Amazing rustic atmosphere. Shaded. Just enough run down to be very nice. Perfect for road trip rest. Very popular with ladies lunch groups. Friendly service: But $40 for 2 passable HCT sandwich & 2 very hot flat white on longlife milk means we’ll probably never stop here again (which is very sad given the environment).

Great place to visit. A hidden gem. Beautiful gardens & tranquil setting to have morning tea or lunch. Had a Devonshire Tea. The scones were beautiful. Plenty of options from the bar if you prefer something stronger. Would be a fantastic venue for a party

Visited for lunch last week, bit confused as to where the restaurant was not well signed but ordering at a bar right out the back. We ordered standard menu items, which some how got messed up, server was not interested nor offered any way to fix the issue. My seafood was way over cooked but my partner still ate his and mine. Salad however was fresh but could use some dressing! Very rustic, smokers are made to feel welcome from signage (not that we are) We we’re going to sit outside in the generous garden area, lots of seating available but lots of water dragons right at tables, sorry not my thing so went into bar area. Lots of interesting memorabilia on the walls, probably a good place at night with the stage/bar set up. Could do with a tidy up in places.

Great place that I picked up on, for a ride toward Tin Can Bay....never knew about it before, but will be going back. The site brewed Premium Lager is very good and food excellent. Great ambience in the environment setting.

What a great find! We were roadtripping north from the Gold Coast and had no expectations on what we'd find. Passed a sign saying "craft beer" which caught our attention! Beautiful spot with very good beer - could have stayed all afternoon. Would love to see it when COVID has passed - the atmosphere would be electric!

A big surprise!!! Just off the main road, this secluded bar/cafe is big and shady. Good food to choose and craft beers available on tap. It is the best stop over location in the district.

Mother's Day Lunch with most of Family: Ambience unreal under the beautiful mature trees/ferns & large friendly lizards aplenty!! A Special Menu for the day - not Page after page selection, but great variety from a roast to Thai Salad, or steak or a oh, so tasty chicken breast, bacon wrapped & yummy creamy mustard sauce or seafood & of course the option of different alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks. Absolutely an amazing place to enjoy a lovely lunch or dinner,, and a couple of drinks. The meals are huge, well priced and delicious. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and a waterfall, with light music playing in the background making it a tranquil, place to visit.

A friendly layer back place. I only went if for a beer, but they have an inviting menu available. I tried their own brew, a Workers Gold. Quite good, I reckon when I go back tomorrow, I will try some of the other brew made there. Certainly worth a visit and I am sure I will give the menu a try. Keith

They don't even need to advertise. The Silky Oak is a local legend. Very friendly service in a relaxed and welcoming environment. On your way back from Rainbow Beach? Stop in for a beer, you won't be disappointed. Plus this is a great spot for a function and I still get asked when we are going to organise another Silky Oak visit from friends, family and work colleagues. We live in Kia Ora on a farm and our city friends always want to go down to Silky for dinner. Helen and Daryl are great and we appreciate having a fantastic local to drop in to.

this is the best place to go to if your on our way to tin can bay ,rainbow beach from gym pie you must drop in for lunch,dinner or just for a drink or two,you will be blown away the food is great,helen and daryl the owners treat you like long lost friends,on every full moon they have a pig on the spit sooooo much food,fresh baked bread that is still hot,the gardens are to die for just walking around checking out the gardens and all the old artifacts hanging on the walls is just great.i have taken many friends there and they don't want to leave i could go on and on about this place but you have to go and see it for urself,i wish i own this place myself .great place helen and daryl be very proud of what you have
