Great service all day. We chose the Banquet and struggled to finish it. Dishes are presented beautifully and great fans of flavours. Great Cocktails too, the Madame Wu is highly recommended and the Sichan Margaritas are a great tool.

Nothing spectacular ♤ Char siu bbq pork - strange combination, pork didn't taste very fresh & was dry ♤ Tang sui chicken - very flavoursome, some bits were again dry but still enjoyable

Came here during lunch and we ordered the lunch banquet. Location wise, it’s great because you can see the view of the brisbane river well & it was very relaxing at that time of the day. 20 out of 10!!!! It’s our very first time here and we had the banquet 2. Every single dish was on point especially the Bug meat with XO sauce. The cocktails were delicious. Not only was the food exquisite, the service was amazing. I emailed ahead as it was a special day and not only did they note it down and organised what I requested, the team members knew and was able to converse with us with that extra care. That extra mile really went along way. I think it’s my favourite restaurant now!

Had a fantastic meal here and the hosts were super flexible and accommodating. Had the pescatarian banquet for $80 and we were all very impressed. All the food was very, very good with a few knock-out dishes (bugs, salmon salad, prawn toast). The service was very friendly and the food came out quickly (maybe a smidge too fast for us to savour each dish, but did not dampen the evening). Cocktails were great and the location is fantastic for views of the Story Bridge and Kangaroo Point. Definitely will be back - thank you Madame Wu

Met with another couple for an early dinner. We ordered the banquet 1. Service was impeccable. We were very happy with the food although we couldn't finish all the courses. My fav was the smoked trout salad (I normally don't go for seafood but it was delicious!) The veggie sides were very good. The boys loved the deep fried chicken ribs. The only dish I didn't enjoy was the lamb it was a cut with a layer of fat under the crispy skin and had a strong lamb flavour (I'm not faulting the preparation though). We shared a bottle of Pinot and the boys had beers total was $550 but we had a 15% surcharge for public holiday. It's a lovely view and ambience, however the boys didn't face the river so they just had the great view of us! Definitely return and now we've sampled the menu would select individual dishes to closer suit our taste perhaps with less meat.

The view over to the Story bridge was amazing. They cater for food allergies and had separate menus for gluten free, nut free and crustacean free. This was our first time dining experience at Madame Wu. We wanted to dine out for our 31st wedding anniversary. Madame Wu staff were thoughtful and the attentive service they provided made the night all the more special. We highly recommend you make a reservation if you haven't already tried Madame Wu. The meals were all exceptional and we would need to highlight the Ducks Buns are a must to try.

Beautiful view and great cocktails. Our waitress was amazing and really saved the night for us. I really wanted to like this place as I have heard so many great things about Madame Wu. We ordered the banquet menu for 4 people. The food looked nice and read well on the menu however; everything was a little cold and very under seasoned, nothing had much flavor, not what I was expecting from a contemporary Asian restaurant. We may have just gone on an off night, so please, don't take my word for it. We definitely want to come back to try the 'a la carte' menu.

Excellent food and service, beautiful location overlooking the river and Storey Bridge. We had the $95 Banquet and the staff happily arrange alternatives for the people on our table with special dietary requirements. Plenty of food which was all delicious. Many of our table had differing views on which was the stand-out dish but overall it was all great.

We’d been looking forward to dining here. The view was spectacular as we watched the sun set. Lighting is dark in the restaurant, but allows the surrounding view to stand out. Our favourite dish was the Chicken Ribs. I was surprised and disappointed the bug meat was covered in batter, I would have ordered something else if I knew this.

We were given a gift voucher for dinner to celebrate our 41st Anniversary . We were very happy with the location, seating, service, and food we received. A lovely fulFILLING experience. FOOD - simply scrumptious. Given this was our first time, we went for Banquet #1 and threw in the scallop dumpling. Firstly - if you think you are a big eater, you are incorrect. You are not... Not till you can put away this generous and delicious array of amazing flavours all at once. There is no need for additions. You will have food left over. Every course was great so next time we are trying the second banquet. A suggestion - go for steamed rice rather than fried. We were offered the option of the fried rice instead of the steamed rice for extra cost) and were told it is delicious. We took the offer and it really was delicious. But our palates needed a mild neutraliser to all the full flavours of the dishes. The panna cotta dessert at the end became a lovely gentle palate cleanser though. Our favourites from the banquet : 1. GOLD BAND SNAPPER, BRAISED W FERMENTED CHILLI & BLACK BEAN, 2. the BRAISED ROBBINS ISLAND WAGYU BRISKET, DAIKON & SALTED LEMON. SERVICE - friendly, unpretentious, efficient. AMBIENCE - fabulous, outdoor seating and all two seaters are along the rails that directly overlooks the river. Perfect most nights of the year.

Oh my goodness, we came on Sunday for a birthday lunch and had their banquet. Our group of four didn't eat beef/pork and the chef willingly accommodated our requirements and substituted dishes without complaint. I thoroughly enjoyed every course and we all left satisfied. Will be coming back in December for the banquet again! Top spot overlooking the river and our waiter was fun and attentive!!

We've wanted to go here for awhile and arranged to go for dinner a few weeks ago. Unfortunately it was one of the nights that it was storming and we were seated outside just under the canopy. It was super windy and very cold (though we did appreciate the blankets they provided). We ordered a few small things to share (which were good but not amazing) but the environment was so miserable that we left much earlier than planned. We might try again in the future but there are many other options out there where you don't have to worry about the weather.

Great here. I do recommend. But, had high expectations here. All dishes were great, no duds, but nothing was out of the level I would rave about. You won't be disappointed but you won't have your culinary appreciation thrown on its head. Very photogenic place.

Regrettably 2 out of 3 guests that dined at Madame Wu became unwell with food poisoning symptoms after dining. Such a shame because we really enjoyed our evening until we got home and spent the following 2 days extremely unwell. We suspect the Kingfish Sashimi based on what the third person didn’t eat but can't be sure. Provided feedback to the restaurant via 2 different emails with no response as of yet. Hopeful, it was an isolated incident and no one else spent their New Years unwell like us.

Madame Wu is our favorite restaurant in Brisbane. From the delicate and beautifully prepared scallop dumplings (a must have)to the fabulous Madame Wu fried rice. All dishes are beautifully presented and served by attentive and friendly staff. We love to sit back and enjoy the view, day and night, sipping on a cool wine from Madame Wu's great wine list. So easily found very close to Eagle Street Wharf, don't be put off by the stairs, you can slip behind them to the lift directly to the restaurant. Very helpful on the way down :-)

Fantastic experience. It was the seamless execution of simple things that really made our dinner at Madame Wu's one to remember. Firstly, we were a bit early for our reservation (30 mins) but the staff were accomodating and flagged we could go to our table early if we wanted. The wait staff were attentive to our needs without being annoying or wanting to be the main show. They recommended meals to try and helped us with our choices to a get a good sample of what the menu had to offer. Will definitely be back.

The good: location, decor, concept, the braised beef, the mushroom dish, and Wu Thai cocktail. Salmon was good too but nothing to shout about. The not so great: the vegetables dish was bland and soggy, the pork belly was not appetising at all and lacking flavour too. All in all, there was nothing particularly special about all the dishes.

From the moment we entered we were shown to a wonderful table overlooking the water, and our waiter (Conrad?) was absolutely hilarious and made our night so much fun. We had my daughters 21st for Sunday lunch in the lantern room. I couldn’t speak more highly of Grace who was so helpful, efficient and friendly. The food was exceptional as was the service. Everybody who came to the party all thought exactly the same. We couldn’t recommend Madame Wu’s more highly and will definitely have our next event there. The lantern room is perfect for a sit down party of 25 and the $75 banquet very generous.

One of best modern Asian fusion restaurants in Brisbane the food is prepared and presented like its going to be shown on TV. Don't be fooled by the look though because it tastes even better your palate will be in heaven from the first bite to the last mouthful. We chose the Lunch banquet which was a great way to first try an assortment of dishes absolutely delicious. Their drinks menu is extensive with cocktails to die for wines from local and international as are their beers. A big beautiful bar to unwind from the daily grind and a panoramic view across the river and the Story Bridge. Overall price location and service was 10 out of 10. Will be back without a doubt.

Madame Wu is pretty AMAZING! Their dumplings are incredible. The heirloom tomato salad seems understated, but don't be fooled. And who doesn't like super tender beef cheek with black beans&chilli sauce? I'm salivating just by writing this review.

Upmarket Chinese restaurant situated on Eagle street Brisbane serving Chinese fare with a modern Australian twist at almost fine dining prices. While the prices are steep, I cannot fault the quality of the food. The fact that the place is almost always packed is a testament to that. They also have a good variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well. Good food, good ambience and decent service. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Very pleasant setting, very attentive staff (though we stood about at the door for 4 or 5 minutes while the attendant seated a prior arrival, it seemed nobody else could/would/should greet us in her stead). We booked ahead (OpenTable) and the few points mentioned in our booking were acknowledged upon seating us. Had the first of the two banquet options for two of us, and the food was delicious without exception. We tried a few (5 or 6) of the cocktails and they were also well made, well presented, fresh and delicious. Our waitress was delightful and very attentive, engaging in some short conversations with us at points but not overstaying her welcome at all. A couple of ad-hoc requests were handled with aplomb (finding a dairy-free dessert alternative with zero notice for the final course, making a straight-up espresso martini rather than the fancy creamy one on the drink list). We were never left waiting for food or drinks, and likewise never found ourselves being rushed to get through anything. The other service staff we interacted with were all very pleasant too. There is a nice wine list and a good selection of whiskeys too, including a few quite-expensive bottles with comparatively not-totally-eye-watering costs per glass which is nice. Overall thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyable and recommended. Definitely not cheap, but you can see the prices on their website so that should come as no surprise to anyone, and the cost is easily justified by the service, produce & location.

Been to this restaurant several times over the years and I always enjoy it. Wether it is for an anniversary or a birthday madam Wu never disappoint with it's nice athmosphere and amazing food. The meat is cooked to perfection where it can even be cut with chopsticks yet still retain a crispy exterior. They served us tonight at a reasonable speed and very very attentive with water refills and how we enjoyed our night. There was a large party behind us and the inquired if we would like to relocate to another spot in the venue in case the noise was too much for us, we politely declined as it was not an issue. Will come back many times in the future.

Definitely a bit more on the expensive side, but 100% worth it. Would recommend for a special occasion, or even just a treat yourself night. We indulged in the banquet and were not disappointed. The extra $5 for the dessert tasting plate was well worth it as well! Probably one thing to mention is that the alcoholic drinks will cost you a pretty penny and I wouldn't recommend having more than one, as a dark and stormy cost my partner $21 and he had two, and we really couldn't justify $42 on just two drinks! However, I think that's the only downside I can think of with our experience.

Was not advised of banquet only dining (in ability to change seafood out for one person unable to eat it and given the high set price) or the required time limit. The food was mixed in quality - the ocean trout salad, mushrooms, chicken ribs were amazing however the salmon was fishy and not in a good way, the pork was bland and the staff rushing us did not make for a good experience. Cocktails were disappointing lacking taste and watery, across the table we had three different ones and all were the same regarding the lack of flavour. Disappointing given prior experience that Madame Wu’s was great.

The waiter took forever to take our order for both dinner as well as dessert (by which time the restaurant was nearly empty), to the point we thought he may have forgotten us! How hard is it to get a candle on a slice of cake?? Booked my friends hens night here (booked months in advance). Found the staff extremely rude from the beginning of the night. I had asked previously if one of our party could go earlier in the day, to set up some balloons and decorations for our table. We were advised he could arrive 15minutes prior to our booking, which did not leave a lot of time. So our poor friend is there trying to blow up helium balloons on his own, and then a senior member of staff comes over and tells him to stop blowing them up, because it's making too much noise and disturbing the other guests (there was barely anyone in the restaurant at this point). So because of this, our table wasn't ready for when the bride to be arrived. 6 of us had the banquet and 2 ordered seperate due to dietary requirements. The food was lovely and faultless. But quite a while to wait between courses. They restaurant automatically gave us bottled water (when we asked for tap) and then tried to charge us $9 per bottle at the end of the night (which we disputed and got taken off the bill), but the lady serving us was clearly not in a good mood and also seemed quite rude. Overall nice food, but for a table spending almost $700 (and paying someone's wages), you'd think they might be a bit more polite to customers (especially during covid).

I first visited Madam Wu nearly 2 years ago and it was time for another visit as this place is often booked out on Friday and Saturday Nights, and for good reason. It is one of the best restaurants in Brisbane. Again we chose a banquet and it did not disappoint at all. Some people are shocked to see me eat salad and beans, but when they put the type of seasoning on these items, they are no longer boring greens but sumptuous delicacies. We had Snapper on this menu and it was absolutely brilliantly cooked., the Pork Belly was sensational. The service from the staff was excellent and they genuinely were pleased to be there. Yes we did buy Wine this time around and I believe it is now much better value but still top quality. You also cannot beat the view over the river and it has a superb happy atmosphere. With food this good, of course there should be. You must try it out. This is where Aussie tastes meet Asian brilliance.

It is a really authentic Chinese restaurant. The food tasted really delicious. It has a good view of the Brisbane river. However, I find the table is really tiny. We had a lot trouble put all our food on the table. It is not as expensive as other fine dining restaurant on Eagle St. I love the tofu spicy soup (see my photo). I will consider going back there again. I just didn't like eating on a tiny table. It feels so clumsy and uncomfortable. I know they can fit more tiny tables and more profitable this way. But people are here to enjoy fine dining and want to feel comfortable and relaxed.

Fab Lunch for a special birthday celebration. We had the Lunch Banquet Special, and an extra order of the Duck (not needed, but so so good) and many many wines and a few cocktails. All the while, the staff were patient and attentive, putting up with our regaling each other (probably loudly, but by that time most other tables had left). This is one of my favourite dining spots in Brisbane, and have never been disappointed.

There are only 2 things I did not enjoy/like about this place: 1. The drinks we got were absolutely terrible, not enough alcohol (maybe half a shot was used or less) so I essentially ended up with a milk cocktail. 2. The table staff stole my water jug which was annoying considering they were happy to bother me to offer more alcohol. See! Not so bad! The food was delicious, the view was great, the interior design was nice, the atmosphere was good too! All good! Will come again for the beef cheeks! Would have been 5 star review if it wasn't for the 2 drink issues (if you can even call them that).

Booking online was easy and despite being busy on a Friday lunchtime it was private and quiet enough for conversation. Booked a table for two on Monday’s which is not busy at all. General, we had a good experience at this place but nothing surprised me. We ordered two glass of wines and a pint of beer. Drinks here are really expensive and they don’t to BYO. But the selected wines are great while beer is just normal. For sides, we ordered duck bun, and mushroom stir fried with tofu. Both of them are great. Two mains are snapper and lamb. The lamb is a bit dry and not of very much flavour. Not recommend. We also ordered the special fried rice which is more like a Thai fried rice. Can’t finish finally but you can’t take away. So maybe you should have your own containers next time or just order less food. The bill goes to 160 at then end for two.

This was a little above average dining experience. We had the $90 banquet for 2. There were no outstanding dishes. Our expectations were not met. The dishes were a little confusing and although presented nicely the meals tasted average without being great. The asian influence of each dish failed to make me wanting more. As far as the dining room is concerned, we were outside on the deck. I felt slightly uncomfortable during the night as there are no fans, and if the breeze isn't blowing, it can get a little too warm. And I was lightly dressed. Table service and staff were pleasent however I think there are better places to blow nearly $200 on dinner for 2 that still leaves you feeling hungry. I wouldn't go back, and probably wouldn't recommend. Once is enough.

We had the $65 banquet and the food was delicious they also catered for a few friends who didn’t like pork which was really nice and replaced those meals with something else. We had a really nice red at a good price (the stag st Hubert’s Pinot noir I think) which was really nice and the food was very good. Everyone left completely full and satisfied and the food really is delicious top quality and worth the price.

The scenery is great, the food delicious and the atmosphere is inviting. I tried their $65 banquet and while it seems pricey it really is worth the money - I left with a full and satisfied stomach. With the banquet you really get to try so many different flavours and styles, from fresh and vibrant salads to barramundi and even beef cheeks. Being dubbed a contemporary Asian restaurant I came with the expectation of tasty and distinct Asian dishes yet i unfortunately did not find that here. However, the subtle taste of Asian flavours combined with a modern twist really does make for interesting and delightful dishes. Overall it was worth it and so if you are looking to try new things and can handle a bit of spice then be sure to hit this place up!

While the food itself is ok, each time I've been here the fixed banquet style menu seems to create chaos for groups. The wait staff aren't really able to explain what's included or what the options are. Servings are brought to the table sporadically with no information on what it is, which set it's part of, how many people it's to serve, whether there's more to come, etc. And the atmosphere and table arrangements make it difficult to order drinks, or anything else you might want. For small groups (4 people or under) it might be ok, especially if you sit inside. And again the food is decent, not amazing, but an interesting combination of Asian and western food that it'd be worth trying in a nicer environment.

We ate at Madam Wu’s for dinner on Wednesday night- the location is stunning with a large covered balcony area that has extensive views out over the Brisbane river and down to the Story Bridge. We opted to sit outside on the balcony and the views at night with the Story Bridge lit up did not disappoint. The staff were attentive and efficient and the wine/drinks list is expansive. All the starters we had were great- scallop dumplings, moreton bay bug dumplings and duck buns. Although the mains were all good (wok fried prawns in XO sauce, steamed barramundi, stir fried mushrooms), the roasted duck with steamed Bol choy & peanut sauce was my stand out dish. Overall Madame Wu is an lovely Asian fusion dining experience and it would be difficult to make a bad choice from their menu.

Went here yesterday for lunch with friends for 2 birthdays. Wow it's amazing, ticks all the boxes. Dined on the balcony, what a view! Food was excellent, OMG you have to try the scallop dumplings, beautiful. Everyone loved their food, I had the barramundi in chilli infused oil and cauliflower puree, a beautifully balanced meal with a side of sugar snap peas in miso butter. Cuisine is a wonderful asian fusion style. We had a surprise sparkler come out in the desserts with waiters singing "happy birthday", such a lovely touch. There was a stand out waiter and that was Pablo our columbian waiter. What wonderful customer service he provided, very personable, very attentive, lovely interaction with us, and always smiling, nothing too much trouble. This place will not disappoint. Enjoy!

The staff are generally pretty good - some of the younger ones don’t want to be there but that’s standard for that age group. The food is ok but not outstanding. The flavours are all a little bit confusing and generally not all that amazing.

This is the 2nd time I have eaten here. Memories of the 1st time were far better than last night. Great view and atmosphere. Cocktails were unbalanced. We ordered the lobster dumplings and sashimi for entree. Both good but nothing special or memorable. $20 for 4 dumplings = ridiculous. $25 for 3 bites of sashimi = ridiculous. Lamb for main was as good as a local pub. Barramandi was bland. Can't understand the excellent reviews!!! Some Eagle st pier restaurants are extremely average food and this is one of them. Don't recommend. Go to Aria or Blackbird instead.

Food and service is good, expect to pay about $75 per person. Food was good but I was expecting more throw backs to traditional spicy/ chilli oil Chinese. The pork and barramundi I had were both similar to a fancy dinning experience at a restaurant that is not Chinese. The dumplings however were really good, wholesome and unique, but only 4 :( The rice that was ordered seemed out of place here as the dishes were minimalistic and were a little hard to mix with rice but I managed. Highlights: the service, the dumplings and scraping up the delish sauce left by the dumplings, yum! More of this poured over everything please! And almost two heaters per outdoor table was a nice surprise. Lows: portion size a little small, could do with more spicy saucy goodness. If I went again I’d maybe order lots of dumplings rather than mains.

Lovely view of the bridge, nice and airy balcony space, maître d' is a touch snitty but that's par for the course when accommodating large groups. Very attentive and responsive staff. Food is consistently above average and they don't shy on the portions. Affordable for what it is.
