Comments of Au Lac Dickson Vegan Cuisine
P. K.
We loved the food. The taste of the dish that we ordered was awesome. Definitely, we will go again to taste other dishes. The staff were good and ambiance was very nice and clean.
C. M.
Amazing spot for vegetarian food in Canberra! You'll never believe it's not beef/chicken/fish. Tried the ginger fish and it was delicious and flavourful, with crunchy fired tofu on the outside and seaweed wrapped "fish" inside. The berry brown rice was subtly sweet and fragrant, definitely worth the rice upgrade. The vermicelli cannelloni was more traditionally Vietnamese in flavour, but still good. And save room for dessert - the banana fritter had a nice, crispy batter and paired well with the soy ice cream and coconut milk. Definitely want to come back to try the rest of the menu!
Y. W.
Delicious, reasonably priced vegan fare. I haven’t had broken rice in years due to it being so hard to find without meat, this one hit the spot incredibly well! Laksa was also great. Would love to try the rest of the menu!
C. C.
Loved our experience at Au Lac! At this stage, we can consider ourselves beginning to love the vegan cuisine and Au Lac helped us on that journey.
It's our first time to eat at a vegan restaurant after we had a yoga retreat and ate only vegan dishes for a couple of days. Everything that we've ordered at Au Lac is just exceptional! We tried their Au Lac Spring Rolls, Chicken Laksa and their Au Lac Beef Pho. We loved it so much, it somehow made us forget that they are all vegan (even tasted better than the traditional meat dishes). Even the presentation of the food is very enticing.
Their service is also good, they were able to serve the food quickly on our table.
We will surely come back to try their other vegan dishes.

Some vegan friends took us to this Vietnamese restaurant in Dickson and we were very pleasantly surprised. Every dish was delicious and I particularly liked the soy chicken and the mushroom fritters. The massaman curry was possibly better than the original beef dish it was mimicking. The restaurant itself is casual in style and dishes are reasonably priced. It was quite busy when we were there with in house customers as well as take away. Our friends did warn us that mains are often served before the entrees we’re finished and sure enough, despite us stipulating ‘no mains until entree’s finished’, the soy chicken appeared. This was rectified without any fuss. My husband and I will certainly be returning- I just want a whole plate of mushroom fritters to myself!😋 4.5⭐️ from me.
K. Y.
The best vegan food in Canberra and you wouldn’t know that it is vegan because its so good. My favourite dish is the royal noodle soup, has a great variety of fried tofus in a spicy noodle soup with fresh herbs.
J. P.
Really nice outstanding vegan food! Also well presented with an eye for detail. I tried a kale-apple smoothie and it was good but tasted like celery was used. Also we had to ask for our rice twice while our main meals got cold, same for drinks. Other than that a good experience with friendly staff. Parking was difficult at dinner time.
E. T.
Really good food overall. The eggplant and mushroom dumplings are the star for me. There are other included in the banquet, but these are the best. The cold roll is alright. The spring roll however is the most bland. It's quite a decent amount of food for the price so definitely won't leave you hungry.
A. K.
Firstly everything is vegan here if you’re checking.
Meats are made of tofu or vegetables and taste very close to the real deal. Even the Vietnamese fish sauce is vegan & also no eggs either! Everything on the menu is delicious, fragrant and salivating vegan food.
Best vegan restaurant in Canberra with a taste of Vietnam’s and other asian cuisines.
Soft shell crab & Noodles are really tasty and I highly recommend it. Also the drinks are great too & you’ve got to try them. There’s a rule that staff can not bring any outside food into the restaurant to keep the food to be purebreds. Enjoy this little gem of a restaurant
L. B.
As a wholly vegan restaurant, it is very easy to pick this venue when you need a place to hang out with vegan friends.
The food is amazing and you sometimes forget you're at a vegan restaurant.
It is very popular and busy during busy times so bookings are a must!
T. F. D.
It was nice to discover a vegetarian restaurant in Dickson, serving wonderful food and healthy, refreshing drinks. The soy fried ice cream could have been better, but we still enjoyed the ambience and friendly service. Both vegetarians and non-vegetarians should give this restaurant a try!
M. M.
A simple seating style to devour a sumptuous vegan meal in Canberra. It was a surprise as faux meat is served in Vietnamese flavour.
I definitely recommend Lemon Infused Chicken stir-fry with steamed rice. Fried noodles with pan-fried vegetables and tofu are a delicacy. Chicken dumplings with chilli sauce and Chicken satay rolled in peanut sauce are a filling choice for starters.
Their service is fast and it is best to reserve a table as footfall is significant.
H. R.
Delicious! Great service and yummy food. Anyone would enjoy its all vegan and there are a lot of plant based meat options available, for those friend who might wish they'd gone to a typical restaurant.
C. L.
Not a vegetarian but decided to try this place out anyways because of the ratings. Husband and I really enjoyed the food and think even if you're a meat lover and aren't told it's mock meat you'd enjoy it too, from both a taste & texture perspective. Considering it was all soy meat, we're super impressed, especially with the soy pork char siu.
Service was friendly but not super attentive or quick. Had to try several times to get service and overheard an incorrect order fulfillment. The place wasn't even busy when we were there.
H. J.
Small dishes are good and really recommend chicken and duck soy dishes. Pepper steak appeared to be just several small burgers which was dissapointing. The hotpot dish had a weird smell and wasn't really good either. Their icetea is delicious though.
L. H.
Canberra vegan institution. Huge menu with loads of fun Vegan version of dishes including traditional stuff like broken rice and pho. Other cusines too. Usually soy nuggets as the meat alternative. Get the hot and sour noodles, super yum.
S. F.
We had satay tofu, pho and some cold rolls. They were all pretty good, especially the pho Could have used more herbs in the cold rolls as they were a bit bland. We didn’t try any of the soy meat. Splurged for drinks which were delightful. This store is good but the Woden location is just a little bit better.
J. A.
Wow. Just outstanding selection of dishes on the menu and very tasty and full of flavour. Not just for vegans but something for everyone's tastes.
M. F.
Most delicious mock meat in the city. My Omni boyfriend absolutely loved it! The best dish must be the southern spices barbecue “pork” featured on the left. The staff are friendly, though sometimes hard to get their attention when it’s busy - understandable though. Overall, a beautiful vegetarian/vegan option. I would recommend this to anyone, veg/vegan or not.
L. G.
OMG! How did I not know this place existed? The best Asian style food I've ever had. Large selection of options, drinks and dessert. Good service but not great. Parking right out the front.
W. P. B.
Wow! We loved the food, especially the Eggplant Hot Pot Sensation. I've never tasted anything so good. The Vege Laksa was delicious too. Initially the service was poor, the waiter was very inattentive. We were at the Dickson restaurant. Once the proprietor took over servicing our table the service couldn't have been better. He was very friendly and generous. His staff let him down. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Especially if you don't have a vegan option in your town (we were out of towners). Next time I am in Canberra I will definitely eat here.
Q. L.
That wonton soup...🤤
Royal Vegan cuisine from Vietnam. No msg. Totally Vegan. I underestimated it from looking at the menu... would totally make this my local favourite if I was local. Great friendly service too. Trust this place for good quality wholesome food.
G. C.
Was late to reach at about 2pm, 15 minutes before they close for afternoon break. Service staff was friendly, food was great.
B. B.
One of the tastiest Asian vegan places I have eaten in even though I ain't a VEGAN but the food here is really delicious highly recommended been here twice on our 3days visit to canberra
E. L.
Looking for a vegan place to go? This is it. Absolutely love their soy beef pho - almost tastes better than the real thing honestly. Highly recommended place for vegans and vegetarians and anyone in the middle!
P. L.
I had never been to Dickson before so I chose this place as it was one of the busiest in town on a Sunday night.
The food was good and arrived at the table very quickly, so quick that I got my main course before I was halfway through my entree. Service was ok but a min EFTPOS fee of $35 is a bit much, luckily I had some cash otherwise I’d probably be doing the dishes right now.
A. Y. Y.
One of the best vegetarian restaurant in Canberra. It also has a sister restaurant in Woden shopping centre.
Must try eggplant in special sauce and spicy salt coral mushroom.
M. C.
Absolutely amazing food and service.
This place was fully booked and I can see why. The service, selection of foods available and price were spot on.
There was not a single thing I could fault and the food was divine, I'll be adding this as a regular place to eat when in Canberra.
S. V.
Great selection of vegan options, menu has a huge variety of Asian style dishes. Staff could be friendlier. We ordered stir fried noodles it was watery and very oily at the same time, it could definitely be better.
R. L. D.
Ate here a few weeks ago when I visited Canberra and the satay was quite tasteless and watered down. I highly recommend do not order that dish, I was quite disappointed considering they charge almost $20 for that dish alone. And they don't split bills however they still charge a percentage per transaction! There's other vegan restaurants that are of better quality so I wouldn't rush back to this place.
K. H.
We had take away. It was delicious delicious and delicious. Did I mention it was delicious. So scrumptious 😋. 4 our us shared 3 vegan meals & fried rice. Wish they where I lived......
y. y.
Nice vegetarian foods. I order three dishes and all taste really nice.
C. W.
Service was friendly and fast. The food delicious. Being vegan, the options on the menu was endless or so it seemed and had a hard time making our selections. We ordered the springs rolls, satay with vegetables and tofu, fried flat rice noodles with soy meat and tofu and the soy lemon chicken. Each dish had its own distinctive flavours. If we were staying in Canberra a little longer, we'd definitely come back to try other dishes.
D. L.
Hells yes!
Pretty good value for tasty classic Vietnamese themed flavours.
R. M.
Great veg-Asian food. Fresh and tasty. Good prices. Friendly service. Can't wait to go back for the dumplings, eggplant hotpot and crispy noodles.
J. R.
This is a fantastic restaurant. So much to choose from that all sounds and looks amazing. Service is super fast and everything we've ever ordered has been sensational. Highly recommend. And the value for money is off the chart.
E.
This is genuinely the best vegan pho I have ever had. I've been all over Australia and even tried in Europe but nothing comes close. Their other noodle soups like the laksa and royal noodle soup are the absolute bomb, as is the lychee duck curry and eggplant pot. I've brought all my non vegan friends here and they're converts now. We always come back here because we know the quality will be excellent and it'll hit the spot every time.
R. S.
Delicious vegan food and has not disappointed so far. Every dish I have had here has been good and I would love to go back.
T. V. (.
Good quality vegan food that is also good value for money. Good location and customer service.
T. B.
The food was unique and delicious. Excellent range of gluten free options on a separate menu. I had the Hu Tieu with savory soy sauce, yes gf. It had peanuts on top, bean sprouts, celery, and this delicious creamy crunchy tofu. It was amazing, and the broth that came with it was so flavorful, I drank most of it and used a little to loosen the noodles and sauce. I am still tasting it, and I'm not even vegetarian.
r.
I have been here approximately one million times. Even my vegetarian food hating relatives have come here and enjoyed their meals. The food is always so delicious although I have not tried an extremely wide variety of dishes because I found one that I love intensely and I have stuck to it. My personal recommendation is the satay chicken. The portion sizes are quite large and I always have leftovers for at least one meal but sometimes even two.
m.
Had the lemongrass chicken. Perfect seasoning with a hint of chili. Definitely recommend.
G. D.
Food is always delicious.
They played the birthday song and brought the cake out with candles. We didn't even supply the candles so that was a good gesture!!
P. P.
Excellent taste, huge portions. Was very pleased with the food! The service could have been a little more attentive, but the food more than made up for it! I usually cannot finish a bowl as big as mine was but I absolutely polished it up until the last drop of Yellow Curry!
S.
I like the concept of this restaurant, but the 'beef' in my massaman curry was cold in the middle so I didn't enjoy the experience. Of the others I dined with, one said her veg was undercooked, but the remaining four said they enjoyed their meals.
L. P.
All three dishes we ordered were delightful. The texture was very meat-like and the flavours were great. The restaurant was a good amount of busy on a Tuesday night but we got a table straight away. Will definitely be eating here again soon and sampling more of the large menu.
J. F.
I love Au Lac! There's such a variety of yummy dishes here. The restaurant has a nice feel to it and the food is always great no matter what I order.
S.
Faux meats were a bit weird but flavours were good, a bit pricey but a great place if you’re vegan as the menu is quite extensive.
s. h.
The laksa was excellent. Good size portion. First one in but when i left the resturant was filling up. The prices seemed reasonable.
M. T.
Absolutely fantastic for vegan eats. The sou duck and beef massaman are incredible. The staff are efficient and friendly, food is well priced and remarkably quick to serve. I would go here as my default vegan option every day of the week.
S. I. -. T. G. W. &. A. O.
Great vegan food, reasonably priced and with a more luxurious decoration style than you normally find in this type of restaurant, it is a go to Vegan venue, the food is great! Dickson has all the variety of food you could want, parking can be an issue when it is busy, we try and go on less popular nights. we try and avoid Friday and Saturday for Dickson.
A. M.
Laksa was very good. I will come back.
c. m.
We had two good dishes and two so so dishes. It's a vegan meat replacement type of restaurant with Asian fusion mixed in. I wouldn't rush back but I would go again.
J. T.
This place was my go-to when I lived in Canberra as they have quite a few rally good vegetarian dishes. Nowadays regardless of how many meals I can have during my visit and despite all the new restaurants that pop up in Canberra, I'll always make room for a meal or 2 here. The BUN BO HUE is my fave, a must try.
C. F.
Delicious food, amazing range and great service. Some of the best Asian vegan food in Australia hands down. Keep up the good work!
R. P.
Food is good and tasty. It doesn't have the same feel as the other Au Lac in Phillip, which I prefer. There's no outside seating, but ample inside. The place gets noisy as the night progress and the seats fill up. The service is fine, maybe a bit abrupt. Is it that hard to smile?
J. K.
Very fast, and great tasting food!
J. S.
The best vegetarian restaurant I've ever been to! It is especially good for mock meats. Lovely staff and the meals come out pretty quick. I would recommend the combination laksa, coconut curry chicken or Southern Style BBQ pork and deep fried soy ice cream!
A. M.
One of the best vegan restaurants in Canberra. Traditional Vietnamese food with no animal products used at all. We have been going to this place for the last 8 years and it has never disappointed us.
The look has changed a lot over rhsese years but nothing has changed when it comes to their great food options.
Y. E.
Favourite pick for vegetarian and vegan friendly dinner. Great for groups and birthdays. The staff are friendly and local and always do their best to help, even though it gets really busy!
We recommend the soy duck wraps, soy chicken salad and soy beef and peanut. Extensive Vietnamese menu with lots of traditional favourites done as vegan versions.
Also they do soy fried ice cream! You just have to ask. So exciting to get to eat dairy free ice cream out at a restaurant.
A. T.
A regular stop for both take away and dine in! Fantastic vegan food -some of the best in Canberra, in my opinion. Everything is consistent and delicious. Would highly recommend for vegans and omnivores alike
K. L.
I find the concept of this place strange, surely vegetarians and vegans don't want to eat meat, and surely others would be happier eating real meat? The menu is large and varied, with soy substitutes for a variety of different meat dishes. The actual soy meat is awful, it tastes like burnt plastic and has nothing in common with real meat past appearances. The mussaman curry sauce we had was good, I just avoided the "meat" chunks. The actual traditional vegetarian dishes without any artificial meat were great, especially the eggplant clay pot sensation. If you are a meat eater, or have taste buds, I'd recommend going for the tofu and vegetable based dishes and avoiding the artificial meats. The desserts and drinks were good. The prices were fairly high.
E. K.
Au Lac is a place you should visit often enough to eat through the many delicious highlights on the menu, some of my favourites are Vietnamese cannelloni, Peking Duck Rolls, Laksa, Pho, rice vermicelli salad, eggplant dish in a hot pot.....not to miss are the lovely drinks and desserts.
The service is excellent too. The restaurant can be busy and I would recommend making a booking.
C. B.
Great place for Vegan and vegetarian meals. A lot of the meals are based on meat dishes but with soy based with a similar texture to meat. The laksas are really good and spicy.
Highly recommended by reviewer who is carnivore.
J. S.
A great place to experience vegan cuisine with friends. As someone who eats eggs and chicken every day, I loved everything I had at Au Lac. Highly recommend!
D. L.
We had an excellent meal - food delivered in good time and super tasty and healthy, and the best gluten free options. Au Lac is one of our favourite restaurants in Canberra and has never let us down.
J. W.
Absolutely delicious! Came back a few nights later to try more dishes. Fantastic mock meats and amazing flavours. Staff were friendly and food arrived quickly.
D. M.
Reliably delicious - for the past decade and beyond I've tried to eat at Au Lac every time I'm in Canberra (a few times each year). Great range of tastes, always prepared with care, and as a vegetarian it's great to know that the Laksa, Tom Yum, etc have no shrimp paste or other hidden animal products!
J. A.
This is quite literally my favourite place to eat in Canberra, hands down. Even when I'm away from Canberra I wish there was an Au Lac near me. I recommend ordering every single thing on the menu because it's all amazing. Favourites include the tofu rice paper rolls, duck crepes and satay chicken skewers to start, the lemon chicken, plumb duck, southern spices pork, clay eggplant pot for mains, the laksa or pho if you're after something big, delicious and cheap, and the banana and coconut icecream for dessert. Also make sure to grab some jasmine green tea and ask for free hot water refills throughout the meal to cleanse your pallet of Lal the food you will surely eat!
J. P.
Very good vegan place that I am happy to go to whenever we have a vegan in the dinner party. Would recommend to any vego/vegan or meat eater.
C. D.
Definitely my favourite vegetarian restaurant in Canberra (note, I'm not even vegetarian, my fiance is vegan though). Combination laksa, beef pho, salt pepper crab and beef stripes are the top 4 dishes in our list. Three bean drinks is the best drink/dessert for me, fiance loves the deep fried ice cream instead. Sometime they could be really busy so make sure you book a table.
R. S.
Probably the best vegan food I ever had. Highly recommended!!
A. D.
I probably set myself up for disappointment when I ordered one of my favourite dishes (green curry chicken) in a vegetarian format. The fake chicken really didn't do it for me, and the sauce was in short supply. That said, the massaman beef my friend ordered was significantly nicer and the service was attentive. I would probably give this place another go if I was invited there again, but it wouldn't be my first choice with so many other options available.
H. T.
My absolute favorite place in the world, and that's not an exaggeration. I used to go here every second day for lunch, weekends for dinner and now that I've moved interstate, I still drop by everytime I visit. All their dishes are amazing. A must try is the banana flower sweet and sour soup, the deep fried fish & eggplant hot pot. Devine
B. K.
I loved it! The food was tasty, has a great use of texture and the service was good. The atmosphere was nice - only issue was the place was a little cold!
E. U.
Best restaurant in Canberra! Great staff and super quick service. The food is delicious and inexpensive. A good range of food and drinks suitable for children even the fussy ones. Even the non-vegetarians in my family including my grandma loves it there!
P. C.
An amazing vegan restaurant! I would recommend this to any person veg or non-veg. Amazing soy meat especially the soy beef. Friendly staff and great service!
R. W.
Fantastic food, fast service and great atmosphere!
I took my non-vegetarian boyfriend here and he enjoyed it just as much as I did. The menu is extensive and has something for everybody!
W.
Great food, at a relatively Canberra cost (pretty pricey). The service was a bit patchy, we asked for water three times before we got it, and they try very earnestly to up-sell their food which seemed a bit pushy. But the mains were serviced quickly and a delight to eat.
L. W.
Great vegetarian food here. Love their duck wraps and noodle soups. The pricing is also very reasonable. Can be busy, so may need to book ahead.
A. G. U.
Sad little animal flesh eaters.. it's funny that they will take the time to post a fake rubbishing review on a vegan restaurant. Obviously if you enjoy eating dead animals, this restaurant is not for you. If on the other hand, you are not too silly to realise we shouldn't be eating animal's corpses.. you will thoroughly enjoy the beautiful food, atmosphere and staff at this establishment.
S. S.
A really wide range of dishes and what we chose was DELICIOUS! The service was a little slow but given how busy they were when we went, I wouldn't hold it against them. I really enjoyed it and recommend you try it if you haven't already!
H. F.
Some dishes are better than others. The spring rolls, massaman 'beef' and spicy salty 'squid' were good. The green curry chicken was not as creamy as they usually are at Thai restaurants. The service was quite attentive at times (e.g. when I accidentally dropped my chopsticks on the floor someone was immediately there handing me replacements). But when our mains came out there was a long gap (maybe 10 minutes) between the first two and the second two dishes.
U. M.
Great atmosphere, amazing food, especially eggplant in clay pot was simply sensational!
M. P.
I'm neither vegetarian, or vegan, but a work colleague is. Had the Laksa and was pleasantly surprised! Have since returned with my partner and highly recommend the Laksa and deep fried tofu.
A. C.
Best vegan, vegetarian food in Australia! Be sure to get the laksa!
N. K.
Very good numnums. Laksa followed by deep fried ice cream with caramel sauce is a flawless choice for greatest meal of all time, but also I've tried almost everything else on the menu and haven't had anything yuck. Au Lac is an absolute staple.
B. H.
Amazing food, great service, always packed, my wife and I eat her almost once a week. Love that it's entirely vegan and no alcohol is used in the kitchen or served by the staff.
A. A.
Au lac is incredible, you can't change my mind.
But no, really, their pho and dumplings are incredible, you gotta go there, get some delicious pho, and some fried dumplings, thank me later
S. N. L. D.
Online ordering system allows orders to be made, paid for and gives a pick up time even though the store isn't open. Be aware that Au Lac is currently NOT opening until 5pm, they were kind enough to fulfil our order though, even though the kitchen was closed.
D. S.
As a vegetarian I love the place. Very busy during usual hours always dined in love the food served hot.
J. T.
Edit: it's gone down in quality. Portions are smaller, not always perfectly cooked, and either not very tasty or far too salty.
Sooo good. One of the best vegan places I've ever tried.
j. m.
Brilliant food, whether you're vegan or not. Great value, too. Best restaurant in Dickson, one of the very best in Canberra. Absolutely recommended.
D. M.
I am not a vegan, but I love this place. Meals are very tasty, faux meat dishes. You would never know. Check it out for something a bit different.
C. W.
The dishes we ordered were reasonably priced with balanced seasoning and good taste, and served by friendly staffs. Will come back again when visiting Canberra.
D. C.
Picked up a selection of takeaway meals for an at home birthday party. Absolutely delicious and a big hit. Thank you au lac!
G. V.
excellent vegetarian food, and can cater for different dietary requirements. Super friendly and helpful staff. Always top quality, an icon of Canberra's vegetarian food culture!
K. P.
I really like this place, especially since their revamp. I like the rendang beef curry. The Peking duck rolls give me life, but would be better if they had shallot in them like they do in most places.
L. R.
Delicious vegan food, service was friendly and fast. The food was delicious with lots of option, and a nice place to eat.
J. P.
Great food and I don't normally choose vegan, but I like tofu. Similar atmosphere to other Vietnamese eating places.
A. G.
Stopped in for a quick lunch. Menu is extensive and food was fantsastic. Great value for money and considering we snuck in just before the end of lunch service, the staff were super friendly and made some great recommendations.
C. B.
My favourite vegetarian place, which speaks for itself because I am not a vegetarian. I always order the Lychee Duck curry with the lychee iced tea. Yep- i like lychee and Au Lac is a must go to whether you are a vegetarian or not! #biggestcarnivore #lovesaulac
A.
Canberra's best laksa - bar none. Light and modern, friendly and always busy. Plus sometimes they give you free 'prawn' crackers (even with take-away). Always recommend.
A. P.
Great vegetarian options. The Vegan meat is so similar to real meat it kind of freaked me out at first. Food was great, will be back.
A. H.
A Canberra favourite. Perfect for vegans and those interested in try something different but tasty.
P. K.
My favorite dish is "Au Lac broken rice". Great service at affordable price.
M. D.
A great place for combined veg/non-veg parties. You won't miss meat at all! The texture, mouthfeel and flavour are all very good!
J. A.
Great food that really gives the illusion of eating meat with correct texture and taste. Decent service. Good atmosphere, slightly crowded.
P. L.
Fantastic vegetarian restaurant. I have eaten in many similar and this is the best by far. I recommend the roast duck and the curries. Love their food!!!
S. K. C.
Great vegan food in Canberra. Our regular spot for vegetarian choices.
F. G.
Fresh, delicious vegetarian (although I could have sworn I was eating beef). Fast and helpful and friendly service - we will visit again next time we are in Canberra!
M. B.
I am not vegetarian yet this is my favourite Vietnamese food in Canberra. Healthy and delicious, and that is not usually a word I would use when referring to tofu.
i. k.
Best vegetarian restaurant. I always had roast mock meat in my orders as well as lemon chicken. The mock chicken has crispy skin to die for
A. M.
The best vegan food and meat substitutes I've ever tasted. Their vegan chicken laksa was amazing.
G.
Food was extremely well presented. Quality was fresh and tasty. Servings were generous and cost reasonable. Downside, service was disfunctional and staff not very observant.
C. C.
Average food. Pricey. Not sure what is all the fuss about. Dont ever go after 2.30pm (they will rest till 5.30pm) even if they say it is ok. The cook wont be okay and would be upset with you.
j. b.
Love rice paper rolls, gluten free crepe, Vege fish sauce that comes with both dishes, veges. Friends like lakes, satay chicken and chicken shish kebabs with satay sauce. Hot pot, corn fritters, watermelon and Lychee drinks
J. D.
"Beef" rendang is amazing!
T. A. J. S.
Good quality food, staff seem fine but nothing more. Everything here is vegan to my understanding (they have dairy desert options)
S. S.
Fake meat is really tasty, also the service is wonderfully considerate. Cup was a bit smudgy but everything else was clean and great.
J. s.
We had dinner here with friends. The food was great and the service was great however it was noisey and couldn't have a full on conversation and it was a little too warm for my liking. thank you
B. I.
Great vegan restaurant, while variety of Vietnamese feed, just need a couple of vegan beers from a 5 star
K. L.
Extremely impressed! Amazing flavours, quick service, and so much cheaper than a normal restaurant! New favourite and will be returning regularly!
j. s.

Awesome faux meat textures allow you to enjoy traditional dishes while being vego. Food was quick and tasty!

Amazing what they do to replicate meat. Must try this experience when in Canberra. Unique, delicious, well priced, great service.
S. O.
Food is OK but their on pick up time estimation is shocking. Add 20 min to whatever they tell you. This is a regular problem
G. R.
The food is very nice. When the owners are there the service is great otherwise the staff are not that great.
Try the Chili Crab. Its fried mushroom and its amazing.
E. W.
my partner is a vegan and I am vegetarian, so we are regulars at Au Lac! Always find the staff are friendly, the service is fast and the food is delicious!
S. M.
Delicious fresh vegetarian food, with fun fake meat and fake fish dishes too. Try the chicken drumsticks entree, the "bones" are lemon grass stalks!

3 very good dishes (from 9) Other mains OK. I wouldn't bother with the dumplings or buns - they were absolutely sub-par. It's a 3.5 really.
