Absolutely incredible turkish food in a great central location in Brisbane city. Came in with my partner for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Even on a weeknight the restaurant was bustling and lively. All the food we ordered was absolutely incredible. The chicken shish in particular was absolutely amazing, some of the best chicken we have ever had. The dips in the dips platter were all fresh and extremely flavourful. The cheese pide was amazing as well and just to our liking. We finished up desert with a turkish coffee, turkish tea and some desert all of which I would highly recommend. The tea was incredibly aromatic and a perfect way to end our meal. Service was impeccable and wait times for food were quite small. The food was priced reasonably, probably a bit on the pricier side however justified considering the quality and quantity of food provided. Highly highly highly recommend this place and I would love to return when back in town :)

Fun night with mates. Belly dance was icing on the cake. Food was delicious and fresh. Everyone loved it. The only piece of advice to the management, is some soothing music in the background could add colours to the environment. Going back for sure.

Well the first night here I had food envy with my husband getting pick of the night, the mixed grill. Don’t get me wrong my lamb cutlets were lovely but I was jealous of the variety on his plate. So much so we went back with a friend the following night and again were not disappointed. The food is delicious, the staff and service friendly and a big thank you to our waiter who introduced us to “apple tea” you have to try it!! A great way to finish a meal. Thank you for your hospitality. We will be back when next visiting Brisbane.

Reasonable Turkish food The food was quite good at this Turkish restaurant in the Southbank dining precinct. We were quite disappointed with the Manti though - it was described as dumplings/ravioli, but turned out to be a plate of very expensive pasta! everything else was quite delicious! We did think it was a little pricey though!

We spent a birthday here, the location is at the end of the buzzing and hyped food areas. It has a lot of culture, tables, walls the entire feel even where you sit feels very authentic, decorated and adorned with Turkish attire. The food was good, not mind blasting good but good nonetheless. Service I felt could have been better, not so much in attention but in skill. They had good entertainment with a belly dance, and the vibe is different with ppl dancing to the Turkish customary music. It's a place you have to visit at least once

Very cozy and nice place. Restaurant's internal design is absolutely beautiful and awesome - looks like a lot of decorations they brought directly from Turkey. They have two tables with a lot of small pillows - when you book a table ask for these tables - nice and cozy. Food is good, but not great. Fresh and tasty, but not I expected. Sish and kebab were great, but manti quite disappointed. Good variety of wine - not a huge, but decent choice. Service was great! Quite expensive - $30+ per main meals.

Have been to Mado many times and we always enjoyed eating here. As the food is prepared after you order so expect a wait time of 15-20 minutes (depending on number of customers). All the staff tries their best to give you a memorable eating experience. Though not exactly same what you enjoy in Istanbul but still very much closer to authentic Turkish cuisine. Don’t forget to book on busy evenings to avoid long wait or no seats. COST Depending on drinks & how hungry you are; on avg $30-40. TRANSPORT Very close to South Bank train station & bus station PARKING If coming by car, book car parking an hour before online to get very discounted rates

My partner and I shared a mixed platter and haloumi entre, food was delicious, we probably could have eaten more but the price was slightly higher than our usual meal out but this is probably based on location. Gin and tonic arrived with no lime / lemon, I'd assume that to be standard and not need to ask. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. We will come back to try more for sure!

Entree cost around $10 to $15 and mains cost between $28 to $35. Which is reasonable when you consider the large portions, our meals were very filling.

The food came out really quick but the biggest plus I have for Mado is that the food felt so fresh! There was only one dish that felt pointless which was a beef filled in gnocchi, there was hardly any beef in it. But a great place at southbank to try some different cuisine.

Mado restaurant is just great. The food is made fresh and from scratch. It is authentic in looks and in taste. I've lived in Turkey for 3 months and have visited many times. This is as good as it gets when you live this far from 🇹🇷 I recommend turkish dips and bread, grill, pide, anything with lamb and finish it off with turkis coffee and baklava. We have visited it multiple times and will be coming back.

The food is great but their prices seem to have gone waaaaaay up over the years. A few years back we were given $200 for our choice of dinner as a gift, we struggled to spend even as much as $150, today with entrees costing $20 on average and much more for mains it's actually harder now to not spend that much.

Wonderful dining experience on July 4, when COVID restrictions had our expectations of a good night fairly low. Somehow, the senior waitress magically produced a table for us at very short notice when we'd been let down by the place we'd originally booked. We begun our relationship with Mados back in 2016 when we were recommended to try out the Turkish restaurant given it is one of our favourite cuisines and boy were we impressed. We loved it so much we have become regulars still to this day. The food is amazing and service is great. We organised for our whole family to have dinner here the night before our wedding with a group of over 25 people. Everyone loved the atmosphere and enjoyed the food. Since then we have organised multiple group bookings. The staff are very accomodating to all of our needs and nothing is ever too hard even with dietary requirements. The banquets are great value and plenty of food to go around. We love mados and will not eat Turkish anywhere else in qld!! Thank you to the staff at mados for always making our dining experience pleasurable.

This restaurant has a magnificent atmosphere and very true to traditional Turkish welcome. The food was great and all dishes we tried were cooked to perfection and served using traditional utensils. The menu is very broad and caters to all kinds of tastes. The staff were a delight and made me and my husband feel very welcome. We were in Brisbane only three days and ate at Mado on the first night and were so impressed we brought our relatives, who were over from the UK, there on the third night to enjoy the same great belly dance entertainment and dinning experience. Is there any point in having one vegetarian GF dish on the menu and then discouraging the customer from having it as it might not actually be GF? Food is good but not worth the prices. Don’t let them offer you sparkling water and then see a charge of $10 per bottle on the bill... Management need to tweak a few things including the menu and service standards. I will go back some day and hopefully the place will earn extra stars but must say Caravan Serai in West End is my preferred destination for Turkish Food. I wish the place all the success as it is a tough gig running a Restaurant in South Bank.

We went there for 1st time as a family, 2 kids , 1 is 6 and another is 15 months old. We go to Southbank all the time like every weekend. Usually buy meal from Nando's but today around 2 in the afternoon, there were many people in Nando's so we started looking for a place more relaxed and saw this restaurant. First we were hesitant because usually restuarants serves like really small quantity of food but So glad we went in and ordered. I had Minced beef pide, hubby had chicken (forgot full name. Its number 41 on the menu) it was huge, especially the pide. Kids had chips, and service was great. It was hot today but it was so nice and cool all around this restaurant. The food tastes great. We left with full tummy and happy.

Love Love Love this place! The waitress was so good at her craft she was entertaining, informative and such a joy to have waiting our table. Then the FOOD, the Adana Kebab was so good and the charcoal flavour was to die for, the rice was perfectly cooked, the dips were full of flavour and the Turkish bread was so soft and fluffy yet slightly crisp on the outside, another stand out was THE BEST Icli Kofte. We also had the Kunefe for dessert YUM! I will be back very soon.

Our family of six lunched at Mado on Monday 30th December 2019. We had an entrée of Turkish bread with five dips. Our mains were Ali Nazik with Chicken, Chicken Shish (Tavuk Şiş), Adana Iskender, Içli Köfte (Kibbeh), Cheese Pide (Peynirli Pide) and a bowl of hot chips served with tomato and BBQ sauce. We had an assortment of drinks including Apple Tea, Turkish Coffee, Cappuccino, Café Latte, Lemon Lime Bitters, Sour Cherry Juice, Lemonade and Ginger Beer. The service was impeccable and our hostess Burcu was attentive and efficient. Umut, the manager, was most gracious, and the co-owner, Hasan, was appreciative of our patronage. Overall, all of us enjoyed a sumptuous and delightful anniversary lunch. Those in our family who had not dined at Mado before were rather impressed by the warm hospitality, décor, ambience and, above all, the delicious, authentic dishes.

Despite the number of attending people (60 people) the service was pretty good and smooth. Almost all guests were so happy with the taste and quality of the meals. The dips were flavourful and the bread was delicious. Mixed grill platter is a MUST ORDER. The meat were soft, tender and well marinated. It goes well with their special sauces. I am not a huge fan of lamb but the grilled lamb was perfectly grilled. There was no ‘gamey’ taste. Grilled chicken was cooked perfectly as well. It was soft and tender. Overall, Mado is recommended place to go for the best Turkish food with prompt service and beautifully decorated restaurant.

Been here 3 times now... Service is incredible and they do anything to accommodate your needs and wants. The mixed grill is amazing and big enough to share with 2 people but recommend to get a dip on the side, especially the hummus. The meat is juicy and well seasoned, the koftas are my favourite. My husband has had the pide a few times and it is his favourite. You won’t be disappointed to eat here. Food arrives in a timely fashion and the atmosphere is amazing. The only drawback is the place is packed, and can get really loud. If you ask for a spot inside it’s too hot on a summer’s evening. But if you dine out you usually expect a bit of noise and excitement. Thank you Mado’s!

Booked this beautiful restaurant on a Monday evening (which we discovered is a night most of the nice restaurants are actually closed in the Brisbane cbd area) for my partners birthday. We had 40+ guests - the manager not only accommodated all of us with ease, giving us pretty much all of the main inside of the restaurant, he had our tables ready and ordered extra staff for the night! He organised the belly dancer, which I booked especially for the birthday, which they normally only have on Friday and Saturday nights.. she was spectacular! Absolutely perfect, she was so professional and energetic, she is not only stunning & talented but she was so inclusive of my guests she was interacting with everyone and inviting them one by one to dance with her! The design and mood of Mado is so authentic and warm it's so beautiful and there is so much attention to detail. They served the birthday cake we brought in, compliments of the manager, and we were even given the option of paying split bills and ordering off the standard menu instead of being forced to only order off the banquet menu which is standard procedure for such large group bookings at restaurants of this standard. The food was unbelievable! The meals are impressively massive and presented so beautifully. All the orders came out relatively swiftly considering how many guests we had and that most the orders were grill / meat. We had never been there before. It's in a great location. They made the night unforgettable! It was on the 12th of June 2017 and a week later all our guests are still raving about what an amazing night it was! Will definitely come again and recommend to anyone looking for something more special!

Enjoyed eid lunch with family. We all found it to have an extensive food range and good service but we would have preferred to have been seated inside as it was a bit cold outside. The Turkish coffee was fabulous. The dips were not as good as persian or the Lebanese equivalent. The chicken was delicious and halal of course. The lamb patties were a bit too spicy for our taste. To make it more affordable next time we won't order the entree or fruit juices.

Mados is located conveniently close to undercover parking, ferrys and trains. It has great athmosphere, with a covered outdoor area, and indoors magnificent Turkish rugs, pottery and antiques. Tried out their bread with humus dip as well as Lamb Shish (marinated and char grilled lamb skewers which comes with rice and mashed potato). The entree had already rendered me in awe as the bread was well-baked with a tad of crunchiness. Its taste was enriched by the humus dip with a harmonious combination between chick peas and garlic. The amazement did not cease when the main dish was served. The lamb skewers were perfectly grilled without the unpleasant scent that raw lamb usually has, not to mention the tenderness and juiciness experienced with every bite of it! Two sauces were provided to enrich the flavour of the lamb and they didn't disappoint me either! Their homemade mashed potato served together with the main dish deserves a compliment as well. All in all everything was good and seemed to match just nicely. Service-wise, the staff was friendly and courteous which made the ambiance even more comfortable. Will definitely give this restaurant a second try. :)

We had seen a programme on Turkish food and thought we would try Mado for a birthday celebration. The service was excellent and the venue was beautiful alongside Southbank parklands - we were seated outside on a balmy almost summer evening well before dusk, around 5.30pm So many delicious menu items! On being seated we were brought a carafe of iced water and our drinks order taken - glass of Willowglen Semillon Chardonnay ($7.90) for me and a Cascade Light ($7.50) for Graeme. We opted to share our entree selections- I went for the five dips with Turkish bread: Hummus (chick peas, tahini, garlic olive oil), Carrot (roasted carrot, yoghurt, garlic), Cacik (Yoghurt, garlic, dill, cucumber, mint), Eggplant (Roasted eggplant, tahini, yoghurt) and Beetroot (beetroot, yoghurt, garlic) $25.50 while Graeme opted for the Cheese Rolls $18.90 - Deep fried individually wrapped filo pastry filled with feta and mozzarella cheese mixed with traditional spices and parsley. For mains Graeme chose the Lamb Shish (Kuzu Sis) $33.90 Char grilled marinated tender diced lamb fillets served with rice, freshly baked Turkish bread and side salad while I went for the Icli Kofte (aka Kibbeh) $28.90 Minced lamb meat balls stuffed with onion, walnut, cumin, black pepper and salt, rolled in bulgur and semolina then deep fried and served with salad and yoghurt sauce. The food was exceptional and beautifully cooked. We did end up requesting additional Turkish bread so we could completely finish the dips, which were served in generous proportions - I think we may have eaten our own bodyweight in bread and dips!! They were absolutely fantastic - if somewhat psychelic - well, the beetroot and carrot! We can thoroughly recommend Mado Turkish restaurant we will definitely be returning soon to sample some of the other delights on offer!
