Great service. Food was very close to that you would be having in Italy. The atmosphere and vibe was awesome with live music on a cozy Friday evening. Plenty of drinks to choose from. Overall 5 star rating. If you don't know what to pick from the menu, ask the friendly staff. Every dish recommended by the staff was beyond satisfying. Special shoutout to the Risotto and Gnocchi, perfectly flavoured.

The menu was simply perfect, offering traditional flavours and food from Italy. On top of that, our waitress Grace oozed passion for the food and wine. I am beyond impressed with my experience at Olive and Angelo. My friend and I have been here 3 times in the last week! The special Pizza Violeta was absolutely divine. We wish it was a permanent pizza on the menu but we are very excited to try the whole menu and make it our regular catch up spot. The garden has such a wonderful atmosphere, very nice spot while still being covered and the waiters are very attentive and go the extra mile for their customers! Would leave 6 stars if I could!! Can not fault this incredible place - thank you so much for creating such a beautiful place to dine!

We dined at 12:30 on a Saturday. We were greeted warmly at the counter immediately and had our choice of tables, as we were the only ones there. Over the course of the next hour, there were people at three other tables. The staff were friendly, genuine and knowledgeable. We had a calamari starter, lasagne and seafood tagliatelle. The meals were served promptly and they were hot and remarkable. Parmesan cheese and cracked pepper was offered at the table. Exquisitely balanced flavours worked in harmony with the pasta itself, which proved to be the star. Now I understand why supermarket pasta is so cheap. There were many meals to choose from, across a broad range of tastes. The prices were fair and in some cases, surprisingly good value. The wine list was very impressive. This little oasis in the middle of Brisbane was clam and welcoming and there was little traffic noise. I highly recommend this dining experience. We’ll be back. Soon.

One of the most amazing dining experiences we’ve ever had. This place tops anywhere, fantastic service, delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere!! Love love loved our dinner here. Luciano was easily the best waiter I’ve ever came across. Knowledgeable on the menu and was so attentive. You’ve got an amazing team, from the kitchen to FOH staff. Food was not only delicious but fast, and well presented. Bruschetta and zucchini flowers were the BEST. We will be back and definitely recommend your restaurant to everyone!! I've been to Olive & Angelo already a few times and they never disappoint. They have one of the best pizzas in Brisbane and the service is always on the high level. I like the ambient, sitting outside is very comfortable and even though they are close to the main road there is not much noise due to their walls.

Really nice atmosphere, food and staff! The place is set up really well, it may be packed with people but still quiet enough to chat over the table. Staff are very friendly and have great recommendations regarding the menu and drinks, so put your faith in them if you can't decide! Food was quite nice, fair for the price.

We got there right on 5 o’clock and it was quiet, so that didn’t last long. The beautiful hum of people eating in a home garden atmosphere with fresh herbs flowers and ornaments to look at and smell. I don’t need to say but I will, the food was absolutely out there with the best Italian and was certainly the freshest I’ve eaten in years! One slice of pizza I had a different flavor in every bite. Just had the most phenomenal experience!! The food was to die for and the service was incredible. Our server, Grace, looked after us so well and was such a lovely and friendly presence. She was very thorough in looking after my partner who has several allergies and was extremely kind and polite. The food was well worth its value- ( first time I’ve ever had a prosciutto pizza where they didn’t skimp on the prosciutto!!!). Overall a wonderful experience with excellent food, atmosphere and service. Thanks again to Grace for taking care of us! :)

Loved the atmosphere. Beautiful outdoor gardens setting. We loved that our table felt more private, facing into the beautiful gardens surrounding us. Delicious food and wine and excellent service. Food was a little slow to come out but they had a lot of big groups so it was understandable. Highly recommend!

I love what they have done with all the herbs and potted plants. It doesn’t feel like you are even in the CBD. Felt really homely like I’m having lunch at my Nonna’s house. The food is amazing !

The gluten free breads were very dry and tasteless. I did ask the waiter what they were like but he didn’t explain the texture (which waiters normally do so we can make a decision whether to order it or not). I was with non-coeliacs so felt guilty that the breads were so bad. The garden area was lovely.

We went here for dinner after our wedding and it was beautiful. The decor and atmosphere were perfect, the live music was great, the food absolutely delicious and the team member who looked after our table, Sophia, was exceptional. If you're looking for authentic Italian in Brisbane, Olive & Angelo is the perfect spot to indulge in a truly traditional and delicious experience! As soon as you walk into the restaurant, you are greeted by a lush garden, which includes pots of fresh, aromatic basil and parsley. The lighting (at night) is beautiful; this quaint joint is perfect for groups and couples. The staff are friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful if you're feeling indecisive! Angelo was our server (he is also the owner, and the fact that he was out on the floor serving and working with his staff was so humbling to see - he is extremely passionate about his heritage and the cuisine). The food left us speechless... literally, we couldn't stop eating! The pizza dough and pasta are made in-house, and I would have to say that both are the best I've ever had (and, I've travelled to Italy!). The olives and pickled vegetables are all done by Angelo, using his mother's traditional recipes and methods - you can definitely tell that a lot of love has been put into the art! The spaghetti vongole was an absolute show-stopper; fresh clams, fresh home made pasta, the sauce, the delicate and well-balanced flavours of chilli, garlic, etc simply transport you to Italy! The spaghetti paired wonderfully with a Tuscan Pinot Grigio. And, I mustn't forget the panna cotta... what a way to finish off dinner! The overall experience was superb; it was like listening to a Puccini Opera! Ps. This restaurant is COVID-Safe; now that we aren't in lockdown, this is the perfect time to get out and support local businesses!

Beautiful Italian pasta and wine with a beautiful courtyard outdoor seating surrounded by herbs garden. Had the seafood marinara, gnocchi, beef and pork ragu ricatoni, chicken pesto pappardelle. All delicious. Service was good. The chef personally came out to explain the menu. I will try the purple pasta next :)

Beautiful experience. Much thanks to Nadia. We were pleasantly surprised by the vegan and vegetarian options. We ordered the focaccia and cheese special. They were both fresh and beautifully complimented each other. For the mains we ordered the Ortolana pizza and Pappardelle alla barbabietola pasta which were perfectly portioned and delicious. Finally for the dessert, we ordered the affogato Classico and the torta di banane. Very rich in flavour and perfect way to end a course. Will be coming back for sure!

Food is alright but not that exciting for us. The red vegan pasta is quite nice. On my visit for lunch, the service is not that great. Have to wait for quite some time before someone attend to us and lead us to our table, when the place is not busy.

This restaurant has a cozy romantic garden and live music but upstairs was very loudly. We couldn’t hear each other and the food was was mediocre. Lots of birthday songs were sung by the Chef and the waitresses, the vibe was nice for celebrating occasions.

Great gluten and dairy free friendly options. I had the Agnello pizza and also substituted the eggplant with artichokes, I haven’t had pizza for years, but I had the gluten free base which is super thin and light, but tastes great. Another highlight is the garden, which is great to feel in a city restaurant.

The menu sounds amazing but the food didn't meet expectations unfortunately. I got the gnocchi with prawns. It seemed like there was only one prawn (cut into pieces) through the whole bowl. I was expecting at least 4 whole prawns (minus head of course).

What a cosy little place in the city. I was very impressed with the home made gluten free pasta. It was delish and a great texture. The sauce was yum too but scarce. Such a shame my portion size for a main was absolutely tiny and for $38 😔 Italian culture is supposed to be about sharing an abundance of delicious food. Will return and hopefully the portion sizes have improved.

Beautiful green, alfresco setting. The young lady who ushered us to our table and looked after us, deserves a ‘10’ for her demeanour and service. Angelo also deserves a ‘10’ for his genuineness and heartiness re his interactions with patrons. The four of us had a lunch booking today, to celebrate a friend’s 70th birthday. All food choices were delicious, generous and well priced. (The lasagne particularly, was absolutely delicious.) Sincere thanks to Angelo and his Team for looking after us, so well, today. Tried Olive & Angelo for the first time on Saturday night and we were amazed by the wonderful warm service from the moment we checked in. In particular Ingrid our waitress was superb and lovely. In terms of food, we were quite surprised at how good a pumpkin soup could be. Possibly the best pumpkin soup we have had with perfect toasted croutons on top. The marinara pasta and pizza was also delicious. Great place, will be back for sure.

Fantastic pizza, a real sleeper, flavour I injected dough which you can eat on its own. Easily the best pizza in the CBD Interior is a little tired, but the flavour is amped up on its pizzas and the risotto packed a tonne of shellfish flavours.

Was not busy, but needed to have some heating. Ask and you shall receive. I mentioned it to the staff. It was overlooked. The restaurant is mainly a garden setting. Parking can be difficult. Street parking around the area, mainly from 7pm evenings. You can use the City Cat to Edward St or moor your own boat next to the gardens in Alice St, walk 3 minutes to restaurant. New BCC moorings. Well done BCC!!

Service was 10/10 and atmosphere was lovely. It was a shame the food was below average...The eggplant on our Agnello pizza was charred to a crisp (we had no idea it was eggplant!), the sauce was bland and the sweet potato was cooked unevenly. Our pappardelle con Pollo was also disappointing. The pasta was unevenly cooked and flavorless. Can't recommend the food, sorry.

I had a lovely work dinner at Olive and Angelos a couple of months ago. Yesterday, we visited again on a personal lunch date with my Mum, wife and two friends. One of my friends and I worked with Angelo on Hayman Island 30 years ago, so it was a lovely chance to revisit these times and share stories with Angelo. Angelo and his team looked after us incredibly well and the anti pasto and mains were incredible, in particular. We were all raving about the food and service and could not recommend Angelo's more highly. We are planning our next visit for a few months time...will become a regular haunt. Easy 5-stars.

Words cannot describe the quality of food here, it was fantastic! The pizzas were great, the pasta was insanely good and the desserts were a great way to end the dining experience. The atmosphere is great, totally removes you from the feeling of being in the city & what’s probably the best is the amazing staff! Delicious food, good service , great ambience in a garden atmosphere. But be carefull walking around in Brisbane. There are scooters for hire and people leave them in random locations for people to fall over! Go to the Gold Coast instead. Much safer!

My husband and I enjoyed the most delightful evening at Olive and Angelo. Despite eating a vast quantity of food, because it was so delicious we kept going back for more, we felt light and lovely before, during and after the meal. My favourite cuisine is Italian, but I had given up eating it when I could no longer eat gluten. So to be able to enjoy a delicious pasta again without feeling heavy and bloated was heavenly for me! Our food requirements were catered for with great care and understanding. The food here is sensational, but even more outstanding is the love with which it is prepared and served. My party of 8 did not experience any of the exceptional service that many had spoken about on Google review, drinks took an inordinate amount of time to be served on each occasion and we had to request that our table be cleared 15 minutes after we had all finished dining and if we could see a dessert menu. That being said, the food was quite nice and the owner, after delivering a resounding rendition of Happy Birthday to other diners on three occasions, did apologise for the service shortcomings and offered several complimentary desserts. I can only assume that the Google rating for this restaurant is because of the experience involving shouted 'Happy Birthday' renditions (several on our night). In our experience it certainly can't be for the food quality, which was very disappointing - from the plain and rather tart bruschetta, to the burnt lasagne, to the very ordinary tagliatelli. I found it hard not comparing it to so many other good Italian restaurants in and around Brisbane where I didn't feel I'd wasted my money. On the plus side, the staff were all very pleasant and efficient ... if only they could improve the food!

The atmosphere here is pretty good and the staff were polite even when I walked in early. The place wasn't even open and the staff member was too polite to send me away, so I left anyway. The produce must have been a little off on the Thursday the 10th of the month we went. I could see that everything was balanced pretty well and the portions we just right. The food was as seasoned as it could be but the depth of flavour the chef was working with was pretty bad. Maybe it's just that post Covid supply chain that is affecting everyone. I will come back and see what the food is really like because when you have better supplies.

Was disappointed with the food, we expected this type of establishment to have freshly made on site pasta - ours was packet stuff. My meat sauce was lacking seasoning. Though clearly plenty of room, we were placed directly under the walled aircon resulting in the use of blankets (provided, thankfully). Wait staff were tremendously friendly and attentive. The chef (owner?) and some wait staff sing happy birthday to those diners enjoying that celebration; it’s a lovely touch that tends to have everyone singing it. As a large group (16people) we had some difficulties on our side finalising numbers and organising our menu (we had a set menu chosen from the function section of the website). The staff were incredibly patient and helpful to us with organising both before and on the night. The food was delicious; most notably the mushroom risotto and Vedura pizza which were both favourites on the night. The créma brulée was also a highlight of the evening. Grace was an incredibly attentive server and our favourite part of the evening was when she danced with my partner after Angelo and his team sang happy birthday to her. If you haven't visited Olive and Angelo for a birthday before, I highly recommend that you do, if only to hear Angelo's wonderful rendition of the classic. It's been so long since I left a review. We've been generally sticking to what we know for the last few months and those restaurants already have their stellar reviews from me. But, we've sold our house and decided to treat ourselves to a night in the city. Rather than just eat out for the sake of it, we decided to try something new, and a bit more upmarket. We ended up here and I'm the first to admit I'm not a fan of Italian food outside of Italy. Olive and Angelo is the best Italian food, not only in Brisbane, but anywhere I've tried in Australia. We had burrata, which is usually overpriced mozzarella. This was not. The family recipe for the Giardiniera needs to be released. I'd buy jars of these pickled vegetables. I had a Diavola pizza. Perfect. I was told less is more by the Chefs son, and he was right. The Rigatoni with beef and Ragu was obviously made in house. Any chef can tell the difference. Topping off the night sharing a Tiramisu was our only mistake. We should have got one each. Not too sweet, not too heavy. All in all a perfect meal out. Our best new restaurant in a long time (sorry Thaiways, we still love you) Meeting the chef at the end and chatting just rounded it off. You can hear the love and passion and it's inspiring. As a chef myself, it was a wake up call to try harder. We cannot recommend this place any more. Oh, and Priscilla, our waitress, was just a barrel of fun all night.

Lovely location and atmosphere, very good pizza base. Problem is with the pastas. We ordered 8 different mains (sorry kitchen staff!): 2 gnocchi, 1 orecchiette, 1 risotto marinara, 1 rigatoni, 1 ravioli 1 lasagna and the porchetta. The gnocchi were superb, nice texture, definitely homemade but both the sauce (bolognese and gorgonzola sauce) were very bland. Orecchiette were probably the worst. While the pasta was good, the ingredients were odd. The "sauce" was supposed to be anchovies, broccoli and shaved grana. There were 3 whole anchovies on top, 4 huge broccoli and no parmesan. It was like having three different meals. Risotto felt like it was cooked in the oven, however flavours were all there. Rigatoni lackluster, sauce was very poor and the pasta tasted like it came out of a box. Ravioli were nice, however the filling was definitely not enough (they were flat) Lasagna was microwaved, which can be ok, but the pasta sheets had no texture, so maybe a couple of minutes less? Porchetta was good The experience was nice, don't get me wrong and everything was enjoyable, however with so many Italian restaurants around, we were expecting a bit more. Will probably give it another go.
