Eleven of us had lunch in the private room on Friday. The food and service was outstanding. Particular thanks to Neesha who looked after us with skill and professionalism. We were all very impressed. Great menu, and the crab pasta special was exceptional. Highly recommend the Alliance for a great meal, very reasonably priced, excellent staff and very pleasant ambiance. Well done, we’ll be back.

Despite it being a very busy Saturday night with functions all around everything was top rate. Been here for a few events/gathering in upstairs room. They have modernised upstairs, looks a lot better and fresh now. Staff here have always been friendly and attentive. Usually fed platters of finger food, which is always good quality and taste.

Nicky and her team are amazing. When my wife was in hospital just up the road at St Andrews, she had just had major surgery. After a couple of days in recovery she had a craving for wedges and sour cream and sweet 🌶 sauce. I rang The Alliance Hotel, Nicky answered the phone she told me it wasn't on the menu but would get it sorted anyway. Then gave me her mobile number to call when I was ten minutes away so she could have them ready. On arrival there was gift bag and a huge serving of wedges. Many thanks to Nicky and her team for going over and above .

Seriously cooking without making an impression S27°27.675' E153°1.597' In the centre of Spring Hill, Brisbane QLD, we had dinner in The Alliance Hotel in September 2018, with the restaurant in the back. After schooners of Kosciuszko and reading the menu of this QHA best restaurant, we ordered pan fried duck breast with spring onion, pearl barley risotto, savoury muesli and sour cherries (AU$34.90) and the special of the day 500-gram grilled pork Tomahawk with roasted potato cubes, papaya, sweet corn salad with Montpellier butter (AU$34.90). Impressive menu. The duck breast was well prepared and had nice flavours, but consisted of only five slices of duck breast. Good work was done on the risotto, but no matter how good a restaurant risotto is, it will not show such a rich texture and just-right doneness of good homemade risotto. The pork was served stacked on the potatoes (still not sure about this presentation habit in Australia) with a lot of fat on the bone, which added flavour to the dish. The dishes were pleasant and the result of serious cooking efforts, but there was no wow-factor on our taste buds. These expensive dishes left no impression or impact to return the next day. The waiter knew the menu and looked after us. The Alliance takes cooking seriously, but the food left no impression.

We dined at The Alliance Hotel for a private function last weekend, the venue is perfect for this purpose, we were a group of approximately 30 people and we were in the upstairs area. It was a beautiful room, no outside noise and very private, the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. There had been a misunderstanding when orders were place weeks earlier and mine & my husbands meals were not served, we are plant based eaters & when the mistake was realised both the waitress & chef went out of there way to make us a meal. After a short wait we were served one of the most delicious Vegan meals we have ever had, it was five star!!!!.......We will be back........Thank you so much for going out of your way to make us comfortable:)

As someone who lives in the city, it was The best food I’ve had In ages. Had the rump (med rare) with chips, veggies and pepper sauce. Could have eaten that pepper sauce with a spoon. Reasonably priced and very accomodating to children!

We've just had our staff Christmas function today at the Alliance Hotel. The manager and event co-ordinator were fantastic to deal with. They were very accommodating and helpful with the food selections for our event. The staff were really nice and professional. The food was excellent. All of my staff mentioned how great it was. I would highly recommend the Alliance Hotel for any type of function.

I had dinner on my first night in Brisbane at the Alliance Hotel. I did not stay at the property. It was a warm and wonderful pub atmosphere, reminding me of stays I've had in the English countryside. The staff was very accommodating and helped me on the menu with my food allergies. I enjoyed a full meal with dessert and enjoyed each minute. There were a few small parties and it seemed like a nice spot for a couple's night out, a small celebration, or just a traveler catching a bite. I look forward to my next trip to Brisbane to sample more of their menu and hospitality.

Stop reading these reviews and get down to this joint. Brisket and linguine were ordered tonight for mains and Scotch eggs for entrees. Amazing. Food is out of this world. Service - even better. Was very happy with the lady serving us, she had sound knowledge of menu and drinks. Professional yet had great humour. Our 2year old was grizzly, but the girl serving us - Georgia - if memory serves me correct - even remembered my daughters name when she served her food. Big tick Very happy customer(s)

Oh my days!! Bloomin amazing food cooked to perfection and balance of flavour 👍. I had fish of the day which was monk fish AMAZING dish. My hubby had a eye fillet steak from Clare Valley, SA. It MELTED in your mouth it was thats soft and the smoked mash was a perfected match with the seasonal veg. The staff were very knowledgable ref their menu and bar selection of IPA beers and wines. I defo recommend eating here. And next time Im in Brisbane we will be back. Thank you Alliance Hotel Chefs, waiters and bars staff for an amazing evening.

Had Valentine's dinner last night. Everything was good until I brought my hand-made chocolate cake as a gift for my boyfriend. A staff kindly provided us with the plates, however, when her manager saw that they kept looking at our table (she seemed to be blamed). With the unpleasant gaze, we ate a little of the cake and left the restaurant. When my boyfriend paid the bill, they said they would charge us extra $3 per person for providing plates for our own cake which they didn't mention before at all. The food was nice but I may probably won't come again given that was Valentines Day and they left us a disappointed ending.

If you choose just one historic pub to visit in Brisbane this is it. Forget those fake 'old' pubs. The most attentive friendly staff, an awesomely restored historic pub, amazing food - bar and restaurant - and rotating taps of some of Australia's best craft beers. I love their rotating IPA selection. Say hello to Tim - a real hands-on owner who is always ready to pour a pint or deliver an awesome cocktail :) Also great area for events - looking at booking one for business event soon

Always a great little selection of craft beer. Today's review marked down a bit though, since the "new and improved" Nashville chicken burger recipe is not tasty anymore. This was agreed by my friend who ate the same. The chicken fillet was overcooked and no longer spicy, and the change in slaw was sadly less of a compliment to the burger than the old ingredients.

We hosted my mother-in-law's 90th birthday at the Alliance in the room downstairs. The room is private and very relaxed. Perfect for our group size of 20. The food was great, the ambiance and service was also terrific. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Can highly recommend the Alliance.

We rocked up for lunch on a Saturday and discovered there was a bookings-required set menu. The only other seating available were high stools. One of our party has hip issues and couldn't get up on those so the staff kindly seated us in the main dining room, we ordered from the a la carte menu and the food and service was of a very high standard. This place was excellent. I booked their private dining room for a family members 60th and from the first initial contact over the phone until we walked out after our dinner their customer service was exceptional. They were so accommodating to all of our needs and requests and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was also superb. Every single person in our group raved over what they ordered and are now thinking of excuses to go back there! All in all an excellent experience - cant wait to return!

I had the full function experience, nice view and when we were outside some drunk fella walking past tried to fight me and my mates. But the other patrons were helpful and we diffused the situation respectfully and without any bloodshed. But thats not a comment on the establishment rather the drunk people walking around in Bris at night. Small bar upstairs has a small but current and modern selection of beers and other assorted drinks and the foods provided were super, we had a chilli eating contest, I won.

We had our staff Christmas party there on an extremely busy Saturday night in Brisbane (every hotel was booked out- an indication of how busy Brisbane was). The food was amazing, came out quickly and the staff were always attentive and polite. Great choice of music played in the front bar too!
