
Great place!! The food was so tasty and yummy. Prices are very reasonable for what you get. I highly recommend visiting Ahmet's on your next visit to South Brisbane.
D. I.
I had an excellent night of dining at Ahmed’s restaraunt with some friends from work. The food was very good but the stand out of the night was the service we received from our waitress Jasmine.
Jasmine was a delight, funny and informative with some great suggestion off the menu. I would go back to this restaraunt just for the service.
The fact that Jasmine also gave us authentic Turkish hats to wear added to the experience for our overseas colleagues.
Z. M.
The food was great and the portion sizes excellent. The only thing was that our waiter, while attentive and present during our first hour, somehow became very obviously uninterested in us and we struggled to get his attention even though there were barely any other guests besides us.
E. S.
Had a great dinner at Ahmets. We had to wait a little to get a table, but it’s a Saturday night so that’s to be expected. However we were acknowledged straight away and told it would be 10mins or so.
We had Ashen Fernando tonight as our waiter and the service was great. Quick to get our orders and quick to deliver the meals all with a smile on his face the whole time.
The food was fantastic and enough to share between a few people. Will def be back to visit again, can’t recommend enough.
J. W.
Great service and good, authentic food. Only negative is $31 for a few bits of skewered meat is quite rich
M. G.
Great restaurant, has a great atmosphere.
Food is excellent
I had an enjoyable experience

Food is supperrrr good.. love it every time i visit... my fav wings and lamb skewers 😍😍
A. P.
Wonderful Turkish food in a setting that is comfortable and eye catching. We always enjoy a night out at ahmets. The pide is fantastic and the dips that they serve with their Turkish bread are some of the best I've ever tasted.
C.
Absolutely the best Turkish food that I have had in years. The staff were easy going and friendly and the place has a warm relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend it to others!
S.
It was a great first impression from the moment we walked in. We ordered a tasting plate. YUM! Loved it!
I would have given 5 stars if the service was quicker. We waited a while for tea and Turkish delight.
D. F.
Good ambiance. Delicious food. Disappointed with the serving sizes for the price they charge. Not worth if you are someone with a big appetite. Spent $200 on 4 dishes and left the place looking for food again.
B. T.
Love the vibe in here. Friendly staff and amazing food!!
C. F.
First time at this restaurant and first time eating traditional Turkish, the staff were lovely and our server ashen Fernando was so catering to a newbie like me, he recommended his favourite meal which has now become my favourite meal. His service was great and I will definitely be returning thanks to ashen.
S. W.
Delicious food at good price! The staff were friendly and helpful. We left the restaurant completely stuffed from eating so much! We ordered the Kings feast Banquet for 2x people and then the Chicken Turlu. We felt that the banquet could easily be shared between 3 people. I would never eat lamb as its too strong a taste but the lamb dishes were delicious!! In my opinion the Chicken Turlu is more of a wintery stew, but very nice. Must go back again soon!
T. W.
Absolutely amazing food, service and ambience. Ahmet's is one of our favourite restaurants.
A. G.
The food and service are amazing, we had the banquet as we have not had Turkish before and we got to have a little of everything, this is something we will definitely have again, there was nothing we did not enjoy, the atmosphere is amazing, a great place to sit, eat great food and be in relaxing and comfortable surroundings.
S. H.
We all had a delicious meal here. Lots of vegetarian options including vege sticks which our daughter loved along with her Gozleme. I enjoyed the pumpkin pide. And service was fast and friendly.
C. C.
Great staff, fast service and meals serves aas fast. The food itself was awesome and plenty of it. We plan to be back again.
N. T.
Very interesting restaurant. Decor is very Turkish (modern)and the food of good quality.
G. W.
Beautiful food. Friendly & helpful staff. Lived up to its reputation. Delish!
J.
We went on a rainy Friday for lunch. The restaurant was almost empty and we didn't have to wait too long for food so I can't comment on busier times. The decor was exotic and the place itself is quite large, it was nice to walk around inside and enjoy the interior. We sat outdoors and had a gorgeous view of South Bank parklands and found street parking right outside which was lucky. The food was quite good, we had the chicken skewers, Turkish kebab with adana, and spinach feta gozleme. The nutella baklava was the standout though- delicious!
A. W.
My wife and I have been to Ahmets twice and to be honest, very different experiences. First time a couple of weeks ago was amazing. Food was delicious, cocktails amazing and service was on point. My wife and I decided we loved the place and wanted to return.
Tonight we tried it again for my birthday. It was pretty quiet and so we figured it would be a good night. We ordered a mixed grill, some turkish bread and hummus. It was pretty below par. The meat was barely luke warm and most seemed over cooked. The meat was like it was kept in a baymarine and not fresh. The same cocktail was super sweet, and the Turkish bread came out 15 minutes after the mixed grill and had the wrong dip.
All up paid an extra 15% for the Public holiday which on the whole i don’t mind paying if the quality and service is the same as usual, but yeah wasn’t worth it tonight. Don’t think we will be back :(
A. B.
Tuesday is my favourite... cheaper Pides, but just as delicious as full price ones haha. Chicken Pide is the best imo. I've been here numerous times over the years and it is always a wonderful experience and exquisite food. The staff are always friendly and the restaurant looks amazing.
B. S.
I don't often eat Turkish food so I asked the waiter what is good. He gave fantastic recommendations so I ordered it all. Try as I might I couldn't finish it all but I was able to take home my leftovers to have another day. Glad I stopped by!
J. P.
Great food would recommend a lot.
A. A.
Food is always amazing and fresh! But be aware if you order delivery through DoorDash -prices there are double compare to prices on the website.
D. F.
Good food worth the money and excellent staff and service
R. S.
Excellent service, great taste and friendly staff. Absolutely loved it. Memorable time spent. Thank u to all staff for todays service.
D. G.
This place is worth trying. They have big portions for convenient prices. Consistently neat and with awesome atmosphere. Will come back again.
M. w.
This is one of the BEST every restaurants I have been to because the rice is 10/10 the mash is wonderful and all the meats are juicy, succulent and moreish. The venue is beautiful and they have the belly dancing (which can be very noisy but is entertaining). Great value / Great food.
J. D.
Fantastic venue, amazing décor, delicious food. What really sets this place apart from others is the level of service we received from Luis, not sure if the level of service is the norm throughout or if this particular person went above and beyond, either way it really helped us enjoy the experience even further.
Well done Luis, for serving us so passionately and for your attention to detail.
K. W.
Really great food! Plenty of vegetarian and dairy free options for lactose free or vegan patrons. Great traditional meal options. Wonderful Turkish inspired cocktails and traditional Turkish drinks available. Some of the best Turkish delight I've ever had.
M. S.
Big plates & tasty food. Looking forward to returning.
K. D.
Such a great experience. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful live entertainment. Delicious food. It was very busy and they managed it well, without having to wait too long to be seated.
C. T.
We arrived at 6ish on a Saturday night, without a reservation. It was really busy, but we were quickly seated. The service was quick and the food arrived exceptionally fast. Food price was reasonable, and our shared meals were delicious.
R. H.
Friendly waiter, nice Turkish food. The restaurant just in the center of Southbank, opposite the cinema.
H. H.
Love this place. Their pide is amazing, and so was the soup. Seats are really comfy, I enjoy having lunch there with my partner, as it is a very relaxing place to be.
F. C.
Great food, great service!
J. D.
Still an excellent place to eat and good value for money! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here last week with family, after having not been to this restaurant for almost 10 years. I recommend the Iskander!
S. S.
Partner and myself ordered the vegetarian feast and I could not fault it. One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. An outstanding atmosphere with live entertainment and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone
S. S.
Great service! Food could be a bit more authentic. Dumplings are not nice - need flavour. The skewers and pide we tried were great.
J. T.
They use ethical meats and local organic produce
S.
Had the best time at Ahmets. Great hospitality. Had the mixed grill and was blow away with the skewers. It’s very easy to over cook the beef but this was perfect.
Try the rose petal mocktail if you’re a non drinker!
R. O.
Wow....absolutely delicious. Awesome value for $$$. We made the mistake of ordering entries and struggled to eat it all but it was to delicious to not finnish.
J. S.
I'm always impressed by the food here and even more so for the reasonable prices. Nice sitting outside but go inside for some interesting decor. Some nights they have a Turkish dancer who will invite you to dance with her. If you say yes, be wary that your friends will probably post a video on social media.
K. S.
Went there today and I have nothing bad to say. had the chicken skewers, highly recommend!!! Service was friendly and quick!
