Stumbled across this restaurant as we wondered through the shopping precinct of Brisbane CBD. Lots of food to select from on the menu. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great location situated in the middle of the busy Queen street shopping mall and has a good vibe. My wife had the calamari salad and I couldn’t go pass trying the beef burger, both our meals were generous servings, fresh and tasty. Full service bar available so had to grab a Guinness and Canadian rum to wash down our meals. Worth a visit if your looking for a good meal. Highly recommend

Busy night. Staff super cheerful really getting into the holiday spirit with punters. Dancing laughing really doing well with the few grumblers about proof of vax requirements. Great atmosphere in the middle of the mall.

Brisbane has the best shopping mall in Australia. Where else can you sit down alfresco, enjoy a coffee or a cold beer. A bit like in Europe, but better climate. Pig 'N' Whistle is an institution on the mall and definitely worth a visit.

Tried breakfast here. Great food. I had the egg Benedict. The champagne ham was very flavourful. The egg was nicely done and the muffin was soft and tasty. The smoked salmon was also very nice. I would give 5 stars for the food but the price is slightly high. Great experience nonetheless. Very polite waiters.

Had an early dinner in the Queen St Mall and decided to try Pig 'n' Whistle...so glad we did. A lovely lady (Isabel) was so attentive and helpful 💌 The food was full of flavour, served nice and hot with large servings. All at reasonable prices for a city location. We will definitely be back.

It’s good to be eating out again. Nice fish and chips (x2), well cooked and presented. The meal arrived partly covered with the serving paper. Meal was well enjoyed, although a bit more expensive then your average fish and chips price.

Staff were friendly and very welcoming when we arrived. Indoor or outdoor seating was available. Bar, music and tv. It is right in the middle of Queen St so it is busy and noisy but whats a good lunch when you're not enjoying what you have on the plate? Had a beautiful birthday lunch here with my boyfriend. We had little time so we both ordered a crispy chicken with potato and beans w/ a side of onion relish. Was perfect, beans were still crunchy and the dish actually delivered a crispy skinned chicken. Chicken was cooked perfectly (just wish it was deboned) and the mash potato with the sauce and the onion relish was just a cherry on top. Definitely would recommend it on special occasions.

It always impresses me how many blokes walk past and become absolutely mesmerised with this place. We have beers, we have street theatre. That's 3 stars alone. 1 more star for beer. Last star is a moss for poor pouring of beer... Bad drills.

If you're a mad keen football fan, this is the place to come. The food is average, and priced for an inner city crowd, so expect big dollars for lower mid range produce. The draught beer selection is okay, and would prefer a couple more english ales on tap-but that's a personal preference. If you're just after a point with mates while watching the sportsball, you're into a winner here. If you're expecting a little more than that, you might want to move onto somewhere else.

Usually a well-run place to get a drink and a bite to eat, but not on 31st Dec 2020. Visited on New Years eve for lunch. Staff did not cope with the number of patrons. Poor management of staff on this day. They got three orders wrong around us and seemed to prefer talking to each other rather than engage with the customers. Staff need some training if you want to bring back regular customers. I gave my feedback to the staff on the day.

I ordered the British style fish and chips. The fish (advertised as cod) was well cooked and the chips were chunky and crisp. Unfortunately the size of the meal wasn't good value for $28. Along with a pint of beer for $12 made it an expensive little dinner. The service was really good and the food delivered quickly. The bar is in the queen street mall near Edward street. We stopped by for drinks and a light snack. The staff are very friendly making for a good atmosphere. The live music this evening was excellent. On a warm evening it’s highly recommended and good value.

I had to go to Brisbane today from the Gold Coast to pick up a special present for my Granddaughter from a store in the Queens st Mall, as it was lunch time I called into the Pig N Whistle in the Mall, I was greeted with a smile and given great service whilst there, I ordered a rare steak with pepper sauce and a pint of beer, the rare steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and the pepper sauce the best Ive had, the chips and salad were just as good, Top marks Guys & Girls! I would recommend if you are in Brisbane any time call in you wont be disappointed!

Great spot on Queens St Mall for a Balter on tap, we frequently popped in for a pit stop during our recent holiday. We just couldn’t understand what was up with the sewerage smell though? It was so bad on one occasion we left along with other tables. Hopefully you can sort out the issue as I can imagine trying to eat a meal with that wafting through would be rather unpleasant.

See, I like my coffee made a certain way, and it's somewhat complicated, but Eamon enthusiastically said, "Too easy!" He made it absolutely perfect, too! It made my whole day - not only the delicious coffee, but moreover the over-the-top friendly, helpful, and kind customer service from Eamon. This is my one and favourite go-to place in the Brisbane CBD, and I can't say enough good things about it! Yet another adulatory review! Three friends and I went for lunch. We arrived early so had a choice of seating and were served almost immediately. For that time of the day the menu choice was sufficient, the chosen meals delicious, but a bit too small (although I'm not a fan of huge meals). We took our time even though other diners arrived. There was no indication of "hurry up. We have more customers". There was plenty of room still available. The drawback is the credit card surcharge. I'm not sure if that also happened to the use of EFPOS payments.

Tip - the bar side is generally pretty full in peak times however, you can sometimes do drinks in the restaurant side and get table service rather than line up at the bar. Tables and chairs also a bit nicer on that side.

Nice place for a pit stop after shopping. Staff pleasent and food was well cooked and tasty, had flash fried calamari which can be hit and miss at restaurants but perfect here. My wife had a chicken curry which she thoroughly enjoyed and for myself a pulled pork roll again very nice. Only downside the price was a bit steep but to be expected due to the location of the business.

Had a fantastic time here! Went with my family of 5. The waitresses/waitors were so sweet amd friendly! The waittress who served us was really sweet and we all had a nice chat with ger about the Boxing day rush and how shes hoping to get in on it before everything is sold out. The Waitor who served us was a wonderful gentlemen! Our drinks came out in close to no time at all, their Lemon, Lime and Bitters is my favourite Ive had anywhere! We ordered Nachos and Wedges, the Nachos were also my favourite Ive had anywhere and the Wedges were perfect! We were astounded by how generous the portions are, lots for all of us and stil more, I respect places that give you a generous portion!

Sat. 20 Apr.2019: The mood of the service varies depending on the time of day. I have bought the occasional glass of wine or cake and coffee. Sometimes I have asked staff for hot water for my flask. I usually ask for sugar sachets which is fine by them. But on this night the biggest shaved head bearded bar tender assumed I was a bludging vagrant mooching off their coffee supplies. He, not knowing the aforementioned. He began to instruct me on how to be polite, then shuffled me with his words to the edge of the bar, dinging the bell to dismiss me. It was applauding. I just won't be a patron when he is on duty. If you are a gay man life's a ball on the dinner shift. Hopefully jealousy won't cloud their judgement when they serve you. Update: Sat. 6 April 2019: Against my better judgement in a benefit of the doubt mindset I thought I would have a coffee during late night peak trading hours. Nonsensical, I know. The security guard greeted me and I asked him if he thought an ambush was going to happen, from his on the ball body language. The staff called me every flirtatious name except for asking for my real one. What is it with younger men these days? Maybe they don't want a girl their age who listens to bubble gum pop? Reviewers should take into account that the menu prices have to include the restaurant's high running costs, the convenience of being open 24 hours, and high wages that must be paid for overtime and graveyard shifts to staff. I ordered a mid sized soy late and wasn't going to stay, until I saw a little nook and cranny behind the guard where I could sit in peace. While observing my surroundings and happy being solo, Mr. Mrs Telly Tubby shuffled the way in my direction. Clearly, there was plenty of other seats to take. Why must they be "peace disturbers"? Like a scene from the retro "Fast Forward" tv series featuring Magda Szubanski characters. It was time to evacuate. Like the instructional signs at Ulsan beach S. Korea to Japan should North Korea invade. They might " throw rocks". A year earlier: Functioning Alcoholics will have to scull there drinks if served near 1.00am, an unusual site to see in Australia especially on weekends. Patrons order their drinks in bulk and must consume them by 1.30am. It's rather strange spectacle considering there are international hotels in the same neighbourhood. The liquor licence finishes then. I had cakes and coffee a few times. The young foreign staff were nice on the last visit. But I was the only patron at one point and was wondering why it was taking them soooo long to make a coffee. I guess they were harvesting the coffee beans out the back. But one staff member that was rude to me months ago is no longer there, which doesn't surprise me.

Had the Chicken Tikka Masala here, a true British classic! This is served with a generous amount of rice and naan bread. The curry itself was good, not too thick or heavy. The naan bread was very greasy though and tasted like it had been reheated from hours earlier. The service wasn’t great either and the toilet facilities were terrible, you need to borrow a key on a long baton to gain access to the portacabin style loo. Where are you supposed to put this huge keyring baton when you are in the toilet? I would recommend Jimmy’s on the Mall instead, just a two minute walk further up Queen street.

Love this place but sadly I think Brisbane City Council is forcing them to close...not renewing their lease. But, I've always had great food and service from all the Pig 'n' Whistle places.

Top spot to sit and watch the world go by. The meal was, unfortunately a bit of a miss. I ordered the English pork pie. I had seen pork pie advertised at the other pig and whistle opposite the city hall, but for some reason they served theirs with chips! I love pork pies so I was happy to find a place that sold them. Perfect for a sunny winter day with a pint. Sadly, I was let down. Firstly, the pie arrived without the hot English mustard advertised on the menu, replaced with whole seeded mustard. This amounts to a culinary crime akin to serving a rack of pork ribs with mayonnaise. I was told there wasn't any, but there was Branston pickle on the plate so I had to make do. I was offered chili as an alternative to hot English, which resulted in an awkward silence. Then, oh horror of horrors, I discovered that the pork pie had been warmed up! The waitress was kind enough to get that fixed for me, but further surprises waited in store. There was a sort of tomato relish on the plate. This tasted strongly of okra and did not add anything to the either the garden salad or the pie. The salad itself was dressed with some form of gluggy bottled dressing that was more French than anything. At the end of it all the pork pie was pretty good, but there were to many things wrong with the whole plate for it to be memorable. Nice place for lunch though. Just don't order what I did.

The food was not terrible, not amazing. I had the fish and chips. My waitress, Milly, was wonderfull. She is an absolute asset your business. However, what appeared to be the manager, obviously thinks he’s to good to be there. The waitress is run off her feet while he is staring around empty eyed. In tough times like these, your company has plenty of people to choose from. I would not want my business represented by someone with such a poor attitude.
