We had dinner here in late January 2022.
The food and drinks were good - especially liked the cheeseburger sliders and the caramel popcorn sundae.
The service was extremely good. Staff were there when needed, but not otherwise.
Recommended.

Perfect atmosphere. Staff were extremely friendly and catered to all needs willingly. The food was amazing as well I am excited for my next visit.

Spectacular place. Delicious cocktails and better food. The service is superb, very attentive waiters. We'll look forward to come back. Thanks !!!

Love the hotcakes and the banofee pie. Hope they can redo Sunday lunch as before

I know it’s early days but I’m calling it; best meal of 2022! My husband and I ordered the tasting menu and it was off the charts. Incredibly generous portions, exciting dishes, served by super lovely and accommodating waitstaff. Thank you 86 for a fab evening.
N. H.
I have been to 86 for numerous times for the past five years.
I always come back for Pumpkin Tortellini, banoffee pie and Sicilian Hit cocktail. These are the must haves!
The hot dog was a great hit. The chocolate bavarian was so so. Today’s banoffee pie was more like grainy toffee pie (can’t really find or taste the banana)
Around $60pp without drinks and $75pp with drinks
Minus 1 star for the uncomfortable sitting situation and waiter stopped us bluntly mid ordering.
Me: - ‘Can we also get... (about to say the name of the dish)’
Waiter *cuts me off* : ‘That is enough. You can order more later’
It was my first time ever experience this type of situation. Keep in mind that we did not ask for his opinion at all regarding how many dishes should be ordered. And we didn’t even order that much (4mains for 4 adults) but he made us feel quite embarrassed so we ended up ordering less :((. We would appreciate his concerns if we did ask for his opinion however we did not. So Yeah it was weird.
Note to the owner: please upgrade your table! It’s not okay to cram 4 adults into a tiny square 60x60cm table. One table can sit 2 people ideally. Thank you!
Note to chef: please slice the bananas a little thicker. Thank you very much!

One of the top two restaurants in Canberra. Words can not describe the smooth, silky texture of the pumpkin tortellini, and the chocolate bounty was as light as air. The choice in cocktails complimented the food perfectly. The only thing that let the meal down a tiny bit was the risotto.
Unfortunately, I didn't catch the servers name. He did an excellent job. His timing was perfect and he was very accommodating to everyone in the parties needs. I only wish I caught his name.
I would most certainly recommend eightysix, and will hopefully return again someday.

Best overall restaurant experience in Canberra to date. Last stop on our way back to Melbourne. Service was excellent, attentive, friendly, helpful and each course was perfectly timed, just as we finished one course, the next one arrived promptly. Highly recommend the chef selections. Ceviche and Tartare were my favourites and you must have the banoffee pie. Had a brief chat with the staff about the origin of the restaurant name, smart. 5 stars.

Following Nick Spencer’s journey from Eden Road Wines, to his own eponymous label, Nick Spencer Wines, led me to Canberra earlier in the month. Joining a long table of oenophiles at Eighty Six Restaurant Braddon in Braddon, we worked our way though Nick’s soon-to-be-bottled new releases against a well-executed feast ($130/head).
Brook trout roe served on potato scallops with creme fraiche gave the juicy 2021 Petillant Naturel ($28) something to work off, though it’s hard to imagine a food that wouldn’t work with this natural style wine. Beef carpaccio with white anchovy aioli and watercress came with the quaffable 2021 Rose ($28). The wine is salmon pink and very dry, making it quite the summery quaffer, while the carpaccio was so delicious I just wanted more of it. Sensibly though the kitchen was helping us save space for cauliflower and Pyengana gratin with the flagship 2019 Tumbarumba Chardonnay ($40): a cracking match with a standout wine.
Moving through barramundi and an even better lamb shoulder that pulled from the bones cleanly, my wine of the night was the 2019 Medium Dry Red ($35) from Gundagai. Made using Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Portuguese Touriga Nacional, this surprising medium bodied red would be a good compromise for a couple where one likes fighting reds and the other is a Pinot Noir drinker. Eighty Six excels in simple food, like a buerre bosc pear tarte tatin, which leaves the chef nowhere to hide without perfect execution. Luckily the kitchen had that well in hand…

One of the best dining experiences in Canberra.
Tasty, interesting and comforting food in a cozy and bustling environment where you receive first class service and delicious cocktails

My partner and I came from Sydney to spend the weekend in Canberra. We arrived Friday after 4.30pm. After we checked in at the Hyatt, we drove to Braddon and parked the car in a side street and began to look for a place to dine. We decided to approach eighty-six restaurant and check their menu. Before we had a chance to open the door, a young waiter greeted us with the most incredible smile and gave us all the information we needed to know. We thanked him and told him that we were going to look around and then decide.
After stopping outside several restaurants, we made a decision to return to eighty-six and dine there. The handsome, bubbly waiter immediately noticed us and delightful opened the door and greeted us. Taking our umbrella to place it in a bucket, he prepared our table and handed us the menus. We made sure to tell him the reason we returned here was because of his genuine and excellent customer service making sure we were comfortable and served on time etc...
He was successful with the add on sale ( dessert) and instead of one dessert, we ended up with two. Couldn't resist and had to add him for his name. He replied, " my name is Miguel" . We will never forget his service and will definitely return. Food was amazing. Please boss! Give Miguel a payrise. I know a perfect asset when I see one.
Thanks a million Miguel

This place came highly recommended by a friend and he was right. The food is based on shared plates that vary in size. We loved our choices of crispy eggplant with Chilli sauce, prawn and zucchini flower risotto, gnocchi with asparagus and lemon and finally a brocollini dish. All yummy with perhaps a little less dressing or sauce being used would make it even better for the great quality produce used to stand out.Our waitress on the night was really friendly and professional. The chefs in the open kitchen could look out and interact with guests a little more. All in all a great place and one to try a few times more.

Eightysix has some of the best food in Canberra. I recently popped in post-dinner for dessert and the classic banoffee pie was incredible as ever. The restaurant has strong modern Australian vibes and is fancy but friendly/causal at the same time. The food here is pricier in comparison to other Braddon restaurants but well worth it in my opinion.

Best food in Canberra in over 3 years of living in the ACT!
Shared a birthday dinner here with my partner and we ordered the Tasting Menu. Each dish was beautifully presented, unique, of a generous serving size and absolutely delicious.
Highlights included the Steak Tartare, Lamb Ragu (both pictured) and Banoffee Pie.
L. S.
Back to full capacity with a delightful vibe. We had the tasting menu, got so engrossed in the food forgot to take a photo! Loved every dish, stand out for us was the kingfish ceviche and the pumpkin tortellini plus both desserts, delicious.
Attentive table service but not intrusive huge plus for us was we could hear each. Delightful evening.
S. T.
Must try the ravioli and deconstructed cheese cake! Ordered the set menu for two and every dish was generously served. The staff and kitchen were kind enough to swop the desserts since we had too much mains and felt too full. The chicken was soft and falls off the bone. Very flavoursome. Some dishes might be a bit too spicy for my personal liking but the overall taste was amazing. Staff was also super easy going and friendly.
P. H.
What a wonderful experience. Buzzy, casual ambience with its open kitchen and energetic kitchen crew, and great service (especially from our friendly server Brinlea). Their Mod-Oz cuisine is packed with inventive flavours. We started with the Fragrant Crispy Eggplant (my favourite) and continued with a delicious Gnocchi and Asparagus, and a Saffron Prawn and Zucchini Flower Risotto (my partner's favourite). Thanks one and all!
M. A. A.
Great food, loved the kale dish and the black chicken.
Staff were wonderful. Noise levels a bit high was hard to hear each other.
c.
Loved every single dish! Service was great too
L. M.
The experience was good but food is pricey for how much you get. Our waiter was great and paid close attention to our dietary requirements. The cheeseburger sliders were fantastic and the flavours on the beef fillet were great as well.
C. B.
A great little restaurant. Staff where friendly and helpful without hovering and being overly impactful. The meals are tapas style, very nicely presented and tasty. The cocktails were well made. The image is of the hard lemonade.

Best experience in Canberra of two weeks hard eating and drinking. Eightysix is the local secret you wish you could find every time you travel. A big, open dining plan still feels cozy, but if your dining party is small enough opt for the bar and the views of a steady parade of delicious dishes as they come through.
From the outset, you’re hosted by wait staff with a memorable attitude. If you’re stuffy and like to be unduly treated like a princess, gird yourself, because these folks are here to enable a fantastic gastronomic experience matched with great wines....not dither over your dietary preferences.
That said! The food is ideal and covers every hankering you could have. Plan to share, working off a one and a half plate ratio per person. The buttermilk chick chunks are light and moorish - a far cry from over-friend chicken elsewhere. The tomato and mozzarella coming dripping in pesto, the portion is big enough as a single meal, superb! If you’re after something hearty, the lamb shoulder will quench that desire. Pumpkin and marscapone or the four cheese risotto are proof that vegetarians are not relegated to one dish.
Ensure you leave room for pudding whether the. Deconstructed Pina Colada that lives up to its name brilliantly, likewise the banoffee pie was recommended to me by three busybodies on learning where I had reservations; worth every bite!
Not least: the wine. Staff know what they’re talking about, and endear you with personal experience of plenty of the drops. Australian Shirazes should be your go to, or the pinots. I recommend having a mosey look st the whiskies to finish.
Go here if you want one of the best dinners in Australia, and enjoy a gritty and captivating style of service and food.

Some of the best food I've ever eaten. Coming from a couple that have traveled to around 70 countries between them

IMPRESSION
TripAdvisor stated this restaurant was in the top ten in Caberra.
Upon arrival I found the restaurant was dimly lit with outdoor and indoor seating. There was table service and I liked the lighting behind the bar, quite impressive.
SERVICE
The staff were friendly and personable.
They explained clearly what items were on their menu.
FOOD
I had the Kangaroo with beetroot, although a small entree size it was delicious. The price however was quite expensive at $25.00.
The Pina Colada dessert extremely full of taste, but very light. Best dessert I have enjoyed in some time.
DRINKS
I tried their Silician Hit which had unique flavours, but not generous in alcohol.
OVERALL
My water and the above cost a steep $74.00.
While I enjoyed my selections, I can feed my entire family of six at a restaurant in Brisbane for that amount with significantly more food.
If you do not care about cost vs value and just want something special, then this restaurant might be for you.
Myself, spending that amount of money and returning back to my accommodation to eat a snack to feel satisfied.... I will not be returning to dine there again.
C. A.
We went here as they rated number 5 in top 10 restaurants within ACT. Food was OK, a bit overrated for what you pay though. The pumpkin tortillini was pretty good, but my wife had the fried chicken which did not have any wow factor to it. My opinion is too expensive for what you get, not one of my favourites.
A.
Epic, as always. The new truffle menu inclusions are stunning. The gnocchi with cream manchego sauce is perfectly balanced and the crostini with prosciutto and truffle makes sure the truffle isn’t lost. Go the banoffee for dessert every time!

700000/10
The most delicious food experience I had for a very long time
Tried the set menu, good value for the amount of food you get
All dishes were mouthwatering
The service was world class
Good job Team 86 💪

Great experience here. Very delicious and elegantly prepared food. Good for lunch, dinner but also brunch. Bookings in advance recommended.
M. P.
Just perfect service and excellent dishes and lovely wine. Our favourite was the duck Ragu.
F. G.
One of the best meals we had in Canberra. The tasting menu had some minor missteps (the presentation of the salmon dish, the sliders not really fitting in with the rest of the meal, the kale in the chicken dish), but the highs were BRILLIANT: the pumpkin tortellini were simply amazing, the figs and prosciutto were delightful, the flavour of the salmon was impeccable. Another detail we loved was the fact that the desserts were not overly sweet or overpowering, just perfectly balanced. Would totally recommend.
R. M.
love eightysix every time we eat here but have to give a huge thank you to the team for tonight (22.08.21). we ordered a lockdown dinner, preordered and picked up with no trouble, but when we got home we opened our bags and realised our banoffee pie (the greatest thing on the menu) had been forgotten. we called up and the lovely staff apologised and offered to deliver our pie, and a few extras, to our house! it was above and beyond what we could’ve asked for. so thank you for an incredible meal (as always), and for the incredible customer service!
T. M.
oustanding service as always! all meals were perfect, they even re-made the kids milkshake because it was too chocolatey!
R. P.
The quintessential dining experience in Canberra! Slick share food comprised of both contemporary and classic flavour combinations that are executed to perfection. Attentive and knowledgeable wait staff with impeccable timing help you through an impressive range of both awesome local and international wines, not to mention the cocktails. The venue has a modern noir feel, yet fun and vibrant ambience like no other. Certainly a must to visit (again and again)! 🤙👌
E. B.
Excellent meal with a unique "All you can eat" tasting menu concept.
We loved the cured kangaroo and the mini hot dog was a bit of fun. The banoffee 2.0 was mind blowingly good, amazing pastry.
Service was bang on and our server was a lot of fun. I definitely recommend Eightysix.
J. W.
Great food, great drinks. Beautiful space and absolutely amazing experience
K. X.
Amazing restaurant with friendly service.
pumpkin and marscapone tortellini, and banoffee pie! So delicious every time - never fails to please!
C. W.
Food is delicious. Do yourself a favour and have the pork ribs and the black chicken. So tasty. Staff are super friendly, helpful and professional. Food and drinks are well priced. We had 4 people with us and it cost less than $100 per head with 5 entrees, 4 dishes, 3 cocktails, 2 beer and a bottle of wine. Great ambience.
A. M.
Have been a few times for dinner and it is a favourite now, cannot recommend enough. Food is amazing and staff are very friendly and attentive. A few of my personal favourite must try dishes were the banoffee pie, the frozen margarita, the pumpkin tortellini, crispy eggplant and beetroot salmon.
N. L.
Lovely restaurant in a relaxed atmosphere right at the heart of the eateries in the area. Lighting is low, decor is simple yet tasteful.
Degustation menu is of surprisingly good value, mixture of different vibes and cuisine styles- good amounts with a limited wine list. The service is prompt and staff are friendly, around about 120 a head with a bottle of wine for 2. Overall a good choice.
D. R.
Probably the most underrated restaurant in Canberra. My recommendations are the beef ragu paradelle, the pumpkin ravioli, and the pretzel banoffee pie. But seriously, everything on the menu is really good.
r. j.
Love, love, love this place. The food is generous and delicious, the staff cheerful and well informed, and the seating comfortable. We are frequent visitors, recently being able to sit outside with our dog, but now looking forward to the cosy indoor seating.
C. R.
This is a superior restaurant with an onsite owner clearly determined to keep it so. It's a shared plate menu so you get to try a fair portion of the offerings. Each one was a pleasant surprise. The aftertaste of the meal was delicious. Go there.
L. H.
Great concept. Feel great on the foodfit plan, more energy, healthier and lost body fat too. Highly recommend it for busy lifestyle and healthy living.
P. C.
The food, the cocktails, the friendly staff and even the atmosphere were all AMAZING! Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re wanting to have a night off cooking and absolutely spoil yourself. I’ll be back!
R. W.
Staff were all friendly and fun. Food was fabulous. I had the steak tartare, Mac n cheese, pork and doughnuts. All were perfect!
J. P.
Amazing food, wine list and a great place to dine with friends and family. They have a great 'feed me' menu and really attentive staff. It's great to see they are offering take away items during the Covid-19 crisis, so we can still get wonderful food! Easily able to recommend this place - it's a Canberra institution!
A. C.
We love this place. Highly recommended... you will not be disappointed!
A. G.
Ate here tonight and everything was amazing. The food was excellent: entree, main and dessert. The banoffee pie was to die for. The staff were attentive, offering to refill glasses when they were low and responding to requests for extra cutlery and napkins promptly. Sat at the kitchen bar - amazing to watch the kitchen staff work. They're all so talented. I'll be back for sure!
H. G.
AMAZING. What an experiance. We came for a birthday and left with very full tummies and a tonne of memories. Great friendly staff, super talented chefs, fab menu. It surpassed expectations in every way. We sat at the kitchen which I can definitely recommend and had the $80 tasting menu.
V. P.
A family favourite and an INCREDIBLE addition to Canberra. Chefs are just outrageously talented and the food is unmatched. Such a special place. Hard to pick a favourite from the menu, so recommend doing the tasting option so you don't miss a thing. Can't rate it more highly. Birthdays, special occasions or just because it's incredible- go there.
A. F.
Glad to find that this restaurant do breakfast on Sundays. Welcomed by a very friendly staff, which made me anticipate our morning will be a pleasant one. As expected, staff there were very kind, patient and helpful. Even one told me how to make their iced tea, as I was telling him how much we enjoyed. All the food and drinks were great. I like my oxtail ragu & cheddar jaffle. Kids enjoyed pancakes and scones. Lots of greens at the shop front, so looking at a street from inside was very relaxing and it gives some privacy to customers sitting outside from people passing by. We had a very nice brunch to start our day. Thank you!
M. P.
Went to dinner there for our first time last night , service was fantastic, the waiter kept our drinks full , and food was fantastic, I had a dessert chocolate Bavarian which blew my mind at the end of our night as well as a underground cocktail which was just as good ,
L. N.
What I love about this restaurant is nothing is too difficult. During shutdown they catered many a time for us and delivered well above expectation and now trading again, the service level is still perfect! As for the taste-buds, ours do a jive every time we mention eightysix!
D. M.
Had a fantastic meal at eightysix this week. Ate with 3 colleagues so we went with the banquet menu. There was so much food and it was all delicious. The cod and the fried chicken were the standouts for me. My colleagues loved the tortellini and the black chicken was also amazing. Must visit if staying in Braddon.
L. J.
What a splendid meal and experience. We just left after celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and enjoyed this meal and the vibe so much. The boss is the right kind of boss and the beef rib is worth it - treat yourself to that and a pickle back! Then even more with a banoffee pie and an old fashioned!
n. p.
Had our company's Christmas lunch here. We did the tasting menu. Had amazing food. I got fully vegetarian courses. Tortellini was the best.
R. P.
Wow !!! Interesting place to eat ... our server was attentive without being intrusive. The meals were artfully constructed with loads of taste bud surprises. The only negative was the polished concrete floor which made the noise level a little too high for comfort. Would definitely pay another visit though .
J. F.
We have been regular diners at 86 for years, and the consistent high quality of their meals has been the reason for our loyalty since they opened. We always enjoy our time here, our go-tos are: duck buns, salmon tartare, chicken liver/ foie gros parfait, black chicken and the frozen margarita. The staff are always attentive fun and to converse with as well, so the overall dining experience is just overall awesome. Will miss coming here now that we've moved interstate.
C.
Share plates. Food was very tasty, but don't expect huge portions. That being said, servings were not small and the flavour was well worth it. Nice staff who were attentive but not annoying. The wine was good and the cocktails tasty - a nice place for a couple's dinner or a small group.
M. N.
Can't speak highly enough of this restaurant. Have been for dinner previously and loved it. Just had a double cheese burger for brunch, one of the best burgers I've ever had - everyone else meal was excellent as well. Service is also top notch, highly recommend.
S. M.
Great place for dinner!
Proper gourmet food.
Important to know.
The share plates get bigger the further down the menu you go so start small.
The $86 per person is nice if you're hungry.
Very dark and noisy though and you'll need to reserve a few days ahead unless you're lucky.
A.
We had an amazing experience here. The food is prepared to a high standard with excellent presentation and full of flavor. The cocktails are made with top quality liqueurs and tasted great. The staff are very accommodating, knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant boasts a trendy and cool atmosphere. A great place to meet with friends. A highly recommended venue ☺
M. H.
One hat restaurant. Great food. Was disappointed, though, that they only let people have the table for 2 hrs. I would have rather dined all night.
O. R.
Seamless . The floor staff are fantastic- first time ever where a waiter replied Yes! to our requests for changes to the set menu. Miguel was fantastic. Sitting at the kitchen allowed us to watch the synchronisation in the kitchen- all the staff worked together and actually seemed to enjoy doing so. The food speaks for itself- outstanding!
T. (. P. C.
Fantastic! Really Fantastic!
We had a group of 20 people for a dinner and they just kept bringing out great tasting share platters till we were completely stuffed. The roast Lamb, Gnocchi and all the dessert were my personal favorites and who ever picked the wine at our table did a great job.
The cost was $125 per head after we added all the wine but It was certainly good value for what we got. If dont drink the food allone was $85 per head.
Very happy and will return soon.
T. Y. L.
Loved this place! Best spot is a seat at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Chefs and staff very friendly. Good wine list. Superb grill dishes - must try the black chicken and order the carrots so you can watch them be flambed.
J. J.
An amazing restaurant with fantastic service. The chefs and waiters are all exceptionally willing to accommodate dietary requirements and make changes to the menu where possible. No meal will come as a disappointment. If you are looking for smaller plates to share to try lots of options, you can't go past 86.
A. T.
High quality restaurant. We go out once a month to decent places in Melbourne and this place stacks up very well. Really good staff (you know when they are one step ahead so you don't have to ask because they suggest?) and quality cooking. Good wines. We had the degustation with an excellent Grampians pinot.
S. O.
Decided to visit after a recommendation. The restaurant was lively and the staff friendly. The serving sizes were somewhat small for the price but we did have the option to order more dishes when we realised we hadn't ordered enough. I would go again but only after I have tried all the other high rated restaurants in the area.
S. H.
Four stars for food, one star for venue, so 2.5 on average.
Tried many dishes, all were good or very good. Eightysix tries to be original and experimental, like Monster. Main course costs 45, starter and dessert 20. Similarly priced restaurants Mezzalira, Courgette, Boffins have even better food.
The restaurant is cramped, with small tables and small uncomfortable chairs. Difficult to move between the closely packed tables and chairs. It is very noisy - have to shout to have a conversation. The open kitchen lets cooking smells into the eating area - the fried smell sticks to clothes. The venue is dark enough to require a flashlight to read the menu (small print on a half-page).
P. C.
The pumpkin tortellini, the lemony gnocchi, and the spiced cauliflower were divine, but many of the other dishes were pretty average despite being very pricey. Everything comes in a tiny intricate shareplate, which left us all hungry and waiting between dishes as they were served pretty much one by one. It was also very very noisy inside, which gave a cosy atmosphere but not a great one for talking. We had a nice time, but probably would have had a better evening if we'd only had two or three people so that we could have had more than a bite of each dish and could have had a more cohesive conversation.
B. A.
Excellent service, very friendly and helpful staff. Love the concept of share plates and the food was interesting and tasty. My only criticism would be the potato cakes which were a bit to greasy, otherwise absolutely fabulous food.
T. F.
Been coming here for 7 years and still our absolute favourite restaurant hand's down, can not find a bad word to say about it. Would give 6 stars if I could
K. W.
Great food and amazing service. Surprisingly good value
J. M.
First time we went I left a bit hungry but this time we did the 8 courses for $86 and it was great value.
The food was all fantastic and I could eat the beef tartar for weeks.
The service on the night was super and very accommodating :)
M. S.
Confident food and service that delivered. If you come here expecting hustle and bustle, share plates and very friendly staff who aren't afraid to interact and share their strong opinions with you then you will highly enjoy it. Not good for a quietour private intimate dinner but if you go with it and with some friends, makes for a great night out. For party of >3 ask for bench seats or outdoor. They sat our party of 4 initially on a table in the middle of the room that was way too small for the sharing dishes (barely fit the plates, cutlery and glasses as it were!). Food comes at different times and random order but all delicious. Enjoyed the fresh gnocchi, popular (for good reason!) fried chicken and fabulous desserts (we tried them all). Will definitely come back!
W. W.
Most share platter places are fairly dull, but 86 had exciting food at just the right size portions for my family and I when we visited. Desserts were great too. Bonus points for giving me a sparkler as it was my birthday
H. F.
Great restaurant. In particular I would recommend the Korean fried chicken, which is served with Kewpie mayonnaise and sriracha. The popcorn sundae with bits of peanut and salted caramel was also great. My partner had the banoffee pie, which he really enjoyed. I thought it was a little mushy.
The pumpkin tortellini was good. The beef with salsa verde was a bit salty to my liking.
This place is very busy, so book ahead. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Although I find they could be a bit difficult to flag down when you wanted to order.
H.
Hoisin duck bun and organic hot dog was spot on and the fried chicken was moist and delicious. Although the two pasta dishes we had (pumpkin tortellini and rag pasta with oxtail ragu) were on the small side, they were both delicious. My mum and I were very satisfied with our meal and the service. However, I would recommend the $90 all you can eat deal for anyone with a bigger appetite.
L. L.
Had to be the best restaurant in Canberra. Try the steak tartare, fried chicken and lamb shoulder - all are crowd pleasers. If you're hungry give the 86 dollar all you can eat option. Great wine list with local options featured.
A. S.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Ozzie . My favorite part is when they ask you "what would you like to eat ? or can we just feed you ?!!" The second option is the best! The food and services is absolutely mind-blowing ... i went here a few times while in Canberra and loved it consistent awesomeness. i left the same review on Facebook :)
P. L.
Excellent food, great service. All the staff and chefs were friendly, we had a good night chatting with Kitty and watching her cook 😊 The boss shared a new shortcrust date and cream pie 🥧 experiment with us....it was pretty good 👍
E. T.
Absolutely exquisite food but as has been mentioned in the other reviews, the portions are ridiculously small. I understand it is fine dining but they could put a bit more in each plate. Quite expensive bill at the end of the day for what was consumed. It is also a rather loud place and the crappy chairs and tables dont really suit the quality of food. Overall food is 5 stars...might be the best ive had in Canberra...but the rest is 3 stars. Probably wouldnt go back...im not rich enough. ;)
A. G. (.
The best restaurant in Canberra. Absolute must to get the $86 all you can eat. The quality and variety is a true rarity. Service is also lovely. You will roll out of here full and cheerful!
L. F.
Incredible food and fantastic wait staff
s. s.
The food is always great, atmosphere is wonderful. Probably our favourite place to eat in Canberra... the all you can eat is amazing, only problem is you leave feeling stuffed!
T. M.
We tried the all you can eat $86 meal..the service was fantastic, we were very informed throughout the meal delivery. The food was delicious absolutely faultless. The only issue was parking!!!!!! It's a nightmare!
We will be sure to recommend this restaurant and we will be back in the near future.
Q. L.
So much yes. This is our go-to to take out of towners to showcase the best of Canberra's culinary culture. Their breakfasts are divine too - make sure you give it a try!
N.
Had the tasting menu :) every dish was a winner, lots of variety and handled 2 different dietary requirements well. Deserts where fantastic
L. C.
I like 86, even though it was busy we were still able to sit at the side bar. The food was excellent, I especially liked how well the kangaroo was cooked. I'm taking one star off because there were quite a few interruptions from the floor manager... I'm not sure why he was doing that.
L. M.
What a delectable, mouth watering dinner! Such amazing flavours 😆. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening! The only criticism we have is the small tables are difficult for plate sharing but everything was so yummy we got over that quickly 🖒
A. D.
Excellent food! Had the fried chicken with kewpie+sriracha, pumpkin ravioli and ghetto beef, all of which were very tasty. The chicken was perhaps the pick of the lot...event nicer than Akiba's Supercharged Japanese Fried Chicken, which I'm also quite taken with. For dessert I had the banoffee pie, which was divine, and of a generous size. Tried a little of the popcorn caramel sundae which I would also recommend. Overall, the place is definitely worth a visit.
Not a comment on the place itself, but the website is terrible. One of these things that's all style and no substance, they should either offer more useful info there or simply not bother. All the info is hidden away on the "contact" page. Why isn't it up front? Why does there even need to be three pages when the info is so limited. And if you mouse hover the logo, it plays music. Bloody hell...

Excellent quality and taste. Had the feed me menu option and it was a very generous option. All the dishes were great, certainly couldn't pick a favourite. Will definitely be back.
N. L.
Great cafe, worth a visit
S. H.
Best food in Canberra. Get a seat on the bar and watch the staff make each dish. They removed the fried chicken dish (sob) but the blackened chicken is still absolutely fantastic and a staple of this dining experience.
N. N.
You guys nail it every time. High quality food and excellent service. We did the all you can eat (again) and enjoyed every single course. That’s right, we ate everything! Would come here again and again and again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
P. S.
What an amazing place. Get a slot at the bar as the work going on in the kitchen is theatre. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. The tasting menu was out of this world. Wow.
J. M.
Dining here is built around share plates. Restaurant atmosphere was fantastic, with food coming at regular intervals, however portion size for each individual dish was lacking - I have had larger entrées than what is purporting to be mains.
N. C.
We seem to have a bad experience at all things well-rated in Canberra. Grumpy/pushy wait staff, broken coffee machine and at the end of the night they over charged us by a bottle of wine and beer on the bill ($75 in total) with not much of an apology! One of their dishes was also laced with peanuts without being noted anywhere on the menu.
S. C.
Its our go to restaurant, great food & service keeps us coming back.
P. B.
Breakfast lunch or dinner the team here always kill it, I may be biased after having my first date with my wife here, but honestly great food, great vibe and an ever rotating menu is all I need.
Hot tip just ask the staff for their favourite selections, they have never let me down
D. P.
The food is always good and even though it's a bit pricey, it's always been a great night out. The desserts are particularly good. The all you can eat is a great option too, and the staff are great at helping you decide what to choose.
C. M.
Hands down the most consistent, amazing place to eat in Canberra. Don't order from the menu, just tell the waiter any allergies or dietary requirements and ask them to start bringing meals out.
J. M.
The pumpkin and marscapone tortellini is to die for and the banoffee pie is one of the best you'll ever had. Oh, and if you're looking for a cocktail try the Sicilian Hit!
J. W.
Amazing share plates. Anything off the menu is great. Can't say enough good things. Really enjoyed eating here.
M. F.
Amazing food, outstanding Service. Little pricey, but you don't mind if the quality is good.
Must book otherwise it would be very hard to get in
R. a.
One of the best dining establishments in Canberra. Food always comes out looking amazing and the perfect taste keeps the husband and I coming back for the perfect date night.
A. H.
Great feed with my lovely wife. The tappas feel and different dishes than we would find everywhere else made it fun to try and can't wait to go back and work through the rest of the menu.
A. W.
Great menu and lovely staff. Reasonably priced and always leave feeling full. I like to sit at the bench and the kitchen are always willing to engage.
A. S.
Trendy, hip, noisy and pretty pricey. If you are hoping to have a conversation among a group- forget it! Service is good, food is OK (but certainly didn't leave full) -trying for the Monster Bar aesthetic but not quiet there.
R. K.
The service was attentive, and the share plates were delightful. Some older red wines would have added to the fullness of those available.
N. O.
Amazing food. We took the tasting menu and every dish was delicious!! Will definitely come back.
R. a. R. V. D. G.
Love this place! Food is always great! Food comes out promptly & i love that we never had to ask to have our water or wine glasses topped up!
S. B.
Always a fantastic meal. We also loved the new menu items since we had been there last
F. G.
Great service, great food
A. T.
Hands down best restaurant in canberra. Food is always amazing and the owner and staff friendly.
M. L.
Had the Eightysix (all you can eat). A delicious take on modern Australian cuisine. One of the best restaurants in Canberra. Hands down.
T. S.
Superb food, creative and delicious. Coupled with friendly service, we enjoy it every time.
C. R.
Great food with " hipster" service... wine list excellent..
M. G.
LEGEN........WAIT FOR IT........DARY!!!!
Serisouly the most amazing food I have eaten in such a long time. Staff were very accommodating and friendly.
Do yourself a favour... if in Canberra... you have to visit EightySix!!!
G. B.
Expensive and felt kind of pretentious. I wouldn't mind if the food was amazing - it was good, but for the price it should have been great. There are definitely better fine dining options in Canberra.
R. S.
Fantastic Quality of Food. My recommendation is to ask for a seat at the Bar - You feel part of the kitchen when you do this and its so fun and exciting to witness what they produce
H. W.
Amazing selection of food and innovative ordering and sharing system. The shared tasting menu was an eye opener to things I never even knew about and loved.
G. W.
Amazing cocktails, great gnocchi, good fried chicken, average duck baos, terrible service (waited 20 minute for a table after booking, took a while to order) - $120 for 2 with drinks
J. M.
Food was top notch. The only problem was they couldn't get it out fast enough. As for prices, well I didn't pay the bill so I couldn't tell you. Service was OK.
B. H.
Now that the hype has died down, there is a nice refocus on doing right what should be done right, and a better balance of fun vs rockstar.
Yummy food, energetic vibe and a delicious wine list.
S. H.
Excellent food, but expect to pay the Canberra mark up - the plates are a little small given price, in my opinion.
B. W.
Brilliant food, everything was fantastic and the food was some of the best I have had in a long time, it also had a fantastic environment which is very up beat and pleasurable.
E. D. D.
Amazing food and great service! Will definitely be back.
T. (. P. C.
Fantastic! Really Fantastic!
We had a group of 20 people for a dinner and they just kept bringing out great …
C. A.
The pumpkin tortellini will stay in my mind for ever. They were perfect.
C. B.
The Banoffee pudding. I'd go back just for that. Excellent service and food.
J. D.
Exceptional food that was surprising and different, great service, welcoming and friendly staff!
H.
Hoisin duck bun and organic hot dog was spot on and the fried chicken was moist and delicious. Although the two pasta dishes we had (pumpkin tortellini and rag pasta with oxtail ragu) were on the small side, they were both delicious. My mum …
L. C.
I like 86, even though it was busy we were still able to sit at the side bar. The food was excellent, I especially liked how well the kangaroo was cooked. I'm taking one star off because there were quite a few interruptions from the floor manager... I'm not sure why he was doing that.
A. H.
Amazing Food and Atmoshpere. Went for Valentines Date and could not be happier.
D. B.
Had the 86 all you can eat and was not disappointed. Creative dishes, beautiful cocktails, and friendly service.
E. S.
A+ fantastic meal. Go for the tasting menu. They let you swap items out. Would go back in a heartbeat.
J. F.
We went for breakfast. It was a little expensive but had excellent food, friendly staff, and a lovely atmosphere.
E. S.
Ordered the beef checks, pears n mash wasn't bad ATALL.. Beef was v tender n pears gave it tht kick n freshness
Deseret was Carmel popcorn Sunday ice-cream... Tht was amazing wowwwww
Will come again
E. S.
My favourite restaurant in Canberra. The banoffee pie, tortellini and fried chicken are heavenly!
D. J.
Food was really nice but it wasn't really tapas as advertised, it was just like a normal sized meal with share plates.
R. C.
Great food. We have the degustation which is well worth a trip to get. But the signage is terrible, so its really hard to find unless you know where it is.
M.
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. My pick of laid back restaurants in Canberra.
S. R.
Great staff and great food. A lot more casual than it appears but in a good way!
L. A.

J. D.
Exceptional food that was surprising and different, great service, welcoming and friendly staff!
L. S.
Good food and coffee. In danger of becoming overcrowded. Staff has to work hard to keep up with the volume so be prepared to wait a little
R. A.
Absolutely fantastic food. I’ll be dining here next time I’m in Canberra, that’s for sure.
A. O.
Our favorite restaurant! If there's only 2 of you, make sure your ask for seats at the kitchen bar, you get to watch the kitchen action and chat to the chefs
D. K.
