3.5 ⭐ fun setting, great place for drinks and lovely service. Menu has a lot of variety however pricing is expensive. We tried the: 🌯 Halloumi chips - can't go wrong, these were so good 🌯 Taco bowl - pretty basic and generic bowl, nothing spectacular, wish there was more sauce 🌯 Chargrilled chicken bowl - nice seasoning however some bits of the chicken was dry, again nothing too spectacular

The selection of food and cocktails were great and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Definitely recommend Comuns Cantons as a place for a quick lunch or afternoon cocktails.

Nice Mexican bites, with a stylish design. There’s both cocktails and a range of mocktails on offer. I’d highly recommend Bubblegum Sour and Smokey Lychee and would definitely be back to try out more cocktails.

Was excited to come back here after many years. Still just as good. Ordered the 3 taco options with pulled pork, crispy chicken and Cauliflower and was very happy with my choice. Crispy chicken and cauliflower taco was way better than expected. Loved the passionfruit martini as well. Service was fast and attentive. Loved the decor and atmosphere. And finally mexican that understands my need for ample salsa! Can't wait to come back again. 5 stars!

This isn's the first time I've come and certainly not the las time. me and my friend came here for dinner on the weekend and the customer service was absolutely amazing! the workers are all so sweet and welcoming, and their manager seems to be very on top of and organised with the place. we were a little concerned we'd show up and not be able to get a spot as we didn't pre book, although we did ! and it was so good, we originally sat outside, but it was a bit windy and asked to move inside, where space was made for us. The food we ordered came within 10 minutes of ordering and was beautiful. 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for a place with great food and amazing customer service. I think this is my new favourite place. We took some photos of the place as it was just too cute and aesthetically pleasing not to!! 100% coming back & suggesting to many friends.

there are two things i look for as immediate signs that i’m going to enjoy a hospitality experience, and Comuna has both neon signs & an abundance of pink cocktails. phoebe, kc & ewan were fantastic. despite it being a fairly busy night, we were served promptly, and were surprised by how quickly the food came! we got the cauliflower & the calamari starters, and the coconut fish, cauliflower, and chargrilled chicken tacos. all were delicious (and even more so with the chipotle aioli on top). the drinks were phenomenal! the pink panther was a fave for our table, but we also tried the palomita & silky lip martini, which were beautiful too.

Dined at Comuna Cantina last night - and wow what an incredible experience. Not often do you get proper hospitality service anymore, but the team here were sensational. A gentleman from Kentucky served us throughout the evening - without a doubt the best service we've received for a number of years. A shoutout to the wider team too, anyone passing by made sure to check in on us, clearing plates, fixing up drinks, hot sauce - you name it. Nothing was a fuss, too hard or too small. Friendly. Prompt. Efficient. Will be coming back here absolutely any day of the week. Highly recommend - friendly, fast and memorable service. Keep up the great work!

Everything is so bang on here! We had 6 different cocktails in our time here and each of them were great little flavour bombs, plus the food was yummy and the the decor stylishly Mexican with a great vibe. Would highly recommend stopping by for a cocktail or 10 with a group of friends.

I've been here twice now and I'm glad I held back my opinion on my first visit. Much better experience second time around, in particular the table staff. Still think value for money is not quite there, $13 for corn chips and around 2 tablespoons of avocado. $24 for three Tacos. Quality of products used is however high.

This is the first time I’ve been to comuna and I love it. It has a great atmosphere, really good music and staff. I had the 3 tacos and I could pick 3 different fillings. These are the best tacos I’ve had. Lamb Ragu, fish, and crispy chicken. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back. I went past the other day and they had a big clear tent. I don’t like it. It looks kind of cheap compared to rest of the restaurant.

I've been impressed. Not only by the food and cocktails but impressed with the service. At first I was taken aback that you had to order a main if you wanted a drink but the sweetie serving us was honestly so patient with all my questions and little requests (even I thought I was getting annoying 😅). I was most impressed with their consideration to my dietary requirements. I asked for no diary on my mushroom burrito so they remade the chipotle aioli specially without the added dairy. The highlight was the hurricane colada. I hate pina colada but this was just sensational (I want the recipe). Also cute place, good vibe. Recommend.

Had a late drink with a friend in the CBD last Thursday night and was looking for some snacks. Liked the busy vibe and got the Tacos and beer. Exactly what we needed! The food was good and well priced for the location. The staff were really friendly (well done Clara on your first night, you did well and thanks for the recommendation!). I absolutely adore the vegetarian tacos. They're amazing! The cauliflower taco with crispy quinoa was so unexpectedly delicious. I love that you can get takeaway jar cocktails too. Went here for lunch. Food is good but the service woeful. We'd pre ordered the banquet in the hope that'd speed things up. But when they asked if we were ready to order food 15m in we realised that wasn't going to be the case. Took more than 90 mins to get to our final course, which we then all had to scoff down to get back to the office on time. No one noticed when we ran out of water and we had to keeping asking for it. They just simply didn't have enough staff on for how many diners they had.

Pretty average food for a Mexican restaurant it's the fancy cocktails that draws you in. Time flys when you're having fun as the saying goes, just be wary if you're with a group of friends catching up there is a 2hr time limit you won't know about when dining here until it's 15mins to go.

Comuna Cantina is a forward-thinking Mexican restaurant. To order, you use a tablet with an easy to use application. The food is excellent, but the Cocktails are absolutely bloody fantastic. If you are visiting Brisbane, do yourself a favour and visit Comuna Cantina for a midday cocktail and snack.

This place was rather delicious and one of the few places I could find arepas at. Although I love thin crispy arepas the ones here were a bit too thin to the point that they tasted a bit like a slightly thicker crunchy tortilla. If they thicken the arepas up a bit to allow them to have more "masa" and reduce their diameters it would be more authentic. That aside the fillings were delicious :) Serving the arepa with fries was a bit odd but I didn't mind because they were tasty and it seems like fries as a side is a staple thing in Australia. In terms if authenticity this place is lacking a bit but the fact that it's around and provides this type of Latin good is great! I think I'll stick to making arepas at home for now but if these guys get tequeños I'll definitely be back.

If you adore pretty cocktails, don't miss this place. Tucked in the city at a corner near Vapiano, this place provides a good range of amazing cocktails and some Mexican flavours to go with. If you happen to be in the city before 6pm, you might be able to grab good Happy Hour deals on drinks (4pm- 6pm, everyday).

I booked a table for my daughter’s 18th and the staff were so lovely and helpful! Nathan especially was friendly and accommodating. We had lunch here a few weeks ago. Some of the staff were really lovely and the food was pretty good. We were there at the same time as an event that was taking place in the entrance of the venue. To enter the venue, we then had to walk around the other side of the restaurant, which wasn't an issue until we had to use the bathrooms. As the event was being filmed, we weren't allowed to walk to the bathroom directly, and had to walk another 150metres to get to the bathroom. I'm not a lazy person, but this really wan an inconvenience as we were drinking and had to use the bathroom regularly. It was clear the focus of the service was directly towards the event. This wouldn't have been an issue if they has just set up the event on the other side of the restaurant so that everyone else could access the entrance and the bathrooms. Cocktails tasted great, but I question the amount of alcohol put in them. Vibes are more for 18 year olds, rather than a place for lunch.

The waiters got both our drinks and food order wrong (two different waiters). This was probably because the music was too loud for the waiters to hear our orders properly. I'm all for loud music if I'm out at a bar or club, but there was no dance floor so the music was just abrasive, and really spoiled our dinner. Perfectly executed Mexican food in a modern setting. Fantastic cocktails, and a quick, modern tablet-based ordering system to make it easy to get the food to your face as quickly as possible. My partner got 3 tacos - pulled beef, fish and Halloumi. The fish was by far the best, and they all came in a generous size that left her stuffed by the end of it. I had the spicy beef nachos, which were amazing - the chilli is smokey and tangy, and the dish comes with plenty of delicious cheese melted through it. The mojito was very tasty, but could've done with less ice I think, as it kept spilling out when I tried to mix my drink. The pina colada was also quite good, but perhaps a bit too strong on the alcohol, which ruined the balance a bit. Overall a great experience that perfectly hit the spot!

Absolutely over the moon with how nice the place is looking (the new venue is amazing!) and how well we were looked after by Jordan, who was the waiter for our group. The cocktails were to die for! Thanks to the staff in the city today for lunch. We were walking by we weren't going to stop because every single table was full and I mean every table but we only decided to eat and have a drink because the manager had took her time to greet us and we felt so comfortable and we were just walking by. She squeezed us in and was accommodating. Had the nachos and salad and wife was happy with the salad. Drinks came out fast. I didn't get time to really thank everybody so here it is- never in my life have I been treated like family at venue and I've traveled all over the world with my wife. From just walking by being welcomed in and having the manager take care of us we felt like home. The young girls who took there time to come take out drink order we're so polite. Super fun busy restaurant. I wouldn't of known you were open for minimal time because staff were well trained, food was so quick, and drinks were to die for. Even the bar lady knew stuff to do with the kitchen food and ingredients just wow. Everybody so knowledgeable. The mojito was so refreshing with fresh ingredients even the mint! Favourite place to be. Only downfall is the cactus that pricked me on the way in.

Visited a few nights ago with a group of friends for a birthday and had such an amazing time! myself and hubby ordered the pulled pork nachos, so tasty and the guacamole was to die for... best guacamole i’ve had in any mexican eatery! For drinks I had a timtam espresso and hubby had a hurricane colada, we loved them and the decorations were a nice touch! Customer service was also fantastic! We were looked after by two waiters, one of them was a female with brunette hair, the other was a male (also brunette), unfortunately didn’t get their names as we forgot to ask, but they were both so polite and attentive! loved the DJ on the night too! overall a really pleasant experience and the atmosphere was just incredible! I’ll be back to hopefully try more of the cocktails too as choosing just one was difficult enough! Brisbane needs more eateries like this...

A really cute restaurant!!! the food here is pretty good!! We ordered the spicy beef burrito, really nice! Packed with a lot of ingredients and was very tasty and filling! Downside is, it is quite expensive. Also got the cauliflower entree, really tasty!! never ever had deep fried cauliflower before and it was a great first experience! Entree was cheap considering how much they gave us!! Had two cocktails, one easy as pie and one pink panther, easy as pie was pretty nice~ the top mousse like part was a bit too sweet though and took up around half of the glass. Pink panther was amazing!!! Lovely combination of sweet and sour~ also very pretty with a paper butterfly as decoration~~~ We sat outside which was nice as it was cool with the wind, but noisy and loud due to the traffic and road being right there, and everyone sitting outside is talking loud as they are all trying to talk over each other to be heard. Staff were alright, not the friendliest, and kept walking too close to the table to constantly look for empty plates to collect, made us a bit edgy. But overall, lovely restaurant!~ Food and drinks a bit on the pricey side, but overall I would say it was worth it~ Would be 5 stars if the prices weren't as high!~

We went to Comuna for a dinner with collegues after a busy week at work. The food is excellent, however a huge let down was the crazy loud music at just before 6pm. We couldn't even hear each other speak and people behind us were shouting to be heard and that made it worse. It was like being in a night club. To make matters even worse, there was a guy trying to play a set of electric drums to the music in the resturant. He would intementaly stop and then start again out of beat to the loud music. Highly recomended for the food, but crazy volume of music. We asked if the volume could be turned down, but was told no. I would say 5*s for food, but trying to make it a night club at 6pm on a Friday was a big let down.

Ordered the chips platter and 3 tacos, the chips were tasty and out of the three tacos (Cauliflower, grilled chicken and pulled pork) the cauliflower was the absolute winner. The meat was very dry in comparison. Only drawback was the music being too loud to speak and my margarita was undrinkable as the salt rim overpowered the drink.

The drinks... welll the sangria was a little bland, but the other cocktails were received by my friends with no bad comments. and we really worked this menu over. Not only is this place incredibly insta-worthy, but their food is mouth-watering. Definitely worth the price, especially if you have time to make it during the weekdays when there are very few people. The service is amazing with great people working the staff, always willing to chat and get to know you if they aren't swarmed with customers. I'm not sure how anyone could give a bad review about this place. Nothing is perfect but this place is amazing. I am from the US and I have been working in restaurants for 17 years. In the states, it's all tips, so the incentive to perform and entertain is relevant. However, in Australia there are not tips. Yet, we were greeted promptly with a smile and sat right away. We were given an over view of the menu (which we had never recieved in the two weeks prior of dining out every meal). The server came back to check on us and actually talked with us. Gave us great recommendations for future dining. Now let's get to the food! Easily put, amazing! Long story, their attention to detail is evident. Very flavorful and well balanced. So good we came back twice! The second time we came, they remembered us, even the kitchen staff greeted us and later helped clear our dishes and checked on us. The mocktails are amazing! I have been bartending for years and have been sober for the last three years. It was great to be able to get fun, creative, and very tasty drinks. Great team work, great attention to detail, and it just seemed like they actually care.

The best chilli con carne I’ve ever eaten! I went to comuna a few days ago with my boyfriend for the third time but I couldn’t stop myself to write a review this time because they succeeded my expectations again! We had halloumi chips to start with. Pork burrito, chilli con carne and 3 tacos ( fish, chicken and pork, for just 22 $,) to follow and a beautiful chocolate mousse to finish, garnished with fresh fruit and white fairy floss on the top. They offer gluten free dishes, as well as vegan and vegetarian for those who are interested in! Everything came out very quickly and was very filling! The environment was nice and the position perfect, in the CBD. The service was good and the waitress that was looking after us (I think Sara was her name) was lovely and seemed happy to help us with our requests. Not to forget for the cocktail lovers ! We didn’t feel like drinking alcohol that day but the cocktail list was amazing, using even Nutella in their cocktails! Wow! We will definitely come back again!
