Trendy kitchen/ bar specialising in Louisiana Creole-style food with a French influence centrally located on Grey Street. Great location for dinner & drinks. I tried the beef brisket which was tasty but a little dry for my liking. Staff were very attentive. Nice vibe it was busy being a Friday night. Recommend booking ahead for a group.

Nothing special in terms of food. Wings were in a smokey heavy thick sauce but the skin on chicken was very thick too. Not so tasty. Sweet potato fries were ok - just typical pub style and quality. The best thing is probably the vibe of this place ... nice furnishings and the staff seem lovely. Ps There are a small variety of lunch specials at around $10.

Been here twice so far and both where great. My party ordered a braised brisket, cheese burger, baramundi and cajun calamari. No problems with anything, it was all delicious. The only thing i hate about this place is the live music comming from the adjacent bar. The times are currently out of date on their website, I did inform staff that it said it was "closed" when I was there so hopefull it should be fixed. Try calling to double check though.

Tiny bit expensive for the size of meals but delicious food, good service, nice atmosphere, loved the 'French Quarter' decor, in the heart of SouthBank, definitely recommend. I'm sure they'd accommodate but it would be a tight squeeze for wheelchair access patrons. Kids felt welcome👍🏼

Went here for a pre drink, before a show. Atmosphere was nice and staff. Ordered a gin and tonic from memory and it was $15 and came in a standard glass with ice, a little disappointed as there were no garnishes at all, not worthy of a photo. The calamari though was so delicious.

I stopped here for lunch today. The service was good. The food was just ok. The sangria was not quite cold and it had a strange taste, maybe an artificial taste or maybe it was too sweet, it's hard to tell. At $14 it wasn't worth it. The corn bread didn't taste quite fresh, and the mushroom sauce it came with was tasty, but a strange choice of accompaniment. The gumbo was nice; I couldn't say that it had a lot of Cajun flavor, but it was spicy and the meat was tender and fresh.

Really an exceptional meal with great service. Unbelievable value. Had two starters the meatballs were sensational. Mains of the most succulent ribs with so much meat melting off the bones and a great gumbo. All washed down with a refreshing and excellent jug of sangria. $65 wow will be back also despite other reviews read on this services was super fast and friendly.

Had a great dinner here. Service was brilliant, with a very helpful and cheerful waitress who checked with the kitchen on when our food would be ready. Without us asking her to do so. It was very nice. That hasn't happened to us in a long time. Good comfort food, at a very reasonable price. Add to that a musician playing live Spanish guitar music, made for a fantastic experience. Totally worth going here.

Very kind staff, great food and lunch specials. The restaurant has a very calm and unique atmosphere and feel, rustic but contemporary, its usually very quiet. Their normal price is average but the portions make up for it. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here, each table has a few table games on it for customers to pass the time. Lucky the food is amazing! My partner and I had a very unpleasant and poor experience with the service at the place last night. The lady who served us initially grabbed our food orders @ 9pm and we didn't receive our food until 10:10pm! Slowly sipping on our drinks the whole time and hadn't been served or checked on the whole time. Only 1 other lady came out to drop cutlery on our table @ around 9.50pm and walked off quickly without saying a word. At 10pm when the same girl who first served us finally came over after an hour she said to us 'are you guys all good with everything? And we told her we are still waiting for food and she was oblivious to it, she even asked us if we received ANY of our food yet, like what?? The place wasn't even that busy! She went and checked and came back claiming it was a technical difficulty with the system! HOWEVER even if it was, none of those waiters even bothered to check on us, neither noticed that none of our food came out. 4 of the Waiters there were talking to eachother lazing around at the counter which was right next to us, numerous times doing nothing and didn't notice that we had been waiting . Really appalling isn't it? We waited a whole hour just to be told our food order didn't even get put through to the kitchen at all, whilst everyone else's order who came after us came out before ours. We have been here a couple times before and only a handful of those times received some inconsistant service but nothing as bad as last night. Oh it gets better! - Once we finished our food at the end, we asked for compensation for the inconvenience. She was going to charge us the full amount if we didn't dispute, which was $93, she then told us we'd get 20% and charged us $80. At that stage we just wanted to get out of there and didn't check the calculation until later on... she was actually meant to charge us $74.40! We are so dissapointed in the service at the place last night and they need to hire more consistent and efficient staff. Its such poor management at the moment, especially for a Saturday night.

It was such a wonderful atmosphere eating at bourbon street. The staff were so attentive and kind. And don't even get me started on the food. I can happily say it's definitely one of the best dinners I've ever had. Will definitely be back and would recommend eating here to anyone!

Good drinks, food is pretty average. The rice dish was really over cooked and seemed to be microwaved but not enough because it was still cold. Table service was bad, no water when we sat down, food came first and then our drinks and that was the last we saw the server.

Being pretty well packed to capacity, we were offered the last seats, right next to the piano. I'm glad we accepted the offer because pianist and local character, 'Chalky Black' was great. Vibrant, jazzy and just great fun. The staff were really friendly and we got our order taken with drinks delivered quickly. We ordered 3 share plates (entrees) between 2 and it was more than enough. The food (The chicken bites, prawns and chorizo) were all spicy, packed full of flavour and completely different. The waitress checked prior to see how hot we wanted it. It was a great experience for my partner and I, just getting in to Brisbane today.

This is an amazing little restaurant. Best cocktails EVER. I highly recommend the “Nice Guy”. Sweet, sour with slightly bitter citrus after tones. Best cocktail I have ever tasted. An unrecognised gem in the Grey Street eateries. I don’t even like chicken wings, but we ordered it to just have some finger food. OMG it was the yummiest thing ever. We had intended to have food, but just kept ordering more wings! The staff has been the best I have seen too. If you look up, they seem to appear out of nowhere immediately. Very attentive. But not obtrusively so. Their buttermilk chicken also yummy. A little bit of the American South in Australia! Go there!!!

Have been coming here with friends for a few time, absolutely love the chicken maryland with waffles and their beignets. My go to cocktail will be dark stormy, which is the tequila with chocolate if I am not mistaken. The staff are friendly and attentive whenever I visit. Definitely coming back for more.

These guys had a vegetarian chowder on the menu. It was wonderful. For a mostly American style dining place, to have this one item meant I could meet up with my friends. Then they did a revamp and new management. Ok. They took away the chowder. Not ok. I have feedback to the wait staff, and she said; “oh, a lot of people ask for that”. Am I missing something then? Give the people what they want!
