I am vegan… and this place was so accommodating to my dietary requirements. I’m not entirely sure if what I ate was vegan, but the vegetarian option was absolutely delightful. If you want to break your veganism for one night this is the place to do it!!! Empty plate for evidence.

My wife daughter and I visited this Korean fast good restaurant at Canberra Civic upon the recommendation of a friend. We were very happy with the food. We'd ordered the Korean fried chicken, which was crispy and flavourful; I didn't need it to have gravy, it was that tasty. Along with it, we had their cheesy corn, which was positively bursting with flavour. Absolutely loved it, it was so hard to ration the portion because I could have easily finished it by myself. My daughter had a chicken tonkatsu lunch meal, which was great value for money too. Overall, we'd absolutely return.

Fried chicken and beer, what more can you ask for? Definitely recommend the whole chicken option if you're hungry. Japchae glass noodles were delicious, but fish cake soup was disappointing. Delicious beer on tap. Service was attentive but the server dropped one of our chicken wings when delivering the platter. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors available. No booking necessary.

An average meal, got the chicken burger in a meal and got a free beer and 4 chicken wings. The burger was tiny the chips were over cooked and oily and all of the food was bland. The wings and burger need seasoning/sauce. 2.5 stars

I have been excitedly awaiting the opening of this restaurant as it's all about two of my favourite things, chicken and beer. I had my company gathering here and we ordered an assortment of dishes. We had boneless fried chicken, mild and spicy flavoured ones, pajeon, sweet corns, and mini kegs of beers for sharing. The chickens were top notch, crispy on the outside and tender and juicy in the inside. Flavour is on point and the sauce covers the chicken evenly. The sauces tasted very authentic Korean fried chickens. Highly recommend anyone trying this chicken and beer restaurant.

Their potato heaven is heaven and they have, in my opinion, the best KFC. Friendly staff, awesome food, great location. Would highly recommend visitors to give it a try! Gami chicken is an outstanding restaurant. We hosted our work Christmas party here with 30 people. Very affordable and great value for money. We purchased their famous beer kegs for the tables which made it such an easy and enjoyable venue. 100% would recommend to anyone. Great team and A+ service!

Each time I go into Gami Chicken I am more impressed. The Chicken is perfectly cooked, AMAZINGLY crispy on the outside and deliciously moist in the middle. The chicken coupled with it's special and uniquely brewed beer makes for a perfect casual dining experience, whether alone or with a group. Definitely will be back MULTIPLE times! Gami has an extensive menu with some exciting options to choose from. The overall atmosphere of Gami in Canberra was very inviting and comfortable. I am a big fan of fried chicken, however, it appears most of the dishes that were ordered were lacking in flavour. It must be stated, however, that all the dishes were cooked well but just lacked that flavour profile to make it a brilliant experience. The prices that are charged for this degree of quality was also disappointing. It is clear Gami has the potential to really become a memorable dining experience. Overall, not a terrible experience, however, needs some work.

Was really shocked by how average the fried chicken was. Not enough coating so hardly crispy/crunchy and flavour was lacking. I had to add salt and pepper to the plain one. Fish cake soup for $18 - whilst generous for a bunch frozen fishcakes is underwhelming. I think this should be more of a side dish- smaller and cheaper to compliment the food here. Service was hit and miss too.

It's a hit n miss. When the service/food is spot on it's a great place to eat at but last night was the straw that broke the camels back. We waited 40mins for two dishes (spicy chicken/dumplings) we asked where was our food was since we saw 3 tables that came in after us getting their food, they said they were sorry it's coming but no explanation. After a few more minutes we were pretty over it and thought let's go somewhere else as we left the manger chased us down and said they hadn't put the order in and it would be fast tracked. No one updated us while we were there or noticed we weren't getting any food while everyone else was if we didn't ask we'd probably be sitting there all night before someone noticed. Other issues we've had has been food coming out cold and messed up orders since alot of the staff don't speak English well which isn't a big deal just a bit annoying. But we did keep going back cause it's good when you get lucky

Gami Chicken and Beer is one of the best restaurants in the city currently. Amazing service, delicious wings and great pairing of beer and fried chicken mains. The interior itself is quite pleasing and the owner even allowed for split pay even though they do not accept it currently. Overall great experience and a must visit!

Service Awesome. Food depending what you like can't go wrong with the boneless chicken and wings if on a budget go the wings but it's a must try with Soy sauce the best. Stir fry I wouldn't get again that's my opinion. Fried rice was average. Beers a little pricey but then again it's the city. I tried the lunch options also not a fan I've been 4 times now and I'd stick with the Chicken. Oh amd the cheese corn is lovely also.

Went to Gami today to find out they dont split bills. We have been here so many times over the years and they have always split our bills. Said it was a change in policy. I have since changed my policy to say 'no Gami chicken for the foreseeable future'. Still does good food and beer just very annoying about the bill. Excellent food!!! We've here many times since its opened and we never had a bad experience. The reason food is simply fresh and tasty. One more thing to consider - it is opened kitchen. We saw the kitchen was so cleaned and tidy every times we came. We felt safe for what we ate. TL;DR best consistently crunchy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside chicken I’ve had Ever since late 2018 when Gami opened, my boyfriend and I could not help ourselves dropping in every couple of weeks. I’ve tried *legitimately* every other fried chicken place in my reach and Canberra, and hands down Gami is an all time consistent favourite - ALWAYS juicy fried chicken (always order it coated!), crisp sides and great service :) Our favorite dish is a whole boneless chicken with half spicy and half soy garlic, coated - we recently tried the mala spicy flavour as well, and it’s super moreish and not too spicy - keeps you coming back for more!

The restaurant at convenient location at heart of Canberra City. The staffs friendly. The friend chickens taste very good, I tried original and Sweet Chili Boneless Chicken. The original chicken with volcano source(spicy sauce) gives you pleasant spicy amazing test. The seafood onion Pancake is also worth to recommend. We definitely will go back to explore more.

This was the second time I went and I have no doubt I'll be back again for more. The food is great and the service is awesome. The boneless chicken and the potato heaven are the top tips from me and just thinking about them makes my mouth water. The only thing I had an issue was with the seating, which was not so comfortable and the online booking system, which took three days before I had a response on both occasions. Perhaps I'll try and call next time.

After enjoying a visit to one of their Melbourne stores a year ago I had to try their new Canberra store now they have opened here. Just the same as I remembered was the large servings - don't be tempted to order too much, one dish per person is heaps. However while the Melbourne store I visited was a great place to linger, this one is quite tightly packed, and doesn't encourage sitting for an extended period.

On Friday the 22nd of March, my girlfriend and I decided to try out Gami. We were greated promptly and taken to our seats. Our waiter, Lucy, whom had a very bubbly personality was amazing! We ordered a plate of boneless chicken with their volcano sauce and two alcoholic beverages to go with it. We had a rude customer next to us that upon leaving knocked over my girlfriends cocktail all over her and just kept walking and didn't even apologise to us. A worker saw this and immediately cleaned the spill and apologised for the inconvenience even though it wasn't his fault!! Our drink was replaced free of charge which was amazing! Would definitely recommend to anyone and thank you Lucy for your amazing customer service!

Potato haven is match with beer or Soju. Spicy soup is heat up your cold body. Also beer and music is quite good no need to go to bar or night club. Friendly staff and quick respond.
