Pros: - Ambience - Food Presentation - I would highly recommend the chicken wings, arancini and falafel burger. Cons: - The place is not very well equipped to cool down for the summer or handle the monsoon. - The Lamb curry: Lamb was dry, and rice portion was wayyyyy too small. Come on guys, rice barely costs anything for you. Increase the amount please, bcos at the end i was left with soooo much curry and no rice. I really liked the curry though. This place is perfect for Spring and Winter time. Nice place to hang out with friends… its a little pricey but I understand its in the heart of the city.

Came here for breakfast. Ordered Avacado on toast with ham and a drink. Nice place in the hustle bustle of the main street. Fresh air and lot of natural light The food arrived in a good time. The eggs were poached very well. Just the way I like it. The portion was big and filling. Will try this place again.

Best breakfast I ever had. Well cooked, perfect toast and delight textures, well combined with the correct temperature. The staff was great, care and kind. Service was very quick even though was bit busy. Im so impressed by the amount of tables in place compared to the size of the kitchen, the chefs must be a bunch of well trained soldiers ready for a big blast of hungry customers. My congrats to everyone here, the site its an exceptional option to go anytime.

Bartender was lovely, knew his gin which was nice Menu had some interesting ideas but not always executed well. The lamb shank was too overpowered by the sauce and was more like a stew, couldn’t taste anything other than the sauce and got bored of it quickly. The pork belly was nice, although a little on the dry side but good flavour. The halloumi starter was way overpriced for what it is, too thick of a cut and the flavours didn’t work. Staff were friendly and service was fast.

My favourite place since i arrived in Brisbane in 2017. Nice and city ambience. Open air and nice food. Always enjoyed time spent here. In the heart of city, Queens st. Garlic bread wins the heart ;)

I couldn't find anything to fault about Jimmy's. The location is nice, the service is professional and fast, the food - fantastic. I had the Club Breakfast here yesterday and everything on the plate was delicious. I can tell they use fresh produce and season everything very well. It wasn't cheap, but for something so good, what do you expect? I will definitely come back here again.

The food was relatively good, especially the lasagna and DEFINITE must try are the truffle aranchini balls. However, the deserts were somewhat disappointing :( that’s alright though. The ambience and service were alright. A pretty good place to have brunch at but probably not for a dinner i guess.

Great for a quick takeaway coffee which is well made, or for an aperitif in the covered but open air venue. It's a little oasis in the centre of the mall.

Popped in the morning for a couple of takeaway coffees. Location is great, right on the mall. Plenty of seating both for dinner, drinks and takeaway. Coffee was ok, don’t know what was going on but because my wife’s coffee was aweful (she threw hers in the bin immediately). Also, don’t mean to be too negative but if your making coffee in front of customers, missing the cup and pouring milk all down the side just looks sloppy. Suspect they were so busy this morning that a little care was missing. Anyways, coffee was average. Would come back again to try the food. Looked solid.

Prime location in the heart of Brisbane City!! Open air seating means this is a great bar for a quick drink with some nibbles or for a long relaxing stay. The cocktails here are amazing and so refreshing. Service is superb so this is a fantastic place to go on a date, with family or a group of friends!

Jimmy's in every way exceeded our expectations. The staff was so warm and friendly on arrival and throughout our dining experience- especially the night manager, she was very accommodating and lovely. The food had good portions and was excellent taste and presentation. We told the manager about how good the food was before leaving. It was a wonderful experience and I definitely would recommend this place for any future events.

The location is conveniently in the middle of Queen street mall. But the food and service could be better. We had wine but asked the waitress for water which she forgot until we reminded her. The food was alright- presentation looked better than taste. The ribs was a confusing dish. It was cooked for hours, then deep fried in batter and coated with soy sauce- it did not taste good! Everything else was mediocre.

Really nice fresh Vietnamese salad, was well balanced and flavorsome. Friend of ours got a Pad Thai and loved it. Would definitely eat here again. My only gripe is having quality gin and other spirits but not premium mixers but get charged premium prices. Post mix ruins a nice spirit.

Jimmy's is getting back into the swing of things. Excellent service, great location - cool position above the mall for people-watching. Good covid-safe measures in place. We are keto conscious so when we ordered lunch I asked hesitantly if I could ask for 'no rice' with the Wok Vegetables with tofu, and no chips with the 400gm Steak with mushroom sauce and salad. Not only were they happy to modify our order, but they added extra salad, and had a chat about keto when I mentioned it! Not every place is happy to make changes, and although these were minor, nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic all round - would recommend

Took 50mins to an hour for a bowl of chips. Had to ask where it was. Apparently the waiter had marked it off as delivered. No biggie was just a bowl of chips.. would've been pretty annoyed if it was a meal though. Nice place, nice atmosphere and nice staff.

A really great location in Queens Street Mall. Sitting upstairs we felt the cool breezes and it was very pleasant as it was partially open. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. A great bonus was being able to buy a carafe of wine rather than a glass or a bottle. Highly recommended!!

Top spot for a drink and a meal in the Queen St Mall .. Were playing good tunes and the rugby league game was live on TV.. Nice heaters to warm up on a cold July night in Brisbane...Now it's Summer is a nice shady Oaks from the Summer heat with a nice breeze. Manager Sullivan Mahu runs it well and staff Navin, Aaron and Sully were friendly, efficient and served me a palate cleansing Stella Artois and the recommended Shiraz quickly .. It was excellent! Lovely Nel greeted me at the entrance with a friendly greeting and a smile and quickly helped me get the registration done. Ivan, Alex and Hendrix behind the bar also provided a great standard of service with a friendly smile and a chat! .. A must visit! Highly recommended!

Went for breakfast, meal I wanted wasn't available. They seemed to be under pressure, food came out slowly and lack of attention by wait staff meant we had to get up and ask for cutlery, water etc. The food itself was fine but being in a larger group felt like we were a bit of an inconvenience.

Had dinner on our only night in Brisbane. Great location, well cooked beef fillet but the rump steak(surf n turf)was a bit chewy. We were disappointed with the serving a bit. First waitress said we could eat dinner upstairs but we were sent down by a staff upstairs, told us the dinner is downstairs only..great! We waited for A GLASS for our beer for more than 10 mins. My husband had to get up and get it himself after asking from 2 waitors. There was a change of the shift and we were served with this waitor at the end. He was good. I say if we want a nice fillet steak, perhaps we go back again.

Had an awesome evening at Jimmy’s on Saturday. The service from our waitress and manager Ivan was incredible- they took really great care of us. We had the delicious Moreton Bay Bugs and enjoyed some lovely drinks. Will definitely be back and would recommend.

Had dinner here on Saturday with a friend. Walked in with no booking around 8pm and were seated right away. I had the Hainanese chicken rice ($26) which was delicious, however would have liked a larger portion for the price. There was a nice cool breeze that night so it was comfortable sitting downstairs. It’s an open venue and I was sitting at an outer bench seat with my back to the pedestrian traffic so I was mindful of not placing my belongings next to me. Service was friendly and efficient, overall we enjoyed our dinner here.

Nice place, relaxing vibe and friendly staff. Communication was lacking in terms of how to make an order. I was under the impression that there was table service here, however this is not the case. You will need to order at the counter. I had their unique recipe of english breakfast tea and milk on the side. The tea was great and quite a rich flavour with a hint of a caffeine hit. The decaf latte in a mug was not the greatest. The milk texture was too watery and not very creamy. Thank you.

Location is a plus point for this restaurant. It’s in the middle of the street next to a few malls. They have the option of upstair and downstair seating area. We chose to sit upstairs which was quite crowded, not surprising for a Friday night. Vibrant atmosphere and festive crowd. Good place to enjoy your drinks and have a conversation. Food tasted excellent as well. I ordered for Rump Steak. The meat was succulent and juicy tossed in mushroom sauce. Quite flavoursome. Had a good time at this place.

Once again, Jimmy's has delivered. My friends and I enjoyed beautiful meals, with well balanced flavours. Our steaks where prepared exactly as requested. For a beverage I'd recommend the house gin to be enjoyed in this warmly lit, open plan modern restaurant in the heart of the CBD. Located a short stroll from underground parking and public transport. Last of all, the staff were all friendly, helpful and patient. Much recommend this venue for anything from a classy breakfast to a fine dining experience.

Love going to jimmy's after work for a sneakie bevy and nibbles. Great customer service. They do cocktails aswell. If you don't feel like a cocktail on the list they are happy to make you something. Especially if you don't know what you want they have suprised us a couple of times and we've enjoyed it everytime. Great place to dine.

Always on my go to list when I’m in the city! The Viet Bowls are must try’s and the Beef Noodles is definitely worthy of a mention. I do miss the pizzas tho 🥲 … but all in all it’s reaaally well put together modern bistro food Portions are well sized, well priced too considering location and overall quality. Been coming here for years for a sneaky pint and hours of people watching from the top balcony … easily loose an afternoon just enjoying the city from this spot. Easy 9/10 ✌🏼

I love having a beer at Jimmy's. So much eye candy. I live in bundyberg and so I don't get to the big smoke often. I love watching the passing parade while scoffing down a cold brew. Downside is exotic beers, I like good old XXXX. And of course the cost. $12 bucks for a pint, well worth it in my opinion

Breakfast menu was okey and I found a little overpriced for just one toasted bread, eggs and few veggies. Staff is friendly and good services. However, I do prefer local cafes at West End, for less prices you can get much better quality food and I can support local cafes and baristas.

Jimmy's on the Mall is an Awesome Cafe/Restaurant in the outside centre of Queen Street Mall. I haven't eaten there yet though I'll need to get around there again soon. Nice and professional staff to take orders, bar area upstairs with an open space restaurant. Plenty of seating upstairs and downstairs and fantastic location for shopping also. Local souvenir shops, fashion, David Jones Department stores or luxury wear stores. Book at Jimmys on the Mall now to book your family, friends, business or whatever functions you like. Awesome coffee, never tastes weak, bitter burnt or watered down.

Yummy whole Baby Barramundi fish dish. I think it's the best fish dish I ever had in Brisbane's restaurants so far. The steak is below average and pricy for the quality.

Convenient bistro in the centre of the mall. Dining upstairs there's always a bit of a wait having to order at the bar, but downstairs has full table services. Pizzas are also available when dining upstairs. Lunchtime is always busy, but weekday evenings are easy to get walk in seating. Desserts are delicious and main meal portion sizes are large enough to share between two.

We stopped in for a quick drink whilst perusing Queen Street Mall. We were checked in via the QLD COVID-19 safe app, and then asked if we wanted to be seated upstairs or downstairs. We made our way upstairs, and found seats. There were only two tables left at around 2pm. We ordered at the bar, and it pleasantly wasn't crowded. Drinks were ordered and back at the table within 10 minutes. (The keg had to be changed over so slight delay on the beer). But they brought this to the table whilst waiting. One pint of Stella and a Vodka Soda was $24.00. I will state that I found it annoying there were no prices listed for the spirits, as they all vary In prices. Overall, nice ambience and scene. The bar is in dire need or a good scrub, as there are marks everywhere from spilt drinks etc all down the front of the Gold bar upstairs. Aside from that, quite a nice stop for an adhoc drink.

Went with my family on a Sunday morning (03/01), the staff was very friendly and welcoming upon entrance. We ordered food and all was well. Drinks had all arrived and food began arriving, only for the staff to approach my father and say they were out of the banana bread he had ordered and asked if he would've wanted to pick something else. Although limited by dietary restrictions, the staff were helpful in finding something else suitable for him to eat. Upon recieving my club breakfast, I noticed it seemed to be missing the house-made sausages and so we asked the staff, who apologised and said they were out of them and had replaced them with a few pieces of bacon. That was fine, but a little communication regarding the lack of sausages at 10:30am and the lack of banana bread would have been appreciated much earlier into the visit, since I wouldn't have ordered what I did had I known there were no sausages. Additionally, there was a hair in the poached eggs, but upon showing it to the staff they took the plate away and offered to remake the dish. I have previously eaten here before and it was wonderful, so perhaps it was just our group's unfortunate luck that morning. Regardless, thank you to the floor staff who remained friendly and welcoming.

Sub par service and sub par food for the price they are asking, unfortunately. I went with three colleagues for lunch, took a whole to be seated, waitress looked disorientated and was flustered, it was a hot day so I let that slide. Waited over half an hour for food though we didn’t order entrees so the main should have come out faster I believe. Took ages for any waiter to come near us.. The food was good but had bland and tasteless patches throughout. I’ve been here a few times before and still yet to see improvements.

We had been to this place 3-4x in the past. It was actually nice the other times. This time the service was subpar! - first we get handed the breakfast menus as we sit down. Just as we order they go, sorry we are now not serving breakfast and we need to wait for 30mins until the menus change. Then she just walked away. Why hand us the breakfast menu in the first place? Should have just told us from the get go. - They were pretty rude as well, the staff felt like they were “over it” all. Any question we asked was too much for them. They felt like they all wanted to go home in the middle of the day. As she took our order for coffees she was staring at us with the hurry up face...I don’t know go ask someone else face...and Was simply disinterested with a lot of attitude. - we then had coffees that weren’t extra hot, when we asked for it to be made hot. The second lady in the blue shirt came to us and said...sorry but they were.... as if she had tasted it? Then she said because it’s windy it won’t ever be extra hot. However she would do it again in a takeaway cup..unnecessary comment if being bought out straight away. When she came back 10mins later, she said oops we have no more almond milk left do you want something else. Nothing wrong with that but it took them time to come back and say that. - the next staff member who took our lunch options (after that 30min wait) was lovely and she was helpful, patient and pleasant. More of the team need to take a page from her. Her English wasn’t great but she was putting in effort and just friendly overall which was nice to see. - The hot Chocolate was great and the staff who delivered that was very friendly. Lunch was tasty too The food quality, the presentation and the staff member who took our lunch order is the reason we are giving a 3 star rating. It would have been less if solely based on the first 2-3 staff members (entry / coffee order / coffee feedback)

However, the sausage was strangely sweet, as well as the caramelized onion on top. Which just made it extremely sweet - something you don't expect for Baked Eggs. Staff and atmosphere was great! The meals here are pretty good maybe not fantastic but they are pretty tasty none the less. The maze plate of nibbles is really good if you and your partner are enjoying a couple of drinks during the late afternoon. Drink prices are average but far from a cheap place without being excessive. I would recommend to eat and drink here.

I've had a meal here before but was very impressed with my last outing. Service was very polished and timely however the meals blew me away. The entree of prawn dumplings were sublime - as good as any I've had before (and I'm a seasoned yum cha aficionado). We shared the barramundi and pork belly mains. The fish was cooked perfectly and all the elements of the dish were fantastic. The pork belly was simply superb and will probably be the benchmark for all pork belly meals I have from hereonin - the only downside was the mango/sprout salad which appeared to be lacking a dressing (but minor when the other parts of the dish were done so well). All in all it made for a memorable night out.

Geez........My husband & I wanted to dine here tomorrow for lunch but after reading the reviews, I'm now in two minds. We had planned to sit upstairs but the menu differs to downstairs; much more variety downstairs. No doubt there is a reason for this. If staff are rude or meals aren't up to scratch, my husband will surely say something as he has worked in hospitality for years. I understand we all have different tastes and expectations but there could be too many complaints for us to try Jimmy's especially about the staff, value for money, service and delivery delay. I hope management has taken these comments on board as it's such a great location. Also, I do find it unusual that you can't book. My CEO enjoys business meetings outdoors enjoying wonderful Brisbane weather but I won't consider a restaurant if I can't make a booking. There have been times I've needed to book a restaurant for international guests but can't afford to risk it if I can't book and to ensure my guests will be satisfied. As you can't post unless you allocate the stars, I have done in the middle; as previously mentioned I have not dined here.

First off let me say i am absolutely gutted they have changed the sizzling satay chicken since they re-did the place. It was expensive but amazing, and now the satay chicken is nice but nowhere near what it used to be. Overall Jimmies is very expensive for what you get, but you are paying for location. The service is generally pretty good, and the wait times for meals are reasonable. The quality of the food is nice, but very expensive for what is essentially just nicely dressed up cafe food. Only complaint apart from the price is that the tables are packed together far too tightly which can impact your dining experience.

Had the Sticky date pudding, which isn't usually my choice when there's lemon meringue or pavlova on the menu, but it was good! The pudding itself was more of a fluffy cake, but the flavours were beautifully spiced and balanced. The ice cream was lovely and creamy and provided a nice contrast in texture and temperature. Now, the butterscotch sauce was devine in its own right, but I found when paired with the Sticky date ended up being a bit too sweet for my taste, so loved the fact it came in its own little pot so you can add to your personal taste. I got greedy and paid for it with a sugar overdose, but no regrets!

I had the breakfast bowl (pictured) More than enough milk, tasty yoghurt, the berries were very fresh and flavourful. Some of the dried fruit in the muesli was quite hard, chew carefully! Cloudy apple juice was exactly what I needed, tart but sweet. Service was lovely, quick, overall a nice way to start a day.

Best thing about this place is that its open 24 hours and serves food untill 2 am everynight. After 2 am they serve cakes and coffees untill morning. They have a great range of food and beverages, and desserts. The portions and the quality of their food is great however I think it is an expensive place to dine in. But its fair to pay a little extra to be able to have access to foods, coffee, drinks etc anytime during the day and night. We ordered the beef burger and the lamb burger and we were happy with both. The staff were quite friendly and repetetively came to inform us that we had to finish our drinks before 12.30 midnight. Overall I think this place is great and would love to try their full manu during the day.

I have been here twice on trips to Brisbane. The bar and restaurant are on a split level, all the seating is outdoors so probably not the best choice during winter. The seats on the periphery are very close to pedestrians on Queen street, so be careful of pickpockets, not that the Brisbane CBD is dangerous by any means. The toilets are located upstairs where there is another bar with a very extensive range of spirits. I had the beer battered Hoki and Wedges, served with a quinoa salad and tartare sauce with a squeeze of lemon. The batter was really thin and crispy but not at all greasy and the wedges were perfectly cooked, again not greasy. The potato skin was crispy but the inside was warm and fluffy, the oil had not penetrated the skin, again exactly how wedges should be cooked. The fish was flavoursome and again not greasy. On the second visit I had the Lamb Curry, not as good as the first meal but again not a bad attempt at a tricky dish to prepare. The lamb was quite tough, and slightly fatty, although the ginger rice was perfectly cooked. This comes served with a fruit chutney sauce and minted yogurt. There are also papadums served alongside the rice to dip into the curry. Expect to pay premium prices given the location, but then again there are worse options at the same or higher prices nearby.
