The food is always nice, you order and pay inside and get a table number. Get there early as it can get very busy. Typically a meal costs around $22 for crumbed fish and chips. Menu has gluten free options.

Very positive surprise. After checking the rather average reviews we were reluctant to have our dinner here but the experience was superb in every way. Fast, efficient, attentive service, a nice romantic location and food that was just delicious. The meals were lovely presented in an upper-scale and creative way. Everything tasted well and there were fantastic and advanced combinations of ingredients and spices. We loved both the main meals and the desserts. Not your average meal out, quite the opposite! A very unique experience! We will go there again before QPAC performances as they also consider the time of your show start.

Absolutely first class food and service. The menu is modern and the cooking and presentation is exemplary. A wonderful restaurant for a pre- theater dinner. The food came out very promptly leaving plenty of time to enjoy without feeling rushed.
I had The Caramelized pumpkin and sesame parfait with Parmesan cream ($18.50)The flavours were light and balance with wonderful presentation followed by Cone Bay barramundi with ancient grains and pea puree ($33.50). The fish was outstanding beautifully cooked and and the accompaniments great. For dessert , I was being a hog and had plenty of time, I had their Chocolate Delice (14.50) and again great but a little to rich for me.
The service was great and attentive even though they were extremely busy. I cant wait to go again

Excellent place for pre theatre dinner. The crew really understand the need to be in your seat on time. Great food, wine and service

Most amazing, delicious food.. credits to the chefs and the team.
Looking forward to coming back soon.

Great to have a fine dining restaurant before you head into a show!
Good size portions - Cooked well but meals did need me to add seasoning which for fine dining shouldn't be the case :(

Sensational Food and service and a great treat before seeing a show at the Lyric Theatre. I like to look a show, parking and dinner at Lyrebird to enjoy before a live show. The service is great the food is sensational and we always book the set menu so you get a choice of two different selections for entree, main and dessert but usually you can pick two courses or pay a little extra and have the three course. Our photos say it all the food is amazing.

An excellent place to visit for dinner before a show at QPAC. The staff provided excellent and friendly service and the food was delicious and was delivered promptly. I will absolutely be visiting again.

My mother and I had 3 courses and every bite was literally exceptional. The service was spectacular from the moment we were greeted to the moment we left. Our server, Rod, was excellent and I could not fault his service. A special shout out to Ned, he did not serve us but he was very attractive.

Excellent service and meals not to mention how seamless is to dine here before a show.

Beautiful meal, atmosphere, attentive service and excellent venue before a show

When you see a show at QPAC, it's often convenient to combine that with a meal before hand. There's plenty of choice for bars and restaurants in the area, and within the QPAC complex itself you have the choice of the outdoor bistro or the indoor Lyrebird restaurant.
Everything about the Lyrebird experience was top notch, including ensuring we made it to the show in plenty of time. I only felt the decor/ambience to be a bit lacking.

First time here before going to Club Cremorne. Service was first class and food amazing. Only losing a star as husbands steak was over done after being quite specific he'd rather it be more on the medium rare side than medium well done. It was medium/well but still a good meal overall. Barramundi was beautiful.
M. K.
Great start with the spanner crab entree however was left disappointed with the mains. Beef was good and cooked well however the barramundi was bland and boring. For the price point the mains need to be updated. Wine selection was good. Service was amazing. Would not return for the same menu, maybe when they update.

This is a great place to go for High Tea before a QPAC matinee and a glass of bubbles.

I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough.
Went on a Saturday night, two weeks ago (just before seeing the Book of Mormon) and without a reservation. We have been before as well.
Ordered the fixed menu 3 course option and the food was just immaculately prepared, served and tasteful!
The staff were constantly vigilant, filling wine glasses without asking, checking if the food was OK and also asking if we were ready for the next course (as opposed to just being served one on top of the other).
The food was beautifully prepared, presented on the plate and full of flavours and taste! Just a fantastic night, as it has been the other times we have been to the restaurant (always before a show and usually on special occasions like birthdays etc). Cannot recommend this restaurant enough - truly a fine dining experience.

Dinner before the show - the Illusionists, staff are aware of show starting times. Wanted a light meal so only ordered the vegetarian entree.
It was a visual feast for the eyes and a delightful dance on the tongue.
Service is exceptional.
Highly recommend

We happened upon Lyrebird whilst looking for a spot to eat on a busy Saturday night. Although fully booked, our delightful host (Thomas) and restaurant manager made room to accommodate us even though we didn't have a booking. The food was amazing - definitely fine dining and worth the price, and the atmosphere was delightful. It goes without saying that the service was outstanding. I would highly recommend Lyrebird to anyone looking for a great experience (and looking to spoil themselves a little bit).

The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be going there again.

Expecting authentic Russian fare. Borscht was disappointing as not a soup at all. Pilmeni was nice but the "crackling" disintergrated in your mouth and stuck to your teeth. Duck and steak were good although small portion. Dessert was nice. Really not good value at $85 pp though. Small portions, not enough for a man. House champagne $14 a glass.

High Tea was 5 star with everything so freshly made and the highlight being a pot of Earl Grey Tea...best I've tasted. A real treat well worth the modest price. Service was excellent.

We had a wonderful high tea about 2 weeks ago before a matinee. Beautiful food, attentive staff in a pleasant setting. The tea was so good we had another pot.
T. B.
Food was great but only craft beer served in the restaurant - there should have been at least one commercial beer (bottle) available for patrons who don't like craft beer.

even though the maitre'd said we had booked for 5 pm. and I have a confirmation of our booking for 6.15, we had a delicious dinner with almost silver service table service. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner before "Aladdin". Food terrific

Enjoyed our High Tea before the show. Thanks.

Very nice experience. Atmosphere was pleasant. Seated almost immediately. Food was excellently presented and tasted beautiful. There was continuous attention to the table without being too invasive. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

Attentive service and an impeccable menu with affordable well mixed cocktails - always an anticipated culinary delight before a QPAC show - 5 stars would come with broader menu choice.

I came for dinner without reservation and he still let us in. The service was very quick and the meal came to us quick. It was delicious and the meal was a decent size and reasonable price. I will be back again.

A great place to eat before going to the theatre. The menus is designed so that you finish in time for a show, and the auditorium itself is just a short walk away.
