We can't recommend Maya more highly. We recently visited Brisbane from Sydney for our anniversary and booked a table for the evening. It was beautiful. The excellent service started the moment we walked in the door and continued throughout our meal. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the welcome was almost as warm as the jalapeno in the mango margarita. Our waiter knew the menu back-to-front, explained everything well, and made excellent recommendations. Every dish we shared was fresh and full of flavour, made all the more enjoyable by the beautiful sunset over the city skyline. We've been to Mexican places before, but this was a real stand-out and, dare I say it, well worth the trip up the East Coast. We'll definitely be making this our go-to restaurant when we're in Brisbane. Had we been staying longer this trip we would have gone back in a heartbeat. Thank you, Maya, for making our anniversary so memorable.

What a great place this is. Definitely my favourite rooftop bar in Brisbane. Super eclectic vibe, great food and AMAZING cocktails. Absolutely love the place. Staff are super helpful. And the views are nothing short of amazing! Try to book a booth if you going in a group... Also was so pleased with the food options given I am a vegetarian...loved the food!

We didn’t make a reservation but a guy(looks like a manager) recommended us to grab drinks first and gonna give us table when they got table. And we got a table after 7-8mins🙂 so lucky! Me and my partner had 8 cocktails (all on the menu haha) All cocktails was so good. Quality and taste were great My favorite is Nueva Vida is gin based cocktails, can feel some peach flavour as well. Food was good portion for me. So yum! Atmosphere is soooooo good. I like music and interior. They have DJ. Rooftop bar and view is great. Waiters are all friendly and kind! Will definitely come back next week sometime😃

I was not expecting to like Maya as much as I did. The service was impressive - which is so so rare these days. Very attentive, fun, and friendly, but never too much. Food was modern Mexican, the calamari I had was so soft and cooked perfectly, and the duck tacos were 👌 Watermelon margaritas seem to be the cocktail of choice and they did not disappoint. Also helps having kickass rooftop views - the seating is well thought out too - next time I will be reserving one of the booths for sure.

Excellent choice of food served in gorgeous surroundings. Bookings essential and dress code applied at certain times. Attentive, but casual service by staff who are very willing to talk you through food and drink options. Just be aware that this place is incredibly busy/popular, so you are usually unable to stay seated in the dining section beyond your allocated booking time.

Amazing! The greeting when we hopped off the lift like we were arriving at our best friends party started off the Wonderful experience. Went to Maya with my partner and enjoyed it very much. The food was amazingly tasty, the guy who served us was very professional and knowledgeable, all his recommendations for food pairings with the cocktails were spot on with every course. The ambience was great. The only down side was at the very start when we arrived. The security woman at the door downstairs needs to be mindful of time. we were waiting there for 10minutes whilst she chatted to group of men nothing to do with checking in. meanwhile we had to wait and cut into our booking time.

What a beautiful roof top! It had an incredible vibe with lots of plants and luxe booths. We went as a group of 6 on a week night. Service was wonderful, drinks and food came out quickly. We ordered the middle sized set menu and I was absolutely stuffed by the end. The calamari and the beef tostadas were the highlight in the food department for me. I found the rest of the food good but not amazing. I would come back for drinks and the stunning location.

Great spot for an afternoon drink and snack. Didn’t make an booking but they accommodated for us in the courtyard area. We did get a little confused when we asked to have food in the courtyard and got told we couldn’t, only to see others in the same area eating. Asked someone else and managed to get some delicious food which was well worth it. Highly recommend the jalapeño poppers and nachos. Good party vibe going on which made it hard to leave.

We'd not booked for Sunday lunch but were soon seated on the stunning 11th-floor roof-top with 270-degree views of the city. The food and drink menus were excellent, the DJ was spinning good vinyl and we enjoyed a slight breeze The prosecco was very good and I tried a couple of Mexican beers The Ceviche [$18] kingfish, tamarind lime water, avocado, green tomato, radish and coconut was clean and subtle, with great texture contrasts. The radish mini baton were a hit The Camarones al ajillo [$28] Mooloolaba prawns flame-grilled in tequila, garlic and chilli oil were plump and juicy - fresh from the ocean, going well with the Modello negra [$10] The Calamari [$15] char-grilled squid, pickled kohlrabi, jalapeno and lime aioli were delicious We finished with tacos, Confit duck [$17] slow-cooked duck, pecan salsa, pickled golden beetroot, radish and habanero. The dish could have had a bit more flavour punch, but teamed well with my Asahi black [$12] Fabulous lunch - great ambience, food, drinks and service!

To label MAYA as a typical “Mexican” Restaurant would be doing this place an amazing disservice. Unfortunately in Brisbane, what we consider to be Mexican food does not come anywhere near the freshness, excitement and flavour that this world-famous cuisine has to offer. Thank you MAYA for not only capturing the amazing flavours of Mexico, but for also enhancing them with your own unique twist. About the food: The food is perhaps some of the best in Brisbane. From a patron of perhaps every single Brisbane restaurant over the past 10 years, this is a very big compliment. Perfectly sized portions, amazingly balanced with local ingredients and matched with an impressive selection of imported Tequila and Mezcal. Do yourself a favour and have a Sunday session here. Come in just before 2pm and enjoy the live show.

Everyone who served us was so friendly and accommodating, the food was absolutely sensational, and the ambiance was just perfect. If I could spend the rest of my Saturdays at Maya sipping margaritas and indulging in some of the best modern Mexican food I have ever tasted then I would be in heaven! Maya has really good views and great vibes, really great for a sunset sesh with a group of friends. The security on floor is a bit of a shame however. They’re quite short with their answers when it’s busy and on numerous occasions belittle customers with their ‘security superpower’. Security is on most occasions the first point of contact for people and in a way represent the business. I would be visiting Maya more often if the security could be a little friendlier or make more effort to not talk down to people when they are enjoying their evening out.

Atop the Eleven Bar on Wickham st so it’s great views and beautiful restaurant with scenic modern mesoamerican decor. The food was delicious, couldn’t fault the flavour one bit. Each dish had a pleasant twist of flavours that both my partner and I had never experienced. I wouldn’t really call it Mexican cuisine, more Mexican-inspired cuisine which is absolutely fine as it gives an edge. We both thought the servings could have been a bit bigger though. Very enjoyable experienced however it was ruined by possibly the manager or host of some sort. He was extremely rude to us both and even shook his head at me when we couldn’t understand his thick South American accent. As we were eating he would literally shoved in between us to grab an empty glass without saying a word which was shocking and even frightening.

Food is Great. Service is great. What you would expect from a trendy bar. Try the Crispy Baby Calamari with green papaya and Chilli chutney - toasted coconut and lemongrass share plate. Mains, tried the white fish of the day and Pappardelle and slow braised beef cheek. Lovely fish - gold band snapper. Serious heat in the pappardelle. 3rd visit even better. Well done! One of the best places in Brisbane to have a drink Friday / Saturday night in a group. I am in my 30's and I would say the times I've been there the demographic has been similar in age if not a little older. Its very loud on these nights and I would not suggest this place if you wanted a more intimate setting. I had one of the best meals of my life here 2 years ago at a work event - Duck Comfit. I suggest putting that bad boy on the menu, even if it took 12 hours to cook.

The view is beautiful, the food was really nice. Vibe was fun and upbeat! Just overpriced and not for the quality. Pork belly good, but such a ridiculously tiny serve. Entree serve for $32 but is listed as a main. The drinks are very over priced. For the 3 of us to have a few drinks and some food - we were still hungry after as the portions were actually really small, $325. A standard tall glass mojito jammed full of crushed ice and a sprig of mint - $19. From someone who knows the cost point within bars and restaurants, particularly Brisbane, I just feel annoyed when places rip people like that if you're not a high class and quality venue. Lose a bit of respect for places that do this. $28 for 6 raw oysters - again not Kilpatrick or anything, just a bit bland. You won't see me really mention prices in my reviews, but I felt it necessary this time. Friendly staff. However they forgot one of our dishes - pork belly and still wanted us out within 2 hrs so they could get more people in. No it has nothing to do with covid - it's just smart business which I appreciate as the place still had people jammed in. So they brought out the missed pork belly dish 5 min before our time was up, and then extended the time by 10 min so we could eat it and leave. Pretty poor form considering. Overall, nowhere in my top favourite places nor Mexican in Brisbane. Sorry Maya, I really had high hopes.

Came here tonight for a little date night with my partner. We were seated where we had an unobstructed view of the city and it just made our dining experience so much nicer. The ambience and decor of the whole restaurant was great, and the girl who served us was very pleasant and polite. The food was absolutely delicious. I like that everything on the menu has a little twist to it. Our entree of calamari was tender, smokey and zesty. Delicious. The pork belly I had ordered was very different and unlike any pork belly I have tried at other restaurants. The spiced arbol corn purée was umami and was perfectly paired with the tender pork belly. The addition of corn and some pickles elevated those flavours even more. My partner ordered the barramundi and it was delightful as well. Very fresh. I have only deducted a star because I feel that the portions could be slightly bigger. I’m not one to usually finish my food (ask anyone 😂) but I wiped my plate clean and still left the restaurant with room in my tummy for dessert. Overall.. Good food & good vibes!

Was a stunning view and lovely Valentine’s Day under the stars! That sashimi tuna with wasabi pea purée and nori was out of this world along with the pea pecorini sauce on my gnocci and mango panna cotta! Divine! Also enjoyed the special blueberry rum drink. Would love to order a la carte some other time and would love more vegetarian and pescatarian options for mains!

One of the best venues in Brisbane. I went to Maya for pre dinner drinks for my birthday (without a booking) and the gentleman at the host desk gave us a beautiful table with a spectacular view. The cocktails were delicious and the service was impeccable. We left the venue, came down the elevator and had walked about 100m down the street when one of the staff members came running after us. I had left my sunglasses on my chair and he was returning them. It made my whole night. Excellent staff. Will definitely be returning.

Maya Mexican was a nice place to spend my partners birthday, the atmosphere was set nicely with a great live DJ pumping suitable music you’d expect at a fortitude valley rooftop bar - customer service was great and all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The non-margarita cocktails were quite disappointing, poorly garnished and decorated but I suppose you shouldn’t expect too much from a place that specialises mainly on Margaritas. This is a cool spot to have a few drinks with arguably one of the best views in Brisbane. There's not to much seating here if you're just after drinks as most of it is reserved for sit down meals. I went with my family for my dad's birthday. It was the first time I went and the food was indeed splendid. We were constantly being feed with nacho chips accompanied by dips. There was two dish in particular that i loved which was the calamari and corn. The calamari in particular was cooked to perfection. The service was very nice and helpful. The only real complaint that I would have with this restaurant is that the table we sat at was very compact and awkward, accompanied with the blistering heat I felt quite suffocated. However there was also a fan to company the heat.

But a bit too loud to my liking as you have to almost scream to talk but music is also loud enough to dance. Hard to strike the right middle i guess. People are so well dressed. Everyone's there is here to have a good time. Hard to get a table though unless you go very early or stay till late. It left us feeling unwelcome and a bit disappointed. Stylish venue with great views and a fantastic breeze for those hot, humid Brisbane nights. I have been here a few times now and enjoyed it each time. Drinks are premium but not exorbitantly priced, which is so refreshing for Brisbane! Thank heavens there's an establishment doing the right thing. On the most recent visit there were a couple of things I felt: there was a DJ playing some funky beats, but they were a little flat and didn't really progress as the night went on... We encountered one barman who was not having a great day and treated us with disdain - a shame really but you can't bring down the whole establishment based on one individual. I shared feedback with the bar manager and another staff member and they both took action to rectify the situation - quickly moving the barman to one of their other bars and replacing him with another team member. The staff member who we spoke with apologised profusely both when we told her and again later in the night. I was happy with the response even though this one individual didn't make us feel welcome. The other staff at the venue were a delight.

Then you start looking around the bar/restaurant which is very stylish with a very young snappy style, which reflects the majority of the clientele. The kitchen also was very accepting of my vegan friend. With great food the beef cheeks where amazing!

Ehhhh, great view for sure....and great looking venue. I feel it can get a bit busy here (even with minimal people) because of understaffing at the bar. Drinks are also expensive, but not any more that other places of the same 'calibre'. Also ...it just doesn't have even close to enough seating. Some stool seating is in the sun and people would rather stand. Booths are always 'reserved' even though no one sits there for hours.....just not the sort of place that makes you want to go back for a drop in drink.

I'm torn while writing this review, because the venue really is beautiful & when you get up there & look around, you feel like you're in a different city! It really takes your breath away. It's just a shame that to get up there you have to get passed the incredibly rude host + security at the entrance. It was my hens night, we had a group of about 16 girls all ready to drink & spend money, door girl didn't care though. Door girl was too busy make sure all of us copped her death stare & judgement before we headed through to the elevator. That was forgotten once we got up there & enjoyed the view because it really was impressive! When we asked to settle our bill at the end, the previously friendly waitress suddenly changed her tune. "You haven't met your minimum spend yet, so if you settle your bill now I'll have to ask you all to move on so we can free up the booth." Our bill came to $982, less than $20 away from our minimum spend. Honestly it was like we told her we didn't want to be friends with her anymore, the way she treated us the minute we said we were settling the bill was the only thing that remains in my memory of Eleven Rooftop Bar, which is a real shame because we were having an absolute blast & would have told everyone about it. Don't waste your time or money there, you won't be treated well no mater how much you spend, there are plenty of other bars in Brisbane where you'll have a far better time & won't be pressured to empty your entire bank account!

Like pimples on the adolescent face of Brisbane they seemingly pop up over night, create a bit of a swell, then burst in a pop of disappointment. Of all the ones I have visited, only one rooftop bar provided a truly incredible experience, that bar is Eleven Rooftop Bar on 757 Ann St in The Valley. Needing to organize a birthday event for my girlfriend, I decided a roof top bar would be something a little different than the usual ground level bar (ugh, so bourgeois). After lots of internet searching and menu checking I decided Eleven would be the best bet, neither of us had ever been there, and the menu looked to have a pretty good variety. Contacting their events team to ask some details and find out if they would have space on the night we wanted to go, I was blown away by the speed the speed of reply and friendliness of their staff, no matter how inane or ridiculous my question was they happily answered it and assured me I wasn't as stupid as I thought I was. Even last minute changes and questions were no hassle, the event was not bit by any means, but the staff treated me like I was their most important customer and went above and beyond to help me out. When we arrived for the event the impeccable service I had received via email and phone continued in person, I could not fault the staff's eagerness to help, and their ability to ensure we were having a great time. Even though the bar was busy, they still managed to look after us with no issues. Realizing we had forgotten candles for the birthday cupcakes they were able to supple their own candles, which burnt like little rockets, to help us out and make the birthday girl feel even more special. The view is insane, a panoramic view of Brisbane City unfolds before you as you glance around the bar, the mix of city lights and the Story Bridge light up creates an unforgettable backdrop for any event. It is a view which makes you fall in love with Brisbane all over again. Food and drinks are next level, they have some great twists on some classic cocktails, and have their own as well, I recommend giving the Eleven a go, I could not stop at one. For dinner I had the Lamb rump, zucchini, peppers, labne, balsamic jus, a perfect combination of flavors, everything served to compliment the lamb not overpower it. I could have happily ordered 3 more plates of the lamb and gone into some kind of meat coma. To say Eleven Roof Top Bar exceeded my expectations would be an understatement, the team, the view, the food and drinks, if it was a boxing match, my expectations would have been floored faster than Anthony Mundine Vs Jeff Horn. A huge thank you to the staff at Eleven for being so wonderful and helping to make Jaz's night so memorable, I look forward to coming back again and again.

I reported this to the manager who immediately removed the woman from the venue and asked her to leave.
